Brought my car there on a Sunday because I was told they were open, I was mistaken. The hours listed here on the google page are incorrect. Told them not to jump the car because it wasn't dead. Came back to be told they tried jumping it which explains why my electronics are screwed up and my gas gauge and clock don't work anymore. Car was forgotten about multiple times. The last day it was there clerk told me they would get the ac and alignment done that day. It did not happen and when I came to pick it up the clerk tried telling me they did the alignment, then didn't want to charge me for the service (probably bc they thought they could just sneak it when I brought it back) but it was just a blatant lie and I never came back. Don't bring vehicle here for anything more than oil, tires, or brakes. read more

Call me a Karen (or whatever the male version of that is...), but this is just not a good business. They are really bad at even the lowest levels of service... especially customer service. Even if/when they admit they are in the wrong, you are screwed. Tech forgot to tighten the lugnuts on the new tire, then had the car for a week to address the issue they caused. They supposedly fixed a different problem.... three times. (Third times a charm?) The manager dodges responsibilities and will never pick up the phone to call you. If I could give a negative score I would. This location has had my truck for the past month. My truck was towed from their Western Hills location, because they couldn't get it right. Since being at this location, I was told that my truck was fixed twice. The first time, my truck went back to doing the exact thing that they were supposed to be fixing five minutes after picking it up. Two weeks later, we were told that it was ready. We picked up the truck, while driving home, it began to sound like a diesel truck (IT's NOT). Came out the next morning and it wouldn't start. I called Pep Boys again, had it towed back to them, and they have had it for another two weeks. Between the Western Hills location and this location, Pep Boys has had my truck for the past 3 months. If this has not been bad enough, they don't call to give updates, and they haven't offered any form of compensation for my troubles, and I no longer trust their work. I had tires put on my truck and now my transmission is in limp mode, my traction control light is on, my check engine light is on, and my stability light is on. The technician said "The error code says it is a manifold fault and we didn't do that. You will have to take it to the dealership". At the time of my appointment there were four of us in the waiting area. Three of us had problems that we were dealing with, and the last one was still getting work done. read more

Although the part I originally ordered wouldn't sync to my tire, I came back and they tried multiple more. They ended up fixing my tire valve and told me to get a tps stem valve and they'd help me. Even though I ended up coming three times, the appointment I scheduled for my brakes and rotors went great. The manager did everything she could to help me get the best deal. The whole staff is easy going, professional and friendly. I got a great deal all said and done. And I will go back for future repairs. read more

I have been a regular at this location for 10 years. Usually just for tire changes and oil changes. I made an appointment for 11 AM yesterday and dropped my car off the night before so it would be there bright and early. They did not even begin looking at until 4 PM and by the time they got around to calling me it was too late to pick it up. It was a simple engine diagnostic, no repair work was done. The car only gets up to speeds around 30mph so I went early this morning to pick it up because traffic would be light. I went to pay the diagnostic fee and the employee could not figure out the cash register. I watched him type away for what seemed forever before he had to call his manager. i then wait while he calls his manager, who also could not figure out the Point of Sale system. I was getting anxious because I wanted to be on the road before all of the churches let out. I asked if I could call back with payment once they figured everything out. I was also prepared to pay cash but they could not give me a total without their POS system. I was told I could not have the key and I would have to continue to wait while they called their tech support. I explained my reason for being in a hurry and was told they had policy and that was that. I was over 30 minutes to pay for my diagnostic service and get out of there. Not once did anyone apologize for their system not working. I was told to just wait, be quiet, and accept it. Terrible attitudes to customers. We will never go to another Pep Boys. read more

I went online to find a place to check out my a/c. I found pep boys and it said they would do a free diagnostic. Great. Sign me up. I made an appointment for the next day. I go in and guess what? No appointment. How strange I signed up for the free diagnostic but there is no information in the computer. So they schedule me an appointment 2 weeks out because they have one guy who does it and he only works 9-5 on weekdays but you have to have it in before 2 to get checked. I go in and the free diagnostic is $75. Hmm that's not free. The lady at the counter says well the free diagnostic just tells us what we need to diagnose. Which is what I'm assuming I was in the computer for 2 weeks ago when I came in but they wouldn't be able to charge me for because I went through the website so they schedule me 2 weeks out for something completely different to charge me for. Now, here we are 2 weeks later and zero progress. Just avoid them they lie to get you in and then lie when you get there. They clearly do not care about wasting your time. read more

My sister and I are here from out of state. The tires were very low and we couldn't get the caps off. We found a pep boys and 2 gentlemen helped us.....one of the caps was stuck and they had to work on it a little bit to get it loose. These two men were great, very friendly, helpful and caring. I read some negative reviews about this location, but decided to give it a try any way. Boy, was that a mistake. I scheduled a noon appointment for a tire instillation, arrived early, and I waited. The instillation took 3 hours and 15 minutes. If this was the only issue, I would have decided not to return. However, the reason that I am writing this review is because of the unprofessional manner of the employees. They yelled for each other across a large store, cursed about the customer phone calls and computer as I was waiting in line, and loudly discussed their negative feeling about their work place. I scheduled an online appointment for tires from their parking lot since the in-store worker was not able to price match the free installation being offered online. While at the store on Friday, I asked when the first available appointment was and was told 1:00 on Saturday. Online showed availability for Friday, which was not accurate. I wonder if this disconnect between online appoint availability and actual appointment times lead to the long waits in other reviews. After booking the appointment, I went home and looked at the reviews for this pep boys location, to say the least, the reviews were not good, which made me question my decision. I got to the appointment the next day about an hour early. I wanted to give them every opportunity to get my tires installed on time. The quoted time was 1.5 hours after the car was on the rack, not 1.5 hours after the appointment time, which made me nervous, and was expecting to be there all day. However to my pleasant surprise, they took my car in about 12:15 and had the work completed by 1:05. The wheels had some paste on them, but there were no scratches and the tires felt nicely balanced allowing the car to ride smooth. Perhaps I got lucky on a slower day, but my experience was positive. Pricing was they best I found for name brand tires. Would recommend to verify appointment time and make sure tires are in stock. read more

I agree with last reviewer, one star for Pep Boys. First of all, I bought a buffing wheel cloth to buff my car from Pep Boys. I was going to Harbor Frieght, someone told me it was cheaper to buy it there. I was in a hurry and Pep Boys was on my way. So I bought the buffing wheel, it cost me over $20.00. I am thinking that sounded a little high for a cloth. So I decided to goto Habor Frieght instead, and guess what. The exact same cloth was going for only $6.00. I paid over 3 time more at Pep Boys...I felt Like I got ripped off, so I took it back. Well, I go back to Pep Boys. I was standing at the cash register for more then 10 minutes. No one was around. So I had to goto there automotive area where there was someone. When I got there. I told I need to return this item back. He said " we cannot take return here". He sent me back to the same register...arrgg frustrating. So I stood there again for 5 minutes . No one there at the cash register. I had to scream out loud to a person. Is anyone going to ring me up. Finally the manager came up. I asked her are you guys short handed, she replied yes. I said" why don't you hire more people". She said " she can't hire anyone". Maybe it is because I didn't need anything complicated from Pep Boys, but I didn't have nearly the same experience as the previous two (one-star) reviewers! I am clueless when it comes to cars and needed a new car battery. I walked to the parts counter and told the employee my make, model, and model year and he got me the battery I needed. He also brought it to my car for me. I had to come back the next day to return the battery because it was leaking. Without any questions asked or paperwork filled out, they quickly swapped my battery after recognizing me from the previous day. Again, the gentleman brought my battery to my car for me (also holding the door for me when I arrived with the first purchased battery). When I returned the next day to get my $12 rebate for bringing back my old battery, they held the door for me again as I entered the store, quickly credited me the money, and I was on my way. I can't say enough about the service and the staff! They were friendly and courteous, and didn't take advantage of the fact I know nothing about cars! read more

This place is an absolute NIGHTMARE to deal with. Took a car in here to have an issue with the a/c repaired. So far I am going on 2 weeks that they've had the car and at the time of writing this i still haven't gotten the car back. So, here's the saga thus far: - Dropped car off Wednesday nearly two weeks ago. They determined what the car needed, ordered the part and said the car should be good to go by Saturday. - Saturday rolls around and they say they haven't received the part. Finally we go in and check in on how things are going. - An employee showed us the "part" and said that the car was almost done. - when we didn't hear anything for awhile we called to check in. They said they didn't have the part. We go back and forth with them for awhile, during which time they claim everything from the shipper failed to deliver the part to they lost it. Finally on Wednesday, a full week after we dropped the car off, we called and they said they had the part and had the car apart and was being worked on. - Once again we had to call for an update. I think this was Friday. We were told that the mechanic had hurt himself and that the other mechanics didn't know how to put the car back together. Just let that sink in for a moment. Their "mechanics" didn't know how to put the car back together. - we were now being told that the car would be done by Saturday evening. So, Saturday evening rolls around and we contact Pepboys for an update. Big surprise, the car isn't finished. - At some point on Sunday we are finally told that the car is finished and we just had to wait on the insurance company to approve the work and we could pick the car up. It's now Monday evening and I'm still sitting here without the car. We were told that the information had been sent to the insurance company, who said they never received it. After calling Pepboys and speaking to the manager we found out that they hadn't even sent the information like they said they did. At this point I'm truly afraid what the quality of the work will be. Long story short DO NOT go through the hassle of dealing with this place. read more

Very POOR service . Dropped a tire for a repair, told 1 hour, came back 1.5 hours later... Hadn't even moved the tire. They clearly forgot and instead of being honest.... Made up some BS story. Then the guy at the counter took it back, put the plug in it and 5 Mins later done. Coulda done THAT when we dropped it off !!! And $20.00 for a plug . Obscene. Tire Discounters did this repair FOR FREE. On a tire I didn't even buy there. DIscount Tire only charges 5.99 for a simple plug job like this. Never going back ! read more

Ordered and paid for four tires for my daughter's car online Sunday. Once I got the order confirmation I was able to set the appointment for Tuesday at 2:00. I called the store Tuesday morning to ask if my daughter needed to bring any of the paperwork, emails, or my credit card since it was not me or my car. Sondra told me "Nope, just come on in". Great. Wrong! Complain one: the car was finally done just before 5:00, for a 2:00 appointment to install 4 new tires. My daughter was NOT told at drop off that it would be delayed. I called about 4:15 to ask why it was taking so long, and was told someone had called in sick today, yada, yada, whining about their day "not going like we planned". I nicely said my daughter had different plans for the day too. No real apology, no offer to lessen the "pain". Complaint two: when my daughter went to pick up the car, they asked for my Amex. She had to call me, type in the info, yada, yada (again). Guess Sondra was wrong! Am I the first person EVER to order and pay online, or send a son or daughter in for something I paid for? Come on! Have some systems in place, and train your employees. Having the lowest price (maybe, I didn't shop too extensively) is NOT the only consideration for choosing a business. Be nice. Have systems that work. Have empathy when you inconvenience your customers. Evidently, based on ALL your reviews other than oil changes, this just is not the case. Thanks for the follow-up note but I already emailed y'all regarding having a problem with one of the tires not holding air. It's been back twice (so far) for this issue. I made a brake replacement appointment for today, Sunday sept 6th at 9am (the Sunday before Labor Day). When I arrived for my appointment, there were several other people in the parking lot waiting. Turns out they have a sign on the door saying they are closed today, but online it says that they are open and let me make an appointment. If a lady name Sondra Bentley is ringing you up or ringing you out......you need to double check everything she did, the card she put it on..everything she did before you leave the store. When you find mistakes she is nobody to deal with and will only act helpful and concerned when Chris the Manager is standing there....she made mistakes after convincing me to open up their card with them and then while standing in there today with her....she gets on the phone with Synchrony bc she was trying to correct her mistakes....in front of me hangs up on them and says...."they put me on hold" not even thinking about what we as customers go through trying to get her mistakes corrected.....really with her at the cash register helm.....I would not use this Pep Boys location......too much of a risk with her at the cash register.....she calls herself the Assistant Manager......awful and then more awfulness after her mistakes were pointed out to her......I would not even use this location, too much of a risk and then a huge mess later......stay away from this location.....really with 5 other competitors within a 10 mile radius from this location you may even be better off with another company all togather read more

Went in for an oil change on Jan 24. Had to have my car towed twice back to them. Still not sure if they put oil in. It's now March 5th and it seems like no one wants to refund me from me having to take my car to bmw to get looked at.. the manager chris will try to talk down to you to the point you are afraid to go back there.. avoid them unless you want to have 4000 worth of damage done to your car & then no one reaches out like they say!! read more

When we arrived and I told them at the service counter all they said was "who did you talk to?" UPDATE: Chris the service manager reached out to me after the review to apologize for our experience and explain that he is committed to providing us - and all customers - with a much better experience, and express the value that he places on our business. He made no excuses for the service we received last week which I greatly appreciate. As a result of our conversation my husband and I have restored confidence in Pep Boys and their commitment to providing their customers the service they deserve as is evidenced by Chris taking the time and initiative to reach out to us. We will give this location another chance when our vehicles need service - which hopefully isn't for a while. This is the third car we have had in to Pep Boys and unfortunately my experience has been the same as the previous reviewers. Our cars aren't ever finished when they are promised and the service leaves something to be desired. Most recently my husband and I purchased a set of 4 tires and forgot to request the military discount. When I called 5 mins after I left the voicemail said they were closed although they weren't so I called the 1-800-number. They contacted the store who advised to come back the next day. I am here now dealing with Mike who is seemingly highly irritated - as is our typical experience with him. He is curt, rude and condescending and should not be interacting with customers. I have observed the same behavior from him towards the other employees. In the future we will take our business where it is appreciated and where we are not treated as if we are a nuisance. read more

They broke the bleeder valves on my car and then had the nerve to quote me the cost of replacing the broken parts. Completely ridiculous. And then when I talk to their customer service I keep getting told I'll have a call back within 24-48 hours and never get called back. Don't take your service here. read more

General Manager: Lack of Customer Service and professionalism. I went there for a tire repair, and since I didn't had the purchase receipt they couldn't do anything, because I did not purchase the tire on his store location. I had to do his job of going to the car, take a picture and show him the tire brand, Then HE went back to check what was the problem!!! He could do it since the beginning . Then the He said that he dont has the tire because it was discontinued, HE ordered from another store. TWO weeks later I called again to follow up the status. HE said that the tire I ordered never arrived to the store because is discontinued. FIRST, HE ORDERED NOT ME. SECOND, I HAD TO DO HIS JOB, of calling another store to check if they have a invoice on system. After giving him the invoice information, he still saying that I order the wrong tire, when since the beginning was his fault. The GM definitely does not know how to do his job, and do not even look for solutions to solve a problem, Giving customers a hard time with issues that already have on their cars. read more

This place redeemed my faith in pep boys. After a terrible experience at another pep boys, these guys (specifically Scott and Bob) were great. I was pretty quickly in and out. They had to evaluate my tire, see if it qualified for road hazard, take the old one off the rim, put the new one on and balance it. Would recommend them for tire issues. read more

Brought my car in with brake issues and offered best explanation/description as a non-mechanic (and someone who is respectful to professionals about not telling them their job). 2 hours later they prepared my bill and said it was all fine, but I knew it wasn't. With their expert re-examining, we concluded my concerns were not at all addressed and there was in fact a major repair necessary. The service reps were very nice and agreed the technician did not address my valid concern, and that my time had been wasted. Brakes should work 100% and I left with no progress because the technician did not follow up (at all) and look for the real issue. I have ZERO CONFIDENCE in the quality of work being done here. LOOK ELSEWHERE! The rating should be NEGATIVE/MINUS stars! Shameful lack of quality! The service rep was literally embarrassed, but my car was NOT fixed. I went there to have new tires put on my car and it was a nightmare. The first time I went they had my car for over three hours and called to tell me they couldn't put them on. The second time I went they forgot to order the tires in for me. So I took it back and they finally did put tires on it but I had a massive oil leak that I didn't have before bringing it in. They told there was nothing they could do. When I went to the repair shop I was told it was most probably from there lift. I called back to talk to the manager and he was very rude and hung up on me. Had an 11 am appointment hadn't heard anything at around 6:45 pm so I called to see what the status was. Got put on hold for 20 minutes then disconnected. When I tried to call back I got a message saying they were closed even though their store hours are until 8. Drove up to see what's going on and waited while they searched around trying to find my key and work order. Turns out they never even touched my car. I made an appointment to get new brake pads at the Florence, KY Pep Boys at 9am. I explained to the man at the counter named "Mike" that I saw my brake pads getting low and I wanted new ones. He told me there was a $15 inspection fee and explained to that this was because "customers are usually wrong". So, their policy is that they didn't trust that I actually wanted new brake pads. 2 hours later I get my first quote of $309 from a condescending lady whose name I didn't catch. I explained their website said $139.99 before a mail-in rebate and showed them the add. After that, she agreed to $174, provided I give up some of the services they offered with the add on the website. The lady pointed out that the brakes only had a 6 month warranty and was in utter disbelief I would want to utilize that service they provided. After my third hour of being there, I was called to the front desk where they told me they were refusing service on my car if I didn't pay more than $174 for more than just brake pads. I told them if they weren't going to work on my car to give it back. Four hours after my 9am appointment they finally gave me my keys back. read more

I tried to buy them at the store, the Female said the=y were not available in the INDY warehouse and Los Angeles was the ONLY place. I ordered online OUT OF THE INDY Warehouse and they were in Florence the NEXT DAY waiting for me! I called the same person back for an install appointment! She wanted to know if I bought them there. I told her online, delivered there from Pep Boys. She said since I didn't get them there they upcharge for installation! She wanted $195 to install 4 new tires and balance them. I was taking the old ones with me. No, as a matter of fact, HELL NO Pep Boys! You now have one pissed off customer that is very vocal!
