I have been a devotee of peets coffee since my college days when peets was my go to treat. I fucking love the black tie, sipping it with a straw so I get those delicious bits of condensed milk. My sadness upon realizing that peets are rare in houston was allayed by my realization that peets is at Hobby airport. I had an early flight and spied my opportunity. The line was long but it moved fast. After taking my order, they had my order out in under a minute. The black tie I enjoyed from this peets was the best black tie I've ever had. Perfectly milky and smooth, the coffee had a chocolatey richness and almost didn't need the condensed milk to make it better. While I am still a bit bummed that I can no longer grab peets on my morning commute, at least it's still around nearby and there will be more peets in my future! read more

Occurred 12/29/24 at 7:35am. Pretty sure the cashier over charged me. I was in a rush to get to my gate and desperately needed coffee. Get to the counter and with her sorry attitude tells me their system is down and they can only offer iced or hot coffee. I agreed to iced coffee with pump of syrup. Now, I know airport food is not cheap, but she gave me the coffee with very little ice not filled to the top and charged me for my sandwich. Over $18!!! How is a small black iced coffee with a $.90 pump of syrup and an Antone's sub almost $20! I know a small iced coffee was about $5 plus a sandwich average MAYBE $10. Make sure to ask for your receipt because seemed like a tip was included when it did not ask if I wanted to give a tip. I grabbed a large cup of rich, deep, dark roast full bodied coffee, the perfect preflight drink especially since the alcohol service has been suspended on all Southwest flights even though I earn a few coupons with each flight reservation. I paired this delicious cup of coffee with a cold bottled water to ensure I had plenty of liquid refreshments for my flight back to Orlando - I chose to enjoy a portion of my coffee while sitting at a one of the small tables along the wall in the middle of the cafe. The length of the line fluctuated as the staff poured the brew and dished out the sweets from the glass display case - I don't recall having Peet's prior to my arrival here, it seemed like a perfect time to try them out over the other Starbuck's option I passed while making my way to the gate. The staff here was friendly and accommodating even though the two barristers seemed to get no breaks especially with some of the exotic orders which were honestly a little ridiculous. As more and more plant based beverages options enter the market making this job a little more complex this duo seemed unfazed and easily kept up. Okay. Okay. This Peet's Coffee is the one across from Shoe Shine and Gate 41. Since my flight is delayed, I get to grab something to eat. I missed my breakfast at home. I adore Peet's coffee when I travel to California. I was so happy to see there is one as soon as I deplaned from San Jose Bay Area. My pleasure subsided when I actually eating here. Well. Ma'am, there is a fruitfly in your muffin case. So I ordered blueberry scone from a different case. As I was eating, I felt something was pulling. Oh. My. Gawd. Who's blonde hair was this? I believe these are employees of Hobby Airport, not actually Peet's Coffee standard operation. They just wore uniform to fool us. Staff were not friendly nor speaking slowly through face mask. Super early flights call for coffee! Had the Vanilla Latte and a Blueberry muffin. Latte was tasty and not overly sweet. The server was super friendly and went out of his way to make all customers feel welcome. A great gift for weary travelers. We also tried the brown sugar latte with jelly. Never been to a Peet's before. Omw home to San Diego from Houston and saw this location inside Hobby Airport as I was walking to my gate. I grabbed an iced caramel latte with almond milk since I had some time to kill. Service was pretty quick and the lady was nice. I was in and out in a few minutes. The latte itself tasted great! There are a few tables inside so you can dine in if you so choose. Pricing was a bit over the norm since it's in the airport, but that's normal. I'd come again next time I head to Houston. Stop in and try it out if you're a Starbucks fanatic like me. Omw out I did walk past the Starbucks but yeahhhh I'll be giving Peet's more love. Gotta try other things on their menu! read more

I got an iced coffee with oat milk & it cost about $7. Not too bad considering there was no wait, service was good (Manager was funny) and I got my coffee quickly. Since Hobby airport is fairly small, there are really only 2 places to get coffee..Starbucks and here at Peet's. I'd patronized Peet's coffee locations before, and compared to the long line of people at Starbucks (and gobs of people in the concourse near Starbucks waiting for their beverages to be made), the line here at Peet's was smaller and much more manageable by comparison. When I arrived I was only about the 6th person in line, and that line moved quickly. There was one person taking coffee orders and yelling them out to the baristas, and a second person a bit farther up working the register, taking orders for food or other items and taking your payment. My cappuccino was ready just a few moments after I paid, there were plenty of open tables for 2 in the place to sit, eat and sip, and the prices were fair. I had a medium cappuccino, a cheese danish and a blueberry muffin and my total with tax came to a bit more than $14. read more

Came in with my wife. The drinks were good. The atmosphere and coffee shop is nice and professional. It's the service I had a problem with. The staff was not very friendly. The trash cans are like 110% full and watching the employees have multiple opportunities to empty them they just walk by. There is a trash can outside for customers and one inside for the barista. After swilling my traveller to get through TSA I needed something hot, dark, and brown for the wait... wandering off to the left nothing really caught my eye, as I made my way down and to the right I spied a Texas Peet's casa de cafe. Close enough. For nine dollars american I got a straight black drip plus yesterday's raspberry scone to hold me until we hit the ground in North Carolina. Once again the coffee is way too hot and will likely continue thus until I have no time to drink it (which is not such a bad problem to have.) Scone was lightly iced and appropriately dry without being crumbly, the red jellied fruity spread was sufficient but could have started a bit nearer to the fold. read more

I will say I asked to add an extra shot to my latte hoping to make it pretty strong but I could barely taste the coffee with 4 shots. Unfortunately I had a flight to catch so I didn't have time to go back and add any espresso. It was reasonably priced for airport coffee ($7.47 for a large iced latte with the extra shot and oat milk) but unfortunately I ended up throwing away my cup that was mostly just oat milk as I got on my plane. read more

I had a hard time and was wavering between three and four stars but with the amount of negative I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. I haven't had the chance to have Peet's that much, outside of the actual stuff you make it home. It was a pleasant chance. The coffee here seems to be a lot more about the beans then the flavoring as you see often at a Starbucks. But I was quite okay with that as I really enjoy a deep, dark roast. I've seen some comments about the people here being unpleasant, but that was definitely far from my experience. Of course coming at a 5 o clock time frame versus morning might affect that. The price for the size of the coffee was not impressive nor was the taste, yuck. I think it was overly sweet and the portion that was provided to me. My cup was not even full like most typical beverages are when you order something. When the customer service rep called my name, he sat my drink on the counter with no lid over it so my item was exposed to whatever and whom ever was walking up there to grab their drink. Not a very sanitary situation, I am not too sure if this is the way this place handles most clients drink orders or this location was just being lazy.
