First, I highly recommend Dr. Bodapoti! My oral surgery went smoothly. The oral sedation worked perfectly. I don't remember anything specific about my surgery or anything I said during it. That is my kind of dental experience! Later that evening Dr. Bodapoti texted me to check on how I was doing and gave me some advice about treating potential congestion. She has a good chair-side manner. She explained what my teeth required and different options for addressing it. I had three options (awesome!). I was able to return to my general dentist and discuss this because she spoke with him about her findings. I have a long-term dental plan with him, so this was important. This resulted in my choice of services with Dr. Bodapoti. Her staff stayed in contact with me before my procedures. No one acted annoyed when I would call with *another* question. The staff at Texas Periodontists in North Austin made me feel at ease as soon as I walked into the their office. I went in for a dental deep cleaning and the Dental Assistants as well as Dr.Gupta made me feel comfortable through out the entire visit and procedure. Texas Perio are an amazing team from front of office to the surgical team and Doctors in the back. A close friend of mine recently moved to Austin recently and I sent them to Texas Perio at the recommendation of a colleague who lives there. My friend needed an implant taken care of and Texas Perio saved the day. My experience with BODAPATI AND HER OFFICE STAFF was the WORST of any and all medical and dental visits I've ever had in my life. I'm 52 years old and was born with "bad teeth". I have LIVED in the dentist's seat over the past 40 years. NEVER HAVE I EXPERIENCED THE UNPROFESSIONALISM AND LACK OF PATIENT CARE AS I FOUND AT THE OFFICE OF "doctor" BODAPATI. These positive reviews for BODAPATI ARE HIGHLY SUSPECT. Perhaps her staff masks patients up with nitrous oxide before they are able to understand the CHAOTIC CLOWN SHOW that is the office where BODAPATI'S surgical procedures are performed. BODAPATI OVERBOOKS because she only works 2 days per week; she jams as many clients into these two days as she can. THE OFFICE IS A MADHOUSE on surgery day. Her office staff is literally RUNNING AROUND THE OFFICE. Her assistants shout into each room as they breathlessly run by, "Are you ok"?, never waiting for an answer from the patient. Not a good look. The CIRCUS IN BODAPATI'S OFFICE is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL and stressful directly prior to surgery. On the day of surgery, WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE CHAIR BEING PREPPED FOR SURGERY---BODAPATI CHANGED MY SURGICAL PLAN to one MUCH MORE INVASIVE. When I perked up and questioned this HUGE CHANGE, her medical assistant IMMEDIATELY SMASHED THE NITROUS MASK ON MY FACE and BODAPATI BECAME VERY IRRITATED WITH MY QUESTIONS. No sweet smiles from BODAPATI like at the consultation! I didn't want to be put under without understanding why there was this enormous change. HER ASSISTANT WAS RELENTLESS, insisting that the mask "would help". WOULD HELP WHAT???? GETTING ME TO STOP ASKING QUESTIONS?? After the surgery, my lower face was BLACK AND BLUE (for two weeks). I was concerned about the extensive bruising, as I had not read anything about bruising in my research. During the 2 week recovery---I called BODAPATI'S office several times with questions and concerns, yet, THERE WAS NO REPLY. I left messages; THERE WERE NO RETURNED CALLS. I also emailed the office during this time, THERE WERE NO REPLIES. I did receive a call, however, AFTER they had returned from the holidays. I HAVE NEVER HAD A DOCTOR NEGLECT THEIR DUTIES AND NEGLECT THEIR PATIENT AFTER SURGERY. What is interesting about this scenario is that a patient cannot even schedule with this "doctor" until paying FIRST. I was hassled---called and emailed INCESSANTLY---about PAYING because the "schedule fills up quickly". . . Of course it does. BODAPATI only works 2 days per week. AND SHE WANTS THAT MONEY UP FRONT. You think she cares about you??? Think again. I have NEVER found a doctor who REQUIRES PAYMENT PRIOR TO SCHEDULING AN APPOINTMENT. Again, you will not be able to schedule an appointment without PAYING FIRST. My surgery was on December 21, so I'm sure the "doctor" and her office staff were enjoying their "winter holidays" and HAD NO TIME TO DEAL WITH A PATIENT WHO JUST HAD SURGERY. When I attempted to refer to the "post operative instructions", I was unable to read it because the copy was so OLD AND FADED, that it was NOT READABLE. In conclusion, BODAPATI was a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PERSON AT THE CONSULTATION. Don't let this snake FOOL YOU--because once surgery day rolls around you will find a "doctor" who ONLY SEES YOU AS DOLLAR BILLS. read more

I am one of the people who was born with bad teeth, so I have visited a lot of dentists, periodontists, etc, through the years. I have been with Dr. Sree Bodapati for a lot of years for very serious dental work: root canals, gum disease, extractions and lately several implants. Her professionalism is the highest, her knowledge of the subject superior, her personality is so warm and compassionate. I had some very serious cases, which Dr. Sree Bodapati with her knowledge, skills and experience resolved them successfully and painless! Every time I called for emergency cases even in non-working hours, I was able to talk directly with the doctor and get the proper directions for relief until we met! I never had any kind of complications after surgery, and as I mentioned before, I had a lot. She takes ownership and responsibility for all procedures, and she is extremely knowledgeable and experienced! To show a part of her kindness and compassion I will refer to a recent event, which was really neither her responsibility nor her obligation to even act upon. Three years ago, I had successfully completed the operation and the process of three implants with Dr. Bodapati. I had decided, then to finish the job by putting the crowns for these implants not with Dr. Bodapati in Austin but taking the risk by going to Europe to do it. To doctor in Europe decided to do an extended bridge of 4-teeth, instead of three individual crowns, as Dr. Bodapati had suggested. Two weeks ago, on a Saturday evening that bridge failed and completely went off, during a meal! The whole 'European' bridge left in my mouth metal parts which bothered painfully my tongue. I called the office and soon I spoke with Dr. Bodapati, who directed me to relief. She arranged to see me at her office next morning. When I went there, she removed all the broken parts from my mouth, cleaned up the area and resealed it safely, until I go back to Europe to put the correct crowns on. I am making a big point here! She was not obligated by any rule, or law or ethics to help me since the failure was not on her part, but she did help me. She treated me as a person, a human being who was suffering. She offered her help to relive my pain and discomfort, just because she cared! No money involved!! She saw me as a human in pain and not as a pocket full of money! Dr.Gupta and staff is spectacular!!!! I realize it's a culture he promotes, and unfortunately it's a skill set not everyone has. I'm a solidified antidentite and have been since my early years. This dental environment is something different and I will continue to receive treatment and follow ups. Oral Hygiene is serious business and for too long I would only visit a dentist when unbearable pain was at my door. They've literally changed my outlook on dental visits. I was really disappointed by the cold, indifferent and rude chairside manner of dr Bodhipati. She made odd remarks to me, didn't give me a follow up or treatment plan. I asked her how I could stop, slow down or maybe even reverse gum recession and she said nothing. I asked for a dentist referral as I am dissai She also made weird remarks about not wanting to treat insurance patients to me while I was on the chair and in discomfort. There is something wrong with her, she shouldn't treat patients. I asked for a final bill and nothing. I will have to report this office to the Texas Insurance Department. When people come to you in pain and discomfort it is unacceptable to mistreat them or make them feel unwelcome. I deeply regret having selected her as a provider for a procedure. I will never go to them again and will tell anyone that asks what an awful experience I had. She's the worst! read more

It's not that I had bad dental hygiene growing up. It's that I had many OTHER bad habits. By age 4, I was up to a pot of coffee a day. In kindergarten, I'd polish off an entire tray of Rice Krispie treats in one sitting. When I couldn't find my toothbrush, I used steel wool from the tool chest. But this review isn't about me; it's about Dr. Bodapati, and her efforts in helping me reverse some of the damage life's adventures can cause inside our mouths. Specifically, I had lower-jaw gum recession and a failed, perpetually-infected molar with a 20-year old crown & root canal. The gum grafts are like magic, and my implant is in progress. Having read the negative reviews about Dr. Bodapati's "bedside manner," I'm compelled to defend what I found as incredibly comforting--a strong sense of professional confidence and a culture of professionals who respect each other (and try to have fun among the chaos). I will choose a straight-shooting industry influencer over being coddled by an incompetent every day of the week. If you choose the same, come prepared to do YOUR part as well. Follow pre-and post-procedure instructions to the letter, and you'll no doubt be as happy as I am. read more

This was the best dental experience I've ever had. Before going here I had a tooth extracted elsewhere and the memory and thought of it made me cry with the anxiety. Texas Periodontics was able to extract a tooth and implant my dental screws with me having no anxiety and not having to be fully anesthetize. This is worth it's weight in gold. Dr. Podapati explains the procedure to each of her patients, quickly anesthetizes them and gets quickly to work. I had work done on both the left and right sides of my maxillary. I had a difficult situation - aligners (essentially braces) triggered resorption on a bottom tooth. The worse outcome when you go to an orthodontist and the treatment to straighten your teeth result in you losing a tooth. A sobering situation, so when I got the bad news from a periodontist I went searching for a second opinion, which led me to Texas Periodontists. It has been a long journey and they were very patient (I had a multitude of questions..) with me throughout the process: tooth removal, bone and gum grafts and ultimately, a dental implant. It is oft-said by many well-Intentioned friends and/or relatives that, "My Doctor is considered one of the best, if not the best. You must go to she or he." It's cliched at this point as most every patient thinks that theirs is the best. It's like 3 sure things in life, death, taxes and my 'Doctor is the best.' In this case, it's NOT a cliche; it's absolutely germain in Dr. Sree Bodapati's case. She is extremely personable, extremely talented and genuinely cares. Let me repeat that, she GENUINELY CARES. I was sick and tired of bridges that broke and crowns that chipped or simply didn't last a reasonable period of time, so I decided to opt for Implants. She was highly recommended by my general Dentist and now I know why. Let me cite a small example. I had some bone loss that required a bone graft (sounds worse than it is. It's quite easy to tolerate). When it came time to assess whether or not the graft took/solidified so we could move on to the next step, she said and I'm paraphrasing, "I'm 90 percent sure the area is ready for the implanted crowns, but I want to be totally sure." So I agreed to have more of a graft so that she would be totally comfortable in her expectations. Sure, it meant waiting awhile for implantation of the new crowns, but right than and there I was fine taking the best advice from the best Periodontist I have ever known. Oh and though the additional graft took more of her time, there was no extra fee. Too, if I needed to be seen right away, there was always time to fit me in albeit she was quite busy. One other thing. I was scheduled for a procedure which was a month away. I wanted/needed to move it up. She saw the distress I was in to have a bridge removed much before Appointment time. She was very booked surgically. Sowhat did she do? She came in on her OFF DAY. Who does that? Not many, to be sure. I'd be remiss if I did not mention her terrific staff. Ever competent and organized and always with a caring and legitimate smile on their faces as though they just met me for the first time. Their billing policies were clear and concise, leaving nothing up in the air. Terrific staffs are very hard to find, but Dr. Bodapati hit the lottery, the jackpot, with each and every staff member. I'm extremely happy with the professional, ethical and caring service I have received at Texas Periodontists. I have complex restorative issues and Dr. Gupta has always been responsive, careful to explain his recommendations and conservative about my care, which I greatly appreciate. I saw other providers who struck me as more interested in a quick fix and/or more costly options. I felt that Dr. Gupta had my long-term health in mind when he proposed a treatment plan. He has always given me his full attention and takes as much time as needed to answer any questions I have had. His assistants are competent and kind. In addition, the office is run efficiently and the staff is very helpful about going over bills and arranging appointments.
