So it's easily my favorite coffee spot around. Yes, this is your classic hipster coffee spot. And yes, it's worth it. Totally worth paying a little extra for fantastic coffee. Probably one of the most comfortable coffee shops to hang out in because it's pretty big with decent seating. I go at least once a month to see a friend perform and every time I'm a little disappointed with the drinks. They all seem to taste the same to. I have seen this place many times on my visits to Peekskill. I have to say that this is one of those gems you find in a rough place. This place is the true embodiment of the coffeehouse experience. Nothing is commercialized or gimmicky. The coffee is fresh, bold and tasty. The food choices are outrageous. The tomato soup tastes like liquid lasagna in your mouth!! This is a coffee house done right. Guests were of all ages and walks of life, furniture is 1950s flea market style, board games stacked on a bookshelf, an area for locals to promote their businesses, airy space, friendly staff, good music in the background and food. I only had a latte but it was A+ and loved how their espresso drinks started at the 2 shot size (because let's be serious.) My husband and I, we fell in love with this place! It really felt as if we were walking into a coffee shop with the whole town there, being friendly and having a good time. No one was on their phones! This place has such a home feel to it. We aren't from the area and seeing this was foreign and calming at the same time (you try finding a coffee shop like this in NYC!). The coffee is the best iced coffee I have ever had. The chocolate babka, first time I ever had one and I feel as if I will never experience a babka that amazing, ever again. The staff is patient, attentive, and fast. They have their suggestions and they are super friendly. They know almost everyone by name! We had my three month daughter with us at the time and I had to change her. Unfortunately, their bathrooms do not have a changing pad BUT I made it work. I get creative points for that, right?! Ha! The place is stroller friendly! It is big! The place is clean and the atmosphere is unique. Their furniture is unique in the sense that there isn't one piece that looks the same. There is a corner by the bathrooms that has a kitchen table and I fell in love with that corner. It looks like it came straight out of the 50s/60s and there were kids doing homework together. People still do that?! Woah! If you are in town, definitely take a stop here. Sit down, relax, and take it all in. We spent an hour here and that has never happened at a coffee shop. Ever. The coffee and atmosphere are wonderful. They do have a staff problem with a rude male employee though who hung up on me when I was inquiring about commissioning work from the artist who is presently showing at the PCH. I already bought a piece on display and talked to the artist last week about the commission. She said come in and bring a photo of what I wanted her to draw for my mother's 96th birthday present. I called to find out when she would be in and the rude male said it was private information and hung up on me. When I called back he put the answering machine on. I've owned my own store and I've worked with artists professionally and it's not only disturbing how I was treated as a customer but how damaging his attitude is to the artists who showcase their work and hope to sell some pieces. If I hadn't already talked to the artist and loved her work, I would have probably enlisted another artist. read more

Best coffee place ever! I'm completely obsessed! The staff is also wonderful!! I usually only go in for the coffee (I've had the Belgian waffles too, amazing!) Yesterday I wanted to try one of their crepes (Nutella w/ strawberry & banana). I placed my order and once I finished fixing up my coffee I completely forgot about the crepe, so sadly I left with only my coffee. I called the coffeehouse explaining the situation and apologizing for my mistake. I came in the next day (today) and they are being so accommodating and making me a fresh crepe free of charge! Can't say enough about how much we enjoy this place! We make it a point to come every weekend when able and miss it when we aren't around. Great unique coffee house atmosphere, awesome quirky staff, large seating areas for any type; working, studying, people watching and free wifi if you ask for the slip at the counter. Coffee/barista : The coffee is always on point, they seem to really care about the product they are putting out. I typically order a cappuccino or cafe au lait with soy milk (+60 cents), or cold brew black, sometimes throw in a flavor shot, always delicious. The house Flatiron blend is dark bodied and flavorful, not what I typically find when it comes to ordering hot coffee out that usually falls short on real flavor. My other half typically orders an iced red eye and always has good things to say. The baristas are always on top of their game and keep the flow moving. Shout out to Randy on those Saturday mornings! Food : If we have time, I always order a panini and my other half gets a savory crepe. Eating mainly plant based it's nice to have the option to build your own of each. Although there is typically a wait for both to be made, it's worth it if you have the 15-20 minutes to sit and enjoy your coffee while you wait for your food. The food comes out fresh and flavorful, keeps us coming back every time. If we have to grab and go we typically get a croissant and bagel. The croissants are decent and have heard multiple times that they are baked fresh daily; the bagels are also decent, nothing too special about them, just a typical bagel, but always seem fresh and consistent. We have also ordered smoothies many times, always delicious. Highly recommend if local or if passing through! Be patient and it'll be worth it. read more

We went here after having gone on a hike. It was a perfect place to warm up. The service was good, the people were friendly and they were flexible when we ordered something off the menu. There is plenty of seating and although it is crowded, it still has a spacious feel to it (if you come from new york city). My favorite part about this place was the gallery/stores upstairs. It is great to see what local artists are producing and there are some beautiful artifacts and jewelry! I'd definitely recommend this place after a nice hike! read more
