Requested an oil change. Upon completion the manager explained to me that the oil drain plug was stripped and needed to be replaced. When I asked if they replaced it he said no, they just put the same stripped plug back in. When I asked him why he said "It's not our problem" and then tried to upsell me on drive chain fixes I didnt ask for. Ended up costing me a lot of money and time to get the stripped plug out after that, when they could have just replaced it then and there. Would NOT recommend you take your car here, they clearly only care about money and disregard their customers and their vehicles. read more

I have a few road trips coming up and wanted the brakes inspected and I knew I needed the brake fluid flushed- turned out front pads were worn but still had some material left but not more than 3 - 4 mm or so the rears were fine as well as tires but wanted to take no chance. Torrie service manager was great and I felt it was well worth doing- I didn't realize they charge a $35 diagnostic fee but whatever. I most likely will come back. read more

I have been going to Pep Boys for years. Had my oil change seven weeks ago when all the oil drained out slowly without me knowing the engine started making noise. I now need a new engine. Brought the car back . They did not stand behind their work and made up some excuse that it was something else. They serviced it twice for oil changes with no loss of oil . Why this time ?? The only difference from the last oil change was changing the drain plug . I will be filing a law suit . read more

I completely see why people leave negative reviews on this place. The online store hours are 7 AM to 7 PM. I walked in at 7:45 AM, And the guy at the front counter looked at me like I had three eyeballs. I asked is this place open or closed, and the guy behind the counter said we don't open till eight. I said well online it says 7 AM to 7 PM, and the guy turned around walked away. I came in the night before at 6:45 PM and the place is closed. I thought OK well maybe they closed up early because it was slow. They must have changed the store hours from 8 AM to 6 PM. The guy behind the counter should've asked me what I needed and helped me out anyway. His attitude just didn't reflect the willingness to try to help. My wife pulled into this location shortly before their posted closing hours on a weekend. She was hoping Pep Boys could fix a punctured tire. The employees did so in short order. They were quick and polite. They completed the job professionally and in record time. I showed up halfway through the job cause that's what husbands are supposed to do for car problems. Once finished, the manager didn't even charge us! I don't think they provided this courtesy because my wife is so beautiful, but maybe. i found my new favorite automotive store. Twice had a car towed here and both times they tried to rip us off by selling repairs that were not necessary. Tried to charge us over 800 to replace a water pump (several shops quoted half that and was replaced for 417 with a new serpentine belt) here is a prime example of there malfeasance, were charging over 200 for a coolant flush and fill... when the water pump failed all of the coolant drained out of the system. I was so impressed by the work done for me at this Pep Boys, I had to write a review. It was the weekend of this past Labor Day (9/2023) and the store was obviously swamped with customers needing work done. Manager Torrie was completely frank with me about the possible lateness of delivery of tires I needed installed. The tires came surprisingly a day earlier than expected and he fitted in my installation a day before my originally scheduled appointment. We had come on a road trip from Northern FL when our car had a complete flat. I was worried about damage to the rims so wanted to pump a little air with my portable compressor before driving it on to the rack. Technicians, not even assigned to my case, came over at the end of a very long and hot day to see if they could help me seeing that I might not be the most knowledgeable about cars. I say this honestly as a woman who has had varied experiences, the gentleman there were helpful, respectful and kind. Manager Torrie texted and emailed when they were done. We came back for the shop a few minutes AFTER closing hours. He was waiting for me. The bill was actually ~$10 LESS than what they had estimated. All in all a great experience. read more

Love this place. I have been several times for batteries and tires. My last visit made me a customer for life. I had something dead in the engine bay and could not find where the smell was coming from. In short order they found a dead possum that was hidden from view. Yesterday my check engine light came on and taking it to the dealership would be probably a minimum of $150. They ran the computer scan and it came up it was the gas cap. I wish I could give negative stars. They will take full advantage of you. Our car broke down on the way to Florida from Ohio. They originally said $2800, but gave us a "discount" that came to $2400. How generous. For a water pump, serpentine belt, thermostat, and spark plugs. They charged over 3x the amount of parts in labor. Said it was a 10 hour job, but charged us for 11.6 hours, but it was done in 7 hours. Charged an hourly rate ($130) to remove parts that would've had to have been removed to get to the issues anyway. Didn't include the hours on the invoice because they know it's not right. Spark plugs were replaced 3 days before we left and nothing shows why they would've been effected during the breakdown. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I made an appointment for an oil change at 5:30. I was told about an hour when I called to ask how long. I didn't receive a call so I decided to drive up there at 6:45,knowing they close at 7, and was informed by the only person there (whom was a service advisor) that my car wouldn't be ready till the next day ... umm excuse me ?!? I am a working mom ? I Couldn't get ahold of ANOYONE after even though their hours of operation CLEARLY states 7-7 and to top it all off when asking for the keys the guy there (whom has no idea what was going on) just handed over the keys !! So if anyone wants a car for free no questions asked just drive on over to pep boys on Indiantown rd pick a car and ask the service advisor for the keys !! It's no wonder the place is going under. I Called and asked for a quote on having a trailer hitch put on. After they gave me a quote I asked that he double checked they had all the parts, and explained I was driving more than an hour to get there. He told me as long as my vehicle matched what I said they had everything in stock. When I finally got there they pulled up my quote they gave over the phone, and they hadn't added a trailer hitch to the part list for the quote!!! Not only did they not have the most important part in stock(the actual hitch), but the quote was of course half of what it should have been! 2 hours of driving for the shop attendee to say you'll have to shop around for the part just like we would. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I got my tires here about a year ago, and due to there poor alignment they wore unevenly. So now 11 months later I went back to get new tires because they were under warranty for 40,000 miles and I only used 15,000, and they offered us 50% off new tires acknowledging they made a mistake. Today I got the 2 new tires in the rear (because they were un-drivable) and an alignment which took around 4 hours and ended up being 250$. I drive off the lot and immediately my check engine light is on and my car is shaking (which was not happening before) they tell me it will be 60$ just to look at it. I repeat DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I will never go back to Pep Boys for any service and will tell any one I know to avoid them at ALL costs. Lost business with 5 customers today. I walked into this Pep Boys to buy new windshield wipers for my car. I am a young female. As soon as I walk in, a male employee with his mask under his chin greets me with "Hey sweetheart, are you just looking for the bathroom?" And I told him no, I am here to get wiper blades. His response was "Oh, you don't know what you're looking for do you?" I asked him what made him think that, and he quickly backtracked and started defending himself, saying that nobody really knows what they're looking for when they walk in, but that "if you're in the 1% who knows what they need, then God bless you." I got my wiper blades from the aisle, and as I walked by this employee to check out, he told me "Good job." I cannot believe how unprofessional, rude, and sexist he was; not to mention the incorrect mask-wearing. I absolutely regret spending any money here over the last decade I've lived in Jupiter, and I will never be back. read more

I went to return a used battery after purchasing one the week before. The apparent manager named Hiram was not only unwilling to help me because I did not have a receipt, which I accept I should have maintained, despite never being told to keep it. Hiram was outrageously disrespectful to me personally, and would talk over me with a smirk on his face while I vainly attempted to reason with the man. He was so unprofessional and insulting, that I left leaving my battery there, without any refund. Incidentally, the woman ahead of me, stated "i am done with pep boys!' and marched out. My 16 year old nephew went there for his first oil change on his first car with a coupon from pep boys for oil change for 20 dollars. When he got there the guy behind the counter said that the coupon was good and it would take about an hour to do. When my nephew came back an hour later they said it wasn't done yet. Finally after 3 hours it was done. When he went to pay for it they pulled the old bait and switch and said that he needed synthetic oil and was going to charge him 80 dollars. My nephew said that there was a different guy at the counter now and that the new guy said the other guy shouldn't have accepted the coupon my nephew had. The new guy said he could take 20 dollars of the 80 and charge him 60. Those people should be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of a 16 year old kid on his first oil change. Wasted my time today. Went in to have license plate light replaced (1 of 2 bulbs are out) and they called me 2.5 hours later to tell me that my car doesn't have a light above the plate and that the car doesn't even have the wiring to put one in. They said I would have to take it to a place that installs LED lights on cars. I argued over the phone that it's definitely there but they were adamant it didn't exist. I figured they're the professionals and I shouldn't argue with them so when I went to get the car I didn't say anything and came straight home. Looking at the car from the outside you can see the wiring and see that there is a bulb working and a bulb not working. It's clear that they didn't even look because it's physically visible from outside of the car without removing anything at all. I feel disrespected and insulted. read more

Bad service. Called me and told me what was wrong with car and I authorized repair. They called back 5 hours later to tell me what was wrong with the car asking for authorization to initiate repair. I told them we had already spoken in the AM. They said, must have been a car mix up. Your repair will now cost 3x more than call earlier. And your car won't be ready until much later in the day. Well I am sitting here one hour before they close for the night and still no car. Poorly run operation here. Need new management. I should say that Christian was helpful though. read more
