Original job was done and completed on time, price was comparable to other quotes we received. The problem started when we received heavy rain after the roof was replaced and leaks started. The team came out to inspect the work, made a repair that did not work. Roof continued to leak and now the company advised me to hire someone else to complete the repair, they claim the leaks are a coincidence and not related to their work. Steve Powers told me it was unfortunate I was experiencing leaks, but it was misguided to blame the company's work. Now our insurance company is having to get involved. read more

We found shingles in front of our house and realized our roof had experienced significant damage in a recent storm. We reached out to Pearson, and met with Derrick, as well as two other roofing companies. All of the companies encouraged us to reach out to our insurance, which we did. However, I'm glad we met with Derrick first, since our meeting assured us it was a no brainer to select Pearson when talking to our insurance company. Their pricing was reasonable, their warranty was exceptional, and these reviews gave us confidence in the choice. Absolutely no regrets. Pearson delivered all the supplies on one day and then came back with a large team of workers the next day and had the entire roof done in a day. I'm still a bit shocked by their speed. Getting quotes for roofing is always stressful and there ends up being such a crazy range of prices. First ones to eliminate are those that want to see your insurance adjuster's estimate to 'help'. Second ones to eliminate are those who promise to get back to you on this or that question and never do. I had neither of those issues with Pearson. Steve promptly responded to my questions and kept me informed when weather caused a one day delay. He provided his professional opinion and was open to discussions on alternatives. The team was here at sunup and worked tirelessly leaving the yard spotless. The neighbor on the one side that I had warned about the potential noise etc. wondered when I got it done! It's so easy to see why Roofing by Stacy Pearson is certified as one of Owens Corning's "Preferred Contractors". They were by far the easiest contractor we've worked with all year. We've had to use them for both a roof replacement (covered by insurance) and roof repairs (not covered by insurance). PROPOSAL STAGE - Despite a detailed proposal, I had many questions about material choices and alternatives. Not only was the estimator - Nick - not rebuffed, he clearly explained why he preferred any given option over another. - Nick is a total roofing nerd. He invites questions, readily chews on my hypothetical scenarios, and is up-to-date on the industry. My favorite contractors enjoy that they're constantly learning something new with every job. - I felt zero pressure to rush and sign a contract. When we couldn't picture how different shingle color patterns would look beside the brick and siding, Nick dropped off physical samples so that we could make comparisons in real life. Over and beyond! CONSTRUCTION - The crew was large and efficient. For a large roof with steep slopes, the crew took only two full days. We didn't even have to be home. - There was someone constantly clearing away trash and scanning for nails. - Nobody looked exhausted. It's disheartening to me when crews are too small and burnt out. They seemed to have a high degree of mutual respect with both the company's owner and estimator. POST-CONSTRUCTION - Nick proactively paused and asked what we thought of the finished roof, which is so inviting to raise any concerns. I never felt like I was wasting his time. - Because we already had a primary point of contact, I was pleasantly surprised to run into the owner - Stacy Pearson - outside after job completion. He was unobtrusively reviewing the roof, and we had a pleasant chat. FEEDBACK - Tar dripped here and there across our white siding. Luckily we had spare paint for one of the crew members to do a bit of second-floor touch-ups afterwards, and I touched up drips along the first floor. It would be nice if there was a barrier to prevent anything from grazing the sides of the house on the way down. - The weight of the shingles and materials seemingly killed off a portion of our lawn. Next time, I'd request that heavy materials always be on the driveway. WARRANTY - They did all the work to register our warranty and send us the confirmation with the "Owens Corning Roofing Product Warranty registration number". - Given that a proper warranty covers so many years, at least pick a contractor that has already proven that they can stay in business for decades. LOYALTY / ROOF REPAIRS - We needed last-minute small (less than 3ft x 3ft) repairs on two different occasions due to an inept decking contractor, and Roofing by Stacy Pearson came out immediately to assess the damage. They are on top of prioritizing their customers right before Austin's random rainstorms. That kind of assurance is simply invaluable. read more

This is a super belated review as I have used Roofing by Stacy Pearson twice, not sure why I never posted a review before. First off, to be clear, I really only do reviews when the service is very good to excellent and I usually do not write negative reviews, rather I just don't leave a review, so bear that in mind. The service team and everyone individual I have spoken with or worked with in person are polite, professional, knowledgable and have a commitment to quality customer service. There has never been any pressure to fix or repair anything, just straight forward reports, and recommendations. I have had them out to investigate a leak in the roof, and they were prompt in getting in touch with me, showed up on time on the schedule date and time, provided a detailed analysis including pictures, and provided a quote for my review. The work was scheduled and the repairs made in time, and inspected after everything was complete. Zip ahead in time two years and the Great Freeze of Texas. I scheduled them to come out to investigate potential water damage from the storm, check on a plumbing vent that may have been raised after a water heater repair, and inspect my roof for overall health. In spite of the heavy demand on their services due to the storm, Steve was able to provide some by phone analysis at the beginning of the week, and be on site for an inspection later in the week after the rain had passed. He repaired the raised plumbing vent ( he even noticed it from the street ), and provided a full inspection report and recommendations. I am super happy with this company, with Steve, Stacy and Samantha and the service they provide. That is why I am a repeat customer. I would recommend Steve without any hesitation, he is a professional's professional. I can also attest to the fact that coincidentally when talking about roofs and such with some neighbors, they all recommended Roofing by Stacy Pearson. My highest recommendation! This review is long overdue. My situation was, had the roof inspected by our homeowners insurance, they totaled it and gave us a year to get it replaced. Well, I did what any red blood American would do, I procrastinated and then remembered about 6 days before the 1 year mark hit I needed to get the roof done. So, I submitted to Yelp for quotes (Saturday), everyone said they could come out Monday, except Derrick Lehman with Roofing By Stacy Pearson called me and said he would be in the area that day and could swing by to take a look. He showed up at the time he told me he would and right off the bat I trusted him, I have always been a good judge of character. I handed him our insurance papers and he checked everything out and said he could get it done for the amount, maybe a little less. Was no need to wait until Monday for others, I went with Derrick. Oh, by the way, this had to be completed and invoiced by Wednesday because of my procrastination. Monday, materials delivered, by Wednesday they were done. Amazing work, amazing communication, amazing customer service and a great experience. With teh storms that just hit I wanted to make sure I wrote this long overdue review because Derrick and the company deserve it. I have never enjoyed a rainstorm in our house. We have had a leak at the joint of our chimney and a room addition since we bought the house an embarrassingly long time ago. My husband and I took it in turns to monitor the bucket. No joke. We had someone come to the door a few years ago and ask if we'd be interested in a free estimate for a new roof. I said, sure, why not? and then my heart fell to my feet when he said it would cost about 20k. Umm. Teacher here. Living in Austin. Need I say more? The bucket-use continued, and I gave up thinking we would ever have a house that didn't leak. I didn't even bother trying because there was no way we could manage that cost. Finally, I said enough and started calling for quotes. It was either fix the roof or continue to slowly go insane from the water torture. Stacy was the second of three quotes. (BTW, none of which came close to the 20k bull that I had been told by the random guy at the door.) Steve, Stacy's lead estimator, came out right on time and measured everything and evaluated the chimney situation (that whoever did the flashing job had had some interesting ideas about chimney flashing), and gave me a very reasonable quote for a new roof and the chimney repairs. They were not the cheapest, but I felt like they were the ones to do the job RIGHT and considering the work that needed to be done I felt it was worth it. We scheduled them, and the team showed up right on time and within an hour, our old roof was stripped and repairs were underway. They were done with everything (cleanup and all) by the time I came home from work. Steve sent me pictures of the progress and repairs, and now I have a BEAUTIFUL new roof with ridge vents and a home that doesn't leak. They even thoughtfully scheduled a pretty good little rainstorm 48 hours later to demonstrate the new lack of indoor water features. read more

I was worried with all the storms and hail we had the winter if 21, I called my insurance assuming I would need a new roof. While I admittedly don't know much about hail damage, I assumed all parties would suggest a new roof outside my insurance company. Steve called to set my appointment and showed up when he said he would. After getting on the roof and inspecting carefully, he informed me that I didn't need a new roof at this time. By being prompt, not only did he save me a $4300 deductible, he also saved me from filing an official claim on my roof as I was able to cancel the appointment with the insurance company prior to them coming out. I'm very satisfied with my experience with Roofing by Stacy Pearson. Steve came out to do the initial inspection and helpfully explained the process and the improvements they would make to the existing roof. The project manager Nick did an awesome job during and after the installation, and the head roofer Chilo was quite impressive. I realize I'm particular about details and had many more questions/concerns than the normal customer, and Nick went above and beyond to answer them and make sure everything was done well. My biggest concern was an area of a previous leak, and Nick and Chilo, the head roofer, implemented a solution that was better than that devised by the professional waterproofer I hired a couple years ago. I was really impressed with the level of detail and expertise on that point. I am new to Austin, Texas, and was surprised to find how difficult getting a roof on a house can be! State Farm refused to replace the hail and storm-damaged roof, and most representatives from other roofing companies refused to even look at it when they heard my insurance company was State Farm. One company that did give me a quote said they couldn't possibly get to it for at least 6 months. However, Steve was just superb, from beginning to end. He spent as much time with me as needed, answering my questions, and educating me about roofs and their problems in this part of the country. He pointed out some damage the squirrels were doing--which I had noticed but hadn't yet figured out who was to blame--and suggested what to do to keep them off my roof. It took me about 6 months to make a decision, and Steve came by at my request several times over that period of time to take pictures and answer questions. He had some ideas about doing a better job than the existing roof, which was put on by the contractor at the time when it was built. I relied on Steve's judgment for shingle color and it was the right choice. When it came time to re-roof, he and his crew were easy to schedule. They worked fast but did an excellent job, cleaned up better than any roofers I've had previously (in another state), and were professional to deal with. Best of all, the shingles were an upgrade, but the price was better than any of the other quotes I received! A rental property of mine got caught up in the whole hail storm that whipped through central austin (tarrytown and pemberton) area last year. Prior to starting the bidding process, I got several references from coworkers who had used this company in the past. Given how completely and utterly sketchy roofers can be when serious storms come through the area, I was more than worried about going with someone with no track record. I got a bid from a couple of companies including Stacy Pearson. When I chose them and sent their bid over to my insurance adjuster, he actually said it was one of the most informative bids he'd ever got. They detailed out just about everything they were going to do to the house. This house was rather old (100 years or so) and had several layers of roofing over a wood shingle original roof. The whole mess had to be scraped off and redecked with new roofing material put on the main house as well as the garage. The roof itself looks really good now that they were done. They did a pretty good job on cleanup... I think after a day or two picking up bits and pieces here and there whenever I saw them was all taht was needed. not bad with that many shingles. They did a pretty good job cleaning up the shingle mess in the attic too. There was some left... however, I wouldnt expect it to be "detailed." I would go with them again if I had another composition roof replaced. I have also given their name to several friends to use them to get bids on their roofing. read more

This company was recommended to me by two co-workers who had had great experiences. I got 5 estimates for the comp shingle roof on my single-family home, which had been damaged by hail and windstorms. Stacy Pearson's estimate was right in the middle in terms of dollars. But given those recommendations I felt more comfortable going with a known quantity than the cheapest. Our experience with Stacy Pearson was great, confirming those previous recommendations I'd received. My questions about the work were answered patiently, the work was done in a day and a half and the roof looks terrific. Although it's a small point, I'd also like to add that the team cleaned up the property very well after they finished---not something I have always experienced with contractors. Other than one little shaving of a shingle and the top of one roofing nail, I have not found any junk or debris around the house. My opinion is, if they were efficent about that detail, they paid attention to the other details, too. read more
