Other than the deck, there's nothing exceptional about this place. And a deck isn't really exceptional, is it? I guess if you have only ever eaten pizza in Eugene, you might feel like this is the best in town. Or maybe you just like the pinball... or maybe the place is wrapped up for you in some nostalgic wacky-zone in your brain with other various college shenanigans. But I'm going to guess that most of us have been somewhere that has actual good pizza, instead of best-you-can-get-pizza. Don't get me wrong -- it's not bad. Just painfully, shamefully average. And I prefer the New York style anyhow, while I see this place as synonymous with big chunks of toppings and thick crust. It's a little overpriced for what it is, but don't worry about that. Okay, I still haven't actually had the pizza here since being back in Eugene, but I have played pinball here twice. They currently have two games: Shrek and World Cup Soccer '94. These are both fun games, and are in good condition. It's 50 cents a play on both machines. Shrek has one piece missing as far as I can tell, not an integral piece but I think it may be the donkey because there is an empty rod near to the entrance of Donkey Pinball. The right flipper is a little soft and not quite as responsive as it should be. Other than those two things however, this game is in good working order. I always like games with mini pinball, so Donkey Pinball is awesome. The replay isn't set too high and my husband popped the game the second time we played. My husband wouldn't play World Cup Soccer with me, he said it was boring because he played it so much growing up. I however, quite enjoyed it. I haven't played World Cup Soccer before but I popped the game my first play. This is honestly probably why I liked this machine so much. It's only the 3rd game I've ever popped. The game is in great working condition, no problems that I found. Add to these two great pins a good selection of beers on tap and several temporary tattoo machines with a good array of tats and I give Pegasus 4 stars without even trying the pizza! UPDATE: The pins have been switched out. They are now Lord of the Rings (this game doesn't have a real plunger and I'm not going to bother to play it) and Fish Tales a 1992 game from Williams. I really enjoy Fish Tales but it is a very fast paced game. This may be because the deck is on a steeper slant than other games or it could be that the dead center placement of the boat means that a lot of shots ricochet back fast. The game does seem to be in very good working order though, and I enjoy the animated fish topper which by far predates that singing fish that was so popular a few years ago. read more

Poor, poor Eugene... you just don't know any better do you? Well, let me tell you: in the outside world there are pizza parlours galore, with acceptably priced pies and drinks. There are a wide variety of establishments that offer all sorts of types of pizza: gourmet, greasy, cheap, NY style, vegan, classic Italian... And you, Eugene, are lacking. I know this may come as a shock, but it is the truth and I feel sorry for you. In a perfect world Pegas Pizza would be at least $3 cheaper, and you would offer more drink specials. But I know that you are set on charging a lot for your pizza in general, Eugene, so we will just have to suck it up wont we? The pizza here is good. I really like it - something I can see myself craving in the near future. But it really is a shame how much they charge for your average pizza parlour food. read more

Hit this place with my new roommate and his girlfriend. Fun college pizza joint supplying beer, pizza, and a nice sports centered atmosphere with a bunch of large LCD TVs mounted to the walls around the restaurant. Stairs lead down to the bar below. We tried mediums of the: "Aegean" Garlic and olive oil base topped with sliced tomatoes, artichoke hearts, kalamata olives, feta, fresh basil, and parmesan. & "Mt. St. Helens" All Meat. Pepperoni, sausage, salami, Italian meatball Bill came out to $40+ - guess it would have been more economical to order an XL and split, but that still seems pretty ridiculous. Especially considering the quality. We had about 1/2 a medium at the end to take home. The crust was reminiscent of Papa John's with a lite dusting of cornmeal on the bottom (probably just to get the pie out of the pan). Mt. St. Helen was the better of the two, but I probably wouldn't order either again. Aegean was sort of a mess flavor-wise. Waaaaay too much uncooked garlic and basil which made each bite remind me of paint thinner and pine needles. I love both basil and garlic, but there is no way to deaden your taste buds faster than chomping down on raw garlic (try it out if you never have). The other problem is that they used Parmesan cheese as well as feta in addition to their cheese blend. The result is an excessively salty pizza. The Parmesan really isn't adding anything to the pizza flavor wise (other than pushing it off the cliff). When you are using bold flavors- especially cured ingredients like kalamata olives, you don't need the salt boost that works well with blander ingredients. Given their location, even if they served partially reheated Red Barrons or Tombstones for $20 a pop, they still wouldn't have a problem getting business. But I imagine there are a lot better places to get a tastier and less expensive pizza in Eugene. read more

Pegasus has totally decent old-school-pizza-parlor pizza. It's nothing particularly fantastic, but it will do. The location is convenient, and there are some big tables, which makes it one of the few places on/near campus where a big group of hungry grad students can all eat together. It's too expensive at night, but they have really good lunch deals. There's a decent selection of beer. read more

Pizza was ok. Scared away from campus location for fear of overcrowding. So I got mine delivered to my hotel through Pony Express, which is a more general delivery service and the only way to get Pegasus delivered. While a completely acceptable pizza, I can't help but think that at their moderate prices, they should have something more going for them like higher quality, better ambience, novelty, or something. Little Ceasar's has cheaper pizza. Mezza Luna has better pizza. So, um, the only big feature I can see for this place is that they're close to campus, which was a big turn off for this visitor. Came here on a date with my girlfriend. This was our first visit and we had the Pegasus calzone and a salad. The beer was very good (free taste before we purchased to make sure we liked it) and the service was very good as well. The calzone was made with good ingredients but was a tad bit greasy for my liking. The marinara sauce was excellent. The salad was delicious. We will be back and I highly recommend this place. Solid pizza parlor. I might be giving it an extra star just because it reminds me of pizza parlors from yore... red vinyl chairs, classic tunes... and they were open on Easter. Nothing fancy here, but they always have good beer on tap and some kind of good pizza deal. We're usually there with a coupon. The pizza isn't the most memorable grub, but's a tasty and easy choice. We usually go halvsies on a veggie vortex and the Little Italy, which has sausage, gorgonzola, basil, and some other goodness. We were promised 20 minutes and after telling our two hungry kids that timeline, we had to sit and wait another 15 minutes. To add insult to injury, they didn't offer a beer, a salad, or some other reasonable discount as a token if their apologies or otherwise try to right the situation. Thumbs down. Hands down our favorite pizza joint in town. Campus location has an awesome beer selection, TVs aplenty for sports, and a small but nice outdoor seating area. I imagine that this place gets swamped during the school year, but even so, we must just miss the crowds as we've yet to come when it's really busy. Fast service, pizza toppings are always fresh (we usually do half veggies and half meaty treats), and their crust is way better than the South Eugene locale, IMO. Although this pizza is pricey, I feel it's actually worth it. I full on admit I am a pizza snob. This place actually impressed me, and I've been back for more. The neighborhood is quiet, and near campus. There is indoor seating (in some retro, funky spring booths) as well as take out. When I go for lunch, it is hopping with kids grabbing a slice on the go. Wander in here some weekend to enjoy a slice and a beer. Slow down and enjoy the cheesy goodness...that's what I always say! read more

I had never had "gourmet" pizza till I had Pegasus, and I soon learned that even some of the most typical pizza combinations (sausage + pepperoni, etc.) were enhanced by the rich oven of their kitchen. In short, the pizza was crazy delicious! The only problem is that it comes with a price. Thus coming to Pegasus is not the most affordable option, but one that would warrant a special event most certainly. Pegasus stands as one of the better options for pizza in the area. Their no-frills menu manages to be simply great. A relaxing and large pizza parlor interior fits plenty and offers plenty of televisions to view any sports competitions usually displayed. Their thin pizza manages to be crispy all the way through despite the meat-sweat of the pepperoni. While I've not had their specialties, they manage to do the plain pizza quite well in comparison to their local rivals. Their delivery may not be the best option as the pizza did not come quite as fast and fresh as hoped. But still, it is a fine place to relax and grab a slice and drink with friends. read more

BBQ chicken pizza. Or teriyaki, both good. If this is what I want, Pegasus is where we go. They were one of the first places in Eugene back in the late 80's and 90's to have a unique specialty pizza selection. Another family favorite is the Mediterranean with sundried tomatoes, pesto and feta. Hated it as a child, love it now as an adult. My only current complaint is with the crust. For some reason it is just not very flavorful, I'm not quite sure what the deal is but is one of the few pizzas that I don't eat the crust. Also on occasion the thinness of the pies results in a burnt bottom. Unfortunately I always have to check the bottom before leaving on take out. Pegasus is a mere shell of it's former glory. Back in the 90's, when it truly was a "smoke house," the original owner used to smoke all his poultry and fish in-house. The BBQ chicken may have been the best on the west coast. Now it's "bistro" pizza. Except they use some pre-cooked, pre-sliced, bland crap chicken that you would expect to find at Abby's. That said, I will always have a soft spot for Pegasus. We used to hold our kidsports season-end parties in the basement before Fathoms was around. I can still remember the large marlin hanging on the back wall, Clearly Canadian in the beverage cooler, and smoked salmon pizza on the menu. Plus my last visit was the best in recent memory. The Hawaii 5-0 and Zydeco are solid choices, and the crust is still outstanding. The place is a campus icon. read more

Quality pizza at a reasonable price (it's my second favorite pizza in town behind Pizza Research Institute, or third favorite if you include La Perla). My favorites are the Mediterranean pizzas - the Aegean, and especially Zorba the Greek. Good beer selection on tap, and large screens to watch sports. On my fourth year at U of O and this is in my opinion the BEST overall PIZZA IN EUGENE! The smells that come out of this place brighten up my day usually because its early in the morning and cold and wet. They make everything from scratch which is pretty obvious and they have a great selection of their different kinds of pies. I have had a handful of their specialty pizzas and have always left the place stuffed and satisfied. I dunno what it is that makes their pizza so good but I want to say its a combination of their dough and toppings. For some reason, there are people in town that seem to think that Track Town Pizza is better than Pegasus, and I just laugh. Pegasus Pizza is my graduate department's go-to choice for pizza at our events, and their pizza is significantly better than Track Town's for several reasons. Their prices are more reasonable, especially when comparing the quality of the two businesses' pizzas. Pegasus has a wide variety of pizza options for vegetarians, and their topping combos are delicious and make so much sense! My favorites are the Veggie Vortex and the Aegean (notice the Greek theme?). Their campus location is a nice five minute walk from the side of campus with the Duck Store and McKenzie hall, so it's a good place to meet up with classmates after a long three-hour seminar class. The only complaint I have about Pegasus Pizza is the way they cook their pizza dough. While the toppings are evenly and generously dispersed throughout, the dough is not cooked into a crisp crust/bottom, which makes for floppy pizza. If they could fix this issue, their pizza would be five stars! Update: I was at Rennie's on the night of the debate, and they weren't even going to play the presidential debate on their TVs. So I gave Pegasus a call, and sure enough, they were playing it on their big screen TVs. So my friends and I came over to Pegasus for pizza and beers and some Trump bashing, and I was appreciative of the fact that the Pegasus employees turned the volume up so we could really hear the debate. We went there for the national championships and the pizza took nearly a half hour, and there were no seats. Ordered delivery, 6-6-15 (a Saturday) at 5:30 pm. It was roughly 20 minutes later than their estimate. Not a terrible wait for a Saturday, but the disappointing part was the pizza. I have had the California Chicken Club a number of times before, and it never tasted this cheap. It used to be laden with sauce and oil with a fluffy, moist crust. Toppings piled on liberally, and each one the perfect consistency and flavor. Now: Crust was thin and relatively hard. The sauce was applied thin and cooked until bone dry. There were maybe 1/2 to 1/3 the toppings there used to be. It was tough to swallow, because it wicked the moisture from our mouths. I wanted to spoil my friends with good pizza. This is probably my favorite pizza place. I love everything I've ever had here. When I want something nice and light I just order their salad, but when I'm ready to eat I order a pizza. My favorite is their lunch special because you can get half a salad and slice of pizza for about $5 which is an awesome deal considering the quality of food. The pizza dough is supreme, nice and fluffy inside with a crunchy outside. There's nothing wrong with the food here, and I'm always satisfied. read more
