So not worth the 14$ I was charged for this!

Ordered a shrimp dinner to take home for my husband so he could eat it when he got home from work. 6 puny shrimp, a small handful of fries, a roll that equaled half of the entire dinner, and some cock sauce that equals almost an entire quarter of the takeout container. There was supposed to be coleslaw, but they forgot it. This is not the first time that this restaurant has disappointed us with its takeout, but it will be the last. 14$ for this joke. I had to go get more shrimp and coleslaw just so he could have a full meal. Find another restaurant if you want to get an entire meal instead of paying 14$ for a snack. I know we will be eating elsewhere.

Worst Takeout ever. I asked for crispy bacon. This couldnt be more soggy. It was supposed to come with pancakes. I got none. Not sure if I am ever going back to Russ'.

What a great place for a quick lunch that's not fast food. The menu is extensive and the food is very good. When we went the place was packed but the service was still quick and friendly. I enjoy Russ' when I visited Grand Rapids.

I was just in love with the environment. Didn't order off menu. Hit the salad bar and that can tell you a lot about a place. Everything was fresh and it came with a baked potato. The kind of place you can call a "go to". Back tonight for fish fry. Thanks!

Like others have said this is not a foodie place but if you want just simple good food at a reasonable price this is a great option. For me this brings back my inner kid going with my family in Holland and even having my first waitress job on the tele dining side. I miss the telephone ordering. The soup / salad bar is fresh and offers the basics plus bacon along with all their homemade soups. I love the chicken corn chowder which has some sweetness to it! I also have to recommend the croutons they are so delicious that we get a to go container of them (3.99). The soup and salad bar is about $10 a person, is unlimited, and includes unlimited baked potatoes. Pro tip - load the baked potatoes up at the salad bar and the server can heat it up a little afterwards if you need it. I ordered the olive burger for lunch today due to my schedule. Hopefully it is good reheated it looked yummy!

We stopped in on a weekday around 7 pm and there was plenty of open seating in the large bar area. Our server was pretty busy but very kind. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and Nate got the wet burrito. Our food did take a bit of time to come out, but when it arrived, everything was hot and fresh. The chicken parm was a huge portion and it came with an entire loaf of garlic bread, so I had plenty of leftovers. It was super saucy (which I liked) and cheesy. It was also really salty! I had several bites of Nate's burrito, which was flavorful and tasty (also very salty). Overall it was a good visit, the bar was large and clean, and I'm glad we got a chance to check it out.

Sandwich was tastey and the chicken cook perifctily. We sat at the bar and the service was good. The place had games on several TV's but not blasting sound so you could hear each other. Give them a try as they have a wide viarity of food items.

Now that they take reservations online and not just in person, it's so much easier to get a seat! Every time family or friends visit in town this is our first stop. The decor and ambiance is top tier and I wish there were more like it in GR! I highly recommend for a date night or nicer dinner out since it is a nicer place and the prices reflect that somewhat. My favorites are the whipped feta, wagyu sirloin, and the Daisy Du cocktail. For dessert, the bourbon apple crisp and chocolate mouse cake are incredible. I felt like had to try THE burger (BU butcher's beef blend, cheddar, caramelized onions, spicy pickles, creamy aioli, griddled brioche). This ate like a fancy Big Mac - and I mean that in the most complimentary way. So tasty! I, of course, had to add the hand cut fries. These were done VERY well. Also, they had a very SOLID spicy bloody mary. So why only 4 stars then? Welp, best burger in the state still goes to Ricewood (Friday & Saturday only!) - that smoked brisket burger is dang good. I'd come back to BU to try other items and enjoy their patio. Reservations can be made on OpenTable.

It was clean inside, bathrooms were freezing and the inside itself was small. The parking sucked and for handicapped people would not be good at all. They did have a ramp but no close handicap places so we had to walk across a very slippery parking lot. The parking was very limited. This alone would not be a reason for returning. The mushrooms were huge and lightly breaded. They were good but I would prefer the smaller size. Personal preference and again they were good. The Reuben sandwich was very good (husband had it) and up sized to fries which were also good. I had the pot roast sandwich with waffle chips. The sandwich was amazing (I added onions & gr peppers). The waffle fries were evidently the bottom of the bag because they were all small pieces which I couldn't even hold onto to dip in the French onion dip which I paid extra for. The wet burrito was very good (son in law had this). The pasta carbonara was not good (daughter had) and the garlic bread came with a large black hair across it. The employees were very apologetic and of course by the time she got her new pasta we were all done eating & freezing. It was her birthday meal so it was disappointing. They did comp her meal so there is that. All in all it was good not great and did I mention FREEZING? The server was very slow in coming around and we had to track her down to get our check. She was pleasant as were the other employees we came into contact with. Because of location & parking we will not return but the sandwiches would be worth it if it were not for that.

Bar seating is first come first served so I went right after work and got there about 4:45. There were a ton of seats open at the bar. A friend met me at 5pm. We were seated with Fin, the bartender. He was awesome- very attentive but not overbearing. I could tell when he was coming by to peek in on us but he never interrupted our conversation. He would glance over and check our drinks and pause, and then keep moving. I'm sure if I was alone he would've provided me with some banter, he seems nice enough. He recommended a cocktail - The Last Word. I've had one before and this one did not disappoint. The other drinks I had were the espresso martini and the New York sour- both favorites of mine and done very well by Fin. I love that this bar uses frosty glasses for their cocktails. It's a nice touch. I had to have the Wagyu meatballs. They're mentioned in many reviews and people at work agreed they're a must have. My friend wasn't very hungry so I ate 5 out of the 6 haha. The bread that comes w it is a focaccia that is his divine! I thought it was deep fried but it's just soaked in oil and then heated on the griddle. The meatballs are Wagyu 75/25 so kinda fatty but so smooth. They are served with a marinara sauce and ricotta. So good. Would get this again. The menu looks awesome but we were just there for drinks and snacks. Next time I'll make a reservation (Resy) and have dinner. Parking is typically awful. No valet. Bathrooms are multi sex unistalls, clean. The restaurant is noisy- maybe not a great first date spot. Seemed to be a lot of well to do people in the restaurant, based on the outfits and accessories I saw. Might be a place to meet someone new if it wasn't so loud and incredibly busy. It's hard to get a table during dinner hours especially if the weather is perfect. But try your best to get in. They do take walk ins and it's worth an hour wait.
