Trusting the office, I immediately scheduled the procedure. What was never disclosed to me was that the dentist who prepared the crown would be out of the office for almost the entire month of June and was apparently the ONLY dentist allowed to place the permanent crown once it arrived. While in Dallas caring for my mother after her stroke, my temporary crown broke. I had to drive 3.5 hours back to Austin just to have another temporary crown placed -- despite the fact that my permanent crown was already in the office and ready. I was told another dentist could not place it because the original dentist was unavailable. I then had to immediately drive back to Dallas after that Saturday appointment, only for the second temporary crown to break the very next day. The office had provided an "extra" temporary crown in case that happened, but when I attempted to use it, it did not fit properly. I called the office first thing Monday morning. Today is Wednesday, and I still have not received a call back from the office manager. I now have to make yet another 3.5-hour drive back to Austin just to get another temporary crown, while being told the dentist cannot see me until next week -- even though my permanent crown is sitting there ready. What has been most upsetting is the complete lack of compassion and flexibility from the office manager. I explained multiple times that I am in Dallas helping care for my mother after a stroke, yet there seemed to be no concern whatsoever for the hardship this situation has caused. Dental work is stressful enough without having to deal with poor communication, lack of transparency, repeated temporary crown failures, and an office that seems unwilling to work with patients facing difficult personal circumstances.

I think the prices are reasonable , and when there are procedures predicted or needed for your teeth in the future, they give a detailed breakdown of what it will cost you. There are also 0% financing options. I absolutely recommend Dr. Chau and her staff at Enamel Dentistry at Parmer Park.

When I sat in the exam chair expecting to discuss my oral health, she immediately commented on my clothing (which is not what I came in there for). I was simply wearing a lavender athleisure outfit, long pants long sleeve top and a hat. She mentioned how everything was purple and then she said "I'm glad your shoes are at least neutral." Ma'am. Why are you emotionally affected (she said she was "glad") by other women's clothing, especially when they are dressed modestly and not harming anyone? I can wear lavender or ANY color from head to toe if I wanted to and that shouldn't be a problem at all. What does this have to do with the health of my teeth? It was not in a complimentary way it was judgmental and rude for NO REASON. I responded by saying "they're just clothes" and she said something really strange to me after that. She literally responded saying "Yea, BUT....." and proceeded to say something completely irrelevant and rude. I was so confused. I came to check on my health and she is talking about the clothing/appearance of her customers in an unkind way. The rest of the staff was very nice, but I do not recommend this dentist to anyone. It's really unfortunate that I have to write this but no one deserves a medical professional to make unnecessary and rude comments on the clothing and appearance of their customers. Unprofessional and unacceptable. If you attend this office, expect the dentist to make snide rude remarks about your clothing. One concerning issue involved my husband's treatment plan. Before his procedure, a technician reviewed the estimated costs and explained what his bill would be if he proceeded with treatment. My husband specifically discussed which services he did not want performed. However, the tech went ahead with the treatment plan and did not inform the front desk staff or dentist of this and still authorizing the original treatment plan that included items he had declined. As a result, he received an unexpected bill. The office acknowledged the error and advised that he would receive a refund. Despite multiple follow-up attempts on my part, four months have passed and we have still not received it. Staff should be properly trained to ensure patients fully understand the procedures being authorized, associated costs, and that any concerns or declined treatments are communicated to the dentist. Another issue involves a newly implemented credit card processing fee. During one visit, I paid for a fluoride treatment, as it has never been covered by my insurance. No one informed me of the new credit card fee, yet I was charged it. At my next appointment the following week, I mentioned that I had not been told about the fee during my previous visit. The front desk employee responded by stating that I had not paid anything at that previous appointment. When I explained that I had paid for fluoride treatment, she insisted in a changed rude tone that I had not made any payments. Rather than continue arguing with a payment and treatment I did receive, I dropped the issue. However, I found it both frustrating and unprofessional to be charged an additional fee without prior notification and then have my concerns rudely dismissed. My most recent visit was particularly disappointing. During handheld X-rays, I requested a thyroid shield. My hygienist responded that the amount of radiation from the X-rays was very small and that the shield was unnecessary. I acknowledged that I understood the exposure was minimal but explained that I would still prefer to use the shield. He then asked whether I suffered from anxiety, I said no. He then said that he was confused and thought I wanted a weight shield for comfort that maybe I suffer from anxiety. When I reiterated that I simply preferred to protect my thyroid, he stated that "I should go home and do some research because the shield is not necessary. As someone who works in healthcare, I understand that modern dental X-rays involve very low levels of radiation exposure. However, low exposure is not the same as zero exposure, and I simply wanted the option to use the protective shield that was readily available. I found the comments about anxiety and being told to "do research" to be unnecessary, dismissive, and unprofessional. A simple explanation followed by honoring my request would have been the appropriate response. It is unfortunate because I genuinely like Dr. Dillon and have had positive experiences with him. However, the repeated issues with communication, customer service, and staff professionalism has made me seriously reconsider and have chosen to take my business elsewhere.
