I came here about a month ago for an oil change. It was cheap, it was fine. My alternator went out this past weekend and towed it here to get it looked at. First of all, they gouged me - $720 to replace. They said my brakes needed replaced but we're going to charge me $500 for that so I told them not to change them (I'm going to do them myself). Car trouble is just a part of life. We all know it happens, and we all know we have to deal with it from time to time. Very rarely, though, do you have two cars that need service at the exact same time ... and unfortunately, that's what my fiancé and I have been dealing with for the last three days. Fortunately for us, David, Andre, and the rest of the guys at Midas Florence took care of us quickly, professionally, and thoroughly. We both agreed this is some of the best customer service we've received when it comes to car care ... and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend this location for all of your automotive needs. My car went down first ... all of a sudden, the AC just wasn't blowing. It took me all of one day of driving with the windows down in humid July weather to realize this was a fix that couldn't wait. I called a trustworthy dealership that I typically go to for oil changes and the like ... and they said they couldn't take a look at my AC until the beginning of August. That just wasn't going to work for me, so I enlisted my fiancé's help. He called a few more dealerships, and heard pretty much the same story. On a whim, he called Midas, and they said, "Yeah, bring it in today. We can take a look and see what's going on." So we brought it in on Saturday, with the promise that they would take a look later that afternoon, or first thing Monday, since they're closed on Sundays. We were elated with that timing - especially considering how long we would've had to wait if we'd gone elsewhere. But ... when it rains it pours, and our car troubles didn't end there. As we were going about our weekend, my fiancé's brakes started making an absolutely awful grinding noise. When Midas called him on Monday with an update about my car, he asked if he could bring his in as well. They had the same response, "Sure, bring it in. We can take a look this afternoon!" They had his brakes/brake pads looked at and replaced in just over three hours, which was barely enough time for us to even notice that we had both cars in the shop at once. My car was as good as new the day after that, and I have to say again, this is probably the quickest I've ever been in and out of a mechanic. Midas Florence really came through for us - and with such great prices, we won't go anywhere else to service our cars without stopping here first. read more

Should have read the reviews before I came here. So here I sit three hours into a two brake change and oil change. That shouldn't take more than half this time and there my tires still sit on the shop floor. My billable time is pretty high. Should I just send them an invoice? DON'T GO HERE!!! SMH. Another half hour shot. And yet ANOTHER half hour shot. Test driving car now. Complained that I had made an appointment and its four hours. Was told I never made an appointment and made excuses. We were on our way from Cincinnati to Florida and heard a thumb coming from the bottom of the car. The guys at Midas saw how distressed we were in having such a set back so close to starting a long trip and took us in right away. While I don't usually write reviews, the customer service I received from Brandon, at your Smith Rd. location in Norwood was so exceptional that I felt the need to take the time to do so. Brandon was very friendly and knowledgable. He explained in very understandable detail exactly what my service would intel and how to monitor my repairs going forward. been going there for years. was there 2 years ago spent $1,300. new LEFT WHEEL BEARING and bushings. got home missing 2 hub caps. not put on right flew off. cost me $50.00 for new ones. went there 2 days ago. #1.600. new rotors, drums, pads and shoes... LEFT WHEELING BEARING. Mech said who ever did the last wheel bearing didnt tighten the nut. it was them that touched it last .They got real quite. test drive , said your ready to go. started driving home .about 4 miles. wheel started shaking. pulled over , Rt ft tire was almost on the rim. air it up, drove back . pulled it in said bad valve stem was bent . fixed it. drove home, ck tire again . missing my valve stem extender. now have to pay $8.00 for New ones. had coupon for $30.00 per axle. free brake insepection. We fought for 10 mins till they finally took it. went there twice before for oil change, Set there for hours , walked out both times. This place sucks. I will never return, and will tell my friends not to go there also. read more

Midas is amazing. It is the only place my husband and I will take our vehicles. We have went to other places only to pick up our car and Jeep and return it to Midas. They are always so quick and efficient. A little pricey, but you're paying for the time THEY SAVE YOU! Currently just dropped off my husbands Jeep to get the seatbelt fixed and they took it in instantly without an appointment. Another couple just came in with an appointment to get their tire looked at and they brought their car back instantly! You can't beat that service. read more

These guys were awesome! I had done an oil change and after all that... the drain plug started leaking. I felt like an idiot. Florence Midas got me in with an appointment, looked over everything, cleaned it up to find the problem. Eventually we found out that the copper washer used must not have been providing the seal needed and they switched it out free of charge. They worked diligently to help me solve the problem. And after a small hit to my manhood we no longer have a leak. Thank you Midas! read more

I will never take my car there again, spent 3,000 on a credit card they had me get to cover a previous cost after a quote I knew I wouldn't be able to afford. So I go get my other car looked at and worked on multiple times, on my way driving the car I got "fixed" home, the same problem persists after multiple costly trips to fix the issue, and it's worse, so it brakes down. I literally can't even afford to get a different opinion. Needless to say I won't trust this location with any car I will ever get. The synchrony bank card has extremely high interest rates and completely screws your credit. Too bad you can't get a refund on mechanical work. read more

Nobody likes to have work done on their vehicles, but when it has to be done, this is where I go for standard maintenance or repairs. I like they take you out to show you what they are recommending and that they don't pressure you and make you feel like everything is an emergency. The store manager did a great job dealing with the busy in and out customers, his guys in the shop, and entertaining us while we waited. I hate spending money lol but some things have to be done! read more

Setting: Made an appointment to get a standard oil change 3 days in advance. Showed up 20 minutes early. Service: 1 hour 15 minutes after my appointment my car gets lifted. 2 hours after appointment my car gets lowered. 2 hours and 15 minutes later unapologetic representative sells me on other services before taking payment. Summary: do not go here unless all other places to get an oil change burn to the ground. Service sucked read more

SHOULD HAVE READ THE REVIEWS!!! If you're going to do business here make sure you know the lingo of every service. I'm not car savvy, but called around about new tires and remember specifically asking if it included "balancing and everything" and was told yes! Well, apparently alignment (which everyone knows is a must with new tires) is NOT included. If a customer calls and you do not mention that this crucial service is an additional fee, whether the customer brings it up or not, the employee not bringing it up is entirely misleading. Great way to build new customer trust.....be careful or they may charge you for the cup for the "free" coffee! Will not recommend and will not return read more

The assistant manager rung me up for a basic oil change. He was very friendly and didn't push any additional services. The oil change itself was only $20. Their shop was extremely busy but they were able to squeeze me in. Overall I was pleased and I plan to go back for future oil changes. read more

I would give negative stars if I could. I called and received a quote to replace a muffler on a 1997 Honda Civic. Quote was $280. More than I wanted to spend but the work needed to be done. Picked up the car today and the cost is $613! How does this even happen??!!!! Of course the work is done and I have to pay to get the car. So completely passed off!!!!! read more

This place is great if you want to take your car back over and over. I had my tied rod ends replaced and then I needed new motor mount bushing the next week, and then the day after my alternator was replaced my upper radiator hose had two cuts in it. The price alone is enough to complain about but to add on everything else they mess up will make you wish you got another car read more

I went in to get new brake pads. They found that my left front strut had broken away from its mount. They wanted 600 dollars to fix the strut and strut mount. They advised me both front struts should be replaced and that would be 1200 dollars. Both figures are with a 99 dollar brake pad replacement. So knock a 100 dollars off. I decided to take my car to my dad and he replaced both front struts and mounts for 250 dollars with new parts. The men at midas were nice and did do a fine job putting in my new brake pads, but I have to say the money they wanted for the strut work was robbery since I got it done for hundreds of dollars cheaper read more

I do not usually post a 5 star for anything but Andre is a lifesaver. My son and his new wife left Cleveland and only made it to Florence and his truck broke down, pulling his camper no less. Sat night in Florence and, obviously no part available. Andre let them set up the camper in his lot and ran them power...too cold to run water or he would have. That might my daughter in law was hospitalized for stomach issues and is just getting out tonight, but that is a story for another review. That Sun night it snowed more than Ky usually sees and Andre was out late but he still came in on Monday when most of Ky was closed in order to get my son his part. I did not think this level of service existed any more and was thrilled that my son found it when he needed it most. Thank you Andre and team, from the bottom of a father's heart. read more

This has been my go to place for over a year now. The manager is really nice and doesn't try to sell you crap you don't want/need. The guys in the back are super fast. I have referred several friends and family here. They did leave a four inch scratch on my steering wheel last visit, which I was annoyed about.... But other than that, no real complaints. read more

Being a teenage female going to get my car checked out, its easy to get taken advantage of and ripped off, which was the case at this Midas. I needed my brakes done - new pads an rotors all around - which was absolutely necessary and had been pointed out by the dealer a few weeks prior. When I received the phone call with an update as to what needed to be done, Andre told me what I already knew and that my back calipers needed replaced. This 1) wasn't brought up as an issue during the inspection at the dealer and 2) racked my bill up to $1400 so I was a little on edge and suspicious of where this "issue" came from. With that being said, I picked up my car, dealt with Andre who is NOT friendly or considerate under ANY means, and took my car across the street to CarX, who then SHOWED me what everything looked like and assured me that my calipers did NOT need replaced and wrote me an estimate under $600. I absolutely do not recommend Midas on US 42. It's a waste of time and money and the customer service is awful. read more
