Visited them a few days ago for lunch. We tried their…read morefalafel, they were very good. Moist, fresh and flavourful on the inside and crispy on the outside; exactly how a good falafel should be. (7 $) We also tried their oven baked salmon entree. It was very bland, not seasoned well and a little rare. It came with parisienne potatoes with were bland too(no salt/pepper; just seasoned with garlic and dill) as was the salad which was served with the entree. (22 $) Wife had a caeser salad for lunch. The vegetables were fresh and crisp. The parmesan was generous and flavourful but the salad lacked the dressing and tasted a little bland as rest of the meal. (10 $) The tea however was very nice. It was orange pekoe tea bag, served with mint leaves and a cinnamon stick. We'll definitely try this at home. (1.50 $ each) The restaurant is located in the industrial area, in the middle of nowhere. If it weren't for the groupon we wouldn't have ventured in the area. It was lunch hour and we were the only two customers there, which was very unusual considering this is located in an area where there are companies/offices all around. I think the price of the food might have to do something with it. The food was pretty pricey for everyday office lunch. These kind of prices would have only made sense in the financial district. There was a stage there. It seemed that there would be music performance during the weekends/evenings. Wish them all the best as they are new and still discovering themselves. Would love to see them succeed and be able to draw crowd to the location. Cheers!

Dizengoff Opening…read more In recent weeks a new Middle eastern restaurant emerged on the Toronto scene. Replacing the original Dr. Laffa location the owners did some serious upgrades to both decor and menu. The food here is quite good. A different season for every dish from most of the other places in the area. I enjoyed 3 of the classic dishes. Falafel Plate which was crunchy on the outside and came with a nice Dip. The Chicken sandwich was the large portion which was great to share and was very filling. The hummus ful was a meal on its own. These 3 plates 2 guys could not put it all down and was a reasonable $30 for a sit down lunch. With a full menu and even kids options at $10 I see some great success as word will spread. Congratulations on your opening. #restaurant #torontoeats #markhameats #yelpgta #food #dinner #lunch #yum #foodie #foodblogger #eat #blogto #dizengoffca #foodreviewca #foodpics #foodporn #middleeasterncuisine #instalike #instafood #instafollow

I've been wanting to go to Salad Days ever since I learned about it on Yelp, mainly because I love…read morethe name. I use that Shakespearean expression all the time! Whenever someone brings up something foolish that I did in my youth, I touch the back of my hand to my forehead, toss my head back and proclaim "Oh but t'was in my salad days, when I was green in judgement!" LOL. I really should have been an actress! But enough about The Bard and my career choices, what about the food, right? It was good. I had the Salad Days Special ($8.49). It was romaine and iceberg lettuce, sweet potato mash, 2 dolmades (grape leaves stuffed with rice and spices), tomatoes, cucumbers, kalamata olives, feta cheese, hummus, tzatziki, and your choice of chicken, cooked salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, meatballs, smoked ham or falafel. I chose cooked salmon and asked them to hold the hummus. The salad was huge, but the majority of it was lettuce. Still, a really good deal for $8.49. The cooked salmon was a good size, which I liked. It was cold, but still flavourful and didn't smell fishy. I would have preferred it if the kalamata olives had the pits removed, but they were still ok. They have other set salads or you can make a custom salad. Their model is like Freshii, but I like them much better than Freshii. Staff were nice and efficient. So this is the location in Cumberland Terrace, just west of Yonge. They have another location really close by in The Hudson's Bay Centre, just east of Yonge. I like this one in Cumberland Terrace better because there are a few seats right next to it that is only shared with Esther Queen of the Soups customers. It's a bit more secluded. Note that the Salad Days in Cumberland Terrace is not in the main food court area.

They said they would wait for us to arrive around 7pm even though that is when they close. The Service: The service was exceptional. I think the man working there was the owner because he went above and beyond to accommodate us. I have many food allergies and he let me sub out ingredients to create the perfect meal for myself and he was extremely patient as he answered all of my questions after hours. The Food: We ordered the number 2 and 5 and the employee threw in a sample of the Thai soup for us to try. Thai Soup: The Thai soup was fantastic! It was thick, had a kick of lemon that I love and tasted delicious. We loved it so much we wish we had bought two bowls to go with our meals. #2 Bowl; My boyfriend ordered this dish as is and added tofu as his protein. It came with a peanut dressing, which he said was fantastic. The portion he received was really big and it filled him up. #5 Bowl: This bowl was a Mexican inspired bowl. I subbed out the cheese, and pita chips for more guacamole and edamame. The portion of my bowl was a little smaller than my boyfriends dish but the food was really good. It was really filling and I loved how they could accommodate my diet. Next time I might try a tangier dressing than the ranch this dish came with because I love a kick of lemon or lime juice with my meals. Would We Go Back? Absolutely !

She did not change the one glove she was wearing when she was in the back nor decided to put another glove on before handling the food with her other bare hand. This is not the first time this has happened at the Heartland location. (and she was told this the previous time). When she was addressed about how she was handling the food, she proceed to ask me if I ever went to McDonalds, I told her it doesn't matter I am in The Chopped Leaf. When asked for the mangers name and her name she said she was the manager and her name is Noor. If this how Customer Service is at this location I will not be going back as they do not follow protocol in handling food, nor do they have Customer service skills.

Their menu is pretty extensive; many options and you can actually create your own salad by checking off a checklist paper at the cash. Their dressings are all super tasty. Super cute atmosphere and front patio seating available on Ossington for people watching as you enjoy your salad. I come here regularly because it's just so tasty, and a healthier option. Highly recommend!

For take out, I ordered the Pacific Crunch which has rice noodles, cilantro, mint, shredded carrots, purple cabbage, green onions, edamame, red peppers, mango, cashews, and coconut curry shrimp. The service was quick, as it took about 10 minutes to prepare the bowl. I enjoyed the Pacific Crunch; it was very tasty and the ingredients complimented each other well. However, I am giving Mandy's 3 stars as I was very disappointed with the portion size, especially considering the price. My bowl was only 2/3 full, when compared to the bowl purchased by my friend. For the price, I would expect the bowl to be completely full, with more than 4 shrimp.
