I made an appointment for 5PM today thinking that scheduled oil changes might get priority, when I showed up I was informed it would be at least a 2 hour wait until they would be able to see me, I'm taking my car to the dealership for service tomorrow morning and probably going to save money anyways. I would NOT advise friends to go here, absolutely horrible customer service read more

Pieces of human garbage - they stole a floor jack out of my car and totally tossed the entire interior...tore apart the glove box and console looking to steal more. Stay away! read more

Not sure what happened to the gentleman who was there at my last, which was my first, service. But this time, the gentleman was on his phone until one of the older mechanic comes in and I'm starting to lose my patience. Then calls me an hour after to ask how to start the car. read more

I have been visiting this store since last year, and always have had great service and customer care. The manager Jose is a very nice guy,he listens to the customers and looks at the vehicle him self whenever you talk to him. Would definitely recommend visiting this store for any fixes. They do have some online coupons for oil changes, new tires etc. read more

After reading previous reviews I am astonished! I went in for an oil change on a Saturday, got right in, took no time at all and everyone was SUPER nice! Not to mention it was the cheapest oil change I've ever gotten and the filled up my tires for me!!! If they keep this up I won't be going anywhere else :) read more

I have used this location prior to the Pep Boys buyout of the My Mechanic. Macon, Jose and the staff have always been professional and provided great service to my vehicles. I trust them to provide me an accurate quote on repairs and have the repairs done to my satisfaction. Keep up the great work!! You have me as a loyal customer!! I refer friends to this location based on my positive experiences. read more

I have worked with Jose and Macon, for years. I would not go anywhere else or let anyone else work on my car.....I TRUST these guys! They have ALWAYS given me the BEST price, done a THOROUGH job, are exceptionally KNOWLEDGEABLE and have GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. I feel that these qualities are very much lacking in so many businesses today. I feel so fortunate to have found them. I travel from Wilcrest and I 10 just to let them work on my car.......They are are TERRIFIC TEAM.... read more

I have five cars (GMC Yukon, BMW 3-series, 3 Honda Accords) for five people in my family and these guys are my go-to repair place. They're honest and fast and they take care of you. What else do you want from a repair place. read more

This place was recommended to me by a co-worker who lives nearby. I went there for brake fluid flush. Even though they lost my "appointment" that I made by the phone, they took me in without issues, and in about 50 minutes the car was ready. While waiting, I spent this time in a nearby Starbucks sipping coffee. The price was about $40 less than the nearby dealerships, and the guy at the reception seemed very knowledgeable and answered my questions very well. They seem to be low overhead, but good service type of joint. The prices are actually slightly lower that what this online site "yourmechanic" offers. I will definitely go back there. read more

I don't know if there is a better word out there for this place but crooked comes to mind. Though my initial experiences were good I will not be coming back here again. My first bad experience occurred when I went in to replace my front truck struts. I figured it would be a simple process and should only take a few hours but Macon ordered the wrong struts from the get go. He then told me that they would cost 75 dollars more a piece and that he had to have them special ordered. He was sorry for the delay and told me that he would he would do this job at cost. So the entire cost to swap out two front shocks ended up costing me over $500. Pep Boys had sent me a coupon to get half off the labor for the struts but they would not honor it since I was given this supposed labor discount. I went home and looked up the exact strut that was installed and I actually was able to find find it at all the auto parts stores in Katy for less than a 100 dollars a piece. Recently I took my truck in because I was having a low oil pressure message display. I didn't want to come here but it was the only place I thought would be open over the weekend that I could drop off and not have to miss any work on a Monday. I was called on Monday and was told that my truck would require a brand new engine. Keep in mind that this truck only has a little over a 100K on it. I told them that I would pick it up and I would pay the 100 dollar fee for them checking out the issue. It was strange that when I turned my engine over that it now sounded like a diesel. When I brought it in, the truck had been running fine except for the warning light. The next day I figured I should get second opinion on the engine and compare the cost of a new/used one. I went to several shops in the Katy area and they both would be able to put a new engine in for considerably less. The shop I decided on said they would still like to check out the engine before we did an exchange. I told him that would be great and I would appreciate the second opinion. Several hours later I was in the vicinity of the shop and decided to stop by to check on their progress. Low and behold my truck was running fine without any knocking noise. The shop agreed to change my oil and keep it overnight to do some test driving. I picked it up the next day and drove it away. I would have been out 4K if I would have went the Pep Boys route. I can no longer trust this shop to touch my vehicles. I can guarantee you can go elsewhere in Katy to get a better job and a lower price. Remember the small shops do not have all of the overhead to screw you over. read more

Stopped by for an oil change. They said they were backed up, and it would be about two hours before they'd be done. They said they would call when it was finished. So, we ran errands while waiting. Almost three hours later, the car still wasn't finished and we were going to just pick it up and go somewhere else. They were bringing it into the garage just as we entered, so we decided to wait while they finished it up. It took over an hour from the time that they brought it in and put it on the lift until the time that they were finished. There is absolutely no reason that an oil and filter change should take that long!! I will never go back! read more

Went in for a brake job and was told I needed over $1000 worth of work. These guys are crooks - stay away!

Well, Peg Boys social media folks responded to my post and asked me to get in touch with them for follow up. I did. They said someone would be in touch with me in a couple of days. That was 3 weeks ago. I have not heard anything back from them yet. Perhaps that tells you something...... read more

Yesterday I had a tire pressure warning light come on after coming out of an office near this Pep Boys store. I wanted to check it out before getting on the highway. I stopped without an appointment. They got my car in quickly, filled up the tires and checked for a leak. No problem found. They really gave me peace of mind, and I can't thank them enough. You guys rock! read more

After looking at a few other stores for wiper blades, a friend suggested Pep Boys. I was not disappointed, not only were the prices unbeatable (especially for Rain-X brand) but the attention the manager offered was more than i expected. Mr Garcia assisted me in selecting the correct size wiper blades, even making a few trips out to the car to be absolutely sure on the size. Then to my surprise and delight - he installed all 3 blades...I helped a little but it wasn't nearly all the work I expected to do on this DIY project! All the staff were attentive, friendly and very customer oriented - this business knows what 'customer service' is and does an excellent job! We all know that 'customer service' is about as foreign these days as chivalry (no offense guys) but I will definitely travel the 15mi to come to Pep Boys to this specific location. Highly recommend for any car work/tires etc...the selection for 'automotive parts' is small if you're a DIY-er but the prices on what stock they have and the service for car care is unbeatable!! Congratulations to you Mr Garcia, job well done - you have a new customer for life and I will be sending whomever needs automotive care to you! read more

I took an appointment and went to do my oil change , in spite of having an appointment they have disgracefully delayed and wasted my time. one hour 20 minutes for oil change is not professionalism. read more

Jose & the rest of the staff here are the best! I've been a loyal customer for the past 5 years and never have I been disappointed or felt cheated with the service I've received. have taken cars to the guys at this shop for a great long time. Always excellent work, no unnecessary add ons, just excellent auto repair. Recently, our daughter took her car to the shop for a check engine light issue. Not only did they fit her in to their very busy day - but they stayed after closing to finish the work on her car! She was happy and I was, once again, impressed. Well done! read more

Let me clear up some negative issues for everyone. I brought my truck in at 10am Saturday morning. People everywhere in this place. Jose Garcia(Store Manager)is a Rockstar. He changed out my headlamp bulbs, and a missing air filter (another place left it out, not Pep Boys). He continued to help other folks, direct his team, field phone calls, and check people out with great precision. Jose Garcia is a superstar!!!! He was courteous and professional the entire time, to everyone. Crooks- furthest thing from the truth in my experience. More expensive than other places? I will pay it in a heartbeat. Several of these reviews are about oil change service time. Who gets their oil changed on Saturday morning? EVERYONE. Go during the week. Set yourself up for a great experience. Thank you again Jose and team. The professionalism and customer service is much appreciated. It was my first time here, and you won a customer! read more

first time to bring my car on this shop. price was reasonable, total cost is half less compared to the dealer's service shop. the store manager, Juan, even sourced out cheaper OEM parts that have the same brand. even though it was saturday and it was obvious that the shop is full, they still finished my car on time. read more
