From the moment you step inside, the place has that quintessential speakeasy feel. The ambiance is dark, moody, and eclectic, with vintage touches throughout. One feature that really caught my eye was a stunning cove-like structure that added so much character to the space. The menu was just as impressive as the décor -creative, varied, and full of unique cocktails that felt thoughtfully designed rather than your standard bar offerings. They even have a few "secret" drinks hidden on the menu, and the staff will happily tell you how to find them, which is a fun touch.Since another reservation was due to arrive in about 40 minutes, we kept it to two cocktails, which was perfectly fine as we were only stopping in for a nightcap. Both drinks were beautifully crafted. I especially loved The Canvas ,it was bright, refreshing, and memorable. My husband wasn't quite as enthusiastic about his cocktail, though he's generally not one to send a drink back or complain. The staff was warm, friendly, and welcoming throughout our visit. Pricing felt fair for the quality of the cocktails and the overall experience.

I walked in, not sure what to get. The bartender asked me what flavors I like. She went away and made me this epic cocktail. She told me all the things she added, and it was clear, these bartenders are the real deal. They know their stuff. I drank my delightful cocktail way too fast. But it was so damn good. The vibe is fun. They bartenders interact with everyone and do all kinds of cool things with cool ingredients and tell you about it all. Perfect spot for a loungey date night, or a meet up with a friend. There is no food. But plenty of spots on 8th in walking distance. This is probably one of the best cocktail bars I've ever been to. ... and I've been to a lot. :)

We spotted The Mode Lounge while out exploring downtown Boise…read more We popped in for a cocktail before heading to dinner. We hoped to grab a patio seat but the patio was packed so we went inside. The inside is dark and decorations are interesting. There is a variety of seating such as high tops, comfortable conversation chairs & tables as well as a booth. It has window seating available as well. We were actually the only people inside the lounge except one person at the bar. I soon realized why everyone was sitting outside after we took a seat and ordered cocktails. The music was so loud we could barely hold a conversation. Regardless, our server Nick was great. He was very attentive and constantly checked in with us for drinks. We ordered a Party Girl Mule, the Chili Gringo Mule and a dirty martini. All were delicious. I prefer my martinis colder and a glass filled to the rim. I felt the martini was lacking volume for the price of the martini. The Mode Lounge patio is located right on the walkway so it looked like a great spot for people watching. We didn't hang out too long as we had a difficult time talking with the loud music but we did like the drinks and our server, Nick. We will stop by again but look for outside seating.

I'm so glad we decided to check it out. We arrived and were escorted to the top floor, where we were greeted with beautiful, almost awe-inspiring views of the mountains and the city. The space itself is tiny, with just a couple of couches and a few additional seats. In a way, you're almost forced to interact with the other patron but for us, it was fantastic. We ended up chatting with several people throughout the evening. Some were tourists like us, while others were locals, and it was genuinely fun hearing their stories, learning more about the city, and getting recommendations for things to see and do. We also had some great conversations with the bartender, which made the experience feel especially personal. The cocktail format is unique as well. There isn't a fixed menu. Instead, you tell the bartender what you like, what you're in the mood for, and how adventurous you want to be, and they create something around your preferences. I'm a whiskey drinker and was open to experimenting, so I ended up with an Old Fashioned that had a savory element (soy sauce ) I wasn't entirely sure about at first but it turned out to be surprisingly good. My husband, who's a big mezcal fan, got a cocktail featuring Chartreuse, if I remember correctly, and thoroughly enjoyed his. I believe reservations are limited to 90 minutes, but that was plenty of time for two cocktails each. We left feeling like we'd had a genuinely memorable evening--not just because of the drinks and the views, but because of the conversations and the people we met along the way.Pricing is slightly on the higher side, but that's pretty much what we expected given the setting and the experience and might I add that the alcohol was also top shelf. Definitely one of those places where the experience is as much about the people and atmosphere as it is about the cocktails.

Now I know I have not eaten here before...we did stop in a couple of times and once left because nothing on the HH menu looked good to us at that time. The second time we walked out after sitting there for 10-15 minutes and not getting any service! Now it was a beautiful morning and my gf really wanted to go here, great patio I will say. It took a bit seeing that we didn't have a reservation but we did get seated on the patio. Now I will say the service was not great but it was not an issue for the most part, I thought our waitress did a good job she was just really busy! What I will judge was the wait and the food! I love the fact they care about their ingredients, what they use and where they get it...it showed in some ways! What I didn't love was the fact they absolutely sucked on the follow through! I had the crab eggs Benedict...now I remember from culinarily school that hollandaise sauce is hard, but making it without it breaking is a MUST! Mine was broken, fat separated out, something you would never see at a half ass breakfast place like Dennys!! This was gross, pure and simple! My gfs breakfast came out wrong...took a while to get it the first time and even longer to get the right dish!!! It was an eggswhite Frittata, they do not take long to make in a very small cast iron! Now the part that I really didn't like...she paid, she is not my baby momma, love of my life but not mother of my daughter...and she paid the whole bill!! She should not have been charged for the Frittata...it took forever to get the right one and then she didn't eat much of it at all, we were done time wise and it was not good...very bland and rubbery!! She wouldn't let me complain since she was paying, she is so sweet and kind, just that kind of person! I was tempted to quietly track down the manager...but didn't! Should have! Over all, don't think I would go back! When your kitchen can't make simple sauces and the basics, why should I give you my money?? Or hers! The manager owes her a gift card! KT
