Food: 4 Service: 4 Ambiance: 4 We weren't really sure what to expect from a restaurant at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, but we're so glad we made reservations and decided to experience Peaks Restaurant. We came on a weekend afternoon, and while it wasn't crazy busy, having reservations helped us get seated quickly. Every seat in the house in the main dining area had a beautiful view, which makes the whole experience feel pretty special. Dining at 8,500 feet with those views is definitely unique and so special. The service was actually very good. We were helped right away, our waters were consistently refilled, plates were cleared promptly, checked up on and the food came out quickly. Diego and his team were amazing! After hiking, we were pretty hungry, so we ordered the pesto/brie flatbread, which was absolutely delicious. We also had the Smoked Gouda Pulled Pork Mac & Cheese and the Boursin Cheese Steak Sandwich. Surprisingly (in the best way), both were very tasty and satisfying. Honestly, who would expect such delicious food up in the mountains? If ever take the tram up and are craving warm, comforting food with a great view, I highly recommend stopping here. Four stars all the way.

While up there, we dined at the Peaks Restaurant. The menu was small but had a decent selection for everyone. There are other options in the area, but I wanted to sit down and enjoy a meal. Views: Absolutely amazing, as always. Food: Unfortunately, the food and the restaurant itself fell short in terms of presentation, taste, and seasoning. My burger, for example, was awful. I ordered it medium, but it came out extremely well done. It was expensive and lacked flavor. Service: The waiter was friendly and cool, which helped make the experience a bit better. Overall, it's a mixed experience: the view is unbeatable, but the food didn't live up to expectations.

After arriving on the tram we couldn't wait to eat. We walked into the Peaks restaurant and put our name down. Wait time was about 20-30 minutes. The views were immaculate, overlooking the mountains with beautiful scenic sights. The food however fell flat.... Like served cold flat. No seasoning flat. For the price you're paying and the look of fine dining the food and quality was anything but fine dining. The fries were cold, the steak sandwich had no seasoning I had to ask for jalapeños and hot sauce to add some type of seasoning to make it edible. I'll definitely be back to the National park but won't be dining at Peaks. It unfortunately was a let down.

Started the evening with a magical tram ride up to Peaks Restaurant which set the tone for an unforgettable night. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted, reservation confirmed and seated at our table. The festive decorations inside created a warm and inviting atmosphere for celebrating my husband's 50th birthday. Our server was extremely helpful with recommendations, including non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers, salads && main dishes. Jumping into our meal we decided on sharing the appetizer of Charred Shrimp and the Iceberg Wedge Salad that were both flavorful and PERFECT!! I decided to go bold and against the server's suggestion with choosing the Half Roasted Duck and ummmm yummmm it was absolutelyyy rich, tender && full of flavor - glad I picked this dish!! My hubby went with the Colorado Rack of Lamb that was cooked to perfection with all the fixins: spinach, mashed potatoes and topped with rosemary demi glaze - deLISH!! We finished off the evening with two incredible desserts - the Berry Brulee (this is a MUST when we go out) and for the birthday guy chocolate of course picking the Chocolate Caramel Crunch Cake. These were both decadent and the perfect sweet ending to celebrate my hubby!! Happy happy 50th birthday to many more adventures and thank you Peak for a wonderful dining experience!! See you at the top of the tram next time!!

After taking the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway up... we enjoyed a light lunch at Peaks restaurant with a beautiful view. Excellent customer service!

Peak Performance: A High-Altitude Anniversary to Remember We visited Peaks to celebrate our 29th anniversary, and it truly felt like a festive, "top of the world" experience. To reach the restaurant, you have to take the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. As someone with a significant fear of heights, I found the ascent a little frightening, but the staff operating the tram were incredible--knowledgeable, welcoming, and very entertaining, which helped calm the nerves. Since we had dinner reservations and it was already dark by the time we headed up, the views were limited on the way, but the arrival at the top was seamless. The photography staff at the summit were also friendly and added to the welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant itself is stunning. It's decorated to make you feel as though you are sitting right in the middle of a forest, with large boulders and trees surrounding the dining area. A massive glass wall offers picturesque views of the valley below, which were made even more festive by the beautiful Christmas tree and holiday lights. One tip for future travelers: it gets quite chilly on the mountain, so bring a jacket! Our only regret was not arriving earlier in the day to enjoy the views by daylight and hike around the San Jacinto State Park. The service was the highlight of the evening. We arrived early and enjoyed a drink in the bar area, where the service was great. Our waiter, Jonny, was absolutely wonderful and attentive throughout the night. He even surprised us with a "Happy Anniversary" message alongside fresh strawberries and ice cream, which was such a thoughtful touch. The food was very tasty. Having had a late lunch, we opted to share the Ribeye steak dinner. It came with crisp, delicious asparagus and roasted baby potatoes. The steak itself was a bit thinner than we anticipated, which unfortunately led to it being slightly overcooked despite our request for medium-rare. However, we paired it with the Mediterranean bruschetta and strawberry baby greens, both of which were excellent. Overall, it was a beautiful and memorable way to celebrate 29 years. Between Jonny's service and the unique mountain-top setting, we highly recommend it!

After traveling to Mount San Jacinto state park on the aerial tram and doing a short hike, I decided to enjoy lunch at Peaks. I was alone and quickly seated at a seat with an amazing view of the desert below. My waitress was attentive and help with with deciding on my order. I tried the following: Mezcatini (5/5; delicious and came with candied hibiscus flowers, which were super tasty and inventive! Hibiscus is one of my favorite flavors so I love that they had a mezcal based drink) and wild mushroom ravioli (5/5; filling and delicious! The sauce was amazing and perfectly seasoned, there were a generous number of ravioli that were full of mushrooms and cheese. Overall, really really good and a great final meal of my Palm Springs trip.) I will definitely be back to Peaks the next time I'm in town.

Great service. Smiles all around, it's nice. But nothing fancy. Menu and food execution could be better though. Not like you get tons of options at the top of a mountain top anyways. So we have reached the top and we got two choices only for enjoying a meal, well three if you bring your own food, which I don't know what the process is behind that. So option one is Pines cafe which is exactly what everyone mentions, cafeteria inspired meals. Hot fast and ready, extremely low quality. Then there is Peaks Restaurant that boasts an amazing view with also, mediocre food. I'll be honest after glancing at the cafeteria at Pines and our food at Peaks I said to myself there isn't much difference. Food looked beyond sub par at both locations but here we are at Peaks. Dining at a view. So after paying 32 dollars for 4 beers at the Peaks bar I figured it was time to sit and dine! Seating didn't take long either about a 10 minute wait. Walking to our table gave me some insight of how the food is going to be. Not so pumped anymore, I tell you that. People come here with medium to high expectations but the execution of food is medium to low. I mean nothing super fancy. Like bar food to be exact. "Grilled" chicken sandwich far from grilled. I feel like restaurants shouldn't put grilled if it's not actually grilled. Thin cut, more bread than actual meat, bacon was SOFT. Just a sorry rendition of food. The chicken was also pan seared or griddle seared whatever you wanna call it. No grill streaks, no char, lacking flavor IMO. Edible but nothing fancy. Fries were lame, and the cheese on the chicken was glued on the meat as if it sat for a bit. Sad. The smoked Gouda pulled pork Mac n cheese. What a mouthful. Needed a bit more life if you asked me. Not enough "pulled pork". It was obviously it was just baked in the oven till soft and slathered with bbq sauce. I mean pork is like 3 dollars a pound, it wouldn't hurt to put more meat on top. Although it was alright but compared to other photos. This just wasn't it. Onions cut too thick, no where near crispy. "Chef" or cook was lazy to cut the onions thin for garnish, mandolins don't cost much. Just not eye catching or something I would be proud of serving a guest. Oh can't forget that sorry pickle. Soft, wilted, and a bit warm. Depressing. In my opinion this experience can be better. I think if the eatery relied less on the view and more on the final product of the food experience would be phenomenal but I totally get it. They aren't after any Michelin stars. Just another cash grab business.

This is a little restraunt at the peak. Be ready to spend about $40 per person. That was with half of us drinking water. The food was good. They did not ask how we wanted the kids burger so the cooked it extremely well done. We sent the hockey puck back. It was very busy for lunch. Make reservations or expect to wait about a half hour to be seated. Staff was very polite and the restraunt was clean. Walk the trails, work up an appetite, then chow down.

After riding up the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, we went to Peaks Restaurant inside of Mountain Station. Their lunch menu consists of American food. We all got waters, but I noticed that ours had a distinct filtered taste. I almost got the steak sandwich but ended up ordering smoked gouda pulled pork mac and cheese ($24) after the waiter said he preferred that dish. The cavatappi pasta had a great al dente texture. The gouda and cheddar made each bite of mac really tasty. I enjoyed the little crispy onions that went over the pulled pork. It mixed well with the mac's flavor. The pulled pork made the dish even more filling. I had to share some of my food as I couldn't finish it on my own. While the dishes were pricy, I enjoyed my mac and cheese a lot. I'm glad I didn't get the steak sandwich as the meat wasn't really to my liking. Also, there wasn't a wait when we arrived to the restaurant. The indoor environment gets cold, so I had to put my jacket on. You can exit out of the restaurant toward an observation deck looking over the Colorado Desert.

This is one of the restaurants atop the mountains after we rode the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. It was well worth it. That view alone while dining is phenomenal!! The servers and service were excellent and our server made an effort in surprising us with a birthday ice cream after our meal! We ordered two different types of burgers and they were both fantastic, flavorful and delicious!! My boyfriend and I were both so happy with everything!

As we arrived to the mountains, Peaks Restaurant opened at 11am. We were so excited to have lunch overlooking the spectacular views of mountains, Palm Springs, and forest. It was an unforgettable experience to dine in the mountains. Host seated us right away. Wendy politely introduced herself as our server and quickly we placed our orders in. We ordered espresso in the clouds as our cocktails, hummus, burger with fries, and steak plate. Was a bit disappointed in the food. Steak was extremely cold and burger was super dry and sweet. Cocktail and hummus were the only goods we enjoyed. Wendy our server was the best. She went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied. With her professionalism made our expectations better. We were impressed by Wendy's service. Thanks to her we ended up with a pleasant experience and definitely will return in the future.

Always a pleasure to visit Peaks! Easy to find when you step up the tramway, you can take an elevator or up a flight of beautiful nature viewing stairs up to the parks restaurant and bar area. We were promptly sat at a beautiful table on the second level on the far end of the restaurant that overlooked the entire valley. The service was extraordinary. The food was definitely homemade and very tasty. Considering the location and everything, the food was amazing. They had a great wine selection and a menu with something for everybody. Thank you to the server and the owner of the restaurant, Jon, we can't wait to come back as this was for a birthday lunch. But honestly, you don't need a reason or a holiday to go up there. It's always an exciting day at the top of the Palm Springs Tramway.

Ask the Community - Peaks Restaurant

On Open Table, it indicates we should arrive 60-90 minutes prior to our reservation. Does that mean to arrive at the top of the mountain that far in advance or just to allow that much time for parking and taking the tram up?

I think it's time for you to park and take the tram up. If you go during the holidays/peak time the wait can be up to 3 hours for a tram. I waited 2 hrs last time for a tram.

Is peak restaurant located at the top or is it at the lower part near visitor center?

    At the top.

Are they open these days? What are their hours on the weekends?

As of Jun 2022: On weekends, they close at 8PM and between 3-5 PM for transition to dinner service.

    Do they have Sunday Brunch?

Do they have a band that play there on weekends?

From the moment we walked into Fugghedabout, we were stunned. The space is dark, sultry, lightly dimmed, and incredibly chic, something you'd never expect here. It has a very grown up, intimate vibe (21+ only), perfect for date night or a night out with friends. We were lucky enough to visit on a night with live music (they have it Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays), and it completely set the mood. Even though it wasn't very busy, the energy was wonderful and the music was excellent. Service was top notch. Meghan was fantastic, friendly, attentive, accommodating, and so helpful throughout the meal. Faith, the owner, also stopped by several times to check on us, which earned major points. Such a sweet touch and much appreciated. Now the food... wow. We started with the seared scallop special topped with caviar, and it was outstanding, perfectly cooked, with the caviar adding just the right touch of saltiness. Honestly, we wanted to order more. The hot goat cheese with hot honey appetizer was delicious and so comforting. Definitely get extra bread, you'll want it. Since it was Taco Tuesday, we tried the taco trio with chicken, steak, and shrimp. The steak and shrimp were standouts. The chicken was slightly dry, but overall we really enjoyed them. And the biggest surprise of the night was the shrimp and sausage skillet. Absolutely incredible. So flavorful and rich, and again we needed more bread to soak up every bit of that delicious sauce. We also ordered the crème brûlée for dessert, which was good. The sugar topping was slightly thick, and I'll admit I'm a bit of a dessert snob, so while we enjoyed it, the meal itself was really the shining star of the night. I'm already dreaming about my next visit. I was genuinely impressed by everything, service, ambiance, food, and live music. This place is a whole vibe. Five stars all the way. Highly recommend for anyone looking for amazing food in a sultry, intimate setting. I've already recommended it to several friends. Thank you Meghan and Faith for such a great night.
