    The Glen

I was so excited to try this after reading google reviews, but this was the most disappointing meal of our trip to Jim Thorpe. To say the food was tasteless is an understatement. I ordered the Glen, and it seemed like they forgot the salt (or any flavor, really), and the avocado wasn't even ripe. The rest of my family felt the same way about their food as well. Two stars for the nice ambience, good view, easy parking, plentiful seating, and clean bathrooms.

Whoops. Yet another review where we ate everything before we could get a picture. This has got to be the best local breakfast spot. We got the Cali on a wrap, pork roll on Portuguese roll, everything bagel with pickle cream cheese and the tree hugger hash. Everything was absolute fire. The potatoes are local fyi and super crunchy. I would 10/10 recommend coming here before taking the LeHigh scenic rail. It's just a mile up the road and so worth it.

So we came here twice in one day cause the breakfast was soooo good. For breakfast my wife and I got the Burner which was a jalapeño bagel with eggs and pepper jack cheese and andouille sausages and my wife got some bagel with loads of pastrami.. we also got the Hunter's Hash which was awesome. Now breakfast was soooo good that after the scenic train ride, we came back for lunch and got the summer roll and cheesesteak sub. Breakfast was great but their lunch sandwiches were kinda bland. But still the breakfast was great...

Not sure why this place doesn't have 5 stars. My friends and I stopped by for a quick brunch before going to Jim Thorpe to hike. It's a cute restaurant on the side of the road and it's huge. There's a big outdoor seating and plenty of tables inside as well. When we came on a Saturday it was extremely packed and they were running out of bagels. Regardless, the service was nice and the food came out quick! I highly recommend the lox bagel. I would say it is comparable to New York style bagels. The sandwich was thick, stuffed, and they did not skimp on the cream cheese and smoked salmon. It was an incredibly delicious sandwich and most importantly, affordable (I think it was about $9). I would also get the home fries to share. They came out hot and perfectly cooked; crispy on the outside and soft inside. If you're coming into Jim Thorpe, I would definitely make a stop here.

We opted to sit in the outside patio area after ordering due to the number of children and noise level inside. Outside was perfect. The weather was just right to enjoy our brunch sandwiches. Service was quick and efficient. The bagels were shear perfection! The flavor combinations that we each chose were deliciousness! It was pretty busy from the tourism off of Jim Thorpe, but there is ample parking and seating.

Fantastic , pretty little cafe overlooking a mountain. Best home fries ever , very friendly staff

Cool atmosphere. Plants were well taken care of. The chairs were disheveled with crumbs left on multiple tables despite two workers wiping down the coffee bar, they never made it over to the dirty tables. Ordered 4 items off of the menu, all were 10/10. Blueberry cobbler coffee had great flavor, Iced Elderberry Chai was wonderful. I got a Turkey BLT wrap which had perfect ratios of meat and vegetables. Beware- $3 charge for tortilla wrap which I thought was a little odd. Prices are fair, especially for the area. Staff were kind!

Quick service, diner-like atmosphere with a decent amount of seating. Located on the side of the highway with a decent amount of parking as well. If you're in a pinch and looking for a breakfast spot, you will most likely be able to find parking and be able to sit fairly quickly compared to other spots in the area (they have a patio outside that is covered with more seating). People are friendly and food comes out hot and quick. Everything was pretty good! What you would want in a standard breakfast. I had scrambled eggs with cheese, bacon, and rye toast. I wasn't a fan of the butter they used on my toast. The toast was warm, but the butter didn't really melt and it had an oily texture...seemed like some kind of fake butter. Bacon was very crispy and flavorful. Everyone else enjoyed their food. Great stop along the highway for sure.

Absolutely terrible customer service! Staff is really rude. Came in to ask if dogs are ok to come inside and she told me no, which is fine. We took him to the outside seating on the side. Came in to order and the girl that told me no dogs allowed inside was happily petting a dog that came in and didn't say anything to them about taking their dog out... ok fine whatever kinda annoying but moving on. I ordered and told them for here and they asked where we were sitting. About 25 minutes later I asked about my food since the people that ordered ahead of me were done eating after having their food brought outside to them. Came back in to ask and they handed me a bag with the food sitting for a while. I asked why it's in a bag when we wanted dine in. The short blonde girl that told me no dogs allowed inside looked me dead in the face and said just eat it out of the bag. No attempt to apologize or remedy the situation. She didn't feel remotely bad about the wait or that it was their bad. Beyond that, the food is basic. Not the best food I've ever eaten by any means. Definitely not coming back

We found this place because I was looking for somewhere I could get a beer and walk out and around the town of Jim Thorpe (I believe they allow it here). But ended up staying for the vibes and plus we were super hungry. I wish I remembered our waitresses name but I believe she had pink in her hair. She allowed me and my girlfriend to sample some beers that she thought we would like because we were hesitant and what to order. We got the sangria sour beer and the white ale which were perfect for us. We also saw online that everyone loved the smash burger so we had to try it. We added truffle fries for 3 dollars which was so worth it. Some of the best fries we have ever had. Also I think we decided it was the best smash burger we have ever had. We both have never tried bacon jam and we were a bit hesitant about the pimento cheese as well. I think my favorite moment from this trip was sitting at the bar here and eating this meal. Plus the burger lived up to the hype. Thank you to the waitress we had you made our day!

The staff seemed polite, expressing their apologies for the wait times. The staff insists that "it's well worth the wait," but the real question is: is waiting over an hour for food truly worth it? After placing our breakfast order around 10:40 AM, we eagerly anticipated a plate of fluffy pancakes and crispy bacon, but alas, time marched on. In fact, it marched so slowly that I'm convinced we slipped into an alternate universe, where time doesn't exist and food is just a mythical creature. By 11:45 AM, we were staring at the menu again, now featuring lunch items, and questioning whether breakfast is merely a figment of our imaginations. To make matters worse, the entire experience felt like a tourist trap--no pun intended--where dreams and appetites go to die. You know it's bad when you start contemplating whether the short stack of pancakes and omelet you ordered actually requires a passport to arrive. So, if you're looking for a place where you can enjoy a leisurely meal that may or may not arrive before dinner service, this gem is for you. But for me? I'll be sticking to an actual looking glass, where at least I know the reflection of my breakfast is not just a cruel joke. Never again. Nope. Edit** we walked down the road to Antonio's pizza, the place was packed but managed to find one empty table. Upon sitting down our order was taken within 2min. Our food then took 10min until it came out. We were blown away! Antonio's for the win!

It was packed when I arrived, so I expected a wait, but it ended up being a bit longer than I hoped. They seemed a little understaffed for the season, though the staff that were there were super friendly and doing their best to keep things moving. Outdoor seating was really nice. Breezy, shaded, and a good spot to rest your feet after being out all day. Indoors is small but cozy in that old-town way. A lot of people stop here because there's a restroom, so there's constant movement, but even with all the traffic the place stayed clean and the staff stayed kind. The food was solid. I ordered the stew and it was exactly the kind of hearty dish I wanted. Rich gravy, tender meat, and it was served over mashed potatoes that soaked everything up in the best way. Comfort food without being heavy in a bad way. Portions were medium but fair for the price. It did take a long time to get my box and check at the end, but considering how busy they were it made sense. Overall, it's a nice spot in a charming little town and a good place to take a break while exploring all the autumn-vibe streets around it.

We visit Jim Thorpe annually and were excited to try this place given its vegan options. When we entered the restaurant, the set-up was a little confusing. They did seat us pretty quickly though, and the service was probably the only positive to this experience. My husband and I both ordered cocktails; he had the Manhattan while I had a special vodka drink they were offering that day. Our drinks were overall fine but not anything special. My husband's Manhattan was very basic tasting. The menu and the food were the worst parts. The menu is unnecessarily long and phony sounding, like they are trying to be quirky but just come across as fake and condescending. There's extra, unnecessary description of the food that makes the menu difficult and frankly annoying to review. We ordered the bread teaser as well as the hummus. The pesto and the hummus were basic store level quality. The bread was definitely undercooked. For our entrees, we ordered the Cleopatra salad and a pasta dish. The salad tasted fine enough but it was basically just romaine lettuce with a very light dusting of nutritional yeast, vegan cheese, and a very low amount of chickpeas/protein. The pasta was an absolute travesty. It was extremely oily, flavorless, and bland. To top it all off, the food is extremely expensive! They have absolutely no business charging that much. The interior of the place is also a waste of space. It doesn't make any sense that it calls itself a pub. There's also stupid decor everywhere, including a sign that says "no" leading out to an employee-only location. I guess that's supposed to be funny but just comes across as condescending. It's a shame that this place has such a good location with Jim Thorpe and apparently can make a pretty penny serving subpar food and weird vibes. Don't waste your money.
