It was my first time trying Peet's coffe and I was surprise with the quality of the coffe. I really like the place. It was clean and the music was great. The service is amazing at this location. We do a weekly team coffee order and they are always super quick at getting upwards of 12 drinks out to us quickly, and with a great accuracy. We never have issues of drinks not being made with the specifications incorrect. The almond croissants are also very good when warmed up. read more

I do not live in Novato but drop into the area every so often. When I do and I am craving a coffee, this Peets is my go to. Been stopping in since they opened 14 years ago. It is located off Highway 101, super close distance. The freeway is across the street. I have never had a bad drink here. Plus the pastries and breakfast sandwiches are not bad. I prefer them over SBs, better tasting and quality in my humble opinion. The drinks and food are consistent to the normal Peets standards. Pricing is on par to other like coffee places and seem to be increasing over the years. They have a few tables for inside seating both regular height and pub. They have an outdoor patio which is a poplar gathering spot and no matter what time of the day or year, it is packed. read more

New Baristas need better training. I often go in at end of day and the service can be very spotty, particularly with new people. I recently ordered 2 pounds of beans. One bag was overstuffed and the other very underfilled. See photo. No label on either. If these beans were for a gift, I would have asked for a redo. read more

This is a 10 minute walk from where I live which is very nice. I will often meet friends here since it has a nice outdoor space. They have the same great Peet's coffee here that you can get in any location. I am giving them only 3 stars because they definitely have room for improvement in other areas. I imagine that the baristas are taught this. When you have a multiple drink order, make the espresso shot last. It was disappointing to see my double espresso sit on the counter out of reach while I was waiting for the rest of my order. An espresso shot goes cold fast. Also, please read the notes for the order. Does the iced tea require extra simple syrup or is the espresso a short pull? I will be back. read more

This is one of my local coffee spots and the other day I saw they had a new item, a chicken and waffle sandwich. I thought it was strange from a coffee shop but was curious and a bit hungry. It smelled good like waffles...In the past I've had this with fried chicken and was expecting that. This was more of a slightly spicy chicken patty. I think there was also cheese and bacon on it. This location is now the closest to my parents' new home after 32 years at their previous home. We stopped here after our overnight visit to help them out. Masks and covid precautions followed. Clean and pleasant. Friendly staff. Quickly got our 2 drink order out. Only bad thing is no dine-in still and the bathrooms are blocked from usage. I miss pre-covid small luxuries as being able to sit in and enjoy your drink and to be able to piss w/o having to plan ahead or find a fast food place. They just don't want to clean them I guess but it is part of having guests. However many drink/eateries are using covid to cut services/convieniences/costs which are understandable but many take advantage to go too far. Iam sure places won't cut their prices back down after raising them later when Covid is behind us. Anyways, this is a good Peet's near the freeway to stop and get a drink.....to-go for now of course. read more

Tl;dr this location deprioritized my order and still got it wrong I arrived at this location very early in the morning, about five minutes before they opened. The store opened with three employees, and there was a line of customers outside waiting for them to open up this particular morning. I was third in line and ordered a mocha frappe. For some reason, despite having three associates, only one person was actually making drinks, and despite me being third in line, my drink ended up being about the fifth or sixth item made. It took 10 minutes from ordering to receive it. I received it and left in a hurry before realizing they made the wrong drink. This frappe has no chocolate in it whatsoever, and unfortunately it marks the second time in a row I've been disappointed by a drink at Peet's. This is a review well overdue so this is being written after this being my go to spot for the last 1-1/2 years every morning. The majority of the time staff is friendly and on it. There can be a few times out of the week I won't even be looked at while staff is talking amongst themselves or on their phone... but that's okay, I'm a grump before drinking coffee anyways. There was a period that I'd order online - same order all the time, same barista but yet my coffee wouldn't be what I ordered. So I've been double checking (always) because nothing is worse than drinking black coffee expecting my splash of half & half. Gawd I sound so spoiled. Anyways - the real reason behind the 5-star? TLDR: CAREFUL USING CREDIT CARDS HERE! If I need to go to a chain coffee, Peet's is the spot. The food is as mediocre as the staff in most Peet's, but I go in for coffee, not to recruit an all-star, make friends, or to feel more important than I am with Michelin-star service. I don't ask for much.. put the coffee in the cup, and take my money. The reason for the review is my experience at this store was much like Greg T., below. Be careful here. They will steal from you. I went in here and ordered a breakfast sando (don't do it), a pre-bottled O.J., and a small coffee. The total came to $12.79. A lack-luster associate, who we'll call 'Christian', was the one who rang me up. I just recently started using Tap-pay with my phone. At most places, it's sort of a tap, and walk away; gas station, grocery store, etc. On auto-pilot, I tapped and walked away from the terminal. After I left the store and drove off, I realized I did not tip, which I always do when I pay with cash. Habits.. I made a mental note to double-tip next time I went in. Remiss of my dereliction, I continued to think about it. I then remembered that the next screen would have offered all the tip options. I figured I should check for I walked away from it before committing out the transaction. When the transaction came through, it was $15.34, exactly 20% higher than it was when I left it. While on one hand, I had my mistake (in)corrected, on the other hand, I was stolen from. This is my go-to Peet's coffee place when I'm in Marin. I like the location being near the freeway exit/entrance. Although parking can be a bit challenging during peak hours, this Peet's location is alongside trendy other shops and restaurants. This Peet's coffee place never has too long a wait when I go there during my breaks. I like the energy and enthusiasm of the Peet's servers. They consistently get my order correctly, ground my beans perfectly, and prepare my drinks piping hot. As long as I work in Marin, I'll definitely keep coming back and back and back....... read more

Service was efficient and friendly, though coming from the City it was odd to be the only Asian in the place...even when it swelled to thirty people (I counted)! I was not the only minority, just the only Asian, hah. But, I'll be back. Good sized Peet's, still newish and as always, brightly lit - more so on a sunny day. Nice outdoor seating. You'll know where to order and pay since it's right in the middle of the shop. The pickup area and sugar/milk stands are a bit further in, and the restrooms are in the back. On the left side is the rest area and was the most crowded, and the right side's more loungy section. The location is very close to 101. If miss the Nave Drive exit going 101N, should still easily spot it about a quarter mile before the next exit - Bel Marin Keys and then turn right, can't miss. read more

I love coming here for my morning coffee every weekday on my way to work. The workers here are so friendly and always have a kind and welcoming attitude even when it gets very busy and things are going fast which happens frequently. I always appreciate their positive and upbeat attitude. It does tend to get busy in the morning though so it would be nice to see a more compartmentalized system for online orders vs in-person orders. Online orders tend to have to often have to integrate into the main line to track down the order which defeats some of the intended purpose of ordering online. read more

Last week I reloaded my card, was told that my balance will reflect next day. This still is not showing. I contacted customer service and they show a balance associated to my email address however this does not show on my Peet's App. Customer service can't help me, store can't help me. So now it's the principle, I've been on hold 3x to resolve this. I'm on hold again 17 minutes in and no one picking up. I have my bank transaction record showing my purchase to reload and I have a transaction the next day as well when I had to purchase my drinks because my Peet's card does not show a balance. So am I just SOL. Do I ask my bank to cancel or can store manager fix this with an email from customer showing my balance that should be associated to my Peet's card? Frustrating! Love this Peet's mostly for its abundant amount of seating (indoor and outdoor) and ease of parking. Convenient location in a little mall just off of the freeway with Super Duper (very important) and Safeway close by. The only thing is since adopting the concept of gender neutral bathrooms, they are filthy. Yuck. Better maintenance, please? Or maybe people can be a little more conscientious? All things considered, the Peet's in Hamilton remains to be one of my top choices of Peet's locations in Marin. read more

The smell of reheated pastry's and brewed coffee wafts through the air like a cool sea breeze has washed over you, like a wave. The only difference is, you'd rather be smelling the sea and enjoying life instead of waiting in line to get coffee to try and forget how much you hate your job. You're lonely, and as you give your order of a decaf latte you notice the beautiful girl managing the register... But let's be honest, you won't ever talk to her and you wouldn't have the time. You only have fifteen minutes to get your coffee and go off to work, and there is no way you'd come back here on your free time. After all, your free time isn't very free in the first place... All you do is sit at home looking at the news, checking your Twitter and watching Family Feud because you can't afford HBO or Netflix... At some obscenely early hour of the morning, my traveling companions decided that we needed to hike across the parking lot behind the Marriott Courtyard, so that they could order their soy latte mocha frappe cappuccino thingies from Peet's before the day got started. I knew that the Peet's coffee & tea chain had started down the road in Berkeley, CA over 50 years ago, and that Peet's motto is "Coffee First. Everything Else Second." Clearly they knew the people traveling with me. The shop was extremely busy, and the baristas were really scrambling to fill all of the orders. There was a line, almost to the front door, and seats at the nearby tables had filled up quickly. Indoor seating space was at a premium, but thankfully there were plenty of spots at the outdoor tables and chairs. While my gang was contemplating the proper pairing of their coffee drinks with one of the artisan baked breakfast pastries from the nearby pastry case, I was able to sneak in and place an order for hot green tea and a warm peach scone. My tea was poured into a to-go container, and the scone was served on a plate with a napkin. No muss, no fuss. Based upon the traffic in the shopping center, this Peet's store has quite the following. If you're there in the morning, then be prepared to wait a bit. Grumpy people should be asked to wait outside until they've had their first cup. read more

I have been here 5 times in the past 3 days, every time in the morning or late morning. I order a peppermint mocha and each time the barista does not add peppermint. If they are out of it they have to say something. I'm done spending my money on holiday drinks that would always taste great, when they can't even add peppermint. And the crazy thing is, when my drink is called out they even say "peppermint mocha" . When I am home for break I always go to Peets because it is more authentic and tastes better than Starbucks, but dang Starbucks never "forgot" the peppermint in the peppermint mochas, and if they ran out they said something at the time of order. I went in to do a little work. I like to work before I buy coffee. Today I sat for about 30 minutes and then as I was leaving I was going to get my daughter a hot chocolate and myself and my mom a white mocha. I stoop there for a moment and of the 4-5 people standing behind the counter not one looked up. I said I'd like to order and they all ignored me. So I left. I went into Peet's on a long lunch break after no one in the area could seem to point me in the direction of a tried and trusted Starbucks. I'd heard great things about the coffee and decided I was game for my first venture into the world of Peet's. However, nothing could've prepared me for the terrible customer service I received from our friendly (insert: SARCASM) neighborhood barista, Austin. I walked in and perused the menu while a lady in front of me wrapped up her order. I walked to the counter when it was my turn and Austin stared at me with a questioning look and didnt say anything. What? Did I have something on my face? Was there food stuck in my teeth from lunch? SPEAK! I raised my eyebrows, waiting for the customary response typically afforded of someone in service. He finally said "What did you want?" Um, hello! How about a "Hello, welcome to Peets! What can I get for you?" I placed my order, fairly simple iced caramel latte with soymilk, to which his response was "What was that?" or so I heard, which prompted me to repeat my order and he responded, apparently annoyed by my lack of hearing, "No, I said WHAT SIZE?". A little customer service provided to the *GASP* customer is apparently too expensive in this economic recession. On that note, after working for 10 years in customer service, I REFUSE to spend my money anywhere that cant muster a friendly face, even if it is a forced, fake one.
