I learned he had moved onto another office closer to his home. Smile Doctors's COVID protocol is top notch. When you arrive, you can call or text that you've arrived. They greet you at the door and ask the necessary questions, take your temperature and provide hand sanitizer. Everyone is so kind and friendly! They welcomed me like I had been going here for years. Great thing about getting my mold is that they didn't have to do that nasty, pasty mold that makes you want to barf! They use a wand and take a virtual mold of your mouth. Technology at its finest! The process for getting my retainer a week later was just as quick and easy. I truly enjoy this office, the staff and Dr. Farrah! I wish I had gotten my braces done here for my second round of braces!

All of the pricing seemed to be pretty standard, so it really fell to our impressions of the doctors and staff, and Dr. Farrah edged out the others. Dr. Farrah seemed to do a good job with a conservative treatment plan, tracking one of our son's development for a few years before recommending a plan. One thing I didn't love is feeling somewhat pressured to choose Invisalign for our middle schooler, which we did not feel would be a good fit. Once we decided on braces, though, everything was fine. Visits are always very efficient and the staff is nice. It feels like staff are valued here and treated well. I also like the little free snacks and ice cream freezer in the waiting room. One other small downside is when my kids have a broken bracket or a problem, it does seem quite difficult to get them in quickly. But other than that, we've been happy and everything seems on schedule for their braces.

From Pam in the front office to both Dr. Burk's and Melanie, I could have never imagined I would have such a wonderful experience. I've said before that Dr. Burk is a dentist that embraces the conservative route when it comes to his advice on dental procedures--the less is more approach. You always feel that the choice is ultimately yours and never feel that you are pushed to get extraneous procedures, as I have experienced elsewhere. I want to give an example of what a typical appointment is like with Dr. Burk: Today, as he helped my 9 year old through his first tooth extraction, he came out to the waiting room to talk us through it first. My son was understandably nervous, but Dr. Burk just gently walked us through it, then asked several times throughout the procedure what questions we had. His pain management technique is honestly the best ever -- a few quick little shots of local anesthetic, and you're numb. My son hardly felt anything. Five minutes into the procedure, he plunked the extracted tooth down on the tray, and my son didn't even realize what had happened. I know from previous experience that Dr. Burk's staff will text us in the coming days to check in and make sure everything is going well. Upon checking out, our hygienist told me that because Dr. Burk had ordered an additional x-ray beyond the one our orthodonist had initially provided, they weren't going to charge us for it. This is just another example of how honest this dentist is. Sadly, I don't know how common that is today, but I know for sure that as long as he is in practice, he's going to be our dentist.

It's now over 2 weeks trying to get them to fix an error they made and I am growing increasingly frustrated, as we are going into a holiday weekend and I still don't have the prescription I NEED.

I agree the checkin process is quick and easy, you can fill out new patient forms online. My X-rays and services needed were explained during my first visit. I signed two treatment plans for me and my daughter and scheduled follow up appointments to start getting our dental work completed. However today when I arrived at the office and paid about $350 it was not for what I was originally quoted. $204 was supposed to be for a cleaning and two upper fillings on my left and right. I was told I was only scheduled for one so I was very much confused about what I had just paid for. I had to show the treatment plan I signed and was told that is not what is in my chart. Okay thank you for reviewing the information. After having mine and my daughter's work done I am then told our prices have changed because they were using an outdated fee schedule....which I was asked to sign the new ones. These were not small price adjustments like $20/$30 the quotes were off by $70-$150. That doesn't make any sense that you cannot even provide me the correct quote so how do I even trust that this "new" fee schedule is correct. I have never had this happen. If anything I'm usually paying over and ending up with a credit. It would have been better to show me the different fee schedules and how my treatment plans were calculated wrong versus showing me to different plans with very different amounts. If you go here I would definitely have them double check your quotes and billing.

Today the braces are coming off! My "child" right now is truly getting his braces taken off, teeth…read morecleaned up, etc and THEN we are coming back later to get his retainers fitted. Then....we are done We had three options: non-removable (Bottom, I don't remember about Top) and removable in two styles: first, traditional plastic and metal; second, completely clear-basically Invisalign but for retainers. The last option MUST be removed each and every time you even drink or you may color it...the other one should be removed too, but.... My first child went with completely removable, "traditional style" retainers. That let's her clean her teeth easily-especially after having braces! Almost 6 years after getting the braces off, retainers are faithfully worn as directed-amazing-and teeth are wonderful. Today's child is getting the removable clear style-this will be new to me. We've already discussed the rules (no eating drinking etc with the retainers in!) so hopefully this style will be successful, too. We have been blessed to be with Dr Gates for two kids-from the moment you walk in, to leaving the door we always feel welcome. I'll be very thankful to end this trip (the ONLY WAY it will start again is if I or my husband get braces to redo failings from our youth!) All staff members helped this mom navigate through a different process (than the one she remembered from.....a long time ago ) and by HS, straight smiles and happy clients abounded. Child 2 had "more complicated teeth" so a spreader occurred early in elementary school....then we waited...and waited...for all adult teeth to come in and braces to get going. In late middle school we started, and things are moving fast! This time I have different questions (the practice GREW and we are interacting with a few new ppl) and once again Dr Gates and his staff are shining through. Now, insurance thinks braces should cost about $1500 or so....I'll say that 1) both of my kids cost more, and 2)Dr Gates costs more in general. But if for some reason we needed a 3rd set of braces (ack) we wouldn't go anywhere else. They operate like a well-oiled machine, and their patience with my children is unmatched. The orthodontist was direct and to the point with what she needed from my daughter, though not at all unkind. The office is light and bright. They offer blankets if you're cold, and beverages if you need a drink. They have a few fun devices at the front for kids to play. Another notable thing is that the staff is wonderfully diverse. Now as an adult, I wear a retainer on the top and bottom of my teeth to keep my teeth aligned and also to prevent me from damaging them at night if I grind. Anyways, I needed to replace my retainer so I made appointments with a few orthodontic clinics in my area to see who had the best deal. This clinic had the best deal so far - I would definitely recommend coming here if you are looking to have a retainer made! The clinic is also really high tech. Most orthodontic clinics take a mold of your teeth with some sort of putty material and there is a risk of the mold not turning out correctly. This clinic uses a machine that works with a 3D printer to create a perfect mold of your teeth. There is not really a lot of room for human error like the molds because the machine basically takes a ton of pictures of your teeth. When I got my retainers in they were a PERFECT FIT. I've had multiple retainers made over the course of about 15 years and these fit me the best. Everyone here is also very professional and I didn't feel like I was just another number. One thing I really liked was that the orthodontist was very involved and had good bedside manner. He spoke to me in the beginning and over the phone to make sure I was happy with my retainers - most places don't do that. I would recommend going here and will continue to go here if I need a replacement on my retainers or have any other orthodontic needs.
