I highly recommend this office. The optometrist is a legend is excellent care of his clients, patients and most importantly the eyes. The staff are there to help you. They are professional, highly knowledgeable, and they care about you and your eyes. I came here years ago and most recently returned. I love my new glasses and I love the new location. My annual exam and I decided to hit a place a bit closer to home. I felt Dr. Brosof was excellent. It wasn't a how quickly can we fit in an exam type of experience. He took the time to explain in basic terms, ask questions about my vision health, and in general make sure I got the script that worked best for me. They have a solid selection of frames and offer pretty much every contact brand you might be interested in. Prices are fair. Turnaround times reasonable. I'll be back for my next annual. read more

Excellent place to have a thorough eye exam with Dr. Brosof. He is excellent! I was long overdue for an eye exam and he took the time to explain everything that ultimately occurs with your vision as you get older. The selection of frames is not extensive but I found the frames I wanted immediately. I ordered one pair of glasses for driving and a second pair for reading. The business used to be in Ivy Ridge Shopping Center but they relocated to the storefront at the Vesta Building (Ridge and Parker Avenue). Highly recommended. I used to see an eye doctor who I loved, but then moved and had to find a new one. My goal was to find one very much like the doctor I had before. After a terrible experience at a different eye doctor that was recommended to me I was told about Pennsylvania Optometrics and figured I'd give it a try. It was a complete 180 from the terrible place, and exactly what I was looking for! Dr. Brosof is so great, and super helpful. Doesn't make you feel bad if you've been slacking in the appointment department, and also is nice to just converse with in general. He also taught me a lot about contact solution this last appointment that no one had ever told me before (and I've been wearing contacts for about 20 years). This most recent time I made an appt for my husband as well, and we had to bring our two little daughters. I was pleasantly surprised to see a little play area for the kids, which made the visit much more tolerable with two toddlers. My husband also was super happy with his experience, since he had also gone to the other eye place with me and felt the same as I did about how awful they were. The prices are reasonable, and even though I typically just get contacts I actually got a pair of glasses this time since it's been awhile. My husband also got his first pair of glasses ever, and the women at the front desk were so helpful with him while he picked them out (they were super helpful with me as well, but I'm a veteran at picking glasses at this point lol). Definitely will keep coming here, and am so grateful that I've found a place similar to where I've gone before. I highly recommend if you live in the Roxborough area. read more

Great doctors are hard to find, which is why when I find one, I'm loyal! I recommend them to friends and family, and will drive out of my way to stay with that doctor/office, even if there's another one closer. First of all, the staff is great. There are so many medical offices I've walked into where the staff working the front desk seem angry and give short replies, or treat you like you're bothering them. Not the case at all here. I am always greeted with a smile, and everyone I've encountered is friendly and helpful. When I first came to the office, I brought my only pair of (slightly old) glasses that I barely wore because they didn't fit correctly. I brought them solely because I've had eye doctors ask to look at current glasses when I was a new patient, and sure enough the office did take a look at them and read the prescription. However, they also offered to adjust them for free so I could wear them until my contacts came in. I thought this was really nice since I wasn't even buying new glasses on that visit, just contact lenses. The doctor I see here is Dr. Brosof, who is very personable. He also takes his time with your exam. He always checks my current pair of contacts and gives good tips on eye care. He gave me tips on storing my case during the day and on key words I should be looking for when selecting contact solution at the store. My latest encounter with this office was last month when I was coming home from a long layover during which United lost my checked bag. That bag had both my current pair of contacts (I wear glasses on the plane) and my backup pair since I always bring spares when traveling. I went to Pennsylvania Optometrics after a few days without any sign of my bag and explained the situation, asking if they had my prescription in stock so I could buy two new boxes. I was a little bummed because I was scheduled to come back in two months anyway for an exam, so I would have been able to get my yearly supply covered under insurance, but this lost bag issue threw a wrench in the plan. However, instead of having me purchase the boxes outright, they gave me a trial pair for free and wished me luck in getting my bag back. They were so sympathetic to my situation and really helped me out in a pinch. Awesome customer service. I'm glad I found a great eye doctor in the Philadelphia area and will definitely be sticking with them. read more

I generally don't participate in reviews but I wanted to take the time to say how pleased I am with the entire staff. Everyone was so helpful and patient and answered every one of my questions. This business takes Covid precautions seriously which made me feel comfortable as a customer which was truly appreciated. The office is very clean and there was a nice selection of glasses. My only recommendation would be to have a few more men's glasses that had metal frames but I was still able to find a pair that I really liked and can't wait for them to come in. read more

Tips: Call to make an appointment if you're looking to be seen the next day. The online scheduling system is not always accurate. I had a great experience with my first visit to Pennsylvania Optometrics last week. Dr. Brosof was very friendly and knowledgeable. Unlike some other condescending doctors I've encountered, he listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. Katie (optician) was very thorough when she guided me through the imaging apparatus. She was also extremely patient with me (I tried on half the glasses in the store and she ordered me more to try on). Thanks Katie!! I got some glasses here a couple of years back and not only was I sold some glasses that did not fit my face but I was treated as if it was my own fault. I have such poor vision that I can't see anything without my glasses on so trying on frames I had to trust the staff. When I came in for multiple attempts to get them to fit me correctly the staff became very rude. I will not go back and I do not recommend business. read more

The staff was friendly and curious and they even helped me decide on a style that fit my personality. More importantly a pair that compliments my already stunning face. lol. I'm glad I changed up my eye doctor beause PA optometics is closer to my home and also feels more professional than say, Pearl Vision. My doc was great and the staff was nice. My only hang up was how one of the staff members reacted to my bad vision. Yes, granted I have bad eyes, but you work at an optometry office. I felt shamed that I had poor! "OMG your eyes are so bad!" Duh, that's why I'm here. How would you feel if you went to a weight watchers and the staff there said, "OMG, you're so fat!!" not the same thing? Last time I was there to get eye glasses, they were having a 50% off frames sale. AWESOME! but since my eyes are so ungodly awful, my lenses alone cost about $200. So all together, my glasses are over $250. But they have a great selection and the staff who help you with the glasses are extremely cordial and helpful. read more

Finding glasses can be one of the most unfun things you have to do....but the staff at Pennsylvania Optometrics makes it a bit easier..... if you want designer glasses like chanel or kate spade, their selection is so so....but if you want some interesting specs that make a statement, then this is the place to go.....plus they are super super reasonable....i got a pair of adorable 1950's like glasses for $130 with the lenses....my friend got two pair for less than $300..... sure lens crafters gets you glasses in an hour or so....but this place only takes a few days and you will get way more compliments.... read more

Made an appointment online which was super convenient. Got there a little early and was seen right away. The staff is super helpful in selecting glasses. They're honest and let you know when a pair doesn't look quite right. They don't push sales which I appreciate. While there trying on glasses they were fixing and repairing glasses for people just stopping in. It's great they are able to do that on site and not send glasses out. Overall I really like this place. The service is on point, not crazy expensive and sometimes they have good sales on frames. read more

I stumbled upon this place after my vision insurance changed and my old optometrist no longer accepted it. I liked Dr. Brosef. He explained everything he was doing and went over contact eye care without it seeming like a lecture. The girl at the front desk was knowledgeable about my insurance, and she even mentioned special deals I had for certain frames. They have a decent selection, but I wish they had more designer frames. Regardless, I found nice frames I liked. I didn't feel pressured to buy the extra bells and whistles (which I never buy because I hardly wear glasses). Overall, as long as they keep taking my insurance, I'll go there. I made my appointment very quickly, and they were very flexible when I had to reschedule. Penn Optometrics is totally awesome. Dr. Brosof is the best. I had a super unusual eye problem that a few other optometrists failed to diagnose and was really struggling to see. Dr. Brosof quickly diagnosed the problem and I went on to get great care, and I now can see really well! Needless to say, I've been going back for years. Came here for my first ever pair of glasses after calling two other local places that were closed for vacation. Had a great experience. Staff was pretty helpful/friendly/receptive of my ignorance, as I've never worn glasses before so I needed a lot of explaining. A pretty good selection/variety of frames compared to where I got my actual eye exam done. I had my glasses within an hour and paid quite a bit less than I was expecting to.
