    korean fried chicken

Came here for lunch and it was very solid overall. The bento box was a really good deal for the lunch special, with big pieces of sashimi and good portion sizes. The gyoza were tasty, and the KFC (Korean fried chicken) was surprisingly good - crispy and flavorful. The poke was alright - not my favorite since it had a bit too much sriracha. The wasabi was legit though and had a real, sharp kick. The interior is pretty spacious and they have a lot of seating inside but the tables have a decent amount of space between them so you don't feel like you're sitting next to everyone else in the restaurant. Staff are also very nice.

Nice place. Very clean. Server was very helpful. Why wife and I had lunch boxes: spicy salmon and bulgogi. Excellent presentation and well worth the price. Sushi was great too. Will definitely come back.

I hang out with a group of folks who like to try out different restaurants every few weeks. They suggested this place, and it's sushi - of course I'm gonna go! It's in a newer shopping center, and the place is very nicely appointed inside and out. The dining area is mostly screened from view when you arrive, which is nice to avoid distraction, but frustrating when you are trying to find your party. Once seated and presented with a menu, I thought things would be OK, but none of the rolls listed had any familiarity. There was no Rainbow roll, dragon roll, etc. They are all given new names and new combinations. After some discussion with the waitress, I was able to make a selection for something that would be along my preferences, but until it arrived I had no idea whether it would or not. Thankfully, it did. The flavors were good, though the sauces weren't as deeply nuanced as the traditional flavors of the sushi bars I have been to. It was good, but quite different. Others in the group had other options, which were all well received. We will probably revisit this place in a few months, and I'll try to update this review, but for now, I'd just make sure you know what your desired flavors are and how to communicate them to the waitstaff, because you won't find your words on the current menu. It's still good, and worth the trip.

When we were in North Carolina, we made our expectations lower so we wouldn't be disappointed but this place far exceeded them. The food was amazing, the cuts were thick and were very fresh. The service was great and we got our food fast. The space was very clean and inviting. Would definitely come back!!

My brother was in town and he loves sushi! We ordered a few different rolls for takeout! Everthing was nicely labeled. Their menu had a lot of different rolls than I have seen at other places. My favorites were the T&T roll and the spicy tuna rice bites. Definitely will eat here again! Next time as an eat in guest!

I was very pleasantly surprised by my visit! It's hidden away in the HT shopping plaza near Brier creek. It was cute inside, not fancy but causal feeling with the open space concept. It was pretty cold inside, but fine with a jacket! The food was very delicious and service was great. The bulgogi burger surprised me, it isn't like a regular burger but pieces of meat in a bun. The flavor was very good of the meat and my partner loved it! I prefer that kind of dish with rice but it was fun to try. The sushi roll was so delicious and so were the dumplings. I got mackerel to test out their nigiri and I loved it so ordered the sampler but didn't enjoy that as much as they put an incredible amount of wasabi under the fish, that was all I could taste. Clean inside and nice playing. I would come back and bring others.

first time visiting suyu and the food did not disappoint! we came on a week day and it wasn't that busy so we were seated quickly. the environment is that of an upscale sushi restaurant with reasonable prices. the food was delicious. you really can't go wrong with anything in the menu. we highly recommend the tuna nachos or the gochujang yellow tail for appetizer. we ordered several rolls but our favorite was the veggie roll and the gillty pleasure roll. staff were super friendly and quick to assist us. would definitely come back again in the future.

Sushi Suyu was number 1 on the list of Sushi restaurants on Yelp and that's why we chose it. It is very lovely inside, well designed, interesting and intimate without feeling crowded. We had four delicious rolls that two of us shared, it came to our table quickly and was beautiful. We ate every bite, every grain of rice. Our server was fantastic, efficient and not hovering. It was a fantastic experience!

We love Sushi Suyu's Apex location and were super excited to hear that a closer location in Raleigh opened up! This location offers a comfortable and spacious environment for dining. They have bar seating and tables. The service was excellent - our server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and all the food came out so fast. Most importantly, the sushi itself was incredibly delicious. The rolls were expertly prepared with a great balance of flavors and all the appetizers were so creative and yummy. I highly recommend the Mul-Hwae for an authentic Korean taste.

Tasty tofu but not tempura, as listed on the menu

Nice atmosphere, mediocre to bad sushi. My five year old makes more presentable rolls. Mushy rice, bland and expensive miso soup. Tofu app was tasty, but it was listed as tempura but it was definitely not tempura.

Not sure if that's good or bad news for me lol because Kazu is about 40 minutes from my house. Service was polite and attentive as I expected. Restaurant was clean but is limited on seating, just fyi. Hibachi is cooked fresh to order and my fave thing is that the veggies aren't over cooked and mushy. They still have a crisp to them. Thai tea was excellent too. Didn't taste like a premix (if it is).

I was told to sit wherever I wanted, and since they weren't busy due to the off-time, I chose a booth. Ordered the chicken and scallops combo, plus green tea and water. Tea and water were served in styrofoam. Not a fave of mine. But when the delicious food appeared, I forgave them. Especially since it was on a real plate. I had to ask for ginger sauce, but the yum yum sauce had already been put on the table in a squeeze bottle. Everything was perfectly cooked, plentiful and yummy. I would probably not order the scallops again because the flavor and texture were more fish-like than scallop like. Loved the chicken and all the veggies. Fried rice was good as well. Didn't have anything added to it, but it didn't need to. Even though I ate a lot, I still took home enough for another delicious meal. Would definitely go back, especially considering how inexpensive it was.

But the takeout orders were coming in all evening. It was my first time at the restaurant as I was not aware of it before. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, but closes in between. The shopping center has plenty of free parking. The menus are extensive: one is dedicated to sushi, and the other features Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Singaporean dishes. You can mix and match the dishes if you want. The prices seemed reasonable for the amount and quality of food. We were a group of six, and they put a few tables together so that we could sit together. We had plenty of room and weren't squished together. The dining room wasn't loud, so we could actually hear each other and have conversations. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The owner was also going around to all the tables to make sure we were happy with our meals. I went with the Hibachi Samurai, and I could choose soup or salad and white or fried rice. I did the miso soup and white rice. The zucchini, mushrooms and onions were mixed with the chicken, steak and shrimp. I really enjoyed my meal and the flavors. I will be a repeat customer now that I have discovered Chai Asian Bistro.

My wife and I booked a reservation for 5:30 PM, and the booking system was a little strange. First, you have to wait for the restaurant to confirm your reservation, so you're basically just submitting a request. Also, there's an "Assignments" selection in the reservation form which has a possible value of 1, 2, or 3. No idea what it means so I left it blank. Then, the next day, we received a curt text telling us that our reservation was confirmed and that they would only hold our table for 5 minutes. I mean, geez, I get it, but how hard is it to say "Thank you for dining with us!" or something to that effect? Not a huge deal, obviously, but kind of funny :) Our server did a pretty good job throughout the meal. The food was prepared quickly and it was very good! My two sushi rolls were very tasty, and my wife's sashimi was definitely fresh. Because we ate there in the late afternoon, there were also some happy hour specials that I appreciated ($13 for any specialty roll, and $6 for certain beers). The beer selection wasn't bad at all, and of course they had sake as well. Overall, we had a really good time at Sushi Suyu and would definitely come back!
