I hadn't had a cheesesteak in quite a while so thought I'd grab one. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was just meh. There was enough meat but just barely and I can't put my finger on why I was so underwhelmed. Maybe the steak wasn't seasoned enough? Not sure. Great hot subs! Decent prices. The fresh squeezed lemonade must be tried. The regular size sub portions are quite large.

If I could give negative stars, I would. We arrived right at 8:00pm and our ticket was stamped 8:06pm. We were first in line, no one else was even in the store yet but somehow everyone who came in after us got their food before we did. At 8:33, we finally got our order. One sub was supposed to be vegetarian, the other an Italian. Please tell me which one looks like it has meat in it because I had to dig just to find a single slice of salami. Both sandwiches were cold, and when they finally brought them out, the employees looked awkward, clearly realizing something had gone wrong. We ended up asking for a refund and leaving. We didn't even get a proper apology and the service was by far the worst we've ever had here. We've always loved Penn Station but after this experience, we won't be coming back. read more

It was my first time here. I stopped in on a Saturday lunchtime, and boy, oh boy, was I excited for what was to come! This shop rocked it out! Three young women were running this place lickity split! I ordered a mini Reuben with extra Thousand Island dressing on white with a snack-size fry to go. The sandwich came hot, sizzling off the grill, FILLED with deliciousness that nicely pleased the palette. But let me tell you, the hand-cut fries to die for! OMGOODNESS!!! And with malt vinegar...they are THE BEST fries I have ever had in my entire life! I'm talking better than the fries you get at the fair. These suckers CHEFS KISS! The restaurant itself is understated, with ample setting, clean, and a WONDERFUL staff! There is also plentiful parking out front! I will be back for those fries alone! read more

I just had their avocado Turkey sub! I got the meat warmed up and asked for all the toppings. Their pickles are amazing! The French fries are made to order fresh in-house. They make the lemonade fresh as well, you could see/hear them chopping up lemons the entire time. The inside is cool and the menu is huge on the wall as you walk to the cash register. They give a military discount! I got the lowest-calorie one just because that is how I am feeling but I can tell they have some other amazing sandwiches! read more

Penn Station is one of my favorite sandwich chains because they have hand cut fries and that fresh lemonade you can get at fairs in the summertime. Fries are one of my favorite food groups (haha) and theirs are delicious. What other sandwich chain has amazing fries? I always get emails from them to play these online games for a chance at a coupon, so I ended up with a buy one, get one coupon. My boyfriend and I headed to Penn Station to pick up lunch. This location is not convenient for us but it's the only location in the area since the 28th Street one closed awhile ago. It's only about 15 minutes away but a bit of a drive. They were only doing takeout and no dine in during COVID, so our fries got a little cold on the way home. That's ok, we just warmed them up in the toaster oven. I always get the Italian and my boyfriend always gets the cheesesteak, no pizza sauce. The PS Italian is one of the best versions of this sandwich that I've had. I particularly enjoy the inclusion of banana peppers without me having to add them on. The bread is also great at Penn Station - soft but a little bit of a chew, and it holds up well to the sandwich filling. They toast their sandwiches which automatically makes any sandwich at least 10% better in my opinion. I liked getting it to go because normally if you dine in, they bring the sandwich out in a basket and it's open with a lot of toppings. It's a mess to have to try to fold it up into a sandwich to eat. With the to go order, they closed them up and wrapped the sandwiches neatly in paper. Way less mess and still delicious. Both employees were masked up and social distancing inside was easy to maintain while we were there. I don't get Penn Station that often but when I want a tasty sandwich and some fries, it's the place I think of first. read more

Having recently seen commercials for this establishment with incredible looking food I decided to try two of their small subs. I ordered extra meat for both and it's a good thing I did did as both $8 sandwiches, even with the $2.20 extra meat charges were very light on the meat. If they actually added extra meat then the $8 base sandwich would likely be pretty devoid of it. First sandwich was their Turkey Bacon Ranch with 'thick cut smoked bacon'. The two small limp undercooked pieces of bacon were not thick cut at all, plus they forgot the ranch dressing. Major disappointment. Second sandwich was their Cheesesteak which was as good as the Turkey Bacon Ranch was bad, great crunchy exterior to the bread, plus the steak and onions were grilled to perfection. Only issue with this was the aforementioned lack of meat, particularly for something one paid an extra charge for extra meat on. Based on my experience today I don't know if I would patronize this establishment again. read more

Service is weak! Ordered meals for two online. I arrived on time. It took several minutes for them to even acknowledge me. When I was finally helped they moved our hot sandwiches from one counter to another and put our fries (bottom of the bucket) in the fryer, so I needed to wait longer while our hot sandwiches sat there. The fries were undercooked and we threw several away that were not cooked at all. For the money, I will choose other places in the future. read more

I usually love the food and get good service here, but today must have been an off day. For almost $40 for 2 subs, fries, and drinks, you should be able to expect better. After waiting for our order, I discover my sub was made wrong. I take it back to the cashier and tell her about the error. Even though she was the same person who took my order, she just stared blankly at me and says nothing. She then tears the order slip off my sub and walks toward the grill saying that she needs a remake. I return to my table, and a few minutes later, she walks out to my table to say that she has to take the first sub because her manager wants it. I didn't care, but it sure seems that they are much more worried about saving a wrong sub for the managers lunch or whatever, than taking care of a customer. After another 10 minutes or so, she yells my name to come pick up the new sub. At no point did anyone apologize for the error or for making me wait longer or anything- just poor customer service. read more

After the cook and manager argues in front of all the customers for 10 minutes I was given my sub not to go. When I asked for it to be placed in a to go bag she was very rude. The subs are pretty good here but they barely put any meat on it. The portion of meat are tiny. I have been three times to this location. One time i paid for extra meat because there is barely meat on the cheese steak. There are many bites that are just bread. When you pay for extra meat you don't get extra meat. read more

Tonight was my first time at Penn Station. As soon as I walked in I was a little confused as to where I should place my order. The young man behind the counter was very helpful with direction as to where I should start. After looking at the menu, there was a handwritten paper with the "Weekly Special" it was a sub, small fry, and a regular drink. I placed my order and went to pay and wait. Issue #1 Immediately the woman that was working the register had a horrible attitude. She had absolutely no desire to be there. Not once did she greet me, smile, nothing. After she gave me my change she set my cup on the counter and started to walk away. Issue #2 I said "I'm sorry, could I please have a lemonade?" (Lemonade is behind the counter) she looked at me so irritated. I handed her my cup and she took it placed it back on the pile of unused cups and got a yellow cup served my lemonade. When I placed my order I wasn't sure what time they closed so I said it would be to go. After seeing their hours I decided to stay and dine in. Issue #3 I said "You know, my intention was to take my order to go but I'd like to dine in." Her response was "okay?" "Okay?" I thought. Why is she so miserable??? The young man that was so helpful earlier is still making my meal. She never confirmed she would switch to dine in. I finally received meal. I asked the young man that gave me my order what the managers name was. He said "Her? Her name is Felicia" to my surprise this person that never greeted me, that had no desire to be there, was flat out rude issue #4 she was the MANAGER! Issue #5 as I sat in the dining room I overheard this manager telling her crewembers that I'd asked for a lemonade after getting a regular drink cup. Needless to say I will NEVER ever dine at this restaurant, ever. Penn Station has awesome food and even better prices but customer service is everything for me and this place really lacks. They should really consider who they have on their front line representing their company. I've worked in customer service over 15 years and I enjoy working with people. Everyone has been to a Penn Station, so I'll spare the details. This is the BEST Penn Station that I've ever eaten at. My Philly Steak was absolutely incredible. The staff was also incredibly friendly, from the guy taking my order, to the girl at the register, to the lady clearing the tables. Awesome spot for lunch. Also, probably the best lemonade that I've ever drank--reminds me of those lemonade shake-ups you get at the fair, but maybe a touch less sweet. read more

Went for lunch and ordered a cheesesteak with fries. When I see stacks of fresh potatoes being cut in house to make fries, I am torn. I thought they did a very good job with the cheesesteak. Toasting the roll was a great move. Freshly cut potatoes for french fries are just ok. It's a great idea, and I appreciate the fact that what the customer gets is ultimately fried cut potatoes and salt, rather than many of the ingredients you would be likely to see on some french fry ingredient statements. The problem is that potatoes that are cut and fried without an intermediate step are just ok. They are always a little soggy. If that's how you want them and like them, I'm all for it. I prefer crispy french fries. Good place. I would return but not sure if I would order fries. read more

YUMMY HOT SANDWICHES! I was born in the suburbs of Philadelphia and have had numerous REAL philly cheese steak sandwiches and I can't say these are super authentic... but they are still delicious regardless! FOOD: served HOT (YES!)... I'd say their quality of beef and cheeses is better than the usual cheese sauce that is served with a philly cheese steak sandwich. I appreciate the fact that they melt real cheese instead of some cheese sauce substitute. I'd say their philly cheesesteak sandwhich (the only sandwich I have tried there thus far) is almost a 'nicer' version of philly cheese. I enjoyed it a lot. The fries were decent as well. They are fresh cut with the skin on, not the skinless super crispy kind. I would have wished for their fries to be a little crispier but it wasn't bad. Their 'fresh squeezed lemonade' was disappointing though. It did not taste fresh squeezed and it was rather tart. It was okay and not horrible though, just different. SERVICE: fast and friendly PRICE: rather good... I got an 8 inch sandwich with small fries and lemonade for about $10. Subs are good but take forever. Only 2 people in place and took 35 minutes and for that price not worth me always being late for work.

First let me start by stating that the sub that I ordered was fantastic. The food took quite a while and the french fries weren't hot and were small and nubby. I happened to look over after I ate and seen really nice fries coming out of the fryer so at that time I decided to complain to Missy the manager on duty. She offered more fries but we weren't hungry and got defensive when I stated the fries we were served were not fresh and hot and didn't look like the ones they had in their fryer at that moment. She said I should have complained earlier and they would have done replaced them. I feel like they should have not served us the substandard fries to begin with and didn't like being blamed for their issue. I think that Missy the manager was not very customer oriented and didn't appreciate her being condensing toward me for something that I didn't cause. read more
