six slices of pizza in a box
    Helen L.

We got some pizza for take out: sausage and onion, and potato and salami. I loved both, especially the potato. The dough was really tasty and light. The sauce was also really good. It was interesting because the price of the pizza was determined by the weight. I would definitely come here again and try the other pizzas!

Pizza slices are cut to order (you choose how big/small) and cost is based on weight. We tried: Potato Onion & Mushroom 3 Cheese Pizza is light and airy yet perfectly crispy and chewy, toppings are simple. Roman style pizza al taglio! All key ingredients in producing their dough is flown in from italy and their dough goes through a four day process... talk about dedication! What brought my here was my research through yelp in finding all the little hidden gems around the city... the name caught my attention but all the little details and their story brought me their and the pizza won my heart ... this was truly like travelling back to Rome Inside they also have a replica wall of the colosseum!

I was recommended to check out Ciao Roma from a notable foodie, and they were 100% correct. The pizza is wonderful and I cannot wait to come back - even though I live 30 minutes away, I think it is worth the drive! When you get to the counter, you can ask them what are the pizzas and then you can tell them which pizzas you'd like to have and how big a slice. They will weight the slices and it all goes towards a final bill. Prices are a bit higher than you franchise pizza place, but the quality of ingredients is definitely there. I highly recommend checking this place out. Ciao Roma is now my favorite pizza place in Toronto!

This place is so awesome! Hidden away in an industrial plaza in Vaughan, this pizza place is serving what they claim to be authentic Roman style pizza. I've never been to Rome or Italy so I don't know what's authentic or not but I really enjoyed the pizza here. We got a couple of the ready-made slices, I understand that you can order a freshly made pizza as well. We picked a couple slices to try and it was cut to our size preference. For about 3 large slices cut into two slices each (about a medium sized pizza's worth) it cost us about $15 with a water bottle, which is a good price considering two people had more than enough to eat, although the dessert pizzas did sound tempting. Like most people have mentioned, the star is the crust. The focaccia bread which is the base of this pizza tastes like fresh baked Italian bread. It's crispy at the bottom and doughy and bready in the middle and the toppings are fresh, albeit light, but it's not a heavy, greasy pizza place. They seem to want to showcase that dough and it's texture and flavour and it really shines through. The toppings are more like a compliment to the dough as opposed to the dough simply being a vessel for toppings. The toppings are really great though, I was impressed that they have things like smoked Gouda, sweet and spicy salami, fresh mozzarella and bocconcini, which seem to be more authentic than your standard pepperoni and shredded mozzarella. A normal person can probably get full off of a bigger slice because the crust is thicker and more substantial than a traditional pizza so you really can't eat as much as you would at a standard pizza place, which is my argument against people saying It's on the pricier side. It is definitely more expensive than Pizza Hut but if you want to try a unique pizza place, this is it. It's homemade tasting, the pizzas are beautiful and appear to be made with love and pride, it's worth the money for the quality and flavour. The restaurant isn't anything special, it looks like a standard pizza takeout place, there are a couple of seats for a quick bite but it's not a family restaurant, there's no table service. Parking out front is free and ample. This isn't a place you'll stumble upon though, you'll have to go looking for it, but there's large signage so you won't miss it once you're driving by. Service was good, the girl at the counter was friendly and prompt and we didn't feel intimidated by the unique process of ordering. No table service, so ordering and paying is the only interaction we had with any staff. Overall I will definitely come back for pizza to try some other flavours, maybe try that Nutella pizza!

A hidden gem amongst the many pizzerias located Vaughan, ON, Ciao Roma's pizza literally makes me feel like I'm in Italy. Their approach is interesting. They have about 5 to 7 types of pizza out at a time half cooked. Once you pick the one you like they bake the rest so it's fresh and hot for you. My favourite of them all is this potato and prosciutto cotto white pizza. Another one I like is arrabiatta (spicy) with hot Italian soppressatta and tomato sauce. The flavour is exceptional, the dough is fresh and more importantly, it's thin and almost crispy. I also order their house salad, which is always fresh and completely customizable. I find it to be slightly pricy for a more casual type family restaurant, but it's totally worth it. I've been a handful of times and it never disappoints.

Ciao Roma is just so perfect for me! Someone that wants to try everything and could not make up his/her mind. All those delicious looking pizza are ready to be sold by weight. I just want to try everything. There is a menu right on the wall that describe every kind of pizza they serves which are all baked freshly in the kitchen on the side. But guessing which is which can be tricky. The pizza I ordered are reheated in the oven and they all come out crispy and hot. And the bread like crust is the best part of the pizza!! Of course the premium toppings makes every slices/squares so unique! Nutella pizza.. I want some of those next time!! Sugar and Carbs always a good ending of every meal!

One of the few (probably only) authentic Roman style pizza joints. The variety is great, the ingredients are fantastic, and the crust is airy and crispy like a thin delicate focaccia. My only criticism is that the pizza with tomatoe sauces need more sauce. The sauce is almost non-existent which i understand is probably due to the double bake method of roman style pizza, but still.. I'd like a bit more sauce. Okay fine... I want a lot more sauce.. But it's still pretty good

They were right, this certainly is one of (if not the) best Roma style pizzas in the city AND doesn't destroy your wallet! It's a nice, tiny little shop, and as soon as you walk in, your eyes feast on the "belissimo" slices of pizza alreay cooked. They are SO creative with the combination of ingredients, potato and proscuitto, smoked provalone with mixed wild mushrooms.....it really can't get more authentic. With so much to choose from, and with a few sitting areas in the shop, this would be a perfect lunch spot for people in the area. I came with a group of 4, and we decided to order a full party size pizza - only a 20 minute wait, can't complain about that! We chose the Amitricano, which had parmesean cheese, tomato sauce, hot salami, pancetta and proscuitto... Definitley was the works haha! The gentleman who took our order (and whom I believe is the owner as he's featured in lovely news articles about the shop posted around the store) was extremely friendly and seemed to truly care about whether or not we enjoyed our meal; true sign of excellent customer service! Our pizza was served to us on personal trays, accounting for a total of 24 slices. As much as I wanted to finish all 6 of my beautifully savoury, fresh pizza slices, i had to bring some home for later, too stuffed haha! Another side note I noticed is that the workers speak Italian which i think is VERY admirable! Really is the cherry on top for the authenticity of Ciao Roma! Very impressed with this place, love the intimacy of the shop, and the quality and variety of pizza offered. Definitley will return next time im in the area :)

When in Woodbridge and hunkering for a little bite of Italian love, head to Caio Roma! This small establishment located in a strip mall delivers (figuratively) the taste of Roman style pizza by the slice. A variety of slices, including full pies are available to be ordered. The slices are sold by weight and you pick the size you want, a few minutes in the oven and BAM, Rome is on your tastebuds. Yes the prices are higher than your cookie cutter pizza box stores, but as they say "you get what you pay for!" Flavours are great, and quality provides that little crunch with every bite. A limited number of seats are available which means you get the chance to rub elbows with the 905'ers who have nothing but great advice on where to get the best eats in Woodbridge. Enjoy and mangera pasaeno, mangera!!

This place exceeded my expectations. Looking at the photos, it seemed like giant slabs of pizza cut with scissors and weighed etc etc... But man oh man, the pizza was flavourful, light, and delicious. The ingredients were simple, and I could really taste the tomato sauce they used. I did not feel all carb-overloaded or heavy after eating 2 slices of their Za'! I will return and try a wider assortment of slices next time :) P.S THEY HAVE BEER! Nothing better than an ice cold Perroni to go with your pizza

Had the potato, sausage, rosemary and mozzarella pizza. It was absolutely delicious! I love the decor inside with the cool looking wall. We ordered a half pizza and it only took like 20 mins for a fresh one to be made. While we waited we had a fried rice ball which was really tasty as well. It gets really busy at lunch so you can tell its a hot spot! I'd come back again for sure.

It's pretty good, the concept is different. Different from Conventional pizzas. The crust is light and flaky but not oily. Tried the potato and salami, the spicy and the mushroom red pepper pizzas.

Visited on a Saturday during the afternoon, wasn't too busy. The place has a bar counter with a few bar stools, small table and a larger table. There's a large window looking into the kitchen. A counter with large trays of various pizzas. They also have arancini and salad. We opted for a couple slices of pizza and a few arancinis. The slices were priced by weight. Menu says anything less than 1/2 a pizza would be charged by weight. The pizzas are party-size. Food was good. I had the Trentina - mushrooms, speck and truffle oil. and May try to come back to try the various pizzas.

Service: 3.5/5 They get busy (like "book days in advance" busy), so service can be a little inconsistent. Sometimes it took a while for our server to swing by, but food came out in a reasonable timeframe once we ordered. Definitely recommend reserving ahead. Food: 3.5/5 Big Italian menu with lots of pasta and pizza options, plus mains like chicken parm, lamb chops, and branzino. The wine and cocktail lists are extensive, which fits the whole "giant wine wall" aesthetic. The Caesar salad was honestly the standout, really well done. The starter bread was a miss for us: a bit stale and not warmed, like it had been sitting out for a while. Dessert, though, redeemed things. The dessert menu has a lot of variety, and the toffee dessert our server recommended was great, especially with the vanilla ice cream. Overall, solid spot with real highlights, but I'd love to see more consistency across the rest of the menu.

I had never been here before, so there was a brief hesitation since I thought this could either make me look like a foodie genius or a complete fraud. But then I saw photos of the beautiful olive tree in the dining room and thought, well... any restaurant confident enough to put a tree in the middle probably knows what it's doing. I was sold. The verdict? I'm glad I brought them--though there was one small caveat. The one con: We started with the Vegetarian Board. The vegetables were fresh and well-cooked, but I have to call out a small disappointment: the menu clearly says "chef's selection of vegetables and olives." Reader, unfortunately...there were no olives. Not a single olive in sight. In a restaurant with an olive tree, no less. The irony was almost poetic. Minor false advertising aside, the broccolini was also a bit more bitter than I personally enjoy. Now the pros (and there were many): The rest of the meal was exceptional--fresh, satisfying, and very authentically Italian. To start, we had fresh bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The olive oil alone almost stole the show. It was incredibly fragrant, with that bright, crisp olive flavour that lingers on your palate like it was pressed five minutes ago. I may or may not have eaten more bread than dignity allows. For my main, I had the pasta special of the day: oxtail casarecce, and it was fantastic. The sauce was creamy and packed with umami. The oxtail was tender and chewy at the same time, somehow both hearty and melt-in-your-mouth. And the pasta itself was clearly fresh--springy, perfectly textured. Fresh pasta really does make all the difference. My coworker ordered the paccheri con zucchine e gamberetti, which I sampled strictly for research purposes. It was lighter and refreshing, with delicate zucchini that made the whole dish feel balanced and satisfying. My other colleague went with the daily secondi special: pesce alla griglia (sea bream). I also tried a bite of that, and it was excellent--crispy skin on the outside, tender and flaky inside, juicy and full of flavour. The only small drawback was that the sides were the exact same vegetables as the ones from our Vegetarian Board, so by round two my colleague was a little overwhelmed by the déjà-vu of vegetables. Then came dessert--easily everyone's favourite part of the night. Two of us ordered the tiramisu, and honestly, it might be one of the best I've had. When they serve it, they pour a freshly brewed shot of espresso over the top, which soaks into the layers and perfectly complements the mascarpone and cream underneath. It was ridiculously good. Our other coworker ordered the pistachio strawberry cake and absolutely demolished it in about two seconds flat, which I think is the highest possible dessert endorsement. Price-wise: this isn't a cheap casual spot, but it's very reasonable for a high-quality dinner. My pasta, dessert, and service came out to almost $70, which felt fair for the experience. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm, and overall we had a genuinely lovely dinner. Most importantly, bringing my coworkers here made me look like I actually know what I'm doing when recommending restaurants--which is always a win. Olives or not, I'd happily come back. And next time, I'm thinking date night.
