Eataly Don Mills is the Fiat to Eataly Yorkville's Lamborghini. It's smaller, practical, a grab and go location. Very mini. "Il minimarket" or "piccolo supermercato"? I browsed the pastries, cakes, sandwiches and gelato cart before settling on my purchases from the market. Savoured a cappuccino along with a cornetto alla crema (pastry cream filled croissant) while watching customers browse the pastry case. So many pizza boxes coming out of the restaurant and taken to go. Dads pushing their toddlers in strollers while feeding them bites of gourmet pizza. So many delivery orders picked up by confused food delivery drivers who were tersely greeted with exasperation and a finger pointing at the restaurant counter. My pastry was so delightful that I got a second pastry, girella crema e mandorla (almond and pastry cream filled croissant). Came here for the carbonara tasting and it was delicious! The pasta was perfectly el dente and the carbonara sauce was perfect. It also Came w deep fried cacio e pepe arancini and that was also pretty good! Wish it had more of a Parmesan taste but still held up. read more

We paid $26 per person to try three different kinds of pasta (pasta tasting), and to my surprise, all three were mainly cheesy with no meat. This would fit well for those who are vegetarian since it's mainly cheese and one with beets in it. We also ordered bruschetta; it was alright. My other friend ordered a salad and pizza. Friend and I went for a brunch and it was our first time trying out Eataly restaurant! They offer both brunch and regular lunch menus which was great. There is a store at the front where you can buy soaps from italy, pasta, etc. At the back is the restaurant. My friend took me here for lunch. I ordered the patata fritta (fried potatotes) and spaghetti pomodoro. My friend ordered the frito misto. We both just had water to drink as it was a very hot & humid day. The potatoes were good, if a little salty. The spaghetti was very salty for my taste. My friend liked the frito misto but didn't realize it would be breaded as she's on a keto diet. So she only ate a little of it. We were both full after our food so we didn't order dessert. Service was okay. Our waitress was nice but I found it hard to understand her accent. The manager came by & checked how we liked our meal which was also nice. All in all the service was good. But I didn't really enjoy the food. I would be willing to try a different dish though, to see if it was just the dish I ordered that I didn't like. read more

I visited Eataly Don Mills on a Wednesday night around 6pm without a reservation. There were many open tables but the hostess insisted we could only sit at the bar. We ordered the Tagliere Salumi e Formaggi to start. The board surprisingly came with a lot of meat and only three small pieces of cheese. It also only came with two pieces of bread. For $36, I would not order this again unless it is updated. I recommend the restaurant to add more cheese, including a soft cheese. For our mains, we got the cavatelli on the main menu (the Easter menu cavatelli was unavailable, sadly) and a pizza whose name has escaped me. Both were delicious! The pizza dough was perfectly soft and chewy. The pasta was incredibly flavourful and so unique with the broccoli and sausage combo. All in all, I would recommend visiting to try their pizzas and pastas - just know you're paying a bit more for the Eataly atmosphere. read more

I was really excited to check out Eataly, but this Don Mills location really fell short of my expectations. It's definitely smaller than the other locations and does not have as many counters as the other ones. It simply has a full restaurant and a quick service pastry and coffee bar on the other side. In between there are minimal pantry items, a small open air fridge section and a singular fridge of fresh pasta pre-portioned. There is also only one singular self service register. Overall, I wasn't too impressed and it's highly unlikely I will be back to this location. read more

Went a couple weeks ago on a Friday evening with friends and with reservations. The place was nice and I've bought items from their store before but never tried from their restaurant. They had a 2 course menu for about $38, which only included one app (bruschetta) and a pasta (creamy with cheese). Because they didn't have other options we just ordered one set, a pizza, the fresh cheese app with tomatoes and seafood pasta with tomato sauce. Our favourite dish was the seafood pasta, the pasta with just cheese should be eaten hot because once it gets cold it is a bit hard. The pizza was good and crust was soft and bready. I think I had higher expectations of this place but everything seemed okay, nothing that wowed us. Esp with the higher prices and what we got, I don't think I would eat here again. The fresh burrata was good, but doesn't come with any bread or crackers so they ask you if you want to add it on top. Overall, I would say it is good but not exceptional as the prices does not reflect what you can usually get at a good Italian restaurant. read more

I've been here twice. The ravioli was decent, but it wasn't very filling considering it was a main and the portion wasn't much. I tried the tiramisu which I had high expectations for - taste wise it was one of the better tiramisu's I've had, but wayyyy too much cream. The ratio was off. During another visit, my friend and I tried the sphagetti and we both mentioned it tasted like something we could make at home with minimal effort. Our other friend ordered a pricier pasta which tasted pretty good (I can't remember the name though), but again very small portions. read more

Visited the new Eataly at Shops at Don Mills for lunch today on Sunday. Not bad, many seats available, but to be sure you can make reservations via OpenTable App/website. The main Eataly market area is small compared to other locations, they have self serve checkout for the market area which was nice. The restaurant I first thought was a small area, but there's two sides of the restaurant. We had a few kids in our party and they ordered from the kids menu which gave a choice of pasta or pizza. The pizza they allowed different shapes such as classic round, shape of a heart or shape of a bunny. Adding extra toppings cost a nominal amount per topping. I ordered the PEI Striploin with arugula and Crispy Potato. The Striploin I asked for medium rare, and it was served exactly like that. The Striploin tasted really good and I enjoyed it very much. The crispy potato was interesting as I've never had a potato in such a style before and was absolutely delicious. read more

Thing that bugged me most was that I asked for no cheese on pizza (allergy) which they complied, and then offered a dip/sauce instead (server didn't indicate there would be an additional charge). Unfortunately, it wasn't really suitable as a pizza dip (maybe it was mayonnaise?), so I left it behind. Bill came and they'd charged $3 for this TINY sauce. It was already a $26 pizza AND they saved the cheese. Why do these places nickel-and-dime customers like this? So over $100 for 3 pizzas at lunch, including tip ('cause we're not jerks) . I swung by with my daughter to grab a slice of pizza for my daughter on a cold wintry afternoon. This was our first time visiting the Don Mills location and I was happy to see that it was well stocked with spreads, pasta sauces, pasta, cheeses, and more. Since we were in a rush, we grabbed a slice (or should i say a square) of Margherita pizza and my daughter absolutely loved it. She is somewhat of a pizza connoisseur and she thoroughly enjoyed that Margherita, devouring the whole slice right down to the fragrant basil leaves. I am looking forward to bringing her back to try out their pasta and maybe next time I'm in a rush for a quick vite in the area, I would like to grab one of their delicious looking sandwiches for the road. read more

This review is for the restaurant. As Eataly recently opened at Shops at Don Mills, some friends and I decided to come by for dinner. We had a reservation and were promptly seated. After placing our orders the waitress asked if we wanted all our food to come at the same time. We requested to have our appetizers come first. Unfortunately the first thing that came was my friend's pizza. We told the server we requested the appetizers first and he seemed confused so we just accepted the pizza. The appetizers showed up afterwards, but the mains took quite a while to come out, especially as my friend already finished their pizza. For appetizers we had the charcuterie board and the fritto misto di mare. The charcuterie was decent, however the seafood in the fritto misto di mare was lacking flavour. Our mains were lacking as well. I got the ravioli and the pasta was still hard. The pizza was soggy. The squid ink pasta was lacking flavour. The lasagna was however decent. We also got tiramisu for dessert which was probably the highlight of the meal. Unfortunately rest of the experience was pretty disappointing. read more

I came to Eataly Don Mills for the summerlicious menu; the lemon pasta did not disappoint, but the fried artichoke was more fried than artichoke. The saving grace of the latter dish was the dip that came with it. The interior is beautifully done with high ceilings and cute little floral arrangements at each table. It was busy for the summer and was reasonably loud given the number of people dining in. The service was good for the number of people; it was efficient and prompt. I wouldn't go out of my way for this specific location, but I would dine at an Eataly again if I was nearby. read more

It was risky going on a Friday night to a new location without a reservation. We said that we would eat at the bar and they took us right away. It was amusing to watch drinks and desserts be prepared behind the bar. Service was good. We ordered: Aperol spritz - solid Tomato foccaccia - maybe a bit oily, but tasty Pizza with ham, olive and artichoke - crust had a nice chew but was very floppy in the middle Halibut - the star of our meal. I have been to many Eataly around the world and have always thought the quality was high but pricy for what it is. It serves its purpose. I can accept a premium when the service is good and the food as well. Unfortunately this location had terrible service, from the host to the waiter to the kitchen. Reservations were not respected, we all had to wait in line as if we had walked in, meaning 30-45 minutes after your reservation time. The servers had no idea about the food and the table Next to me sent their meal back twice! Their chicken was cold twice! We had a pizza and rapini. I ordered red wine and they brought the wrong bottle. The pizza was mediocre and the rapini were burnt, bitter and completely inedible. I want more higher end restaurants uptown and in the east end, I had every hope for this location to fill that void, but instead I felt put off, like the Don Mills community just did not warrant the quality and service provided in Yorkville. read more

Came to the new Eataly in Toronto to check out their summer menu. I've been to a few eatalys around the world now and this has got to be one of the smallest stores. There is a small grocery section next to the prepared foods area. Then it leads to a small restaurant. That's right, there is only one small restaurant in this eataly. It wasn't very impressive compared to their counterparts globally. We ordered two pastas for lunch along with a rustic bread and salad appetizer. All the dishes were made with care and simply let the fresh ingredients shine through. Like most eatalys, this store does a good job on the food. Other than its small size, this location serves excellent food and service was satisfactory. The plus for this location is that there is free parking. Overall, it's a place I can see myself visiting again! read more

Absolutely garbage!! The pasta sauce taste bad and the ground beef they use is dry and the noodles is hard. The steak was rough and the chicken was so dry. The worse is the server has no experience. Did not change our plate from appetizers and napkin was taken away after main meal and no other napkin was provided for desert. Management ask us to leave after 2 hours of seeing. I was looking forward to having an Eataly that is more accessible outside of downtown Toronto. This Eataly is an utter disappointment. It is small, and has no selection. The gelato is located in a small ice cream cart and they do not have cannoli. The person I asked seemed to indicate that they will never have cannoli. Don't waste your time. Wait a year or two and hopefully an Eataly with full selection will open in the Eaton Centre as opposed. read more

Went for lunch with my wife. Started with Bruschetta, it was like rubber. Went onto the Pasta, Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese that came and both my wife's and mine had all the noodles stuck together. For an Italian place you think they would know how to cook pasta. Lunch for two $170, very pricey. I won't be returning. We were told the wait was 15 minutes that turned out to be 30 minutes but could not understand as when we were seated we saw 15 open tables, I think they are just trying to create lines to try to get people in. For a so called Italian restaurant this place is worse than a food court. And the cook is likely a short order guy that is just learning. read more
