I've had great service and professionalism, excellent drinks. Lately, the last couple months, the drink I got a friend was half full for "room" when he didn't ask for room. Drive thru: my kid wasn't on, the medium hot drink spilled all over my arm and chest, lap. I pulled over to clean up, a complaint wouldn't have solved anything, no one takes accountability for their actions. Another day, my medium hot Havana that I always order, was half full and half foam. I pulled out of the drive thru and went inside to be told by a male working the counter- it was "actually made really well, I actually like the foam". Uhh, no, I've never had a half cup foam, the cup was noticeably lightweight and I'm not paying for foam. I used a stirrer to show the emptiness. The female barista remade it and it was perfect, thank you! Please don't try to talk someone into liking or believing something when it's not what they want. I was easy going, I said thank you etc, no attitude, you don't deserve the stress, but neither do your customers. Btw, I stopped going inside because the tables and store were not cleaned on several occasions. This HAS improved. read more

The employees and management of this location have absolutely zero respect for customers. Zero. They don't even deserve 1 star. They are unprofessional and rude to customers, close at random times with no warning, and now they're doing a stunt where they are only serving customers who own cars. If you're low income and you don't own a car, you're not allowed to buy coffee here anymore. Awful place and this store is the reason why for the first time in my life, after being a customer for nearly 30 years, I am never going to Peet's ever again. I know this location is new so it makes sense that the coffee sometimes sucks. The employees are super nice though and they try their best. Here's a tip: temperature is very important in coffee because if it's too hot it has a burnt taste, and if you pour warm espresso directly into an iced drink, it waters the drink down. Oatmilk is supposed to have a sweet aftertaste and it's supposed to create microfoam when it's steamed properly. If you pour the oat milk into the espresso cup and it's flat, not fluffy, and foamy, then you likely made the milk way too hot but not properly steamed. This makes the coffee taste bitter and takes away from the sweet oatmilk flavor. If you hold the milk thing at an angle under the steamer/frother thing, wait for it to get fluffy, and pour it in, you'll have the perfect oatmilk drink. Also, with iced drinks, for example, an iced latte, ofc you have to put hot espresso, cold milk, and ice together right? But if you pour hot espresso directly over ice, it'll water down the whole drink and make it lukewarm - tastes horrible. However (!), if you pour the espresso into the cold milk (so it can cool down and the temperature can neutralize) and then pour the cold espresso milk into the ice, it makes the perfect iced latte, I hope I don't sound too prissy lmao just feel like Peets' whole thing is that the coffee doesn't suck and it would be nice if that continued. read more

I love my Peets but this particular location has never gotten it together, unfortunately. Since they've opened, it's been sloooow and the coffee hasn't been quite as spot on as we are accustomed to from Peets. The baristas don't seem to hustle like we are used to seeing. Even when there are plenty of workers and not that many customers, I still waited over 20 minutes for my mobile order, after asking about it twice. Very sad as it's so close to our house, we were so excited to have it, but we will continue to support the Pinole location. read more

I love coming to Peet's to start my day. Very nice place. I want to say this to make Peet's better for everyone. The place gets filthy. The Baristas are busy. Someone has to take out the trash and wipe the tables down. We all eat without masks so if Covid is a reason preventing more staff from working, it is acrually doing more harm. There is only 1 bathroom, the other is Out of Order. And the one bathroom that is open has no soap!! That is unacceptable. Hire more staff to fight Covid and hygiene. Not just make coffee endlessly. The staff is really nice. Hercules is a nice town and Peet's is new here. Please fix this. I want Peet's to be ahead if it's competitors read more

super excited to have a peet's in the neighborhood. my fiancé and i decided to walk over on opening day. there was a short line that lead to the outside, but it went by fairly quickly. first thought when i walked in was that it was wayyy better than i expected. love the open layout and mid century design of the whole place. it just gave out a cool, chill, comfortable vibes. it has a good amount of space if you need to study or get some work done. i ordered an iced coffee with a chocolate chip cookie. the barista asked if i wanted the cookie warmed, which ended up being soft and chewy, just how i like it. they also gave out a small bag of coffee with a drink purchase, so i thought that was cool, too. the only reason why i gave them four stars instead of five was because i came back the following day and didn't feel like the baristas were as nice and friendly like they were on the opening day prior. also, because there outdoor seating area is scarce and slightly disappointing. but, i'll be coming back. read more

I love peet's but the service here is substandard. I waited over 25 mins (no exaggeration) for a drink they had to make after I asked for it. There was no apology, no recompense for my lost time. Why would I have to continuously check on my drink? The barista Heather saw me standing right by the bar. Not once did she ask what my drink was. And The cashier Sam just swept behind the bar. She is the one that took my order. If she is a manager or supervisor, I'm appalled bc when she asked heather about my drink, heather replied with "I made it." Lol. Lies. I was sitting/standing by the bar the entire time. Also the lobby was dirty. I have pics. The peets in pinole is nice. The people there are great!!! Do not go to the Hercules location unless you want cavalier attitudes and no hustle. I will be calling corporate and sharing this experience. This was just a sad example of baristas. not great. i attempted the drive thru but it was swamped. by the time i made it to the window, the coffee i picked up was cold. i wouldnt advise going thru the drive because coffee is not piping hot. read more
