We had a late breakfast here today. The place was pretty busy but we were greeted and seated immediately. Our server, Jaden (sp?) was awesome. Very friendly, quick, thorough and checked on us often. The food was spot on. Ambience was nice. We chose to sit inside but they have some great outside seating as well. There was a pre marriage group there and they sang "Chapel of Love l" to the bride and groom..and it was good! Someone there has an awesome voice. In town for a wedding and we needed breakfast! Saw this place was near hotel so we went on over. Lines to get in with 30 minute wait, sadly we didn't have time. As we were ready to leave, the nice hostess recommended we get it to go! Genius!! We were able to order and take with us. Very tasty eggs and hash browns. Husband got a breakfast burrito that was nicely grilled and sliced in half making it much easier to enjoy. The food was so yummy that we went back the next day and got the exact same thing!! Breakfast food is always good, and if we are honest, difficult to mess up. But what makes Peggs different is their incredible staff. Very nice, friendly, helpful. I really wanted to like this place, as I am always looking to support local businesses. But I'm sorry to report the breakfast my family and I just had here was pretty darn awful. The Americano coffee my husband ordered tasted like burnt hair and the latte I got honestly tasted just plain off (I wonder if the milk was bad?). I asked my hubs to try in case I was being overly sensitive and he agreed, it tasted faintly of vomit. Poached eggs were rubbery and undercooked. "Okay, okay, poached eggs can be tricky," I said to myself. "Nothing a little buttered sourdough toast can't fix." Except when you realize that the toast isn't bread, it's a styrofoam product, and the "butter" is margarine? low fat? unsalted? BAD. Even my 5 year-old son when asking for a piece of my toast (which I happily passed on to him) spit it out and said, "this is gross!" i had breakfast here recently as i always try to find the local place. once i found peggs, i was super impressed. the first thing i spotted on the menu was fresh squeezed orange juice. not many places offer this so i had to try and it was sensational. i also love omelettes, so had to choose a build your own omelette and it to was fabulous. i i would absolutely come back to peggs anytime i'm in the area is this is one of the best breakfast locations i have found it and south bend. give it a try. read more

I joined some friends who are Notre Dame alumni a couple weekends ago to watch the annual slaughter that is Navy Football's visit to play the Fighting Irish. PEGGS was the perfect breakfast spot before the game. Although we traveled out from California, I grew up in Maryland, so I had to try the Maryland Blue Crab Benedict. My silence and slight growl meant the dish was excellent, tasting like I was dining in Annapolis again. Compliments on the Nutty Irish coffee, too! Thanks to Peg for coming out to greet our table and welcome us to town. Just want to share my experience. The food was not bad. But most of the cutlery/glasses smelled like egg. I took a sip of water and it smelled disgusting. I am working if it is part of the "pEGGs" eggxperience but I would definitely ask the restaurant manager to turn up their standards. read more

Food, ambiance, and service are all top notch. Everyone is pleasant and the orders are always correct.

This was my first time to come to Peggs after it changed its name (from Le Peep to Peggs), and to be honest, I was not impressed by it. My friend and I tried the restaurant menu of $22 for 2. It has four choices and they were actually not that cheap compared to the original price, maybe only 1 or 2 dollars cheaper. So I would recommend you to keep doing your regular order from the menu unless you wanna try the items on the restaurant week menu. I had the chorizo Benedict which was okay, but my friend said that her Peggs signature plate was not that good. The server was really polite, however the front desk lady was kind of indifferent to us. The waiting time for Sunday brunch at around 11 or 12 is about 20 minutes. Street parking or garage parking is available. We were both not impressed by it, especially now more and more brunch places are open in south bend area. We hope Peggs could provide us better experience next time when we dine in here. read more

Went for brunch on a Saturday around 11. Had to wait about 30 mins for table for 2. Ended up being seated at table for 6 with another couple at other end. Felt a little odd, especially in a COVID world, prior to restrictions being lifted. Food was very good. I got the California Eggs Benedict with fruit salad (as pictured) and it was delicious. Split smaller order of cinnamon rolls and it was more than enough for the two of us. So fresh and delicious. read more

I ordered the avocado toast with scrambled eggs and received an avocado toast with a chopped up omelet and a runny yolk under the omelet from where someone placed a runny egg before they tried correcting their mistake with the chopped omelet. The waiter was very kind and noticed the issues with my order. I was given the correct order 10-15 minutes, however the food was still bland and nothing special to do much to Improve the review. We are from out of town and needed a central meeting location for family get together. Wanted to go somewhere with breakfast and lunch so this place looked great. We got here and we're immediately greeted with super friendly staff. The owner accommodated our really big party during a busy time of day. She was super super friendly. She came around to see how we were doing and we ended up striking up a conversation with her. Turns out she knows some people I went to school with in the town I live in. Small world! The waitress that was helping us was super friendly as well. The food came out fantastic. Best chicken and waffles I have had for sure! My husband and I decided to get breakfast before the Notre Dame vs UNLV game. We were worried there would be a long wait since i've hear how popular PEGGS is. Luckily I put my name in a couple of days before for a reservation/wait list. The staff were super friendly and did not rush when we were eating. I highly recommend splitting a meal together and getting some sides together. The coffee bar was also fantastic and my husband kept taking sips of my cappuccino. Highly recommend! read more

We've been here twice, and Peggs has quickly become our go-to for brunch in South Bend. Both times the waitresses have been very accommodating when asking about substitutions or additions. We've ordered the California Benedict, the French toast, and the short stack of pancakes. The food comes out very quickly, especially considering the quality. The California Benedict is very good--the eggs are poached well with the avocado and bacon working perfectly together. The pancakes were huge (which can be expected from a casual diner spot) and delicious. My one problem is with the French toast. The first time we ordered it, it was cooked well and all the way through, and the pieces were a good size. The second time we ordered it, the French toast seemed smaller and it wasn't cooked through all the way. My only problem is that it often seems like we're rushed through to our table and to order. On game day weekends I can understand this, but when it's a quiet Wednesday morning, there aren't any people waiting, and there are open tables, I find it hard to justify the rush. Oddly enough we also had trouble getting our waitress to come back to the table after we added a cup of coffee to go with our order. Overall, we will definitely come back here again. The space is much cleaner and more open than most fast-casual diner spaces, and the food is very good for the price. read more

Oh my what a happy find. Wishing there were more than 5-stars to award this wonderful establishment. Location is right downtown, easy to get to. Place is cool, hip and a bit hippy.
