Went here for a birthday party. Was very spacious and the service was very attentive. I actually mentioned to the waiter that it was a for a birthday, and even though they said we had to buy a dessert (which the birthday girl said no to) they still brought out a small scoop of ice cream with a sparkler. Food wise it was a mix. The pizza and appetizer were good but sadly our pasta mains were really bad. I would recommend their pizzas as they have a stone pizza oven but the pasta was so sad. I got the Cacio Pepe which was their special that day... and there was basically no pepper, a bit of parm on top and the sauce was super watery. There's also suppose to be guanciale in it but I saw maybe 3 small pieces. I also added chicken to the dish which was cold chunks of chicken breast. I was so sad with my pasta . I don't think all the food is bad but avoid the pasta. They had great drinks. We got a orange rosemary Moscow mule which was delicious. It is the birthday girl's go to place in King City and I think it's fairly popular with the locals. I just probably got unlucky with my choice. read more

Motorino is an unique experience with a large indoor and a glass covered (enclosed) patio that can host large groups. It is themed around Vespas and other two-wheeled scooters/motorbikes) and has two types of ovens for making pizza. They served great apps, pizzas, and drinks. Just keep away from the pasta. Not sure if this is just local tastes/traditions, but the pastas was all over the place, one was way overcooked, the other had terrible sauce, being underwhelming, missing cheese/cream/whatever the menu indicates and is overall poorly executed. We got extra protein and for the price was very disappointed to received cold cubed chicken instead of an entire chicken breast! All in all, great place for large groups, the decor is nice, but really stick to just the apps, pizzas, and drinks, nothing else. The pizza menu has two options for firing, the wood or limestone ovens, they are light and crispy and the pizzas with toppings are well topped. Pizza sizes are about 12". The drinks were a great blend of familiar and modern takes of the classics. Example, they have Moscow Mules, but also have it with orange and maple syrup. Staff was great, they came around often and the bill splitting was easy, no random extra charges for the group fee or a bill split fee. The range is about 50$ per person for a good time, it's about medium priced, nowadays. If we are in the area again, will stop by for pizza! read more

Great portions, good flavours Atmosphere: The restaurant is very large, with an outdoor patio and dozens of tables inside. We were seated near the kitchen, and it was a very casual atmosphere with families and friends at several tables, with a few large groups and mostly smaller tables of 3 or 4. Food: The portions were very good, considering the menu pricing. The pizza was much larger than a typical individual pizza, with loads of arugula on our chiaro pizza. The wood burning style pizza was not too charred, and had a nice crispy crust with a hint of chew. The flavour of the pizza was a bit on the lighter side, with the tomato not coming through and it was mainly the arugula and proscuitto taste. The malfadine pasta was also a fairly good portion, albeit lacking in some creaminess. The pasta had a strong mushroom truffle flavour, as it should, and was more earthy than creamy. Service: The servers were a bit too out of the way and it was difficult to flag them down for napkins, water, and even the bill. It may have been where we were sat, or perhaps because they had a few large tables to take care of, but it was a bit lacking. Good hearty meal if we can't make the trek to Vaughan, may drop by again to try another pizza and pasta on the menu. read more

Gnocchi were like tough and dense and not light and pillow-like as gnocchi should be Arancini balls we're ok Fried calamari was underseasoned Special vegetarian Soup broth was light but underseasoned and bland. I would probably give it 3 1/2 if I could. Went for a family dinner on Friday. Enjoyed the polenta fries, and arancini appetizers. Our appetizers were hit and miss. The avocado primers pasta and Siciliana pizza were under seasoned but were much better after adding some chilli flakes, salt and fresh pepper. We visit Motorino Downtown location regularly and thought we would try out the King location. However I am very disappointed with the quality at this location. The amount of spicy sausage on the Nduja pizza was laughable, there was less than a quarter of the amount normally. Refer to the photo. read more

We were super excited to come here for brunch seeing how unique their menu were but we were thoroughly disappointed. The menu sounded better than it taste and look. Starting off with the eggs Benedict, it was just 2 tiny eggs on toast with bacon and one the egg was fully cooked. There were no sides, just a few wilted fruits as garnish. Moving on to the uova in purgatoria, served with two croissants and bacon, it was super salty that we couldn't even eat it. We told our waitress about the overwhelming salt level but they didn't offer to remake it for us or take it off the menu. That was disappointing from a service level. Lastly, the breakfast pizza, it's was nothing spectacular, literally just dough, bacon and an egg. I noticed pretty much all their menu is served with bacon which to me, lacks creativity and variety. This place is an absolute mess. Made a 6:15PM reservation for Saturday to celebrate a birthday after wanting to try it for some time. Upon arriving, there were 6-8 other parties standing at the small entrance/waiting area as the 6PM dinner rush had all arrived, the hostess' were all overwhelmed and confused. Finally when it got to us advised I had made a reso under name ABC... hostess got distracted to seat 2 other tables before coming back to me and asked if I was XYZ.. like did not care at all. Finally got seated, they did not check vaccinations. Got seated on the enclosed, heated patio which was very nice for the 100km/hr windy day we had. Waitress came to introduce herself - I asked for water all around. I specific regular water and she asked "sparking or flat" so I said flat...upon the end of our meal she asked if we needed more water or if we were ok- I requested for a refill as it's just water...right? wrong (see below). Ordered a bunch of appetizers (arancini, polenta fries, pizza) and some mains (penne alla vodka, veal, lamb shank, spaghettini carbonara, fettucine veal meatballs). The food was extremely mediocre. Polenta fries was ridiculous. $15 for 6 small pieces lol. The fettucine was undercooked as some pasta had stuck together and did not cook evenly. Plating of dishes looked appetizing but unfortunately did not waste the same way. I was taken aback when our bill came. We were charged $7 x 2 for bottles of water. That is daylight robbery. I am fine with paying for drinks but I was not expecting this as I am more than certain I requested for regular water. Very dishonest of our server. No idea why this restaurant was so busy. Hidden gem on King Road and Dufferin street. Beautifully decorated. Staff are welcoming and give good service. Great selection of food on the menu to choose from. They also feature daily specials. Girls night out we ordered a bunch of apps. We were so full we couldn't order the many different entrees offered. We started with the Zucchini flowers prepared in a light batter. Next was the deep fried calamari and shrimp with a lemon roasted garlic sauce on the side. Again delicious. We followed this with the meatless eggplant balls in a tomato sauce and a stracietella cream brulee on top.and pizza Chairo dressed with tomatoes sauce, arugula, prosciutto, fiore Di latte cheese and shaved Parmesan. Came for Sunday brunch and it was quite empty, it seems like no one really knows about their brunch hours on the weekends. We ordered a frittata and the french toast which were both pretty good. You can pick any number of toppings to put in the frittata. The French toast was stuffed with bananas and came with some fresh berries, which helped offset the sweetness of the toast and the syrup. Brunch items ranged from $12-$15 which I find well worth it considering brunch prices in Toronto. Only thing was that since the restaurant wasn't busy, service was a little slow especially since it's quite a large space. read more

Our local go to restauran! don't go during the week or a holiday. New Year's Eve - we were only two couples sitting on patio at 9:00. we were still eating apps when our lobster dinner arrived. we sent it back as we were not ready - only to have manager come to us and say that he can't guarantee we will get it back as they were running out of the lobster. ok......(what?). $300 later so disappointing. Tonight we decided to try it again! Started with a salad, dinner arrives. we sent it back. waiter came over and said how long before you want your dinner (5-10-15 minutes)! he commented we looked in a rush! Seriously! For a restaurant that is themed around a fast vehicle, they have exceptionally slow service ... We were seated in an area of the restaurant that was freezing cold. For a bit the lights completely turned off and we were left in the dark with servers passing by us. I will say some of the pizzas were very good but the pasta serving was embarrassingly small, come on now. Also if you're gluten free STAY AWAY, the gluten free pizza was not good at all. Our first time at this location, ( definitely last time too) The entire night was a complete shamble... Omg $19 for a 6 oz glass of Pinot Grigio... Cheese board was fine, calimaire was very chewy, Our main course all came at different times, actually one pastas dish was sent back ..(ridiculously undercooked ..how it made it to a table is incredible), then was returned( slightly less undercooked) after the complete table had finished there dinners.... poor person eat alone, never an apology, and no manager even bother to show up at the table to apologize or explain why things went horrible wrong... there are many better place to spend your hard earned money & enjoy a meal than this place...... read more

After home cooking all winter, we were ready to go have a sit down meal anywhere. The wife wanted Italian, so we went to Motorino North as they were close by. Made reservations for lunch. We ordered a ton of food - way too much to be honest. But our server was awesome! We started with some grilled octopus and a pizza. Both were delightful. One of my favourite places for pizza - their dough is so light and chewy! My wife ordered the fettichini with veal meatballs. The fettichini was cooked perfectly al dente and the veal meatballs were amazing! I ordered their burger with fries. I know...italian restaurant...but i was craving a burger. And I was pleasantly surprised as the burger was thick, juicy and flavourful, and the fries! Wedges with truffle oil and crusted parmigiano cheese! To die for!!! My wife and I have dined at Motorino king city a few times and unlike the experience of other patrons posting here have always found the food and service impeccable. The staff have been courteous friendly and prompt. We called for reservations on both occasions and the only availability was seating at a high top table which was still quite comfortable. The ambiance very cool love the red and scooter theme. The food was authentic Italian with a modern touch. At our first visit I had the octopus as an app. I have eaten octopus at high end and family restaurants all over the globe. The portion was large, delicious, tender and satisfying. One of the best octopus I have ever had .... when I visited again I was looking forward to this treat again but to my horror it was gone from the menu.. instead was an octopus carpaccio salad which I tried. It was nice and quite tasty but did not have the oomph that the regular dish had ... I Told the owner that I thought it was a mistake to remove that lovely dish and he gave me his personal number and advised to call a few days before coming and the chef will prepare it just for me ! Wow I though this is personal service par Excellence .. I had the pizzas twice for my mains each time crispy and tender and satisfied my craving for pizza . They have three ways they prepare it, various Italian cooking styles and brought hot chilies and hot pepper olive oil to accompany the pizza. My wife had a pizza on the first visit Which she thought was delicious and a pasta dish on the second visit, with ricotta and lobster stuffed pasta in a light tomato sauce Which was also delicious. For dessert we shared the tiramisu Which was to die for ...and it was divine on both occasions. The wine list was satisfactory although they seed To be out of many of the listed wines I ordered On both my visits but their substitutions were fine. Cappuccino and the double espressos were great and our overall experience was excellent. The portions are large and the price points are good for this very authentic Italian restaurant with a fun vibe... highly recommended and found my experience very different than the other posters to yelp. My boyfriend and I went and ended up spending close to $100 for 2 penne Alla vodkas, an appetizer & 2 6oz glasses of wine. Went to Motorino last night for the first time. Love the decor but the food is even more spectacular. Polenta fries were the best I've had and the Burrata was amazing. Sunday November 19 party of 12 we went to Motorino in King City let me tell about this place the service sucks it is so slow and the food it goes hand and hand with the service for example the soup of the day was cold and had to send it back the margarita pizza was so soggy had to send this back to have it cook a little crispy came back soggy. I don't think the chef or chef's have enough experienced. I am sure there are a lot of people that feel the same it may look good on the inside but to bad the can't make the food taste as good. After the re-opening of patios, my friend wanted to celebrate her birthday here. Last night around 6pm, a group of us met up at the King location. Here are all the items that need to be corrected: 1) The music on the patio was way too loud. It so loud that we were yelling across the table to each other which seemed ridiculous on a patio....not a nightclub. Our server stated that it was one button to turn off and on. That was a complete lie. Speakers have setting to increase and decrease. Did she think we were stupid? She did. 2) The calamari appetizer that they served us was really small. But, as the night progressed, other tables seemed to have larger platters filled. 3) The complimentary bread that they said was in the oven, came out as if it was bought from Coppa's next door. Not warm or soft. Then they tell us that another order may be delayed as they are quite busy. This is just ridiculous. It's an Italian restaurant, right? No bread. Seriously!!! 4) My pear salad came out with an avocado on top of it. Our server did not advise of the change until it was brought out (almost an hour later). What of I was allergic to avocados? I was about to suggest to have their kitchen staff go over to the Coppa's to purchase some pears so people can enjoy what the order and not have to eat a concoction that was made with what the had in the kitchen. I travelled to celebrate my friend's birthday from North York (1/2 hour) away. I will never come back to the establishment as it has so many problems. This made my return to patios quite disappointing. I hope my next experience elsewhere will be better than this garbage. read more

I had gone to Motorino one Saturday night in a group of four around 8p.m. Upon arrival, we were told there was an hour long wait time. Considering the time of night and surrounding choices, we decided to wait. A little over an hour goes by and we decided to call them to ask if it was okay to go inside. Apparently it has been available for a while but we weren't notified of anything. There was also a 1-2 inch bug on the floor walking around as soon as we got inside. The waiter made up our table outside (due to 'reservations' coming in for indoor tables. Keep in mind there was a sad excuse of a heater in the tent that didn't even touch the building wall, aka October wind was really getting to us. We kept our jackets on the entire time. The waiter was decently nice, however no question of drinks was brought up. The appetizer of meat/cheese platter also came with rock hard bread. Once they brought out regular bread a while after the platter, 3-4 waiters/waitresses came all around us to deliver our food. The food itself was pretty good with portions being moderate as well. Overall, if you have time for some good food (not appetizers) and don't mind dealing with slow service, it's a decent choice. read more

This was probably the worst I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I took my children to Motorino in King City for lunch today. I ordered the special, eggplant risotto w/ burrata. I took my first bite and thought the risotto had a tangy taste to it. I then tried the burrata on top. It was so sour that I discreetly spit it out. I thought perhaps it was my taste buds and asked my son to taste it. He immediately said, "OMG that's disgusting" and spit it out. I then called the waiter over and let him know that the meal was horrible and that the burrata was bad. He apologized and removed my plate. They asked if they could get me something else? I asked for a pasta dish to go because my kids were almost finished with their meals by the time I got someone's attention to take my food back. The waiter had come back and said, "The kitchen said the burrata was sour." I then was handed the bill from our original waitress and she said, "We comped your pasta." I looked at the bill and there were still three entrees on the bill. I said, "Excuse me? I thought you said you comped my pasta? It's still on the bill." She said, "We comped the sour pasta, that's for your substitute." I looked at her and said, "What?? So you comped your own mistake? What exactly did you do for me? That's ridiculous." She said, "Well I'm just doing what the manager told me to do. "I said, "I'd like to speak to the manager." She said that she would go get him however she went to the next table, opened a bottle of wine, poured it into a carafe then poured it into the glasses. She then proceeded to stay and chat w/ the men for a bit. My kids and I sat and waited until she went back to the kitchen where we waited some more while she found the mgr. Another waiter then approached our table and said, "We made a mistake, this is your new bill." I looked at him and asked, "Are you the manager?" He said, "I'm the manager right now." I said, "Where is the manager?" He said, "He's too busy right now." I couldn't believe it. The manager is responsible for everything that goes on in this restaurant. When you serve people bad food, no matter what you are doing in the back of the house, you show your face and apologize to the customer. I said, "You served me sour food, then charged me for the mistake and now you tell me the manager is too busy to speak with me?" I got up from the table and said, "Go get the manager NOW." I walked back to the kitchen area because I didn't want to make a scene at the table and by this point I knew my temper would be coming out. Finally the manager came out and I told him he's disrespectful with poor customer service. He said to me, "I was dealing with something in the back that was more important." More important?? I said, "Let me tell you something from someone who has worked with customers for years as a Nordstrom Store manager and buyer. No matter what you are dealing with in the back is not as important as a paying customer up front. Without the paying customers, you won't have a back to deal with. Understand? It's your responsibility to speak with customers when something goes wrong under your watch." After his excuses he offered to make it right. He offered to comp our lunch and for me to bring my entire family back for dinner. I told him that was nice but that I'd think about the offer of dinner. I knew I'd never be back. He walked me to the front of the restaurant where my kids were standing. I have an 18 and 15 yr old son and my 18yr old said, "You're waiter is an a-hole." I looked at him surprised because he hates confrontation and would usually wait for me in the car. The manager and I were standing there and I said, What happened?" He said, "When you went to talk to the manager the waiter came over to me and said, "Is your mother always this crazy?" I looked at the manager and said, "You've got to be kidding me. Who goes over to someone's children and bashes their mother? The customer service is absolutely awful!" I turned to the manager and said, "Go get that waiter. He will apologize to my children and to me. This is unbelievable. It just keeps getting worse." He went to get him and as the waiter walked across the restaurant, before he even got to me he was saying, "I apologize for what I said." He was practically shouting it as he walked off the dining floor and it was just rude, inconsiderate and very unapologetic. He's one of those guys that can be charming when things are going his way but the second someone calls him out on his crap he turns into a jerk. I actually told him to "Shut up". I don't think i've ever told a stranger to shut up but I couldn't believe this guy. He said, "Please don't talk to me that way" in his patronizing voice. I said, "You say negative things about one's mother to her children and you don't want ME to talk to YOU that way? You're rude." He said, "Thank you, have a nice day, hopefully you find somewhere else to eat" as I walked out the door. Never again. Sour food, terrible service. read more

Delicious, high quality food! The pizza's are fantastic! I love that they have healthier options for their pizza crusts, like the chia seed dough! The service is always the best! The dulce de Leche cheesecake is outstanding! The calamari is so fresh and the pastas are cooked to perfection! The Farro salad is really tasty as well! Overall I would highly recommend this place for a date night, birthday celebration, dinner with friends or if you just want really tasty meals and great service!
