I have been a customer of Mavis in Brookhaven for the last three years. During that time I have had nothing but stellar service from the staff and mechanics. The staff are always courteous and friendly, while also being knowledgeable about the service Mavis provides and the pricing. And if there is a coupon or discount that they can apply, they are quick to make sure that they apply it. Thank you Jess! The mechanic are all professional and knowledgeable. All five of my cars that I brought to them for some type of service has always been done swiftly, correctly, and with care. What I appreciate the most is the fact that they don't treat me like a "dumb customer " but they take the time to give me all the information I need to make an informed decision, especially when at times it can be a large financial impact. tl;dr version: I do not recommend taking your car to this Mavis. If you insist, however, here are some recommendations: (1) Confirm the cost of whatever service you need multiple times, and be sure to ask about EVERYTHING: materials, labor, recycling fees, days-ending-in-y taxes. Bet on the fact that the price they quote on the phone is what THEY are treating as your minimum bid. (2) Confirm the date and time of your appointment multiple times. If you get a follow-up call confirming your date and time, don't think your adventure is over. DO NOT drive over to what you think is your appointment time without calling first. These guys moved the time AND DATE of our appointment without ever telling us, then blamed it on their "call center" when we asked, WTF? (3) Do NOT think you will work getting your car serviced in as part of a day full of errands. Plan to devote several hours to your Mavis experience. (4) Ideally, take your car to these guys only after getting your car fully inspected by a trusted mechanic. Our car had gone through its annual inspection with a garage we fully trust (Mano's--they are the best), and they said that our tires passed inspection but are getting toward the end of their life. We decided to just take care of the issue, so we took the car for new tires THE NEXT DAY. Mavis tried to convince us that our car needed a laundry list of additional work. The name of the game with these guys is UPSELL. You've been warned. (5) Don't expect clear answers. They are charging more in labor than the parts cost. CHECK YOU STATEMENTS -REQUEST A PROPER RECEIPT/ not that bs one they supply. They didn't do the work I requested to be done and then ON TOP OF THAT 100% didn't did the job that they did do right. I immediately return to get them to fix it correctly. Scam alert!!! Don't go to this shop. They scamming people. They charge me for the alignment, but when I ask for proof the paperwork, they said we forgot to print it. They then they said our printer is broken and I got under the car. Check the adjustment nut for the alignment. It rusted over the years they didn't even put wrench on it so basically they didn't done the service but charged me119.99 I used to work as mechanic myself, and I know what I am talking about. They don't have proof of the service that they should give me as a paperwork from alignment machine and they refuse to refund the money for service they never did. The worst place to go. I made an appointment for a wheel alignment for 11 am they said it was about 4 in front of me . I returned around 4:45 pm because they closed on Sundays at 5 there was a car in the bay and u was told there was one more before me. Would not recommend. I made an appointment two days ago for a state inspection. When I showed up, was suggested to leave the vehicle. Mind you I have an appointment and this is a what 20 minute service, tops? I'd been here once before, and didn't remember it being this terrible. But it's been a nightmare here today. The dude I guess running the spot answered my call & quoted me a tire price. I asked him if it included mounting and balancing and installation. He said yes. Turns out, it didn't. When I got here, a girl working the counter with her AirPod in whispered to me and asked me how she could help me. I told her the information that I needed to give her about my tire size. She quoted me and told me a different price than I was told on the phone. Then she explained to me that what I was told on the phone is different than reality, that it didn't include mounting and balancing. The guy who I spoke to on the phone walked in, also with an AirPod in, and just started talking to her as I'm mid-sentence speaking with her. He then tappped her to get her attention away from speaking with me. He continued to speak to her as I was speaking throughout the entire time I was talking to her. I tried to ask her questions, but she kept whispering answers and when I asked her to speak up several times, she refused to speak any louder. The homie who I had spoken on the phone had walked in to talk to other customers and in an incredibly loud voice, answered all of their questions. Every time he opened his mouth to speak to the other customer, I couldn't hear anything but him. On the phone, I was told that they were busy, but it would take between an hour and an hour and a half. When I was about to give them my keys, I confirmed, "it'll be about 90 minutes?" The dude responds " I said about an hour, an hour and a half..." I nodded. (I'm no mathemagician, but by my calculations...carry the one...I'm thinking 90 minutes is roughly an hour and a half) That was roughly 3 and a half hours ago. Roughly 210 minutes ago. I waited to write a review because I spoke to the regional manager Joe and he said he would follow up but it's been two weeks and I even left a message after not hearing back. I took my daughter's car in for inspection and the store manager came back and said it needs brakes, wipers, a bushing and arm , shocks and struts which were done in April. Total was 2475. Asked how long he said probably 2 hours and my appointment was at 10 Am but got there at 9:15. They took car back at 10 but I was there for 9 hours. Only updates I got were the ones I kept asking for. Store manager took cigarette breaks every fifteen minutes, on his cell phone and curses Every three words. When They finally finished the car it was making a noise it didn't come in with so took another hour. Store manager bounces from car to car and then shoves someone on it to finish up his mess. His wife came up and they stood there talking and he was even eating from a container she had with her. When they were passed closing time store manager wife waking around giving evil eyes . I had to pick up my daughter from airport and was 45 minutes late. The car is still making a noise it didn't have and I just made an appointment with a mechanic to check out car. I am going to follow up with corporate and also better business bureau. I might even get an attorney . On top of that they have a worker that over compensates with compliments thinking it will help but It was very inappropriate. On a positive note ... When calling Mavis Brookhaven, my call went to a national call center, and I was quoted a lower price on the tires I received. When I went to pay at Brookhaven, the price was higher. This place is highly dysfunctional and actually ripped me off. I purchased 2 new tires and happened to be the wrong size. The manager Ben admitted his techs made a mistake and attempted to make it right. His version of making it right was selling me 4 new tires, throwing an alignment in, a tire warranty which seemed to be worthless as someone came in with a nail in the sidewalk and refused to honor the warranty. Even though I got an alignment 2 weeks ago was insisting I needed it along with other items. Ben, you're a con artist and I can see right through you. When I finally agreed on the 4 tires he refused to honor the mistake and told me I had to pay for the previous balance even though they made a mistake. Don't go here these guys are criminal. I took my car to Mavis for brake issues. I had gone to another place for a quote just before coming to Mavis so I knew that the car would need new brake pads front and rear, as well as new front rotors. After taking off the wheels, the mechanic said that I would need rear rotors also. I said ok to new pads and rotors for all wheels. I also asked for a brake flush and oil change. They performed all of the work quickly, keeping me informed all the time. I had to leave the car overnight but given the amount of work - and a decent price - I was happy to do so. I have not always had great luck at this location (my last visit was in 2019), but they did a great job this time. read more

I booked an appointment 11/11 at 11:00am back on 11/7. I booked it through the Goodyear site and received a confirmation email and everything. I drove myself thinking I will just wait 30 min to an hour because that is how long it has always taken when I get tires. (Also the estimate I was given online) When I arrived, the guy at the front desk said "the appointment time just guarantees you'll be seen today. I got 12 cars ahead of you and it'll be ready in about 6-7 hours." No sorry for the inconvenience or anything. As if I'm aware that the appointment schedule means nothing. Oh, and they didn't have record of my appointment in their system apparently. But once I showed them my confirmation email it magically showed up. I'm not a cynical person, but seems like they were trying to get me to reschedule for some other time. They told me we will called you once it's ready. since I brought myself, I walked a couple miles back home. I asked what time they close, they said 5:00. i come back at 4:50 (walked back... after no phone call and thinking I have to get there by 5:00) and my car is still on the lift with no tires on it. it is now 5:32pm, they're closed, and I am here waiting. Today after leaving Giants with a car full of groceries I noticed my tire pressure on the back left tire was very low. I called my husband and told him I was gonna turn around and go to the tire spot by Giant. When I arrived I parked and my plan was to wait for my husband to transfer my groceries and then ask about my tire when a gentleman by the name of James came over. He said you need help ma'am? Let me start off with NO I did not have an appointment, I work for PECO in P.A I live in jersey, I got a blow out today near by and Mavis was the only place to go, now let me tell you my car was towed in at 11:30 i am now just leaveing at​ ... for ONE tire, not once was i approached with a ETA or anything while i was the ONLY person in the store, i had to ask . & then i was told 1 car ahead of mine, while waiting 4 hours in someone called and obviously the car was not brought in (drop off) and of course they brought it in and added another car in front of mine. Now let me tell you as an EX manager for mavis/ sts for 3 years i would have NEVER not gave my WAITING customer a ETA. Nor would i have made someone wait 5+ hours for 1 tire especially when the other cars were dropped off, if this was my store i would have brought the car in myself removed the tire mounted it and balanced it in 30mins TOPS instead of sitting in my chair for 5+ hours, if you can't run / properly prioritize your customers you should not be running a store. Had an appointment to have two tires installed on 11/22...Dropped car off and they stated they recommend four tires and cant just install the two (common tire installer ploy)...I say no I will pick the car up. I pick the car up and speak with different employee and ask to purchase the two tires outright without the install...told tires are not in the building (then how were you going to install them ?) I order the tires and am told they will be in the next day...No call, No tires when I go to store I reorder and am told that they are to be in on December 4....I go December 4 and am told that the they will be in December 5....I go in December 5 and am told they were cancelled and cant figure out how I echo the statement that I feel like I need a vacation after dealing with these idiots and that's me being nice read more

I would recommend that no one should ever take their car here. I had a 9 AM appointment for an inspection on a brand new car and was told the wait would be 3 hours, which was long to begin with. 4 hours later the car still was not done, and they told me it would take several more hours to get it inspected. I refused all work and wanted a 2nd opinion. However, they had already removed my lug nuts and claimed they couldn't put them back on the car. When he was doing his magic discount machine, he told me he would do $9 per lug nut. All of a sudden, he went back on his word, and said it would be $15. He claimed he could bring up a recording of the conversation to prove it but couldn't come up with any of that information. He refused to talk to my boyfriend because my boyfriend was standing his ground and he knew he could take advantage of me if I were alone. We made sure he called the cops and the cops agreed that he was just trying to screw us but they couldn't do anything about it. SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES!! DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!! He lied to me when he quoted me, he lied about the necessary work I needed done, he lied to me when he told me he would give me the best price possible, he continued to lie and I was a patient and honest customer. We've used Mavis every time we need new tires. They have the best deals around. Now, if you call and make an appointment, the call center will schedule it without telling you it's really first come first serve. This is not the actual service center and they have no control over what the call center does!!! The front desk has to deal with people coming in for their "appointment" only to tell them that there is a wait. Will you wait? You bet..they are busy. Bc they are good..and they have great deals. My advice, drop your car off as early as you can. Get a ride if possible. The mechanics are thorough and don't try to upsell. They don't do any extra work until you agree to it. If you go and you wait, be patient and don't take it out on the staff. The front desk person who was there when I was stayed so patient and helpful even when dealing with irritated customers. The customer service is terrible! The front desk person is one of the rudest and most unhelpful people I've ever dealt with. On the phone, I tried to find out how much it would cost to repair my tire. All she would say was it depended on the size of my rim, and would not give me any more information. She told me I could just come in without an appointment (later I would discover that I needed to "drop it off"). When I arrived, she was not at the front desk, but was on the other side of the glass wall where the mechanics are (she could see their were customers). One of the mechanics had to tell her to go help me and the other customer waiting behind me. She comes out with no smile and no eye contact, and impolitely says, "How can I help you?" Then when I was giving her my information, she abruptly interrupts me and tells me to talk louder. So I did, then she tells me I don't have to yell and asks if she should get someone else to help me. This place is a joke and a ripoff. To start, it took them 7 hours to install my tires. They floating manager said they were swamped. ( ok , then dont book more appointments ya dope. TL;DR: Do not go here. Awful service from installers to corporate. This place is the worst. The absolutely incompetent staff, from tire tech to regional trainer, are all clown shoes. In June I got a flat tire, so I swapped out my full size spare and made an appointment at this cruel joke of a tire place, dropping $660 on performance tires. Walking into the showroom, there were a few hand-written signs stating that masks were mandatory, and the gentleman behind the counter had his chin well protected (albeit with nose and constantly ajar mouth fully exposed). I explained that I needed the day-to-day tire put back on the rear driver side, and throw the spare back in the trunk. He nodded and mumbled something about a note on the work order. Four and a half hours later (again, made an appointment), I show up and inquire about my car. I was told in a quite condescending tone that "We have a lot of appointments today, we'll call you when it's done!". No kidding, I'm one of the appointments. I finally get a call around 5pm (seven hours after my appointment and the time they close) that they were done, and if I show up in 15 minutes, someone will graciously stay so I can pick up my car. Which is great, because my three year old, my two month old, and I were 30 minutes away. I told them that I could pick it up on Sunday and to not wait around. Oh, they also tried to tell me that my rotors were shot, and that they could replace them for the friend's price of a grand. I declined, as I have a mechanic that I like and trust. Said mechanic took a look and assured me that they were fine and charged me nothing. As in $1,000 less. But I digress. I go to pick up my car on Sunday morning, almost a full 24 hours after my appointment that I made two weeks prior. Again, I was met with bare faces. After I paid, I asked about the manufacturer's rebate that was advertised and given a silent look and a sheet of paper with the details on how to claim. Walking around my car to check out the new shoes, I see that the spare is still on the car, but with a brand new tire. Sigh. I check the trunk, and see my daily rim with the same flat tire still on it. I run back in and grab the sales associate. Immediately, he blamed the tech, stating that he "made a note on the work order" and that if I needed the car that I could bring it back on Monday after work and they'd swap it out, as they still had tire. I called on my break on Monday to see if I should plan on staying at the shop or plan on finding a ride. "You should get a ride, we have a lot of appointments" or something to that effect. Yeah, no kidding, I was one of them. Two days ago. I drop it off around 2:30 and wait until 5 to call, when I was told that they didn't get to it, but it was "First thing tomorrow". I call again on Tuesday around 2:30 to again inquire about my car, which is going on a week now, and was told that they were rolling it out of the shop now. I load my entire clan into my wife's car and head over. As we pull up, my car is half out of the shop with the hood up and a couple of guys looking in. I get the curiosity, it's an 8 cylinder in a tiny hood, and if looking were all they did, I'd have no problem. However, a few weeks later, I pop my hood to check the oil and the engine cover has a large crack and doesn't snap in snug like it used to. I'd been under the hood since it was inspected in March, and it was fine then. So again, I do my walk-around. Spare rim is still on the car with the new tire. I check the trunk, and the daily rim has the old spare tire on it. So it took them another 24 hours to put a tire on a rim that wasn't. Even. On. The. Damn. Car. I called customer service to explain my dissatisfaction, and was met with sympathetic placating and told that the regional trainer would call me in a timely manner. The first phone call was from the store manager who I politely told that I was going to hold out for the RT as I didn't trust anyone at his shop anymore, which he apparently had heard before, because he took it in stride. The next call I got was from the RT, to whom I explained the situation for the umpteenth time. He assured me that they would get everything straight (i.e. do what I paid for), but I told him I was self-quarantining waiting for results of a COVID test, so I was wished health and told to call once I was cleared. Ten days later I'm cleared and call RT to give him the quote I received from a local car repair shop, to see if they would reimburse me or pay up front. I left a message on his phone and I have not heard back from him. That was almost two months ago now. Mavis Discount Tires of Brookhaven, PA could give me a full refund, fix all the things they botched, butchered, and broke, pay off my mortgage, and give me and my family free tires and service for life and I would still never go there. I might stop telling anyone with ears about my horrid experience there, but probably not. read more
