If I could give less than zero stars I would. It was never a good start for this shop. I sent in my car for rebuilt transmission and spent $3000! When I picked up my car they had broken my window and made it fall off the track so it wouldn't seal correctly. So I sent the car back to them for the window to be fixed. They took more than 2 months to fix the window they broke and now engine problem that wasn't there before. As they just left it out with the broken window it got rained in and flooded and now is moldy and a total loss. The owner is very shady and tried to just buy the car off of me for cheaper than the transmission and wouldn't tell me what's wrong with it or fix it. But it was flooded from his doing. He wasn't interested in the car for what it was worth before he ruined it. I wouldn't take my car here if there was no other option I'd advise you to do the same. read more

Let's face it, it's hard to find a mechanic that doesn't nickel and dime you; especially one that doesn't rip someone off that doesn't know a rotor from an alternator - um, me. Eric is the owner of the shop and super friendly. He is completely respectful of the fact that I am an auto novice and often describe the problems with my car by attempting to imitate my car's strange noises over the phone. He always explains exactly what he needs to do to fix the problem(s) and how much it will cost (in a way that I can understand without being demeaning). If I bring my car in and they don't find anything wrong with it, they DON'T CHARGE ME ANYTHING! The guys at the shop even offered to drive my husband home the last time he wanted to drop his car off. I recently moved but go back to Eric's because I receive such great service and work for a fair price. Although this shop is in Chester (which may deter some Yelpers) - fear not! This is an easy review. My family and I have taken our cars to Eric for years. He always is fair and very thorough. I recommend him to everyone that I know that asks if anyone knows a reliable mechanic. My favorite example of how ethical and good Eric and his team are at their job is the following story: I used to travel quite a bit for work. Two to three hour drives to my locations. One weekend my Nissan broke down while somewhere in NJ. I had to have my car towed to a local mechanic. They checked it out and quoted me a $1100 repair. I was able to drive my car home. It was a Friday and I was pressed to get it fixed quickly for Saturday. I decided I'd take my car to a Meineke because they had longer retail hours. The people at Meineke checked and said a totally different thing was wrong with my Nissan and gave me an $800 quote. AND, they were super pushy. So, I thanked them for their time and left. I called out of work and waited to get my car to Eric's. When I dropped it off with Eric, I told him everything that the different shops had told me was possibly wrong and the quotes for the repairs. I've known Eric a long time and knew he could be trusted. Which means, he knew I was anticipating a $800-1100 bill. Long story always longer... Eric found the problem with my car. Of which was actually a totally different than the previous diagnosis'. AND -- the best part -- the repair only cost me $147.00. Seriously. Even with the knowledge that I was expecting to pay so much more. Eric and his team are thorough and ethical. They have easy going personalities, which means their customer service is pressure free. We had a great first time experience at Eric's Auto Repair. Just got our car back after a $400 repair which was a lower price compared to other local shops. The job actually took less labor time than Eric's initial quote and they reduced the price without being asked. We will definitly be going back to Eric's for future inspections and repairs. New to DelCo. Trying to locate all good, local services I'll need when we move here. Finding a smart mechanic is a big deal. My older car stalled and sputtered. Instead of hauling it back to Philadelphia for repairs, I checked in with my co- workers who adamantly told me to try Eric's. I called in advance and was told it was fine to bring it in without an appointment. Good. Met Kevin (?) told him the symptoms. Treated me like a human. Office space organized with keys and papers attached. A good sign. A day later I had a call, a diagnosis and a reasonable price for a good part repair. Done within hours and is purring like a kitten.
