Best Asian food in the north shore. No fuss, no muss. Just fantastic flavors. When you look in the back kitchen is it hustle and bustle of a feverish activity blending together elegant and mystical flavors tantalizing even the most discriminating taste buds. Their food wasn't that great. I ordered Phat Thai and it had no chilies next to it. She asked how spicy and I said mild to no spice. Dish came out angry red, smelled terrible and the moment I took a bite my mouth was on fire. If no spice to mild is making me chock I would hate to know what their spicy food that has the chili next to is. They also made us pay for food that was inedible. Pass. The one stars are for the women who fought when I sent it back they were the best entertainment with watching them bangs and throw in a kitchen like a three year old. Cool better. read more

Tried this place on a whim. The food is amazing. We got beef and broccoli, which had tons of flavor and spice, and chicken lo mein. The lo mein is the BEST I have ever had. Very flavorful and not bland at all. The people there are extremely friendly and make you feel like family. The lady gave us extra fortune cookies, two almond cookies, and 8 donuts all for free. This restaurant is atrocious and the people who own it and run it are 100% low-grade slobs. My 68 year old sister who has terminal cancer was there a few weeks ago to get a take-out order. She handed the woman at the counter two twenty dollar bills on a $22.00 order. The woman shorted her nearly 18 dollars in change. She ONLY had 20 dollar bills in her wallet after just stopping at an ATM. My sister asked to speak to the manager/owner who denied the mistake. Later, my sister drove back to the restaurant to see if they had discovered the mistake so she could get the change she was owed. The employee who had made the mistake THREW THE MONEY into my very ill sister's face and said, "Here's your f---ing money, now get the f--k out of here!" The owner also said some extremely vicious and foul-mouthed things to my sister who is one of the finest, most decent, most HONEST people you could ever hope to meet. THIS is they way Peking Chef in Bayside, Wisconsin treats its customers. This story is 100% accurate. Please, think again before ever giving this restaurant a dime. Also, they are well-known for messing up orders. I was in there a few months before this happened to my sister and they had totally botched a woman's order. She had been waiting a long time. She stormed out of the restaurant. Trust me on this place, stay away. Plus, the food is not good at all, as I came to find out after sampling my order. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants I have ever been too. They have a wide variety of foods from Thai to Vietnamese but they are all delicious. It is not a fancy place but more of a family restaurant with a couple of tables. The staff is amazing and friendly and are always smiling and very kind to their customers. I'm not around this area often, but whenever I am, I always stop by here because it is one of my favorites! I would recommend the beef in garlic sauce for a lunch special but any curry is delicious as well. read more

Peking Chef has so many dishes to try, but it may take us a while to try them because we have our favorites. Tofu with Baby Bok Choy and Mushrooms and the Vegetable Curry are staples for us. There always seems to be an extra treat included in the bag, too. I have had delivery many times and today was told I needed to spend 20 for delivery , I didn't reach that and she was not nice was told it would take almost 2 hours . The beef in our delivery order looked like it was cooked once before and reheated or laid around for a while. It had no texture and broke apart like a paste. There was no flavor to the dish at all. I asked for a refund and they refused to give any. We will never order there again. read more

Excellent - ordered for pick up...food was very tasty, I had the Pad Thai with chicken. Could have been a little spicier as I asked for hot, but the flavors were great. Generous portions, enough for two people. They even threw in, for no charge, some sugar donuts - which were really good. I will definitely be back again. This is a newer, smaller restaurant replacing the long-standing Peking Palace. They have more variety than many Chinese restaurants. Indonesian and curry dishes are quite varied. I love the twice-cooked pork, while my wife likes the curries. Their Crab Rangoon is the best we have had. They use actual crab, and both the cream sauce and wrapper are very fresh. Not a fancy place, but the people there make it very enjoyable. read more

Really solid Chinese and Indonesian food here. The ownership and management need to take lessons in how to treat customers though. I've never been so angered by being treated rudely by a restaurant owner. Be prepared! When you call because they screwed up your order they say, "We don't want your business anyway." Something is incredibly wrong here. Plenty of other places to go so no worries. I'm 49 years old and I took my mother to Peking Chef on a Saturday afternoon. We arrived at 4:50pm and the place was empty. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress who proceeded to tell us they have the best Indonesian food and the owners are from Indonesia. My mom ordered the Bali Beef with medium spice and I ordered the Singapore Rice Noodles which comes with chicken and shrimp with medium spice. Our orders were made fresh and brought to our table in about 10 minutes. In the meantime other customers started to flow in and we enjoyed our beverages. The dishes were served hot with a side of white rice and almost like family style which was nice as we could share. Both dishes were excellent with enough heat to be enjoyable and spicy without being over the top. We really loved both dishes. The portions were big and we knew right away we wouldn't be able to finish them. When it was time to go we asked for boxes and our waitress asked if we'd like more rice to take home. How thoughtful, and we did! When the check came we not only got the traditional fortune cookie, but also 4 small sugar coated donuts that were made fresh and still hot. We couldn't have been happier with our experience and definitely recommend Peking Chef. I know I'll be back! Bon Appétit! read more
