Jim is an honest guy. He has replaced several of ours and our families' water/ heating/air units. He has very fair prices, and even gives a military discount. Anyone who we have referred has been extremely satisfied as well. read more

Jim is fantastic at what he does. He is honest and charges fair prices. He will repair rather than replace, which is much appreciated in this economy. My family will use Leipart Heating and Cooling for as long as Jim is in business. read more

I highly recommend Leipart heating and cooling. Nothing worse than having your air conditioner break on a weekend with 90 degree weather and out of town guests arriving that day. Called Leipart and James answered immediately. He was at the house within 2 hours. After working on the air conditioner for several hours, coming to the conclusion my unit was unfixable. (27 yrs old) James gave me options and was able to get an air conditioner and install it that night. Customer service was above and beyond. read more

Jim came and installed a new AC unit for us a couple of years ago. It's been much better since, zero complaints. I went downstairs into the basement this morning to discover that our sump pump had backed up. You love to see it. Hopped on Yelp after a couple of hours of slogging around and moving crap out of there to discover that Jim also does plumbing. Didn't hesitate to call him and book him to properly set up the sump pump, and I have zero doubt he's going to come out and do it right. As long as Jim Leipart is doing anything having to do with home maintenance, he has my business. I can't give a higher recommendation than that. read more

The tech was 3.5 hours late. He applied duct tape to my hvac. He charged me $225. He said he hopes that took care of my problem. He said if it didn't they can come back... I'm amending my review, I originally rated Leipart's H&C a one because of their 1st impression... their second impression was much better. Jim read my feedback and was just as dissapointed as me. He called me within minutes and made things right between us. Jim takes his business very serious and it shows. He returned to my home and walked us through our issues and made sure everyone understood what needed to be done. He left saying that if we would allow it, he would return in the fall to address hvac issue in our attic. I believe he will be getting a call from me in the future. His pride in his work is what I need for my home. read more

I'm so happy that I went onto yelp and found this company. I didn't notice that the temperature in my house was dropping until my dog started barking and acting weird. I went to check the thermast and increased the temperature just to see if the furnace would kick on but it didnt. Then I got nervous... only a few days from Christmas and money was low. I read the reviews on this company so I called. The owner, Jim came out within an hour and diagnosed & fixed my furnace within minutes! He was very knowledgeable and explained the components of the furnace to me. The price was well worth it any day for peace of mind and heat. I will definitely use this company again. read more

The owner came by same day and fixed our problem. I would highly recommend Leipart heating and cooling. read more

Unfortunately I have had two issues in the last two weeks with a leaking furnace and Sump Pump that was stuck and grinding. Fortunately I found Leipart Heating and Cooling who responded next day in one instance and same day in the other. As someone who is not handy Leipart came to my house and took the time to diagnose the issue then took time to explain to me the issues and why they had to fix what they did. They even offered to go to Home Depot and get me new filters. From a pricing perspective they were well within budget in comparison to the other companies we called. They could have taken advantage of someone like me but did the exact opposite. I can not recommend Leipart enough. With all the competition out there I recommend you give them a chance. They are a smaller company so give a much more personal experience. I have now met almost the entire crew and will call them with any issue I have. read more

Without question Leipart heating and cooling are the finest contractors I have ever dealt with. From first class state of the art HVAC products, excellent installation at very reasonable prices Leipart excels. I am also impressed with the technicians that keep you informed on what work is being done but also how they make you feel at ease and comfortable while working on /in your house. In short, Leipart is a class act. read more

Attempted rip off!! My furnace was not working last night so I called C&J Heating for an idea of what a service would cost and was advised $50 for the call out and $75 diagnosis. They did come out promptly and after 15 minutes worked out that the Nest thermostat was the issue. Jim recommended changing it for a Sensi unit but did not have one in his truck. He organized for a tech to come out the next day to install it... so far so good.... that was until I checked out the features and price of the recommended replacement and realized that I was about to be ripped off by $130 for just installing it, PLUS the other associated charges... total to replace a thermostat was $400.00... NO WAY... I paid the tech for the service visit and the diagnosis and sent him on his way. My advice is to stay well clear of this price gouging company. Technically good, but what a rip off!! Although the Sensi unit had reasonable reviews, it does not even come close to the features of the nest. read more

I wish I could give this guy six stars. Jim, who we later found out the owner, paid our house a visit because we've been waking up to funky smells in the middle of the night. By default, we thought it was our furnace -- or some burning plastic or rubber. The stench was awful, and I had noticed it for days, but it wasn't until my mom and my sister could smell it too that I thought it was worth investigating. On a Sunday morning/afternoon in 0 degree weather in Chicago, Jim paid our house a visit and noticed the smell of skunk right away. Yes, awful. After checking our heater, he confirmed that our furnace, et. al. were all safe and that we wouldn't be threatened with carbon monoxide. He actually went above and beyond his call of duty and helped us locate the problem. Checking vents, our attic, our basement, various rooms in our house just to figure out the source (perhaps he was just curious, but definitely knew more than our family did regarding what could have possibly been the problem). Finally, after getting knee-deep in the snow in our backyard, he confirmed a skunk hole beneath our back patio! GROSS. Anyway, after a couple hours and pulling out various tools, ladders, etc., Jim was able to diagnose the problem, and we got an exterminator out in the next couple of days and they've been landing skunk after skunk -- but our house has definitely been smelling better! Back to Jim. He's just real nice and really friendly. Definitely made light of the matter and assured us that we'd be okay (which was refreshing considering how stressed we were out of fear that we were inhaling toxic fumes). Our family was really impressed by his sincerity and diligence to the job, which was one he was not expecting to do when coming out! read more

Our hot water went out at about 8 pm recently. I've been here before with appliance repairs, so I figured I would need to stay home the next morning and wait for the repairman to arrive between a 4 hour window. I then called Leipart Heating and Cooling and I spoke to Jim. I told him my issue and he said he could be out within an hour to take a look at the water heater. I was amazed by this. He came out within the hour and found the problem and quickly got our hot water running again! The price was fair and there was no extra charge for the late visit. I not only took a hot shower in the morning but didn't have to waste vacation time to stay home from work. I will definitely be using Leipart Heating and Cooling again! Thanks Jim read more

Our AC was blowing, but not cooling upon first use of the season (temps in the upper 80s) I called several places and left messages. Jim called me back right away, and got us scheduled the next afternoon. He recommended maintenance cleaning, and freon recharge first, and that actually took care of the issue! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and we will stick with calling him for all our future HVAC needs! read more

I called first thing in the morning as our A/C stop working during a heatwave and Leipart sent someone out that afternoon! Since they were able to accommodate us so quickly, I didn't need to call anyone else. Robby came and explained everything to us as he worked so we understood the process. He was very nice and friendly. He needed a part and he went to the store to get it. He got our old unit up and running and saved the day! Thank you Robby! read more

I wouldn't give this company the time of day. Had an appointment scheduled for Saturday at 9am. At 9;35 called and asked when they were coming. I left a voice mail. No response or call back. At 10:35 I called again and left another vmail. As of today, Monday I have not received any response. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I am a reasonable person and understand that emergencies come up but not to call and give an explanation while I waited house is unacceptable. It wouldn't surprise me if C&J paid to have these other glowing reviews as I cant imagine how such an unprofessional business can stay in business Tim M read more

During what felt like the hottest week of the year, the AC in our new house developed a leak and couldn't be used. We attempted to deal with our warranty company's HVAC contractor and after going without AC for 10 days I took matters into my own hands to get it fixed I called Jim who agreed to meet me at my house after work within 4 hours of the call! Jim immediately diagnosed the issue as a clogged pipe* and identified the completely blocked pipe. Within fifteen minutes had the problem fixed and the house was cooling off! Jim was wonderful to deal with. He took the time to explain the problem as well as how to avoid it in the future. On top of all of that his prices were amazingly reasonable. I would highly recommend Jim in the future for anyone with HVAC or plumping issues! * The warranty company's contractor failed to look for a clogged pipe and erroneously diagnosed it as a rusted pan which required a new evaporator coil since they are all one unit. read more

I'm doing this review again, since I lost my old account. But, my gratitude for these guys has not diminished. About three years ago, during Chiberia, my furnace went out. Found these guys and gave a call. Many could've taken advantage of my situation and told me to buy a new furnace right off the bat. Not true here! For days (almost a week), they came out to fix my temperamental and soon to be failing furnace. Eventually, no more could be done and my furnace had to be replaced. The team worked beautifully (and with some entertainment) to install my amazing furnace. Top of the line and promised my investment would show in my future gas bills. And they were absolutely right! To this day, the furnace works beautifully and my gas bills have been lower! I couldn't ask for more honest, hardworking, and patient group of guys to help me through the wicked cold snap. read more

I never normally write reviews. But having been stung by problem tradespeople in the past, I really appreciate being able to reward excellent service with a great review. David and Jim came out at 4am when our old furnace broke (bare in mind it is 4F outside and I have two kids). With the internal heat disappearing fast, David turned up, was extremely courteous, and polite. He was quick to the point, and professional. Identified the problem, and gave me a number of options. I never once felt pressured, and all aspects of the work were fully explained to me with enough technical detail that I felt competent to be able to relate what had happened to other people. We ended up having our 23 year old furnace replaced with a new one - which worked so quickly. The team was done in 2hours - and all members of the team were, again, polite, courteous and professional. IF ONLY EVERY TRADE BUSINESS WAS RUN LIKE THIS! I can only say, if you have a problem - use these guys, they were great! read more

I have used them for furnace and A/C but until I looked on Yelp I wasn't aware they also did plumbing. I asked for a quote from half a dozen places via Yelp to install a new garbage disposal and kitchen sink faucet, replacing the old ones that had gone bad. Got mixed responses. Some asked very detailed questions while others just wanted to send someone out (on my nickel) without me or them knowing what the quote would be. Luckily I could look at each company's reviews on Yelp, which were consistent with how they responded to my request. As fyi for others who use the Yelp quote process, I find it's more important to go with someone who demonstrates they know what they are doing. Because of a responsive Q&A, I went with Leipart and Jim did a great job installing the new equipment. He also packed up the old equipment and disposed of it, and scrubbed the sinks so they looked brand new. Very pleased with how the project turned out and Leipart's work here. read more

Six stars for Jim!! I've lived in my place for ten years and have been dragging my feet on replacing my AC unit because of expense. The recent humidity pushed me over the edge. This morning I was sweating bullets and by night, I was as cool as a cucumber. Jim is everything you want in an AC repair guy: affable, efficient, hard working and helpful. I was extremely happy with his quality of work, insanely fast turnaround and the total cost for repairs. Thank you, Jim! Great work! I'll recommend you any chance I get! read more

Thought they were out of Naperville but really out of Joliet but makes no difference I called about 9:00 AM talked to Jim he had me scheduled for today between 12:00-2:00 OK. John the service tech called at 1:00 be there in 15 min. showed up promptly with an apprentice Kyle who made my day by finding my lost key fob in the grass! Thanks Kyle! Told John of my problem of can not cool my townhome probable leak he cleaned the condenser checked and replaced filter and suggested a sealant and dye for my leak put in 1 lb. of R22 and we are now getting cool inside, John explained each step of the service was polite and informative as well appreciate his input. Price seemed fair considering the leak sealant is guaranteed. Would recommend this company for your heating and cooling requirements. read more

I called and asked for a quote on a job to get a hot water heater installed. Jim took 20-30 minutes to talk through my specific info on the phone, even looking at some pictures I sent him. He dissuaded me from spending more money than I had to, and the overall experience was great. Highly recommended! read more

Leipart Heating and Cooling - Beautiful installation. Jim really worked hard to do this custom install in a tight space. Excellent craftsmanship! - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Naperville, Illinois

Our furnace went out the same weekend we started receiving our first single digit temperature days. These things never have good timing. After we spent a few hours googling and trying to troubleshoot on our own, we knew it was above our heads and called Jim at C&J. We called at 8:30pm, and by 10pm Jim was at our house diagnosing what the issues were. By 12am Jim had brought over some help (I think his name was Brent), they had all the parts and began working. By 4am we had a brand new furnace. We hadn't been using the heater all day and didn't know until right before bed that it was not working. By the time everything was said and done, our house was south of 45 degrees. We were SO thankful for these guys and how quickly they were able to respond. C&J also is very good about business. They understand the importance of their reputation (hence why we wanted to continue to help that out with this review) and they sincerely appreciate repeat customers. We had to call them back out due to our humidifier acting up (the equipment in our house is all just nearing end of life). They really took care of us knowing that we were repeat customers and waived a couple fees to make things a bit easier on us (let's just say with everything, it's been a VERY expensive month, so those little things go a long ways, guys :) ). To Kim D's point in her review - if I could give these guys 6 stars, I would! Thanks again!! read more

I called Leipart Heating and Cooling on Thursday evening shortly after 5 after being stood up by another repair company twice. The air conditioner wasn't working and it was 80+ degrees in my house for 3 days straight. Jim answered and advised that he'd have someone out to repair the air conditioner that night. Jim the owner himself arrived a few hours later. When he walked in the first thing he said was "it's hot in here!". Jim got to work right away and in less than hour the air conditioner was repaired and the house was beginning to cool down. Jim is extremely friendly, knowledgeable, fast, and he seems to genuinely care. I really appreciate him coming out same day after working such a long day already. I will certainly use this company again. Thanks Jim and the house has cooled nicely!!! read more

David came out just as expected and did an amazing job for my furnace!! We had contractors who were supposed to redo our bathrooms and decided to 'change our furnace filter' for us, however they completely jacked up our system and needless to say it sounded like helicopters taking off in our condo unit. David was honest, helpful, and a complete breath of fresh air. Needless to say I will be calling him back again for furnace check ups often and for repairs as we need them!! Thank you so much, Yelp really does a great job with honest reviews! read more

They are amazing! Very personable, professional and reasonably priced. They show you the exact problem and provide explanation. I don't usually give out 5 stars too often but I have to second all the great reviews on here for Jim. I just had him come out for a furnace tune-up prior to the season starting. Jim quoted me a price before getting here, he didn't have any service charge add ons like a lot of places. He is very honest and friendly, told me what to be on the lookout for in the future. I'd definitely recommend him for any heating or a/c repairs. read more

I tried to use these guys once and I can tell you that they are expensive. They want to charge us an arm and leg for changing a capacitor. The owner didn't like the review I left and he managed to remove my review citing that he couldn't recognize my yelp account. That says a lot about how they maintain the 5 star ratings. Yelp, if you want to verify the review, please email me; rather than removing the review unilaterally. Their must be a better way to verify a review than removing the reviews based on the owners inability to identify a reviewer from their Yelp ID. Otherwise, Shame on you. NOTE: This is not an attempt of character defamation. If yelp can not verify the service rentered, they can remove my review read more

Great experience! Called Jim while he was attending his son's baseball game. He answered every question I had and we agreed to send out a tech between 8-8:30pm that night. Brent came out at 8:15pm and couldn't have been nicer or more informative. He knew his stuff and was an education for me. He was quick, clean and by the end I had cold air again for my family. No hidden costs and no sales pitch to scare me in doing more than I needed. Will only use them going forward... read more

I didn't end up needing Leipart for my furnace needs but if I ever need anything in the future I know where to go. On a Saturday afternoon my furnace wasn't working and I found the code signal for it, and I called up Leipart. Jim answered and offered up a diagnosis visit within the hour. I'm currently renting, and upon contacting my landlord he wanted to use one of his connections instead. I called back and explained to Jim and he said no problem at all. He even offered to guide me through a couple of high level specs over the phone so I could speak well to the issues with my landlord. Extremely courteous, respectful, honest, and understanding. Couldn't have been more pleased, and it was just off of a couple quick phone calls and a cancelled appointment. read more

I worked with the owner in fixing my HVAC. He was polite, knowledgeable, and professional. I feel that I got good service. I recommend him/his company without hesitation. I have a problem with airflow coming out of my vents. The service tech advised it probably was due to mismatched/misapplied coils. We went out to check my AC unit, but I was certain it wasn't the unit because it's only a year old, and air was coming out of some of the vents. The tech confirmed after that: it was probably the coils, as he thought. He said, while we were outside, it would be around $3500 to fix them and $4500 for a new AC/coils. I wouldn't have even thought about the second option, until he told me it came with a 10-year service warranty. The service tech went out to his truck, and after about a half hour, he came back inside and mentioned casually about the two prices: $4500 for the coils and $5500 for the AC/coils. I politely corrected him, thinking he mistakenly misquoted the prices he originally gave me. He replied, "That's not what I said. I said '$4500 for the coils.'" Both my father, who was also there, and I said in unison that was indeed not the price he quoted, but once again, he denied it and said, "I would never say only $3500 for coil installation. It costs a lot more than that because I'm going to have to have three guys out there working on it." I wouldn't have cared if he simply owned up to the mistake. Him denying it, combined with the fact that he refused to remove the cover plate to confirm it was the coils, as instructed by the owner, made me weary of him as an employee. Needless to say, I won't be going with them for the job. read more

Jim, the owner, has incredible customer service and passes it along to his employees. I have used them for A/C cleaning services, purchased a new a/c unit (with installation) from them and they have been out for various diagnostics. They have been more than reasonable and stand by their work. They ensure that the customer is taken care of, are readily available and at the end of the day- satisfied- even if it isn't necessarily profitable for them. All around, they have been nothing less than great for me and I will continue to use them and urge that you use them as well. read more

Jim and Dave came out today and did a great job. They were very friendly and professional. As we talked to Jim we felt that there was no BS from him. DO NOT USE THEM!!! We contacted C&J (I spoke with Jim the owner) because of all the great reviews they received. I am flabbergasted as to how wrong so many people are about this company. We scheduled them to clean out the ducts for our heating/AC, correct the AC balance, to do a camera inspection of our main line to the sewer to ensure no blockage and to swap out our kitchen sink (which required redoing some minor plumbing). Re ductwork cleaning: They showed up and cleaned the ductwork. Unfortunately, they completely missed one of the vents, so one line was not done at all. Re AC balance: They indicated we have undersized ductwork. They tried to balance it the best they could. When I inquired into a more permanent means of correcting I was told there are 2 options, either redoing the duct work or putting in a booster fan. When I asked about it, I was told they that they are too busy to do the work that its a big job. Redoing the duct work is a big job (you would think they would want to do it) and putting in the booster fan is a 1 hour job (cut duct, place power and fan). Re the sink: They "didn't have time" to finish the job, they rigged it so we could use the sink, but not the garbage disposal. they didn't seal the sink or redo the pluming (and it wasn't a complicated job, it was redoing the y plumbing under the sink). They told us they would have to come back to finish when the do the sewer line. They did have the gall to charge us a couple hundred bucks for the "work" done. Re sewer line. Their camera broke, so they couldn't do it. They were going to call us to reschedule after the camera was repaired (they said 2-3 days). A week went by and no word. When I called they said they were busy and forgot about us. When I finally got through to someone to reschedule (for a week later) they never showed up. Upon inquiring where they are, I was told they were at the shop that they forgot about us (again!). The eventually sent someone out who scoped the sewer line and finished the sink; however they didn't even come themselves, they sent a subcontractor, which worked out better. Evidently these people are only interested in quick easy jobs for which they can over charge you on. If your job turns out to be more complicated then they thought, they will dump you on your butt and "forget" about you. DO NOT USE THEM! read more
