IF YOU DRIVE A GERMAN CAR, STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. They messed up my oil change on my 14' Passat TSI and when my car broke down immediately after, they wouldn't take responsibility for it. I had it towed back there, they tried to fix it, but the damage was already done. They had their 'specialist' look at it the next day, and he called me coming up with excuses such as "oh you had multiple leaks" (as if those multiple leaks weren't caused by an increase in oil pressure when the filter was put on wrong), "oh your PCV valve was clogged. Mind you I live in Plantation, which is about 80 miles away. No way catastrophic damage like that occurs from a 15 dollar part. And if so, it should have happened when I was driving at high speeds the night before, not AFTER my car was serviced. I've had diagnostics run multiple times through a local shop AND my local VW dealership's service team. No such issue was ever even brought up. Their senior tech, Nick was talking down to me like I was an idiot, so I called customer service, they link me to ths guy named Mike, who concurred with Nick, but offered to have a third party adjuster inspect the vehicle, but could not give me a definitive time for said adjuster to arrive... Since they gave me the runaround with no clear timeline, of action, I towed my car to my usual AAMCO location who also determined that Pep Boys was at fault. Therefore, "Res Ispa Loquitor" applies, and I will be suing these people. This is a travesty, and the fact these people keep insulting my intelligence shows what kind of people operate within this company. My car worked just fine before taking it in, and now no longer works, currently needing a brand new engine. These people took my money, my time, my car, and my livelihood. I will NOT stop until this is rectified. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER!!!! read more

I got new tires. While I was there the front desk man took me into the garage with a flashlight to show me something under my hood. I told him I was getting tires and would ask my regular mechanic what he meant. When I got the bill it said I declined struts and declined wheel alignment. I called them back when I saw this notation. I was upset because I had my struts replaced less than a year ago. I was also upset because it said I declined alignment. NO ONE MENTIONED ALIGNMENT. He said that would have been more money. I told him NO ONE ASKED ME! I was upset and hung up. Very bad experience today. read more

I took my car yesterday for an AC check up. It was 999 with a coupon. I ended up paying $15.60 with taxes although I had great customer service the pricing for a re-refill was $300. I was shocked. I called my local I paid $130 for him to come to my house to vacuum and add Freon. I think they're pricing is very high. read more

There's nothing worse than having to get a patch on a tire or fix a valve step. I would rather keep putting air in it then have to deal with these people. You make an appointment to fix the valve stem. Four hours later you hear nothing you stop by vehicles in the same spot. It was when you dropped it off one vehicle in the bay. They lost two of my wheel locking nuts. Didn't even bother to replace them with anything so I drove around for a few days without my wheels being properly secured. The removed a nail from one of my tires and didn't bother putting any air in the tire so it was unsafe. Over charged for service fees and various other add ons. Staff at front desk extremely rude. I will never go back there again. They should be closed for putting customers lives in danger. Disgusting. read more

Requested an oil change. Upon completion the manager explained to me that the oil drain plug was stripped and needed to be replaced. When I asked if they replaced it he said no, they just put the same stripped plug back in. When I asked him why he said "It's not our problem" and then tried to upsell me on drive chain fixes I didnt ask for. Ended up costing me a lot of money and time to get the stripped plug out after that, when they could have just replaced it then and there. Would NOT recommend you take your car here, they clearly only care about money and disregard their customers and their vehicles. read more

I have a few road trips coming up and wanted the brakes inspected and I knew I needed the brake fluid flushed- turned out front pads were worn but still had some material left but not more than 3 - 4 mm or so the rears were fine as well as tires but wanted to take no chance. Torrie service manager was great and I felt it was well worth doing- I didn't realize they charge a $35 diagnostic fee but whatever. I most likely will come back. read more

Pep boys originally installed my tires. I went to have them rotated for the first time and was told if they try and remove a lug nut it will break and would be charged $300 to fix. This should be taken care of for no charge . read more

I completely see why people leave negative reviews on this place. The online store hours are 7 AM to 7 PM. I walked in at 7:45 AM, And the guy at the front counter looked at me like I had three eyeballs. I asked is this place open or closed, and the guy behind the counter said we don't open till eight. I said well online it says 7 AM to 7 PM, and the guy turned around walked away. I came in the night before at 6:45 PM and the place is closed. I thought OK well maybe they closed up early because it was slow. They must have changed the store hours from 8 AM to 6 PM. The guy behind the counter should've asked me what I needed and helped me out anyway. His attitude just didn't reflect the willingness to try to help. I have been going to Pep Boys for years. Had my oil change seven weeks ago when all the oil drained out slowly without me knowing the engine started making noise. I now need a new engine. Brought the car back . They did not stand behind their work and made up some excuse that it was something else. They serviced it twice for oil changes with no loss of oil . Why this time ?? The only difference from the last oil change was changing the drain plug . I will be filing a law suit . read more

My wife pulled into this location shortly before their posted closing hours on a weekend. She was hoping Pep Boys could fix a punctured tire. The employees did so in short order. They were quick and polite. They completed the job professionally and in record time. I showed up halfway through the job cause that's what husbands are supposed to do for car problems. Once finished, the manager didn't even charge us! I don't think they provided this courtesy because my wife is so beautiful, but maybe. i found my new favorite automotive store. Twice had a car towed here and both times they tried to rip us off by selling repairs that were not necessary. Tried to charge us over 800 to replace a water pump (several shops quoted half that and was replaced for 417 with a new serpentine belt) here is a prime example of there malfeasance, were charging over 200 for a coolant flush and fill... when the water pump failed all of the coolant drained out of the system. I had a flat tire on a Sunday. Ugh. I went to tire kingdom. They were packed. Went to Goodyear they couldn't patch a run flat. Then I met Dave at Peo Boys! Nice young man. Love this place. I have been several times for batteries and tires. My last visit made me a customer for life. I had something dead in the engine bay and could not find where the smell was coming from. In short order they found a dead possum that was hidden from view. The carcass was removed and they refused to charge me. Great team and the service manger saved me. read more

I was so impressed by the work done for me at this Pep Boys, I had to write a review. It was the weekend of this past Labor Day (9/2023) and the store was obviously swamped with customers needing work done. Manager Torrie was completely frank with me about the possible lateness of delivery of tires I needed installed. The tires came surprisingly a day earlier than expected and he fitted in my installation a day before my originally scheduled appointment. We had come on a road trip from Northern FL when our car had a complete flat. I was worried about damage to the rims so wanted to pump a little air with my portable compressor before driving it on to the rack. Technicians, not even assigned to my case, came over at the end of a very long and hot day to see if they could help me seeing that I might not be the most knowledgeable about cars. I say this honestly as a woman who has had varied experiences, the gentleman there were helpful, respectful and kind. Manager Torrie texted and emailed when they were done. We came back for the shop a few minutes AFTER closing hours. He was waiting for me. The bill was actually ~$10 LESS than what they had estimated. All in all a great experience. read more

Yesterday my check engine light came on and taking it to the dealership would be probably a minimum of $150. They ran the computer scan and it came up it was the gas cap. I wish I could give negative stars. They will take full advantage of you. Our car broke down on the way to Florida from Ohio. They originally said $2800, but gave us a "discount" that came to $2400. How generous. For a water pump, serpentine belt, thermostat, and spark plugs. They charged over 3x the amount of parts in labor. Said it was a 10 hour job, but charged us for 11.6 hours, but it was done in 7 hours. Charged an hourly rate ($130) to remove parts that would've had to have been removed to get to the issues anyway. Didn't include the hours on the invoice because they know it's not right. Spark plugs were replaced 3 days before we left and nothing shows why they would've been effected during the breakdown. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I made an appointment for an oil change at 5:30. I was told about an hour when I called to ask how long. I didn't receive a call so I decided to drive up there at 6:45,knowing they close at 7, and was informed by the only person there (whom was a service advisor) that my car wouldn't be ready till the next day ... umm excuse me ?!? I am a working mom ? I Couldn't get ahold of ANOYONE after even though their hours of operation CLEARLY states 7-7 and to top it all off when asking for the keys the guy there (whom has no idea what was going on) just handed over the keys !! So if anyone wants a car for free no questions asked just drive on over to pep boys on Indiantown rd pick a car and ask the service advisor for the keys !! It's no wonder the place is going under. I Called and asked for a quote on having a trailer hitch put on. After they gave me a quote I asked that he double checked they had all the parts, and explained I was driving more than an hour to get there. He told me as long as my vehicle matched what I said they had everything in stock. When I finally got there they pulled up my quote they gave over the phone, and they hadn't added a trailer hitch to the part list for the quote!!! Not only did they not have the most important part in stock(the actual hitch), but the quote was of course half of what it should have been! 2 hours of driving for the shop attendee to say you'll have to shop around for the part just like we would. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! I got my tires here about a year ago, and due to there poor alignment they wore unevenly. So now 11 months later I went back to get new tires because they were under warranty for 40,000 miles and I only used 15,000, and they offered us 50% off new tires acknowledging they made a mistake. Today I got the 2 new tires in the rear (because they were un-drivable) and an alignment which took around 4 hours and ended up being 250$. I drive off the lot and immediately my check engine light is on and my car is shaking (which was not happening before) they tell me it will be 60$ just to look at it. I repeat DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! I will never go back to Pep Boys for any service and will tell any one I know to avoid them at ALL costs. Lost business with 5 customers today.
