The longer version: My car stopped moving forward and I was told it was probably the transmission, this happened on Friday Jan. 21. Bill from Bob & Joe's towing recommended Delaware County Transmissions when I asked him for someone that could repair my transmission. I had been waiting in my car since 11:00 a.m. and AAA (Triple A) Towing was taking a really long time to come get me (over 2 hours). Wilkie Lexus told me the repair would cost me over $6,000 to get a refurbished transmission. I was looking to see if I could get a better price as I didn't want to invest that much money in my 2004 Lexus ES-330. I spoke with a wonderful man who handles sales and is a founder of Delaware County Transmissions, he told me that he has been repairing transmissions for 32 years. I had my car towed to him by C & K Towing (works for AAA. Turns out that both towing companies and Delaware County Transmission are located in the same industrial complex not far from Eagle Road and the Manoa Shopping Center in Havertown, PA. By Tues. my car's transmission was repaired for just over $2,000, including the cost of replacing my Axel which had broken because a large hose or pipe of my transmission had broken or cracked. He was honest, and the repair was done quickly and professionally, and I saved almost $4,000. I was so very impressed with this man, and his business, and I already recommended him to my good friend and neighbor, Liz Turner, who wrote down the name of his business in case she ever needs someone to work on her car's transmission. I thank God for leading me to Delaware County Transmission, I was very pleased with their service. They even washed and detailed my car, and it has been riding very smoothly ever since. Fast forward to 4 weeks later and it finally was finished, incorrectly I might add. I was driving it to work the next day after I received my car back, mind you I already spent 2600 on the rebuild. When I was driving it back it would come out of gear so I took it back to the shop on that day. They informed me that my computer in my car was broken and it had nothing to do with them. Then they told me they would send me to their parts guy to get the computer so they could "make things right" their parts guy gave me the wrong part and I could not get a refund. They told me it was my fault and my car was not their problem anymore. After I got the correct part I got it installed at Nissan and I still had the isssues. I was informed that the transmission was not rebuilt correctly and they refused to honor the 3 year warranty that I paid for and did not offer to fix my problem. I would avoid this place at all costs. They are liars and thieves and I am seeking legal action. In the middle of the job they tell me a connector is leaking and it will be another $250 to replace. I googled it and it turns out that this is pretty common and easy fix. The connector is actually $10 and everyone say it is a 10 minute job including the time to lift the car. When I pick up the car I show them a printout of the real price of the part and they lower it on my bill to $85 for a grand total of $365.78. It is clear that they basically try to take advantage of non technically-inclined people. Well, I end up paying the bill but for sure they will not see my face again and will do my best to warn others.

My search came up with Automotive Powertrain. I was able to get an appointment today and was impressed with the courteous, professional manner I was treated. I asked Darren if I could wait for my car and he said it was going to take time to examine and determine what was wrong. He mentioned they provide free van service so I could leave my car and when service was completed, the van would pick me up at home and take me back to the stop. Jeff took me home and I waited a few hours before Darren called to say the coolant lines were leaking, the gasket needed to be replaced, and they would take it for a test drive before he would call me to say it was ready. Darren said it should be ready today and also gave me a price quote. Around 3:00PM I spoke to Darren and said if my car would be ready today, I would have to leave within the next 20 minutes to take the bus to the shop before they closed at 5:00PM. Darren said the van was leaving to pick me up. To my surprise in about 10 minutes Jeff was outside my house in my car! He wanted me to test drive back to the shop. Darren said there would be no charge if I brought my car in two weeks later to see if there were any leaks. I told Darren I was so glad I took my car to Automotive Powertrain. I didn't keep any of my receipts but fortunately Lou does! He was able to make copies of all receipt documentation for the work that he did on my car so that I could show the insurance company.
