Ugh. Two stars because my app order was ready quickly and the side salad with my wrap had a nice dressing. I ordered the Northern California wrap with a side salad (for $1 that was a steal). The menu indicated that it had grilled chicken, avocado, roasted tomatoes, tomato aioli, sunflower sprouts, and romaine lettuce on a sprouted wrap. First of all, that chicken is *not* grilled. It actually tasted as though it had been boiled, and had zero seasoning. Second, the chicken pieces are so huge that you can't bite through them, and so dry that the chicken gets stuck on your teeth. Third, the tomato items are watery and causes the wrap to fall apart before you even get started. This wrap needs SALT. Bacon, a different dressing, anything. It was so dang bland. Passing on this spot in the future - $12 for an underwhelming wrap is a lot to ask when there is so much sandwich competition in the skyway. read more

This cafe is cool for its amazing offering of coffee, espresso beverages, salads, juices and smoothies. However, for the portions, I find the pricing a bit misaligned. It shouldn't be as expensive as it is, but it's still good. Organic food is not cheap, and it is evident here. For local businesses, the cost has to go somewhere. So, I support cafes like this one. However, hungry people with less disposable income probably could not eat here. I was deciding between a salad or two, and was happy with my choice because it had avocado as an addition - the Spa Salad doesn't come with it, but everything is better w avocado! Yes, it does have an all organic and vegan, gluten-free options, which support local farms, but... I still can't get over the price. The salad was more of a side salad. It supports the concept that people can't survive on salad alone- but you can, just not these sizes. There's also tea and juice, coffee and smoothies, breakfast and pastries. A great selection with something for everyone. I just hoped for more choice for vegan and gluten free that would satiate my hunger and not wipe out my wallet. I've been to People's Organic three times and after being let down one last time, I decided I needed to write a review. While I do appreciate the vegan/vegetarian options they serve, the quality of the food is just not there. I paid over $8 plus tax, plus tip for the "avocado toast". Please see the photo attached of said avocado toast. How is that worth $8? How is it acceptable to have 2 sad pieces of bread, half a teaspoon of avocado, and a fistful of bland greens? No flavor, no condiments, nothing. Nothing gets me more upset than to feel I've been taken advantage of by a restaurant. For around the same price I could go to So Good So You and get the avocado toast of my dreams with artisanal bread, tasty thick avocado mash, seasoned greens, lemon zest and sunflower seeds. Plus a blueberry spinach salad on the side. Unless they rectify this situation, I will not be coming here again. In fact if anyone from People's Organic is reading this, I'd like my money back. Peoples Organic is now open in the IDS. I went the other day for coffee nothing fancy it was good coffee. Thing to note they not only offer soy milk but they also offer Almond milk. Decided to go here today for lunch. They still need to get some of the kinks out of the service and set up. People seemed confused as to whether or not it waiter service or pick up at the bar. I think it will be fine in a few weeks. The food is good. I had the ham croissant. One thing I do really like is they offer sparkling tap water at no charge! One thing I did learn, if you require any changes to what is on a sandwich, the ciabatta sandwiches are pre-made at the Galleria and sent over. If you need them to hold anything they can't. Difficult when you have allergies or food intolerance. All in all it is a nice addition to downtown once the food trucks are gone. read more

For the most part anything I have eaten is pretty good. I give it three stars for the price but for organic seems like pretty standard pricing, but I cringe when I buy a meal here, be ready to spend around 15 plus for breakfast or lunch if you plan to get more than just one dish or decide to add a dessert or drink. I tend to come here for breakfast. I like their quiches, they always have one for the day or week for the most part and it comes with a salad with their own vinaigrette and their version of breakfast potatoes which is roasted and very very good. Coffee, lunch and convenient. My office recently had their catering for a lunch meeting. This was such a nice change up after having Pot Belly five times in a month. Everything was fresh and the hot sandwiches were actually hot. Food Highlights: Turkey & Bacon Ciabatta - Real shaved turkey and flavorful think bacon, nuff said. Peoples Best Veggie Wrap - This wrap does deserve the title of "best veggie" because veggie sandwiches are typically sad and this was the complete opposite. The smell and the mixture of the chickpeas, rice, cashews and herbs was phenomenal! For a second I thought I could become a vegetarian and enjoy life. Plus People's Organic is rocking the pickle in both of these sandwiches. Strong pickle game but it worked. Also, price wise this was an very good option for quality and ingredients compared to Panera, Cosi, etc in the area. On to drinks, I haven't found my match in at People's so I'll stick with the food. Unfortunately, I have to echo what others have been saying.. the prices don't match the portions, and the food itself is nothing to write home about. I am obsessed with French Meadow's Zen salad. My understanding is that French Meadow and People's Organic is under the same ownership, which explains why the Buddha salad at P.O. is incredibly similar to the Zen salad at F.M. I crave the Zen salad at least twice a month. Hoping to satisfy my occasional craving, I've had the Buddha from here 6-7 times over the last couple years working downtown. Sometimes it's pretty good, but most of the time, I regret giving this place another try. Today, the brown rice was hard, the radish was cut too thick (lazily done), there was a chunk of avocado skin in my guac (which also lacked flavor), and the kale is now "cheap kale" (as I call it) rather than the robust baby kale it used to be made with. Aaaaand it's $17 after tip for this salad WITHOUT protein. Woof. The times I've added tofu to it ($4) it comes to about $22 after tip for a super mediocre salad. Time to let go. read more

She was SO disappointed, she was irritated that the IDS location forgot some of the ingredients on her salad and she had to go ask for them and then they gave her them in a ketchup-sized takeout container (super small!), that there were hardly any ingredients in her salad period, and at the overall small size of the salad she received compared to the Galleria location which she said for the same salad was twice as big with a generous amount of ingredients (and she eats there often). As for me, the taste was okay, but I agree it wasn't much of a salad and it was EXPENSIVE!!! I paid $17 for essentially a side salad sized portion and an ice tea. WHA?? How do the workers lined up here for lunch eat here on a frequent basis? Also, the table was dirty, and the silverware needed to be filled (why was it empty at peak lunch hour?). I have been a regular at this location and also at the Edina Galleria location. I order the avocado toast on a regular basis. It's two pieces of whole grain toast with avocado, feta, cucumber , greens and two fried eggs with spicy mayo. It's really good. Today I was in for a big surprise!! The owners decided to keep the price the same but cut the food in half!! So for the same price I've always paid, they gave me one piece of toast and one egg!!! What!?!? BAD BUSINESS!!!! When I ordered it the woman stopped me and said, "I'll need to see if we can still make that." After asking several people if they could make it I was told they were out of the ingredients. Maybe people that work downtown are starved for organic products, but this place does not seem to actually offer what they say they do. FYI folks, not everything they offer is organic. Anyway, the staff doesn't seem to care that much as they are all a little too busy to pay attention to detail, but the day I was there, they messed up almost everyone's order. They forgot about my order and the person's behind me and instead of apologizing they asked if I truly had an order. Here is the receipt, please do better at your job. Maybe it was an off day, but the salads were no different than something I could get at any other restaurant in that area. Also, I am pretty sure I can pay less money if I went to Mission for a salad. If you want organic and tasty, try Dandelion Kitchen just right outside. They change up their menu every once in a while and the staff are awesome. My one coworker raves about People's Organic - but he usually goes to the location in Edina. So naturally i had to try it, once i heard there was a location downtown. I would say the food is overhyped and the service is unfriendly, curt. The experience - disappointing, underwhelming. I've been here twice, once was a sandwich that was so unforgettable that I've since forgotten which one it was. I got the croissant breakfast sandwich today, and at first it was really hot. But when I was more in the middle, the eggs were super cold. They didn't heat it through when re-heating! This really turns me off, especially considering what I paid for it. $8? I ordered a Large black current iced tea and when it was served, it came in a very small cup. Unfortunatley it was so weak, that it had nearly no flavor. And $3.05 is a bit high when I can get a large size that is three times the size from Caribou or Starbucks for about the same price. When the server brought the tea, she said "Here is your Black ice tea", which is one of the flavors that they do sell, so I questioned this, as I ordered the black current flavor. The response I got back was a snappy "That's what I said! This is black current!" Well excuse me! You say one thing and it's wrong and not what I ordered but you snap at me, when I question it !?!? Wow! What a let down!! I work right upstairs from the restaurant and was really excited for it to open. I was totally let down. The Cobb salad was the one of the blandest scalds that I have had downtown. Much better next door at cosi or Au Bon Pain and half the price. For a $17 salad ( including a drink), I expected more from such a basic dish. At very least, I would expect to have a plate and a real fork when I eat "in" . People's Organic Cafe in the IDS Center is my go to spot for breakfast and lunch when I am in Minneapolis for work. I literally go there whenever I am in town. It's in the same building as my hotel, which is awesome. The service is always great, even when they are super busy at lunch. Super busy = standing in line for 15 mins to get to the register. I definitely appreciate the fact that they have someone taking your order in line via iPad. By the time I got to the register today, my food was ready! There are gluten free options, which is important to me. For breakfast, I'm a fan of the morning elixir and gluten free porridge with bananas. Yum! I've tried it with the apples and brown sugar, but the bananas are better. For lunch, the salmon in parchment is delicious. I'd definitely recommend it. I wanted soup today and decided to try the Peruvian Chicken Broth with gluten free bread. It wasn't super flavorful, but it was still very good. Also, I wasn't looking for chicken soup with a kick, so it fit the bill. I really like their gluten free bread. I have yet to try something at People's Organic that I did not like. If I lived in Minneapolis, I am not sure if I would go every day, since it is a tad bit pricey. Plus, I would normally make my own breakfast or lunch at home during the work week. But once a week? Definitely. However, it's my fave spot to go to for breakfast or lunch, while traveling to Minneapolis for work. In fact, I've been there 4 times this week so far. Ahhhh yes, something actually good for you that is quick, fairly priced, and skyway accessible! Move over Potbelly or random Asian restaurants! In all honesty, Peoples is a great spot in the IDS. Ideal for a quick lunch, whether takeout or sit down. I have had a few different menu items, but I recommend the Northern California wrap; large, fresh, and makes you feels somewhat healthy (big +). As others have said, it is a tad pricier than most quick options, but you really do get what you pay for. Obviously a quick lunch spot downtown isn't going to have amazing ambiance, but their service has always been fantastic. Friendly and quick; a perfect combination! Tip: sit down during the holiday season and listen to one of the bands/musical acts that play at the IDS during this time. A downtown Minneapolis lunch-time treasure! I've been looking for an alternative lunch spot during the work week that's filled yummy, local, natural/organic foods at a reasonable price. The quick service, fabulous food and friendly staff fit the bill perfect, especially during the winter months because it's skyway connected! It's like having my very own Common Roots Cafe or French Meadow Bakery in the skyway! On my last trip to Peoples I enjoyed a delicious "Farm to Table" veggie burger made with cashews, fresh vegetables, fresh herbs, organic chickpeas & organic brown rice with pickles, sprouts, organic romaine & sundried tomato aioli on an sprouted wheat bun. I opted for the fresh greens as the side, but they also offer chips or coleslaw as an alternative side! Hands down I love the sparkling, yes SPARKLING, water on tap! It's my go-to free drink. Other favorites on the lunch menu include the tilapia tacos and the northern California wrap. Lately I've started to make Peoples Organic Cafe a new coffee/tea spot to meet friends and co-workers during a break. Peoples has Tea Source teas and give you little vials to small the teas before you make a purchase! Expect prices to be higher than your normal Potbelly or Subway lunch, but that's because you are paying for quality food. I didn't know bacon had nitrates in it. Is that a nuclear substance? The tomato basil soup was pretty solid too. However, for a normal sandwich eater, the prices are high. $11 for a turkey sandwich isn't exactly IKEA meatballs. I was all set to despise this place and write a scathing review of a restaurant that is little more than an opportunity to eat twigs and granola with a bunch of dirty, self entitled, hemp wearing beatniks. However, I was blown away by the friendly service and amazing food. The people were friendly (it's possible that the friendliness I experienced was a direct result of cannabis and hash oil, but that doesn't really bother me). I had a hot ham and Gruyere on a croissant and it was phenomenal. The restaurant is a little pricey, but it's worth it. I highly recommend this place for lunch. read more
