Whenever we visit Solvang we usually eat Danish food at the local Danish restaurants. We decided to try a different highly touted restaurant that we have not had before. We arrived at Peasants Feast on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. The restaurant is located in a nice area in the heart of Solvang. Parking is accessible in the several large parking lots and street parking around the area. Inside the restaurant is moderate- sized with nice modern decor. Plenty of tables and booths are available for dine in. The outdoor patio looks inviting and relaxing. We ordered a Solvang hot chicken sandwich, pastrami smoked salmon sandwich, a kids fried chicken, a glass of Chardonnay, and a local draft craft beer. Everything was delicious and high quality. My hot chicken sandwich had the right amount of juiciness and crispness. The spicy kick was just right as well. The pastrami salmon sandwich was flavorful. It was a different unique take comparable to the lox bagel. Unfortunately my son's kids fried chicken underwhelmed as it only had 1 piece of chicken. It was tasty but lacking in portions size. For that price, 2-3 pieces of chicken would have been more fair. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Peasants Feast. The staff were friendly and helpful. The vibe was family friendly and bustling. I like the fact that the restaurant was not your typical Solvang tourist trap. Next time we are back in town, I definitely would come back to try other dishes on the menu.

Peasants FEAST in Solvang is a must. Peasants Feast has earned Michelin recognition, and it's easy to see why. I ordered the mushroom tacos with a side of pinquito beans, and everything was SO good. The tacos were delicious, and the beans were the perfect side. They focus on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and really let the food speak for itself. Robbie was my server and he was knowledgeable and attentive. He made the experience even better. Peasants Feast is a yummy decadent stop in Solvang. and I love their no reservation policy. It makes it so easy to come on by. Thank you! Support local!

Loves the atmosphere! Both interior and exterior seating were beautiful and thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience here. Staff was kind and the food was tasty and beautiful LIL MC FEAST BURGER $23 - ( 7/10 ) could be a little more salty. Sauce was tasty and the bun was crunchy and fluffy PASTRAMI SMOKED SALMON - $21 ( 7/10 ) DELIICOUS! The cream cheese salmon combo was refreshing and perfect for people who like salmon and cheese. It could use a bit more capers but loved the sandwhich version of a lox bagel. SOLVANG HOT CHICKEN - $22 ( 7/10 ) Very soft chicken was juicy and the batter was crispy. Was dripping with a bit of oil. It comes in no spicy, side spice, and light spice.

Great service! I'd like to come back here and try other things, noteably the chicken sandwich which seems like the thing to get! Opted for a burger, and though it was good - it just felt lackluster. My beau called his salad "boring" which is a first (as he is the healthiest eater I know). They gave us a great seat with little room to spare for closing so that was very nice of them. Love the atmosphere. Felt very homey and comfortable.

Love having lunch here whenever in Solvang. We came here with my family, ten of us and had a great lunch. The service is friendly and helpful. The food was as amazing as always. The grilled cheese with tomato soup is a must try. The ambiance is nice specially outdoor seating area. Everyone loved what they ordered and said it was amazing.

Amazing French Dip sandwich!

If you were to tell me that I'd visit Solvang twice in a year I'd say "yeah right". If you added that I'd also be dining at Peasant FEAST both those times I'd say "REALLY!!!?" PF is an exceptional restaurant that serves exceptional food. I've only been here twice and the second time was better than the 1st. My only disappointment was that I couldn't get what I got on my 1st visit in February. And ya know what? That's ok. It presented the opportunity to try new things! This time I got at their French dip sandwich with a side of potatoes. OOF! If it's on the menu do try it and wash it down with a cold beer (or wine is nice too). The service was as excellent as the 1st time and the vibe also perfect. The patio area is pet friendly so sure bring your fur baby along (they'll bring out some water for them too!) Overall: Yes there are many fine dining establishments in Solvang to try but I'm telling you...this is the only spot I want to stay true to. Misc: They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays so plan accordingly. Enjoy!

You know the food is fantastic when it's great straight out of the fridge the next day. We didn't have reservations here but we were able to walk up and get a seat at the counter even though it was packed that day! Inside of this restaurant is pretty cute but can get a bit noisy since there are so many people inside. We ordered the Copenhagen caesar, Solvang hot chicken sandwich with crispy potatoes, and the mac & cheese with caramelized onions to share. I love a hot chicken sandwich and theirs is absolutely fantastic. The herbs, shredded cabbage, and pickled onions were a great addition to the spicy fried chicken. The crispy potatoes were so good, they held up well the next day as well! I highly recommend getting the caramelized onions added to the mac and cheese. The portion was quite big so we had to take it to go but it was also great to eat cold straight from the fridge. We are definitely coming back again if we are in the area but will try and make a reservation so we can sit outside next time!

We came here on a Friday around 1:45pm. We were seated immediately in the patio since we had our dog with us. Not too long after us several groups came and the wait quickly became 30-40 min. Seems like they're busy even on off hours and rightfully so! The solvang chicken sandwich was so juicy and tender! I'd def come back for that. The ambience inside and outside had such a cozy vibe to it.

Brussels Sprouts Salad

My favorite restaurant in Solvang has to be our lunch at Peasants Feast, especially with the appearance of the horse drawn carriage from our patio table. The pastrami smoked salmon sandwich does not actually have pastrami but the pastrami spices are present in each bite of the smoked salmon. It worked so well, I wish I didn't have to share but with so much good food, unless my stomach is bigger, sharing allowed me to try more things. I was so happy that we had an option to have a cup of butternut squash soup with that sandwich making it the perfect soup and sandwich combo. The shaved Brussel Sprouts salad is so addictive that I couldn't stop eating it and was a great way to get more veggies in our diet. Even though I over ordered to try everything I wanted, shaved Brussels Sprouts salad, halibut tacos and pastrami smoked salmon sandwich with a cup of butternut squash soup, I regretted not coming back for dinner to have it all over again.

This place is right downtown and has a lovely patio and dining area, and is always popular, so when I saw a chance for a late lunch without crowds, I jumped into action - and I'm glad I did! For my first visit, I am now a fan. The ambiance is nice and comfortable, with lots of natural light. I was quickly seated by a large window that looked out onto an area with tables for a bakery next door. Ideas for dessert? The menu is varied enough for folks, and I focused on the Gold Coast Grilled Cheese sandwich (sharp cheddar, gruyere, mozzarella, caramelized onions, parmesan crisp, The Baker's Table pain au levain vegetarian) with a choice of sides. I had also noticed a new offering, a creamy Fennel soup with local olive oil, and toasted almonds. I choose a cup of that soup for a side. The sandwich and soup came together, and the soup was steamy hot - literally! The sandwich has a side served up with grilled parmesan cheese, and the opposite side (or flip side, as I want to say) has the traditional grilled look. I have photos of both sides here. The soup was indeed creamy, and at one point I was trying to figure out how to answer someone who asks, "What does it taste like?" And I still don't have an answer. However, it does have a slight herbal licorice taste, but not at all overwhelming, and if you don't eat licorice, you may notice it but not be able to place it. However, if you don't like licorice, I think you would still enjoy this soup, as the flavor is very subtle. It was extremely delicious. The sandwich, with the parmesan crisp and mixed cheeses, was very cheesy, and I loved that. Overall, the food was outstanding and the service wonderful, with water refills on cue and quick service for ordering and closing out the bill. My server, Maggie, was top notch - thank you! If you are in Solvang and want a quality meal at a decent price (for Solvang) come here, and if they are less busy than usual, all the better!

Key Lime Pie. Perfect ratio if sweet and sour and textures

If you're in Solvang, this place is a MUST! I came here for lunch right when it opened at 11am on a weekday and within 11:30am the place was already getting packed. The chicken sandwich would be my favorite entree of the 3 entrees I tried. My table ordered a different item on the menu with a different side so we could sample and share everything. I really liked the corn soup. French dip was good but it personally wasn't my favorite. I'm also normally not a key lime pie person but I read the reviews and it convinced me to try it. It was a good balance of sweet and sour ratio as well as balanced texture. The top reminded me of a toasted marshmallow. If I ever do come back to Solvang, I'll be sure to come back here and try the grilled cheese. I also wanted to try the Mac and cheese but we had already ordered too much. So until next time....

salmon pastrami sandwich, spicy chicken sandwich, and mac n cheese

came to peasants feast after watching a number of TikToks rave about this place. overall verdict: it was definitely worth the try! I was scared I'd leave a hungry but their portions are decent. just beware, the plates are on the pricier side. love how they use local ingredients though my favorite bite was the spicy chicken sandwich but the mac n cheese was also very unique and the salmon pastrami sandwich was stuffed with lox and bussing out the seams with cream cheese. We waited ~20-35 mins to be sat, but solvang offers a variety of shops and bakeries to explore in the meantime so all was well.

I'm the type of person who researches a place before visiting - spending the weekend in Solvang last week was no different. I kept coming across peasants FEAST and knew my family and I had to add it to our list. They were Michelin recognized in 2024! We decided to check them out for lunch on a Saturday, we showed up right when they opened and got a nice seat outside on their patio. The restaurant slowly started filling up more and more after we got there so glad we arrived when we did! They do not take reservations so it is first come, first served. We ordered the Kids Orecchiette with Butter, Lil McFeast Burger and the Solvang Hot Chicken. We got some drinks on the side as well including the Fresh Squeezed Lemonade which my daughter was obsessed with. I really enjoyed the food - it was fresh and well seasoned throughout. I asked for less spice on my Hot Chicken, but it was still spicy and tasty! Overall, it was a good meal, not my favorite of the trip, but still worth checking out for sure! Service was also spot on and she gave great recommendations! We would definitely give them another shot next time we're in Solvang! I really want to check out the Pastrami Smoked Salmon Sandwich and the Nannie's Frozen Lime Pie next time! Check them out!

Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She gave us a couple of recommendations off the menu and boy, she was not wrong. My kiddos ordered their own pizzas, both were so delicious. The cheese on the pepperoni, wow! The mushrooms on the other, delish! Both straight out of the oven, baked perfectly. The crust had the ideal crunch on the outside and soft baked texture of the dough on the inside. I recommend either one of these pizzas..delicious! I ordered the Prime Rib Dip...amazing! The flavors- you taste it all! The prime rib just melts in your mouth, this was absolutely delicious. This dish comes with fries which were well seasoned and hot. I highly recommend. My husband ordered a breakfast dish that came with a side of bacon and house potatoes. Fries were perfectly seasoned and golden crisp on the outside with a nice soft texture on the inside. So good. Restaurant gets busy especially in the evening. If you want to dine alfresco, they offer patio seating with a bonus of live music...The ambiance in the patio is amazing, have your camera on standby. Our server Hally greeted us the moment we sat down. I asked her for an appetizer recommendation and she immediately named three with no hesitation, no hedging, no "everything's good here." We landed on the calamari and the Truffle Gnocchi, and that gnocchi was the surprise of the night. Not a lot of places do gnocchi at all, much less one built this well. Spinach dumplings, grilled artichokes, and a black truffle cream sauce that stayed balanced instead of heavy. Exquisite is not close. We both ordered the filet mignon. Perfectly cooked and tender enough to cut with a fork. Hally checked on us the whole night without ever being pushy or hovering. She was warm, welcoming, and completely professional; the kind of server who clearly takes pride in her work and is a real asset to the ownership team. This meal alone would bring us back to Solvang.

I walked into Copenhagen Sausage Garden in Solvang totally expecting a standard German beer garden…read moresetup. Total miscalibration on my part. Turns out, it's distinctly Danish--and yeah, that actually matters. They serve traditional Danish Rød Pølse alongside a bunch of family-recipe sausages, so you can throw your standard German bratwurst baseline right out the window. The flavor profiles are completely different. If you're going, getting the sausage sampler is the only correct experimental design. You get multiple formulations in the same operating environment for immediate side-by-side comparison. It lets you actually isolate the variables--salt, smoke, spice, fat content, casing snap. Some are super mild, others pack a huge punch. And that massive condiment station? It basically acts as a post-processing module. You're taking the same sausage substrate, altering the surface chemistry with mustard and kraut, and getting a totally different output. But honestly, the best part of this place requires zero scientific analysis: cold beer, hot meat, big bites, repeat. Grabbing a giant pint from their huge tap list and claiming a spot at the outdoor communal tables is just a damn good time. Oh, and definitely integrate the giant pretzel into your system. Salt + starch + beer is a mature technology that's already survived centuries of European process validation. No further optimization required--don't mess with perfection. Don't come here looking for fine dining; evaluating it that way completely misses the point. Come for the sampler, the massive pretzels, and the laid-back Solvang patio vibes. As a platform for eating sausage, drinking beer, and hanging out, it operates at peak efficiency. Dr. C Field Process Validation Sausage Formulation: Multi-Variable Beer Selection: High Throughput German Reference Standard: Rejected Operator Satisfaction: Above Specification

We kept it simple and ordered the Bratwurst, which is one of their most popular sausages. It came on a bun and took around 10 minutes to come out. The sausage itself was decent, with a peppery, smoky flavor that I enjoyed, especially paired with the spicy brown mustard. Unfortunately, the bun was extremely dry and really took away from it for me. I eventually just removed the bun and enjoyed the sausage on its own, which made it much better. Overall, I'm glad I tried Copenhagen Sausage Garden since it's part of the experience when visiting the area, but the food itself wasn't particularly memorable to me. I think it's worth checking out once if you're curious, but I personally wouldn't come back specifically for it.

Unfortunately, nearly every part of the evening missed the mark. I sat outside at an uncomfortable table and waited at least 20 minutes before I was even acknowledged by a server. That set the tone for the entire night. Service remained extremely limited, and I barely saw my waiter throughout the meal. As for the food, I ordered several of the dishes I'd heard so much about: the cucumber salad, black cod, and garlic noodles. None lived up to the hype. The cucumber salad had very little flavor. The black cod was mediocre at best and certainly wasn't the standout dish I expected. And the garlic noodles were perhaps the biggest disappointment. They reminded me of the simple butter noodles you make for kids--and frankly, I've made better butter noodles at home. The one bright spot was the bread pudding, which my waiter recommended. It was genuinely delicious and easily the best thing I ate all evening. But one good dessert couldn't save the experience. Between the painfully inattentive service, uncomfortable outdoor seating, and mediocre food, the entire evening was a disappointment. I'm especially frustrated that, with only one dinner to enjoy while visiting the area, I chose to spend it here. Maybe I caught The Gathering Table on a particularly bad night, but based on my experience, I simply don't understand the hype.
