DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT HERE!!!!! If I could give this negative stars I would. I made an appointment online 5 days in advance to do a state inspection on my car. This store waited until less than 24 hours prior to the appointment to call and tell me they do not have anyone on the schedule that can perform a state inspection. When I asked for the corporate phone number the manager chris told me he wished more people would call corporate because their online system sucks. It does not know when there are people to do the work just when they are open. I was under the impression that if a business is open they should have someone available to do the work otherwise there is no point in being open. I called corporate and spoke to a supervisor named Dan who never even apologized. He said that they would review my complaint and they have 48 BUSINESS hours to get back to me which in turn means about 4-5 days. He also stated that there is no solution for me and I should take my car some where else to get inspected. This place does not want your business so don't bother to give it to them. read more

Dropped my car off to have a screw removed and tire plugged. I was told it would take approximately 30minutes. Decided to run an errand and returned an hour and a half later to find my car hadn't been serviced. The rep said "I'm not sure why but it looks like your car hasn't been worked on, I can close you out" and returned my keys! No explanation, offer to expedite service, or apology for the inconvenience! Terrible customer service (or lack there of)! read more

I'm really surprised that others have rated this shop so highly. I went in for an inspection. I was told that I had leaking struts and some other issues. Rather than spending the money to have them do it (way too much), I bought new struts from them. I installed them myself, discovering that not one, repeat NOT ONE of the four struts had any indication of fluid on them. So, not one of the four struts was actually leaking. So I went back to get the sticker, but got the runaround from the manager instead. And when I told him how they had lied to me and asked him what he was going to do to make it right, he blew smoke up you know where. I would not recommend getting your tire pressure checked at this location, much less actual work. The manager is no better than a criminal. read more

This has gotta be the worst costumer service pep boys I've ever been to . I walked in to buy oil and a filter for my car and had no idea which kind I needed so I went to the service desk . I was never asked if anyone could help me I stood there with my over tired 3 year old and finally ask one of the girls if she could please help me . Mind you I interrupted her conversation with the other workers . She looked up what I needed in the computer and rambled off the kind and the part number for the filter . I asked if she could show me where they are and she pointed in the over there direction . DON'T GO HERE!!!! Is it possible to give 0 Stars because this place is AWFUL. They illegally failed me for State Inspection. I took my 2011 Kia Soul for a PA State Inspection and was told I needed new brake pads and rotors, front & back. They said the rotors were rusted and needed to be replaced. The cost for all repairs would be around $850.00. When I told them I couldn't afford $850.00 and I didn't have any issues with my breaks (no noise what so ever), they called back and said they would pass me if I had my rear rotors and break pads replaced for $480.00. Again, I said I thought they were incorrect and told them not to do any work on my car. I paid for both the State Inspection & Emissions Inspection but only left with an Emissions sticker. Today I took my car to a local and highly recommended Auto Service and was told all I needed were new front break pads. He said there was minimal rusting on my rotors and the rear breaks were in great condition. I can not believe how badly they tried to take advantage of me. read more

Total Scam. Woke up in the morning with a flat tire on my truck, I'm pretty handy so I was able to put on the spare tire, & I brought my flat tire to pepboys. I knew exactly what was wrong it was the valves them, and the air pressure sensor come loose and needed a new nut to hold it in. Otherwise it was fine. I was told by Mary in the morning that was a $5 part and would be fixed in no time. I never got a call I had to call them. They didn't even know who I was when I first called in. There is no record of me bringing the wheel in. I was able to locate it and they did get it fixed after overcharging me over five hundred percent and I had to pay $120 for a $10 fix. Complete scam never go here ever complete last resort. I would rather have taken it to a dealership and paid half as much as I did. Would have gotten better service to. The service people were real smug bringing my wheel out to me. read more

Wonderful! I know nothing about cars, so I called ahead to ask if they could replace my front headlight. They could (and did) no appointment necessary. No wait time and price ended up being cheaper than what was quoted over the phone. read more

Towed there as the closest location by my roadside assistance after I blew a tire and saw my spare was flat. Everyone was there friendly and helpful and made me feel like a customer whose time and vehicle they valued. I was impressed. Will definitely be heading back there. read more

I went to Pep Boys to get a new high pressure power steering hose installed and a front end alignment. Not only was the power steering hose $300 less than the what the dealership quoted, but the service was excellent. The manager, Todd, was extremely helpful and the technicians were very knowledgeable. It was a very pleasant experience and transaction. I definitely would recommend the Brookhaven location of Pep Boys to my friends for their automotive needs and repairs. Remember to ask for Todd, he'll take good care of you. read more

Our car's serpentine belt snapped 5 minutes after we left the airport parking lot. Our insurance set up a tow and recommended that we go to Pep Boys in Brookhaven, Pa. It was the best advice we received. Upon arrival, I walked to the back of the store (it was approximately 8:30 PM, a 1/2 hour before closing), and the person working the service counter, Victoria Brown, had already determined that they had the belt in stock and had us set up with an appointment for the next morning. All this while she was on the phone looking for a part for another job she was scheduling for the next day (at 8:30 PM!!!). In the morning, I called at 8:15 AM and the service manager, Todd Robinson answered. When asked if the car would be worked on today he replied that there was a tech out charging the battery and looking it over to determine if there was a reason besides age that made the belt snap. At 9:30 we called back and were informed that the car was completed, and that the reason for the break was age. When we picked it up Todd checked us out immediately and even came in with a lower price than what was first quoted. Victoria and Todd made a situation that was very stressful at best, an excellent experience with the best possible outcome we could hope for! read more

On 5/25/12, I went to the Pep Boys in Brookhaven, PA. I did not have an appointment. I had a slow leak in my front left tire. The automotive team manager said they were quite busy and I may have to wait a while. It was 8 a.m. and I had to make a 10 a.m. appointment at my job, thus, I needed to get out by 9:15 to be on time. When I told the manager this, he said it shouldn't take that long. Not only did they find and fix my leak, they did it by 9:10 a.m. sharp and I was on my way. I was on time for my meeting at work. I really appreciated the service and dedication to get me out in a timely manner, even though there were several cars ahead of me. That's great service. read more

I've always been hesitant about going to Pepboys, the rumor is that i'd have poor customer service as well as poor auto service. I have never been more glad to be wrong! Mary, the service manager, was so friendly and helpful. She made sure I had what I needed, was never pushy about anything, and treated me with the utmost respect whenever I had any questions (which was often). Her mechanics did a thorough job and kept my car clean, there is nothing worse than oil stains on my floor mats!. Mary and her crew have earned a life long customer. read more

Went to pep boys in brookhaven to get tires for my truck. Got two previous estimates at two other tire stores and both estimates were close to $800. Came to pep boys and got an amazing deal closer to $600. The price was great, the representative charlisa was amazing and the General Manager was very kind, he even let me use his personal cell to take the survey bc my computer was down. Wonderful experience overall, fast service great staff 5 STARS!!!! read more

ZER0 Stars. Went there to replace my fuel pump. Was charged $800 for everything. My car died a few weeks later and I had to have it towed. Towed it to a different repair shop who discovered that the fuel pump was not replaced, nor was the fuel filter and I can only assume anything else. The fuel pump was duct taped. Absolutely ridiculous. The Pep Boys employee I spoke with told me that they always recommend that people tow the car back to Pep Boys. Of course, they would have loved to cover it all up and charge me more money. I took the saved evidence to Pep Boys and it took 3 weeks!! to get a full refund + the cost of the tow. The employees were barely apologetic. Perhaps they were speechless about the situation but still an inexcusable response. Said they would deal with the mechanic. Obviously! the mechanic should be fired immediately. Even so I will never go back. I have had other issues with them in the past but this incident is newsworthy if it also happened to other people. I don't know how an auto repair shop like Pep Boys doesn't have a supervisor that visually inspects that the work has been completed before the owner is charged for the service. ZER0 Stars. read more
