My mistake, I called 4 Season Heating but I couldn't be home so my wife meet the technician. They diagnosed the problem with our furnace and gave my wife a price of $1500 for the repair and part but then tried to sell her a brand new furnace for $9,000. I called AccuMax and yes had to wait an extra 2 days but Dan came out and came to the same diagnosis of the problem but called the manufacturer for us and determined the unit was still under warranty. They were able to get us the part replaced free ($500+) and charged $185 for labor...you can do the math. This is a trust worthy company and will be the only one I call going forward even if I have to wait a day or so longer! read more

Few things can be more terrifying than having to call someone to repair major appliances. Unless you have a recommendation from a friend, you are blindly trusting that the business you hire will not gouge you on the price and will do the work right. In addition to HVAC, Accumax also provides appliance repair. My dryer stopped heating yesterday but the rest of the functions seemed fine. I found Accumax on the web and there were also a few reviews that were very positive. Given that I did not want to buy a new dryer, I took a shot. Excellent service from the moment I called! Very friendly on the phone and I was able to get an appointment that afternoon. They showed up right on time, isolated the problem (burned out fuse) and were on their way in half an hour. Service call + labor + parts were $100 which was very reasonable. Would highly recommend Accumax for any HVAC installation and service or appliance repair. read more

What a change for once when it comes to something in your home! First time home buyers and we discover our AC is done and our furnace is also on its last leg. We got quotes from several other companies. A few were just crazy expensive for what seemed to be absolutely no reason, but Accumax was by far the lowest for what actually seemed like the most. Not only was the pricing where we needed it to be (without having to try to get there either like with other companies), Dan was great to work with, explaining the AC's and furnance and just being honest about things too. He had brochures that we could look through, and for the first time since we bought the house, we finally didn't feel like someone was trying to capitalize on our misfortune. We felt like we were getting a great deal and a really quality product - this was all just during our initial meeting. Installation day came and Dan and his guys came in and got the work done fast! They were very mindful of our floors, laying mats down for where they were going, didn't leave any sort of mess, barely even noticed them really! It was really nice to see an owner (Dan) there working and supervising the process to insure it went smoothly. After it was all done he walked us through the filters and the thermostat which was great! On top of that, Dan & his wife take care of the Nicor & Comed rebate paperwork so you don't have to deal with that because apparently it's a really horrible process....some of the other companies said we would have to do it ourselves. Finally, we got a touchscreen thermostat installed. Dan said it was being slow to touch and he was going to come back the next at noon and put in a whole new one instead of us trying to reboot and hope it works all right. We played with a lil after he left...it was slow, but something we feel like another company would pawn off being like "that's just the way it is"....not Accumax! Dan was there right at 12 the next day, installed the new one, and it worked great - just like the touch on your phone or tablet. Overall, couldn't be happier about going with Accumax - so glad we gave them our business, so much we signed up for their service plan! read more

Jair explained what he was going to do and walked me through the reasons to consider cleaning my furnace/humidifier filter now rather than wait until fall. I ended up doing both now which ended up being more cost efficient and better for my allergies! Jair wore a mask and protected my floors - he was very conscientious and courteous. Dan came out today to check on our furnace, the one he installed roughly 10 years ago. Still running great. This past summer, Jair installed a new air conditioner, which does a noticeably better job at cooling the whole house (even upstairs) and saves some on our electric bill, too. We have relied on AccuMax for our heating and cooling needs for many years. They always do an excellent job and are fair and reasonably priced. They sell high-quality, dependable equipment and are very competent in installing and maintaining it. If a problem should arise (usually due to age), they are good at diagnosing and do not try to sell us more than we want or need. Estimates and any paperwork is provided in a detailed and professional manner. We have found them to be very responsive, never missing an appointment. Dan has also gone the extra mile for us in helping to deal with a drainage problem. All in all, I would highly recommend AccuMax for honest, dependable service. read more

Needed more coolant charge or new A/C unit and was given this company's name by a friend. Dan the owner, and his coworker came out for estimate. Had a brochure that he went through explaining his company history, current staff, and products offered. My A/C unit was 20 years old and showed it, so I went ahead with total unit replacement. I had an idea what the average/fair cost of a new unit replacement was and Accumax's price was totally in line with my expectation. (I did get a quote from another outfit that I had work done from before, and their quote range was too high, in that they stated that copper was really expensive, kinda like how wood currently is??....It's "buyer beware out there" and a lot of outfits love to ride the current economic trend wave and use it to "whack" customers!). Anyway, Accumax came out as scheduled and replaced the unit. The workers but drop cloths on the floor leading to basement and wore shoe protection, and had the job done in a couple hours. My house has cool air again, and I am very satisfied with my service from this company! read more

While we have been using Accumax for over 11 years, it still impresses me how responsive they are and how they do not take our business for granted. My furnace decided to start getting finicky on one of the coldest days of the season...it was -15 outside. We also had a leaking humidifier and a home inspector claimed there was a small gas leak in our fire place. We were personally referred to Accumax several years ago when our last HVAC company poorly installed a furnace at our last home. We used Accumax at our old home and then when we moved into our new home we hired Accumax to install a new furnace with humidifier, thermostat and AC systems. We are pleased and will only use Accumax for all of our yearly services (clean & checks, filter replacements). Dan is very knowledgeable, explains the systems well, and his prices are reasonable. We are very confident that everything is properly installed and that he truly cares about making sure that everything continues to run optimally. The office also registers the furnace and AC systems for the customer, a very nice extra that gives me one less thing to do :) Accumax doesn't seem to advertise much...probably because they don't need to! read more
