Peninsula Optometry - Optometrists Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

Lillian & Quinh are amazing. Best Eye care I have received for years. Love visiting this Optometry. Thank you for the Good Work.

Dr Truong got me laced up! I hadn't been to an eye specialist in nearly a decade and was long overdue for glasses. Not only did Dr Truong and team dial in the perfect prescription for me but also aided me in picking two amazing pairs of glasses. Understand, all this in less in an hour! Not to mention - although I was scared to try, Dr Truong and Sylvia convinced me to try contact lenses. They even took the time to teach me proper ways to put the lenses on and off; which took a HIGH level of patience on their end . With their care, skill and professionalism I'm seeing for what seems like my first time again! I can't speak higher of the Peninsula Optometry team! read more

Peninsula Optometry - Dr Truong - Optometrists Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

Do you have "Dry Eye" too? Dr. Lillian Truong diagnosed me as a new patient this year. I've had dry eye for over a decade and she was the first Eye Doctor to offer me a procedure to relieve it. For a $45 imaging charge she mapped my eyelid glands then for $95 performed a manual procedure to squeeze the hardened oils that were clogging my pores. Every night now instead of blinking my eyes and rubbing them because of lack of tears I now have tears again. If you have dry eye, your insurance may cover the procedure but if not this is the best $140 you can ever spend. Thank you Dr. Truong and Peninsula Optometry. read more

I couldn't be happier with them. Appointments are easy and the wait time is usually less than 10 minutes. They have a nice selection of glasses and sun glasses to choose from and the service is amazing. They make it so easy on billing through your insurance and the turnaround for prescription glasses is pretty quick. There is plenty of parking and some good eateries near by. My husband and I have been going here for many years and hope to for many to come. read more

It had been a few years since my last optometry appointment, so was a little nervous going back. The staff at this family-operated business were so friendly and kind. They walked me through my first time putting in/taking out contacts until I felt comfortable. High quality care, 100% recommend. read more

Love this family practice. Professional, knowledgeable and fun. Amazing selection. I had an emergency when I busted a blood vessel in my right eye and they stayed late to take care of me. read more

I really appreciated the extra care that their staff took both during the eye exam and while helping me pick out glasses! Everyone was very patient and friendly, and I didn't feel rushed to decide on a pair of glasses even though there were other customers she was juggling. The office itself feels very premium and also clean, which is of course especially important in this day and age. Highly recommended all in all! read more

Peninsula Optometry - The pair I landed on! Really brings out my blue eyes :) - Optometrists Near Me - Huntington Beach, California

My main complaint here is the prices charged at this business. I have excellent vision insurance but some how I ended up paying $250+ just for lenses. After my eye exam I went and purchased a pair of frames through another business for $90. For some reason took the frames back to this "used car sales man" of a business where they proceeded to try to sell me on the latest and greatest lenses. I said no to a lot of their advancements. It took ages to get through the details, all while trying to manage my two young children. I'm certain looking back on it now they were letting me sweat it out so that I would say yes to anything just to leave. Frustrated and confused I gave them my money and left. This included a "fee for insurance on my provided frames" - more like a penalty for not purchasing their overpriced frames. Upon returning to pick up my glasses they told me I still owed $25 for a lens co-pay that they initially over looked. I actually laughed, said some enlightening comments, paid ANOTHER fee, took my glasses and left never to return again. My friends! Do not get ripped off like I did. I took my husbands prescription, called Warby Parker, spoke on the phone to a member service representative for less than 20 minutes, paid $45, and received within a week a new pair of frames and lenses that are of excellent quality. read more

DR. Truong is an amazing doctor. She checked my eyes had the most patience to explain everything to me. One of the best examination I have ever had in my life. Keep in mind I always had a 20/20 vision. As I have a new position at work I'm more involved in the computer. Which makes my vision very blurry at night. She explain my eyes condition and gave me tips. Now I see perfectly at night! All her equipment is top of the line. Again thank you for the amazing experience, I would highly recommend this place. read more

I took my 3 and 4 year olds here and as we all know eye exams for little ones aren't the easiest but the optometrist was very nice and took her time with my little ones. My 4 year old had something that was embedded into his cornea and the optometrist was able to get it out after a couple tries. We were there for over an hour and she (the optometrist) was so patient with my little ones, this place is great. The front desk to the optometrist really made it an enjoyable visit read more

What a great optometry clinic!! I'm a family practice doctor and I always look for places to refer patients to. I had evaluation and treatment done by Dr. Lilian Truong and it was a wonderful experience. I have chronic dry eye and it's the first time I felt relief in a long time. Even with visits to ophthalmologists. She is very knowledgeable and truly compassionate. The practice is family owned and they seem like wonderful people. I highly recommend and will refer patients here for their eye care needs!! read more

Quick and friendly service. They were able to pull my insurance up quickly, schedule an appointment, and get our order for contacts in within a couple of days. This was after we just walked in. They offered us trial contacts to hold us over, and some sample solutions free of charge. My wife was out of contacts and back to glasses, so she was very happy. read more

Visited today and can't say enough good things about this little gem I found right down the street! Just walking in you can see right away the place is immaculate! The decor is very tasteful and inviting. Not that is the most important thing, but it matters. The most important thing of course is the doctor....which I cannot say enough good things about! Dr Lillian Truong is thorough, caring, and takes the time to really explain things, which is important to me. Every step of the way Dr Truong and her staff let you know what is going on and what you need to do. I mean really explaining, for instance, "ok take out your contacts right here at the sink , When you are done just have seat in the exam chair and I'll be right back and then we are going to do x" I can't tell you how many times I've been to doctor offices and no one tells you want to do, you just guess, and it's awkward and uncomfortable. Not here! Dr Truong clearly loves what she does and her staff is happy to be there and help in any way they can. I don't write reviews often, but when I have an experience like this, I have to because all businesses can use positive reviews and I want others to know about this place! Oh and literally no waiting, which is another bonus! read more

My husband and I have been with Dr. Troung for many, many years now. We think she and her staff are so wonderful!! I also think Dr. Troung Is very intelligent, she has and does explain all my of eye issues with me. (I have a lot of eye issues) She helps me understand by educating me with what is going on in my eyes. I never feel rushed and everyone is very helpful. I also love the selection of eye-glasses they have, so many up to date styles, I always get compliments from people about the looks of my eye-glasses. We couldn't be happier!! Thank you Dr. Troung and staff!! read more

I found my new optometrist. The staff and doctor were great. I was leaving for vacation in a week and was due for a eye exam. I had no more contacts left and was in desperate need of getting some more before I left. They come through for me and got me a new supply of contact before I left the country. I'll be back soon to get some glasses from them. read more

I had an awesome experience picking out my frames at Peninsula Optometry. The brand selection is huge and the associates let me take my time in picking out a pair. I'm extremely picky and they weren't at all bothered that I tried on about 40 different pairs. The prices are also very reasonable and I ended up going with a pair of Burberry frames. There was an issue with my insurance provider, but the associate called them and cleared it up within 5 minutes of identifying the problem. Just amazing service. Overall, I would definitely recommend them and will be back for my next eye exam. read more

Dr. Truong and her team were great! I came here for my regular eye exam as well as to get fitted for contacts, and Dr. Truong was extremely thorough and took time to educate me about my eye health and prescription. She answered all my questions and didn't rush me at all! The office staff was very helpful in assisting me in making a decision between a Ray-Ban or Penguin frame for daily use. I decided on the Penguin frames, which turned out great! Dr. Truong also sent me home with 3 different contact lens trials to ensure I had the best combination of comfort and visual clarity to choose from. When I finally settled on the lens I liked, the contacts came quickly and they gave me a bunch of extra cleaning solution as well! Overall, I would recommend Dr. Truong and her staff at Peninsula Optometry whole heartedly. They really take their time with you and make sure that you're educated about your prescription and your eye health. read more

I am a new patient and I have never had an eye exam before today. Here at Peninsula Optometry, the staff is friendly and professional. They recently implemented an iPad to input your patient info - no paper needed to fill out your patient info! I actually first learned about Dr. Truong through my boyfriend's eye appointment. The appointments run on time and I liked how she seamlessly directed the appointment so much that I booked one for myself to get my eyes checked out. Dr. Truong took great care of me - she explained every part of the eye exam and what to expect. When I learned I have astigmatism in my left eye, she promptly showed me an eye model to explain what is going on with my eye. She answers any questions or concerns you may have. The exam went smoothly and I was done in about 20 minutes. Definitely consider making your next eye appointment here! read more

If you are looking for an amazing optometrist and excellent customer service, I would highly recommend Peninsula Optometry. Dr. Truong is such an amazing optometrist! She is so thorough with her eye and contact lens exam and really took the time to educate me on how to maintain my contact lenses for maximum comfort and answer all my questions. She also recommended several different brands of contact lenses for me to try to ensure that my eyes feel comfortable and great at the end of the day. I also really like her approach on going with the lower correction in both eyes to minimize strain depending on your needs. Additionally, the staff at Peninsula are super helpful and have amazing customer service skills. They are very knowledgeable of the merchandise and will help you find a pair of frames that will fit your style and budget. read more

My boyfriend and I were at Huntington Beach when sadly at the beach the waves knocked his glasses clean off his face and left him with nothing to help him see for the rest of our trip we called and scheduled their next closest appointment which wasn't long at all and getting checked in took only a few minutes. The staff was all very nice and everything went so smoothly they were able to get him a pair on contacts on the spot and send us on our way fairly fast. Amazing! read more

Dr. Is great. The receptionist Kim...not so much. She gave me attitude when I refused to do the intake on the iPad. She asked me twice to take a seat because it would take long. I told her I prefer to fill out the paper form and she was reluctant. I filled in out in 2 seconds. I'm a lawyer and do paperwork for a living, I don't want to see the doctor and do the receptionists job. Sorry. Also I ask her to price match to Costco like 1800 contacts does. She says my box of dailies at Costco would cost $53 and if I would pay $55 instead. I ask why, she says because they it's at cost for them. I say no. She then asks someone in the back and they give me the Costco price. Weird. read more
