We have been long time fans of Pei Wei in Brier Creek since we moved to NC 11 years ago. We don't live close, an 90 minutes away, but we make the drive. Whenever we are in the area we go there. This particular occasion I had an appointment in Durham, 25 minutes away. I ordered via app at 10:30 am, 11 am pick up. made the drive expecting pick up order. It was 11:00 am and the young lady said there will be delay, "corporate orders", it would be 10 minutes. 20 minutes later and Door Dash people picking up orders. Why give pick up time when not even prepared ? We are getting a Pei Wei here in Fayetteville, I hope the service is better, maybe. Oh, btw, food was very good. read more

First time visiting this restaurant and now it's one of my favorites. Food came out fast and fresh and was so good... my husband and I ate off each others to get a mixture. We got the firecracker chicken and shrimp with fried rice and grilled bourbon chicken with fried rice. Both were very flavorful and plenty of meat. The lady at the cash register was working her butt off, she was very pleasant and running around taking orders, getting to go orders together and bringing the food to the tables. She was such a hard workers with a smile on her face the whole time. They had plenty of seating as they have indoor and outdoor seating areas. We had 3 different kinds of chicken- the sesame had good flavor- The orange chicken had a little flavor and the kung pow had no flavor I also added in their fire cracker shrimp- not worth it- soft with no flavor. Stopped in for a quick lunch while out holiday shopping and had a great experience! Every one of the staff members had a smile on and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I ordered the Mongolian steak and it was absolutely cooked to perfection and the sauce was perfect! Despite there being quite a few customers coming through, staff kept the space clean and tables were flipped quickly. I have had bad restaurant experiences before, but this is the first time I actually felt cheated out of my money. I've had decent experiences at different Pei Wei locations over the years, but for some reason, this was one of the worst food experiences I've ever had. The rice was undercooked and dried out, and all the dishes tasted like old oil and slightly burnt (orange chicken and Mongolian beef). Even the crab Rangoon did not taste good and it's hard to find crab Rangoon that I don't like yet this location managed it. I usually give restaurants another chance after a subpar experience, but definitely not this time. I'm not risking another $45 down the drain. read more

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. We were the only ones in there at around 12:30. Hubby had General Tso's chicken and I had chicken pad Thai. The food was made fresh and it was really good !!! The price was not outrageous. We also had spring rolls. I didn't love them. They had a strong basil flavor which I found kinda odd. As others had commented, some of the employees didn't seem to really want to be there. That's the world we live in now. Good help is hard to find. OMG - I ordered Sesame Crispy Tofu, and it had a hefty price tag. The tofu and was soggy, the vegetables over cooked, but the worst part of it was that it was sugary sweet, the sauce was like thick candy syrup! Absolutely inedible. I tried to eat it because I paid so much for it, and what I managed to eat it hit my stomach like a ton of bricks. I was so happy when I saw they had tofu, but I can't order from there again. But the food was really good, being I like spicy I wish the Kung Pao chicken was spicy like I'm used to it being but overall it was really good. Didn't have the best experience. I took my girlfriend out for lunch as she was back visiting from college. When we arrived, we were kindly greeted by the woman at the front who took our order. I ordered for myself and my girlfriend. I ordered the chicken and broccoli and my girlfriend got the Mongolian beef. The food came out quick and we were excited to dig in. The food was okay. Not a whole lot of flavor, but I've had worse. That's when things started going downhill. Across from us was a younger man with what appeared to be his grandfather. Everything seemed fine until an Asian couple sat next to them. They were clearly foreign and spoke their native language. This seemed to set off the older man who began to yell and throw things. He kept saying that the trees were talking and to watch out for landmines, then hid under the table asking where "Private Mitchell" was. His grandson explained that he was a Vietnam veteran who suffers with PTSD. The manager came out to address the situation, who was also Asian, which made it worse. The old man tried to attack the manager with a plastic knife and the cops came shortly after and escorted the man. Overall, probably won't be back. read more

So, I have to take away a star. We did an online order and selected curbside. Put in the details of our car and submitted - Order Recieved ! We set the time for 12:30pm and arrived on time. Text the number provided once you arrived. And then we waited...and waited... There wasn't that many people at this time and I kept seeing people getting out of their car parked in the curbside parking. I realized then, no one was coming. I went into the restaurant and there sat my food. Just like in other reviews - why offer it when you don't actually provide it? Why have me text a "ghost number? Please remove this as an option or speak to the staff. There are various reasons people use curbside, if we know it's not truly curbside - then we can make a better decision about how we would like to order or go to a different restaurant. read more

The service is very rude and unpleasant. The people giving the food were not amiable to separating the rice from the other food despite explanation that my family member is diabetic. They said it would cost extra to separate it. I typically do not give negative reviews. I have seen many of the other reviews that say they have had bad service or the food was not good, or the Dan Dan noodles did not have a pork option. A friend told us about Pei Wei 10-12 years ago and it is one of our favorite places to eat period! We always get the Dan Dan noodles (which has always been offered with chicken or beef) and Lo Mein, with rice and we share the two dishes. We are not close to any Pei Wei (about 50 minutes to Raleigh) but anytime we are going to Raleigh we make it a point to stop and eat, plus order extra for take out & an additional treat over the next few days. The first Pei Wei we ever went to was @ Cary Towne Center (as it was the closest before the one in Apex) but both closed down several years ago unfortunately. We have to drive an extra 30 minutes to get to the one near the airport @ Little Brier Creek and we do it because we love the food. We have never had bad service at any of the Pei Wei's we have visited from the ones in Charlotte, Cary, Apex or Raleigh and the food is always great. The only small complaint I have during all my years going to Pei Wei is that up until 4-5 years ago when you ordered chicken with your Dan Dan noodles or Lo Mein, and upgraded to white meat, you actually received real white meat chicken instead of what they serve now which is a chewy rubbery more fatty something that is not real white meat chicken. If you ordered "chicken" (for as long as we have been going) you get some chicken parts & pieces with some fat & skin still mixed, in which I was never a fan of, thus the reason for the upgrade to white meat. I am sure some Corporate suits thought it would be a way to cut costs and increase profits but I tried it twice thinking it may have been a one off deal the first time but it was not. Even with that said we still love Pei Wei but I do not order the chicken (of any kind) with our dishes. Maybe I should try again since it has been many years of ordering it with "white meat", we'll see. One last thing & just a FYI, even if you order the beef do not expect filet mignon. read more

For the price point and made to order Chinese American food, it's not a bad option. Especially if you're on the run and don't have the patience to wait for traditional Chinese takeout. It's a simple menu. The portions are good for the price and quality. This particular location is nice and well maintained. The rewards program is nice and adds up quick. Where to begin - this location is a disaster from the get-go. The young man ringing up customers is slow to ring up/hear customers/perform any functions. Glacially slow. He's polite but so slowwwww. Tables were dirty and weren't being cleaned off. We found a halfway decent spot and waited for our food. One of the two drink machines was out of nearly every soda, napkin supply was almost empty and there were few forks for diners. Our lettuce wraps arrived and they were delicious. We had to flag an employee down to get us two small plates as the wraps are messy. They were the ONLY redeeming part of the experience. My meal arrived promptly and I waited for my husband's sushi to arrive...and waited. Finally, one of his two sushi orders arrived, it was not good. As he said, it's like grocery store sushi. My meal (teriyaki steak and shrimp) just was not good. Mostly rice and veg with three pieces of steak and about six shrimp. Didn't eat much and took it to go. Promptly tossed it when got home as nobody wanted it. We kept waiting for my husband's crunchy sushi rolls to arrive and they didn't. Flagged down the same server and asked if he knew where our order was - he asked the chefs and they didn't know. Server asked for our receipt for proof we bought the sushi - pretty insulting. I didn't realize we would be treated like crooks. We showed proof and finally our sushi arrived. I asked server if we could get a refund for the wait and the screw up and he waffled and said, "Well, if you want me to get the manager...". My husband was aggravated and said, "Forget it." Absolutely lousy experience, lackluster food, dirty environment, and didn't appreciate the questioning our food purchase. The lack of concern by the server wasn't appreciated, either. Most restaurants with good customer service wouldn't object to refunding a portion of a lousy meal - especially due to screw ups and long wait time. Save yourself the time, money and effort and skip this location! A huge waste of $30+! read more

All the outside tables still had plates and stuff on them from previous customers, the plates and chopsticks were gone from the soda fountain area and there was water all over the floor there. Many of the tables were not cleared off inside as well. It could be there was a big rush right before or they were short staffed for a Saturday night. Due to the above, service was slower than usual but the food was still on par. The new General Tso's Chicken and Thai Mango Chicken were very tasty and definitely had more heat than the other items on the menu labeled as spicy. I'd say that being what looks to be an off night for them, I'd still recommend them for the food. And they took off the Caramel Chicken and Thai Lettuce Wrap from the menu :-( read more

Stay away from this place! I went there for lunch today (7/16), ordered my food and was about to pay at the register when I asked for an ice water. The young cashier refused to give me ice water. She said they don't do that, that I'd have to get a soda or a bottled water. Seriously? I'm a customer and I have a right to an ice water. I should've left the food there, not paid, and walked away, but I was hungry so I paid for it, sans a beverage of course, telling the cashier this was not fair to a customer. She could care less. I ate my lunch, which was horrible. The alleged Mongolian Steak was poor quality meat, and it was scant and swimming in sauce. I polled Charley's Cheesesteak and another Asian place at the food court about ice water, asking if they give it to a customer. Both said of course they do. They said water is free! The guy at Charley's asked if I would like a glass of ice water. I told him that I had just eaten at Pei Wei but they refused to give me water. He took out a large paper cup and filled it with ice water for me. Pei Wei will never have my business again. They don't deserve anyone's business. read more

We really like the pad Thai from here! I get the chicken pad Thai and my husband either gets it with just tofu or sometimes with veggies. He usually asks for his to be spicy! It has really good flavor, even compared to some nicer, upscale non fast food type restaurants in the area. Pad Thai portions are a good size. I usually have enough for 2 meals! I wish we had one of these a bit closer to us in South Durham. We regularly eat here or grab takeout if we are out in the Brier Creek area. They have one of the soda machines that has a lot of the special selections. Dining in is usually good, although we had one visit where they forgot my husband's meal... Flavorful food, reasonable prices, large portions, and easy online ordering! I ordered online on a Friday night for pick up. It was easy to navigate the menu, use coupons, and place my order. I would prefer if it listed the protein options available for each menu item before having to click on it to purchase. However, the options, ingredients, and prices were clear and the menu items were fairly customizable. When I arrived, my order was ready and accurate. An employee (Amanda?) was present when I arrived and immediately helped me pick up my order. Overall, we had a great experience and enjoyed each of the items we ordered (miso side salad, chicken salad roll, tofu pad Thai, and chicken fried rice). read more
