Recently experienced Per me Guilio on a recent trip to Rome! There are many Michelin restaurant options in the city, so needless to say it was tough deciding. I ended up going with Per me Giulio as the reviews were consistent, the atmosphere looked romantic and modern and the price point was little more reasonable at $150 a person for the full 10 course tasting menu. You don't know what you're getting until it's in front of you and being explained. I wish I was able to see the menu, more of personal interest, excitement and guessing than concern on the menu. Regardless, all the courses were amazing. We opted to do the $90 wine pairing, as we were in Italy and on our honeymoon. Thought the wines were great, we didn't feel they added to the experience and would opt out in the future. The food was amazing, the service lovely and overall we loved our experience. We sat at a small bar looking into the kitchen, which was a very unique experience and allowed us to watch the kitchen whip up the magic. They even brought out some extra desserts for our occasion and the owner Guilio even congratulated us. I found that an impressive touch that he took the time or recognized reservation notes. The old slightly unideal experience and very small. Was they offered welcome beverages and by the way it was proposed I had assumed was part of the experience. Needless to say little surprised when I saw a 50 dollar charge for two glasses of Prosecco. I probably should have clarified, but it's not uncommon to be greeted with a glass of bubbly, especially at a high end Michelin restaurant.

Per Me served up a great meal and even better service by the wonderful Mateo. We opted for the 10 course tasting menu for our honeymoon and enjoyed most of the courses. The quail course and the one prior to it weren't my favorite and didn't fit in with the rest of the tastier courses like the phenomenal foie Gras and the ravioli w anchovies. Mateo recommended some great wine by the glass that complemented the courses as they came. The dessert was nice, but I was hoping for a bit more oomph than the pineapple course and the ice cream. The kitchen kindly brought out a complimentary dessert for our honeymoon that was really spectacular. 4 different chocolates and each of them was amazing. The icing on the cake was Chef Gioulio coming out to our table- he was a delight!

When we visited Rome, we had to try a Michelin star restaurant, and Per me came up as an option as it was easy to book. Their atmosphere and services were great, but food-wise, we loved some of their dishes, like the carpaccio, some pasta dishes made from octopus, squid, etc., and the desserts. We compliment their creative applications of Italian gastronomy with a focus on seafood. However, some of their seafood dishes, like the oyster dish and the one made from seaweed, contained fishy smell that was somewhat repulsive (But being Asian, I am used to eating freshest seafood, so maybe I have a higher standard for seafood?). Their rabbit and pigeon dishes were okay. The desserts were amazing though. I don't think we will go back, but it was a good experience we don't regret.

Was fortunate enough to get a reservation here for lunch on recent stay in Rome. It is recommended to get reservations weeks in advance as Michelin star restaurants book up fast, particularly during the summer months. I'd heard rave reviews from friends about Per Me so was eager to try it! Upon entering the decor has a very clean, minimalist vibe. We selected the tasting menu, First Steps, which the server would only describe as the chef's selections of the day and mostly seafood, so I guess it was meant to be a surprise! It included an amuse bouche followed by 5 courses. The first 2 courses were an assortment of perfect little bites, usually 4-5. One dish was a raw oyster with raspberry sorbet and some sort of foam, very unusual but it worked! Next were 2 seafood courses, followed by an assortment of bite size desserts. The wine pairings were thoughtful and the meal was lovely. First Steps was the least expensive tasting menu at about $200 per person. There was also a 7-course and 10-course tasting menu I believe. It was a beautiful meal, but I wish the portions had been a little more generous, as I was still a bit hungry after. So often the case with fine dining these days.

Rating: 67/100 pts Per Me Giulio Terrinoni provides a good, upscale meal, but for me it was only average as far as Michelin experiences I've had in the past. I was satisfied with my meal, but given the chance I'd rather try a new place than repeat. *********Vitals********* Recognition: Per Me Giulio Terrinoni is one of many restaurants in Rome with a Michelin star. Cuisine: Contemporary Roman cuisine with a strong emphasis on seafood. Courses & Pricing: For dinner, they have an €80 "choose any 4" tasting menu, or a €130 "chef chooses 10" menu. They also have lunch on weekdays. Location: This location is fairly convenient for tourists, as it's not too far from Vatican City or Piazza Campo De' Fiori. Still, you must do some walking to get here from those areas. ************************* We chose the €80 "choose 4" menu. The good thing was that you can really choose any 4 things on the menu, be they appetizers, pastas, or dessert. The downside is that everyone in your party must agree on the same 4 items. Preparation is masterful and highly sophisticated, and the seafood is particularly good. I tried both the mackerel appetizer and the grouper secondi, which were highlights of the meal. Portions were very small; the 4-course meal may not completely fill you up, despite the hefty €80 price tag. Service is trying hard to be good. Trying really hard. It wasn't bad, but there were a few things that kept it from being Michelin-quality. Per Me was actually our runner-up choice for a nice meal; we initially wanted to go to Il Pagliaccio, which is nearby and has 2 Michelin stars, but were unable to get reservations. I'd recommend checking that place out first.

"Course 0" came out unexpectedly after we decided to order a glass of champagne to start

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

So happy we did as this place definitely delivers. There is seriously like 8 tables in the dining room so expect a wait in line but trust me, it's worth it. We waited outside for about 25 minutes. They do take your order while in line so the wait for food (once you do get a table) is abbreviated. Out of the world pastas and the pistachio tiramisu is seriously out of this world. Inexpensive table wine rounds out a great meal. This is the type of place I love to go to. It's quaint, zero pretense and delivers on its food. A great find!
