Peets coffee is my preference on the go, over the other place that starts with an S ;) Why? Because it tastes like coffee. It's bold and strong, which is my preference. While their food and pastries are not my favorite, I go there for the coffee and chai. Their chai is just the right amount of spice and sweet, so delish. The app is great. Rewards could be better haha, but maybe soon! This Peet's Coffee has parking, kind service, clean bathrooms and lots of seating area. No drive through but I don't think I've seen a Peet's drive thru...ever? Do they exist? Idk. Anyways, Peet's coffee is you actually like/love the taste of coffee and want that fix. read more

Ordered a surprise bag on the TooGoodToGo app, never again, at least not from this particular Peet's. I understand that the food is left over at the end of the day, but the leftover pastries were not individually packaged and were merely shoved in to a paper bag. Which seemed not only very unprofessional, but also very unsanitary. Came mid evening on a Wednesday and very relaxing atmosphere. The ladies behind the counter greeted us and was happy to give me a moment while I looked over the menu. I honestly haven't been to a Peet's before. Another young lady took over ordering which was fine she was very bubbly with personality. Believe her name was Ester. I decided on a vanilla latte and with it being a warm day she clarified if I wanted it hot or iced. The baristas that made the drink were quick and Ester made sure I liked the taste of it before wishing me a good evening. So glad customer service isn't dead at Peet's in Novato. Will have to stop in again for a drink heading to IVC for late night softball. But with the cooler evenings ahead I hope the hot coffee and chocolate is as good as the iced latte I enjoyed. read more

Never again. This is the third time I have patronized this location in the last two months and every single time it is an unacceptable wait before I get my drink. This morning it took 16 minutes (yes, I timed it) from order to drink delivery. Online orders are obviously prioritized over the customers who order in person. There was no more than 6 people in the store and all were waiting, and obviously perturbed, for their drinks. I don't blame the staff as they are terribly understaffed to handle the in store purchases and online orders. Also shrinkflation is hard at work here with a medium coffee drink smaller than a year ago and a mocha is now $6.05. I can make much better, cheaper and faster coffee at home. I also get MUCH better service and quality at independently owned cafes. Buy Peets and good riddance! read more

A cup of coffee and a scone, an easy order, right? Pointing at the peach scone with raspberry and blackberry in the display case, I ordered it. The order taker then reached behind the counter and placed a different scone in a bag. Got out to my car, and it was a dry, stale and fruitless scone. Terrible experience here! I love Peet's but I would never come back to this location. My mom and I were just stopping through the area around 3PM. Ordered holiday spice latte for me (which turned out fine), and my mom wanted DECAF café ole. She asked the barista first if they had decaf. The girl casually looked over her shoulder and hesitantly said yes, they had decaf. So she took our money, I paid a tipped, and we waited. My mom's drink comes out and my mom confirms, "and this is decaf, yeah?" The other barista making the drinks looks confused, and goes "I don't think we have decaf." Okay, cool, so communication errors happen, but also, you should verify that you actually have a product before I fork over my cash. Also, good thing my mom asked, because she didn't want caffeine at 3PM (and some people can't have caffeine at all!). So then the girl goes, "Uhh, I can make you a decaf ICED AMERICANO." Girl, how is that even close to the same as a hot café ole? And we were like, so if you can make a decaf americano, why can't you use the same coffee for a decaf café ole? Oh no, it has to be different decaf coffee. What? THEN she says "Oh, well, I can make you some other drink on the house." On the house? On the house means free, which isn't free if I already paid for a drink I'm not going to get plus the tip. LOL. Mind you, she is giving major attitude during this whole interaction. No apology. I would have definitely overlooked a lot of this had she not been acting rude, texting on her phone, and wiping her snotty nose on her sleeve the entire time (yup, wiping it while talking to us). My mom then asks if she can just do a decaf drip coffee. The girl proceeds to CRANK the decaf pump up and down several times with seemingly all of her strength, getting tiny drips of decaf out each time. This went on for about 30 seconds before we said forget it, not trying to drink the sludge at the bottom of the pot. Clearly you are out of decaf, just stop. When we told her nevermind on the decaf, she snapped "Oh, well now we just wasted the last of our decaf." Excuse me?! There was MAYBE a tablespoon left. Instead of complaining and acting like we were the problem for their mistake, in those five minutes she could have started a fresh pot of decaf. I don't know why everything was made to be so difficult when the solution seemed really easy to me. What's more, is that my mom and I remained really polite up until this happened. So at this point my mom and I are feeling pretty annoyed and I said, you know what, just give me my five bucks back please and we'll be on our way. Now she claims she can't give me my money back UNTIL HER MANAGER GETS BACK FROM BREAK. What the hell? When the register opens for the next customer, just take the money out and hand it to me. I have the receipt, and I paid cash! She says "Oh no, because then it would be like I'm taking from the register." What???? No it isn't, I literally paid you in cash. The cameras can confirm. The receipt can confirm. Your coworker can confirm! So we asked how long until her manager is back from break, she goes "I don't know," without looking up from her phone and continues texting! Come on. I said, look, we're just trying to go, can you at least call your manager because I'm not waiting 30 minutes to get my money back after you screwed up and decided to cop an attitude about it. The whole thing was ridiculous and unprofessional. I totally feel for service workers having worked years and years in customer service (and in large part, still do). But, I am not cool with sour tones and unwillingness to help correct an error in a way that makes the customer happy still. They weren't busy, there is no reason why more decaf couldn't be made. It was mid-afternoon, it makes sense to make decaf. But beyond that, the way this girl handled the situation and spoke to us was shocking and I'll think twice about supporting Peet's as often in the future. read more

I don't know what's happened to this Peet's but it's really gone down hill. Every time I go there there's some problem with my order. Last time I ordered a chai latte and left with I don't know what it was but it definitely was Chai. Luckily I took a sip out of it while getting in my car. Today my husband went and it's supposed to be free plant based milks all month, but of course he didn't get it and they knew nothing about it. Nice outdoor seating area. Inside has high ceilings that give the place more light and makes it feel more open. It's always super chilly inside though. Parking is very rough, small lot. If the lot is full, the only other parking is on Grant, so you might have to take a stroll if you don't luck out on a parking spot. Bathrooms need better maintenance. read more

I asked for an average Havana Cappuccino 16 oz, had no other customers to be served, the bartender gave me in the near 8 oz and for the first time in a long time I felt bad complaining because when I went to talk to her, she tried to justify herself Saying that cappuccinos were like that and asked me if I wanted her to add me more milk, so I said no. On such a cold and blustery day as this one, I joyfully entered their warm coffee shop with the aroma of Java and cheerful chatter from its patrons filling the air. Greeted by a smiling, bearded barista with a friendly word, I put in my order for a large tea. He anticipated that I might like room for milk and made sure to fill it just right. While simple, the heat and the taste satisfied me while I waited for a friend to arrive. I love the slow-paced environment encouraged here, where conversation and human connection are encouraged. When my friend arrived, we sat for a few hours, ordered a few more refills, and laughed until they politely told us they were closing. Such an easygoing time and yet so memorable. This is definitely my favorite place to get coffee in Novato. The staff are amazing. They seem to always put the effort in to make sure you are having the best day possible. Even on the worst of days, I leave here smiling. They never fail to put the extra mile in. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and every single staff member seems happy and enthusiastic. Honestly, it wouldn't even matter if they're coffee is good because you leave here energized and happy anyways. But the coffee is amazing, and they always get my super picky order right! Beautiful location. Spacious interior with lots of electrical outlets. Friendly staff. But, I went here two days in a row and found the wifi not working both days. The new place is so much nicer that the old Peet's building (especially the bathrooms!). The location is slightly less convenient for us, but really it's a great location in the middle of town. I'm a fan of Peet's coffee. I find this locations consistent with other locations. I don't often take advantage of this Peet's. I usually go to the Peet's in San Rafael. It's a convenient location for me since Yogaworks opened next door. This Peet's is large and is often busy. It's a comfortable setting and people linker at the tables. It is often hard to find a table and the coffee station is often messy due to the high volume. The floors are often littered with paper napkins and pastry crumbs. I like Peet's tea and coffee but have not been a regular in years past. The lines sometimes are slow but the staff is very nice. read more
