North of Brooklyn Pizzeria - Killer bee and pepperoni

Grabbed a pizza to go…read more Ordered a half pepperoni and half killer bee. They don't let you do half on all pizzas but the first 5 or 6 on the menu. The pizza was great. Nice crust with a good chew. Good amount of toppings. Really solid New York style pizza. Dave Portnoys pizza review went to their downtown location and gave it a 8.4 if you follow him. There was no parking on Avenue but I found some parking on the residential street just North of the restaurant. The inside is really nice with comfy seating. Not a ton of seating but I think they get a lot of takeout. Service was good but I did have to wait more than the 20 mins they said as they seemed to be dealing with online orders.

Tried North of Brooklyn Pizzeria and it did NOT disappoint…read more I got the Caesar salad and a half Margherita / Killer Bee pizza, and everything was amazing. The Caesar salad was SO crunchy and fresh--like every bite had that perfect crisp, and the dressing was light but still super flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are really high quality. The pizza was just as good. The Margherita was classic and perfectly balanced, and the Killer Bee side had such a rich, unique flavor that made it stand out. And the crust? Light, slightly crispy, and just done right. Honestly such a solid spot--I'll definitely be back

There were some seating outside but it was only the one table for two people. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The only downfall was that they ran out of meat sauce so the lasagna was out of the question but they made up for it in the pizza flavours. The menu is pretty straightforward; they offer multiple types of pizza ranging from classic meat lovers to unique ones like smoked salmon or tandoori chicken. I ended up ordering the four cheese because I was in a cheesy mood. The pizza was amazing. The crust had a nice puff up but was not so crunch that it would cut the roof of your mouth. The sauce-to-dough ratio was perfect, and neither ingredient overpowered the other. The cheeses they used (Ricotta, Feta, Bocconcini and cream cheese) didn't clash with each other, and it just seemed to be a slice of cheesy goodness with every bite. The pizza was not greasy, so no mountain of napkins was needed. A must-try if your into pizza and like my nannu says in Sicilian "Veni e pigghiati 'u divertimentu" (Come and enjoy it already).

We probably made a mistake when ordering 2 large half and half pizzas as this turned out to be a very pricey pizza dinner (over $80!!) but that's not the restaurant's fault. We'll just be more mindful next time. The pizzas were good and I loved the freshness of the toppings. Unfortunately, I did not love their crust as it was too chewy for my liking. The chicken wings we got was pretty heavily breaded which is also not my favorite way to eat them. We may come back to try their more adventurous offerings.

This place gets a 5 star because the food is just so good for it's price point…read more They renovated this place 2-3 years ago so the lights now are a bit brighter. They did keep the part of the restaurant that feels a bit like you're in a Mediterranean cave. Must have here is their stone cooked pizza, there's 4 slices and is enough for one person, so would order more if sharing. Service was pretty good and friendly but they did not change our plates after shells accumulated. Highly recommend this place

Depending on where you sit, if facing the fresco wall, it feels and look (on pictures) like you are truly in Italy. If sat against the other wall, it looks like you're in Swiss Chalet lol. For apps, we chose the Italian salad and garlic bread. Garlic bread was great, warm, buttery, cheesy. The salad was not memorable, except largeish. For the mains, we chose the lasagne and spaghetti toscana, both are done well. Neither needed extra salting and balanced each other out (if you're sharing) in terms of acidity and saltiness. The let down was the dessert. The menu showed panna cotta, which was not available (they havent made any), so we chose the creme brule and tiramisu, both were great. Overall a great date lunch. Recommended if you're looking to try out a new Italian spot. Wheelchair accessible. Staff are friendly (man our server was a funny guy)!

All of the flavours with the chicken go so well together, it's such a fun and tasty, thick crusted pizza. Definitely my favourite here! The hot sauce and basil dipping sauce are great touches as well! Service - 5/5 - Friendly, fast, and efficient! Especially given how busy it gets. The space itself is fairly small with a few 2 seater tables, a large bench which is shared by several guest and a bar table space. The service was super friendly but it did take a bit of time for the food to come out. It is quite a popular place so you could see a lot of people were ordering take out. In terms of the pizza, the dough was fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. We got the Electric Avenue and Truff Guy which were both tasty but to be honest, I wasn't blown away. Maybe my expectation was set a bit high from previous raving reviews. Toppings tasted good but nothing spectacular. It's also a bit on the pricier side considering the size of the pizza. I totally get why it's a Toronto favourite, but I can't say it's my favourite pizza place.

The lemon rosemary drink was refreshing and a great earthy and sour taste. The Bomba Mozzarella was so delicious, mozzarella is my favourite cheese and it was so nice to eat it freshly made with some spicy peppers and bacon ragu. The focaccia was perfectly toasted to pair with. I love a good kale salad and the Toscana kale salad did not disappoint. I will admit it is kind of hard to pierce the kale with the fork to eat, probably easier just to scoop it up. The chicken and gnocchi was good, although the chicken was a little more charred and tough than I would've liked. Gnocchi was delicious though in the cream Alfredo sauce. Overall, great meal and service. Would definitely come back again. Great spot to come with friends and groups and just share a bunch of food.

The hostess accommodated our request for a booth, cleaned and prepped the empty seat for us. This place is decently big, lots of seats, bar and dining area is available. Pretty busy over the weekend during dinner rush. Service is prompt, fast and Jackie was very kind to explain the menu and what they recommend. We got spaghetti and meatballs, steak and mozzarella. I would say everything was as good as I expected them to be except for the meatball. It was too dense inside and not the usual signature meatball I know scaddabush offers. Would certainly not order that again. The spritz cocktail gin had too much cucumber and water taste to it, not much alcohol. Otherwise I would come here again perhaps try their happy hour as well.
