We ordered the Fried Seafood Platter for around $30, thinking that it could be a decent amount of items, but what came out was really just a $15 dish, and there was still oil left in the plate that hadn't even been drained properly. Pastas were good. Nice presentations. I asked for an overcooked Spaghetti Bolognese as I like soft noodles. It was nicely cooked with a lot of minced meat in the sauce. The Carbonara was okay too. But $25 for each dish seemed too much. Overall it was a good experience, but the prices were too high. I could have gone to downtown for a better experience with the same price. I've driven past 9Baci almost every day for the past few years thinking, "I really need to try that place." And I finally did! My boyfriend picked it for our dinner date since he's mentioned it a bunch of times and had nothing but good things to say. We showed up on a Saturday evening, walked in, and quickly realized we accidentally crashed someone's engagement party. We turned around to leave, but Jason (the owner or manager) caught us at the door and said they were setting up some tables for walk-ins. He asked if we could wait a few minutes, and honestly, he was so friendly about it, we were happy to. We started with the Prosciutto & Fior Di Latte Grigliata, and wow... that was so good!!! Milky cheese wrapped in prosciutto that was slightly cooked, giving it a subtle smoky flavour, and the balsamic drizzle added a sweet, tangy kick. It was simple but SO good. I already want to go back just for that dish. For our main, we shared the Prosciutto & Arugula pizza. Thin crusted, with generous amount of prosciutto and arugula, and just enough shaved parm and balsamic to give it that little extra something. Everything just worked together perfectly. Totally satisfied my pizza craving. They usually have specials on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and even weekends, but Jason let us know they didn't have them that night because the kitchen staff had been working events all day and needed a bit of a breather. Totally fair, and everything we had was still great. The date was already lovely, but then came the sweetest surprise... they brought us Cinnamon Sugar Baci on the house!! Fresh fried dough tossed in cinnamon sugar with Nutella on the side as dip. The dough was soft and pillowy in every bite. So satisfying! And just when we thought we were done, they brought us cappuccinos, also on the house. What a sweet way to end the night. The food was fantastic, but honestly it was the hospitality that stood out the most. Jason and the team made us feel really welcome. 9Baci is one of the best Italian restaurants in the neighborhood! From the minute you walk in it feels like being welcomed by family. The place is beautifully decorated and the food is always good. Pick anything on the menu and enjoy, it's all good and well priced. My girlfriend and I had the grilled prosciutto for an appetizer, in addition we had a arugala and prosciutto pizza for our main. It had a beautiful smokey oven flavour and it was very rich and savoury. I highly recommend, take yourself and others to 9Baci! read more

It's very frustrating because I never thought I would be leaving such a low review. Cathy has bit off more than she can chew. She cannot keep up with the commitments she makes. I had a funeral and could not attend an event. She promised me in writing a refund and has told me "I'll send it tonight" many times but it is months later and still nothing. The other refund I am waiting for is for an event that she postponed without notifying the guests until less than an hour before it started. I don't live close by and had to turn around because I received a call that it was posted at 11AM Sunday that the event starting at 12AM is postponed to a random Tuesday night in June. That new date does not work for me and as I was inconvenienced for driving before the information was posted she promised a refund and a lunch on the house. I have not received that refund either. She ignores my many messages but continues to frequently post on Instagram. I can see my messages are seen yet ignored. She will randomly say "I will etransfer later tonight promise" yet it's been months and still nothing. I come regularly in the summer and I come to many events that 9baci hosts. I was even planning on doing a large party at the restaurant. If this is how Cathy runs her business I'm not sure I would ever want to return. These were refunds that she promised and offered. I don't understand why she would make a commitment and a decision if she has no intention to honour it. It's been months so now I have finally given up on a response to my messages. Hopefully this review will allow me to finally get my refund as my etransfer is automatic so she doesn't even need to give me a password. read more

We were seated rather quickly and our orders were taken promptly. Our party of four all had something different. The food was good, not great. Service was good not great. The atmosphere was loud and made conversing next to impossible. I would not choose to dine hear again if we were to return. read more

9 Baci fails to follow up with customers as promised. Very unprofessional customer service. We booked a very special family event and had to cancel after invitations were already mailed out. We booked our venue months ahead of time only to be told that another event was booked at the same time and were given the spot that was promised to us. We had to find an alternative venue at the last minute. Owner would not even take my phone calls or come out to apologize when staff returned our deposit. Very disappointed in the poor customer service. Have everything in writing before booking any event at 9Baci. Will definitely not be returning to this restaurant again. Two of us went for dinner last night and it was an ok experience, hence the 3 out of 5 rating. Service was good and our waiter was pleasant and tentative when needed. The food on the other hand was lacking taste and very skimpy on the toppings. We ordered the Arugula salad with pear and prosciutto. The prosciutto was good but the salad had no taste and the cheese shavings were scarce at best. Then we shared a Carne pizza which barely had any sausage topping...this pizza was $18, certainly not worth it! Please bear in mind that I am not a fan of pizza or Italian food in general, but as always I will strive to be as objective as possible with my review. I certainly do not hate Italian food (aside from the calories) and hence my visit here for lunch. They were not busy at noon, but became half full by 12:30. Service was tepid and stern. The lone waiter was hardly present and did not do a quality check. No restaurant or service should ever rely on a single person because as soon as it becomes the lone employee become a single point of failure. With the restaurant half full we had to flag the man down for everything and while he was not rude or hostile in any way he was not smiling or present either. Food did arrive quickly however. Their pride is their pizza oven, but not being into pizza I had the Orecchiette Barese and they were not kidding about the garlic. It was garlicky. I rather liked it. Was anyone going to kiss me that afternoon? Probably not, but I felt cleansed and stinky after that! Seriously, the pasta well done and the meat was tasty. Quantity was just adequate and the price at $23.00 fair. The place demands a minimum of 18% for tip and I still say 'stop lying and price your food as they are, restaurants.' Dropped by 9Baci for a quick bite on a Monday night to an empty restaurant. The service here was fast and friendly even with the one waitress as there was just another table aside from mine. Moretti though listed as one of the drafts but it was not available but nicely they have Barking Squirrel from Hop City instead. And they were nice enough to give me extra a pint instead of half pint for the same price.. (smile) Spaghetti Aglio Olio ($9.50) though the portion was smallish but was cooked perfectly al dente. I really wanted to try their Pizza Nutella as dessert or even order a pizza as main. I guess I can try those next visit. Yes, there will be a next visit! read more

Loud, crowded, backed up in the kitchen and overpriced for the calibre of food. Where do I start? They sat us at a table that was way too small for our group, with one person on the end that did not have room for her plate. Tables are very close together and it just feels too crowded to enjoy. We waited more than an hour for our appetizers and at that point had not ordered our mains. During which time the live music was very very loud which made it impossible to carry on a conversation. There was no break in the musics and at times it was like the singers were shouting into the microphone. My husband said his calamari was pretty good but the bruschetta with burrata was served on a tasteless pizza crust that was very bready and soggy. Not much taste in the entire dish. Very disappointing. Once we ordered our mains, it took another hour for them to arrive. My husband didn't mind his veal Parmesan. My chicken limone was so bland that I asked for Parmesan cheese to flavour it a bit. Then we asked for salt which added flavour to the sauce. The chicken looked and tasted like it was boiled with not a speck of browning on it. Someone in our party had the risotto which was described as dry, hard and bland. Another had the veal scallopini which was tough and chewy. No flavour. We all ended up using the salt shaker. I would have given 1 star but there was a few saving graces: *free dessert that was the highlight of the meal *our waiter was funny and kept apologizing for the ikitchen being so backed up *the owner's daughter had a beautiful singing voice and sang a couple good songs. Ugh. Just thinking of the what I ate makes me cringe. The only reason this place gets a star (aside from the fact that you cannot give someone zero stars), is the service - it was great and fast. Problem is, I don't go to restaurants for service - I go to restaurants to eat, and this is the worst food I've had in a while. My penne alla vodka was all lemon juice (?!) and little else - still have heartburn. The ricotta cheesecake tasted like an overly sweet supermarket off the shelf variety. I made a reservation roughly 1 week in advance to host my daughter's birthday with her friends. 2 hours before dinner, I receive a phone call from Jaosn at 9 Baci telling me that they took our reservation by accident and need to cancel on is because they rented out the whole restaurant for a party. When I told them that they should be embarrassed, the kitchen manager got on the phone and told me not to be rude, the proceeded to tell me to go f*ck myself. Exciting !Finally a italian restaurant/ take out with some style. In maple and oh so close to King City. They offer an extensive take out menu consisting of classic pressed and hot pressed paninis, A variety of pastas from penne with a fresh tomato sauce, spaghetti with meat sauce, to cheese stuffed angnelotti in brown butter sage and toasted hazelnuts and more. A coffee bar serving expresso, lattes, macchiato, hot chocolate and teas and all with style. Today I came in for take out. The pizza is prepared exceptionally. Its made from one of the best Italian stone ground soft wheat flour. Its allowed to slow rise for 48 hrs and let me tell you it is light, fluffy and crispy. The dough is salted perfectly. I always order my pizza well done, its just the Southern in me. Service was friendly and very accommodating, The sit down looked modern and elegant. Been here over a handful of times. It's a cute little restaurant in a corner store. Love the specials and the fried calamari! It's always fresh and home made, never disappoints. It is pricey but worth it if your in the Vaughan area. The staff are relatable and present at all times, you won't have to stare anyone down to get a glass of water refilled! After driving by this place numerous times we finally decided to try it We started with an order of calamari which was ok but under seasoned. The kids had penne alla vodka which was again under seasoned but pasta was cooked well. Stopped in for dinner with a friend. Apparently this used to be an old bakery and was somewhat recently revamped into a restaurant. I ordered the soup of the day and I wish I remember what it was called. It had prosciutto and potato in it and was amazing!! (And gluten free!) I also ordered a pizza with arugula, prosciutto, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella drizzled with olive oil and balsamic. Despite having just eaten soup (and having a rather large lunch only three hours earlier) I ate 3/4 of the pizza. It. Was. Amazing!! Honestly, the BEST gluten free pizza I've ever had - hands down! The flavors worked so perfectly together, the crust was crispy and tasted like normal pizza! Biggest bonus - didn't get sick at all! They take gfree seriously! Prices are pretty reasonable - especially the prices for the pizzas! They also have a gelato bar at the other end. All very yum and the guy working there is great! No doubt the property needed a restaurant like this. I am happy one is here. Menu choices are ok. Its very plain and simple. I have been 3 times. Each time I come to conclude this; Foods are prepared in advance with no pizzaz. My pasta's were very al dente and my sauces bland. I get the feeling that it's been in the fridge for days and someone just warmed it up. The pizza's are nothing spectacular. And food is NOT consistent. One important thing you will determine is that your clothing will smell when you leave as the ventilation is poor. Sorry guys but this is a great place but I think the owners having kids run the place is not a great idea. When you spend money on food you want to make sure its quality first. I'm not getting that feeling when I'm here. Do Maple a favour. We don't need a sandwich joint. Get a great chef and serve food you don't normally eat at home. Meatballs? Calamari? Penne alla vodka? First time I visited 9Baci, was for a friends 30th birthday. With a large group of 15, we sat in 2 different spots due to last minute reservation changes. The wait for food seemed longer than unusual, especially since I ordered a thin crust pizza which shouldn't take more than 2 minutes in a wood burning oven. The waiter seemed overwhelmed, and was sweating profusely. However, he recognized they were slow due to large groups on Saturday evenings, and apologized for the wait on our drinks & food. My boyfriend and I ordered the "Cesare Salad" to start. Warm bits of pancetta made it to the salad. The flavor was excellent. Not like any other Cesar salad I've tried. The dressing was generously applied with shaven layers of parmesan and the portion was large! I ordered the Nduja pizza again, only this time, I asked for extra nduja ($2.50). For those who dont know what Nduja is, its a spicy, spreadable pork sausage from Calabria, Italy. It is typically made with parts of the pig such as the shoulder, belly and jowl, as well as tripe, roasted peppers and a mixture of spices. Not a fair amount was applied. I was expecting it to be generously covered with nduja. The fior di latte which was on my pizza was excellent, warm and gooey. My boyfriend ordered the "Melenzane & Soppressata" pizza. He liked it, but said it lacked a bit of flavor and that mine was better and will definitely be ordering it next time. So yes, there will be a next time! Tried this place last week just went in for a coffee & dessert. Restaurant was busy and no hostess at the door, but she eventually decided to show up & seat us! There seem to be only 1 waitress working, poor girl was running from one end of the restaurant to the other. Had a chance to finally check out Baci9. Food was amazing! I went with a group so we got to sample many things on the menu. Deep fried mozzarella sandwich with tomato sauce... Delish. Calamari was great too. I ordered a panzo which was ok. Typical. Nothing to brag about. But... The pear and prosciutto salad was stellar! Very very good. Dressed beautifully! Pizzas were great. That stone bake just what it needed. Awesome variety. We had a few ppl order pastas and the mushroom one was the winner. Overall... Food was phenomenal. The service I must say was very poor. One server. Poor girl was running around the joint like there was a kitchen fire! I almost felt the need to lend a hand. Funny enough... There was another lady just lounging behind the bar!!! Unreal! The food was delicious and the portion size was fantastic, but the only downfall from giving this restaurant a 4 or 5 was the waiter Frank whom myself and my collegues found very disrespectful and impatient. His tone and attitude was not pleasant or appreciated. Upon walking in I wasn't pleasantly surprised to find a changed set up and decor from the old cafe that was in this location. The decor was nice, had a rustic/modern look to it. We were seated righted away (also the only ones in the restaurant at the time), and we sat in the "dining" room area. Upon viewing the menu I found an interesting appetizer, pizza dough filled with cheese served with marinara sauce. I asked the server about it and she said it wasn't very good it's like having grilled cheese. Note to owners: inform your staff not to comment negatively about the food before ordering any food otherwise your customers won't be sure that any of it will be good. Did order the caprese salad, it was good. The complimentary bread and olive tapenade was also good. Ordered pizza one plain cheese with olives (for kids) one verdure (eggplant and zucchini and provolone. They were also good. Waitress did not come and ask if I needed anything else (she wasn't busy with other customers???). I had to ask for the bill, a box, the interac machine. I could understand if the place was busy and she was alone but there was another young girl working but just sat at the counter talking to another young gentlemen who worked there. 9 Baci get your act together on ensuring service is fast, efficient and attentive to customer's needs or you won't have any repeat customers. i'm a student that goes to the high school nearby, so i decided to try this place out for lunch on my break. walking in, i noticed a group of younger students crowded around the order counter while an older woman took their order and brought their food to them fairly quickly. after they were done, (and the counter was free of clutter) my friends and i waited about 5 minutes for the same waitress to "take our order". not only did she just assume what food we already wanted (by asking what type of pizza we want), she was also extremely rude and unfriendly. you could tell she did not want to be there. after my friends had ordered their food, she had her back facing me while asking me what i want. i barely had the chance to say "veal sandwich" before being rudely cut off with "you can't order that, it's gonna take a while. the kitchen is too busy. this takeout area is just for pizza and stuff". not willing to purchase anything else from this restaurant, i left on an empty stomach. i was confused about a few things however; first, i didn't know that i was only allowed to order pizza since i'm a student. second, i'm italian, and i know that a veal cutlet doesn't take very long to cook at all so i didn't understand that excuse. third, the restaurant was only serving 2 tables of 2 people so i don't understand how the kitchen could be so busy that they didn't have time to make me the simple order i (KINDLY) asked for. also, i noticed a group of 3 older people, that were clearly on their work break, getting seated and served by the time my friends were done their pizza and we left. so they had time to seat and serve a table of three but couldn't cook up a piece of meat and put it in some bread? i don't get it. overall, i live in this area and have never visited an italian bakery/restaurant with customer service this horrible. extremely dissapointing. i will not be coming back or recommending this place to friends or family. read more
