Buttermilk donut, raspberry jelly filled and old fashioned glazed
    Nina L.

Wow! I'm from the East Coast and love to walk so felt like we stuck out like sore thumbs on our morning walk to Peacock Donuts. Worth the side eyes and confused motorists for these donuts. Yes they have a parking lot and other customers drive, you do you. Let's get to the donuts- like lots of CA donut shops I've visited, this is pretty no frills but all heart. Delicious buttermilk donut with glaze (last one so much better popular). Glazed, raspberry donut has my heart/ tastes like a sweet pillow. Excellent iced Vietnamese coffee. Bottled beverages available. Friendly owner. Solid donut, worth checking out!

Need your morning coffee before work? This is my favorite and most reliable place to go. They open pretty early at 5AM and have the largest and freshest assortment of buttermilk donuts ready. This is a mom and pop shop, running it all for over 20 years. They are the sweetest and somehow always make my mornings brighter. Their donut prices are reasonable and I always get their Viet Coffee to wake me up!

Very authentic, small business w such a kind owner and amazingly yummy donuts! He was super friendly and easy to chat with, we will for sure come back more often just to see him and enjoy donuts/coffee. They've been open for over 36 years and you can tell they have perfected everything on the menu. The Vietnamese coffee is the best I've ever had too! Def recommend

Small mom and pop shop. I've been passing by this store and wanted to try their iced viet coffee. I must say it's really good since I'd rather have it less sweetened. It's just perfect! With a pairing of ham and cheese with jalapeno croissant, it's just the best.

Peacock donuts--if you like churros, the crullers are a must-get! (The fancy looking one in the back)

This is where I had my first taste of crullers and now I can't get enoughof them. If you've never had a cruller, they taste like soft churros. If you're a Disneyland fan amd missing those churros, go pick up some crullers! I promise you you won't be disappointed! Anyway, 5 stars to Peacock for having freshly made crullers! Get them before they sell out (which they did on the day of the picture I added T^T)

    Donut hole and apple fritter

Great traditional donut shop! I appreciate that they close later than more donut shops, especially on days where I crave a post work sweet. My first time here, I came an hour before closing and they still had a variety of options available still. I opted for an apple fritter, it was light with a perfectly glazed exterior and a decent amount of apple pieces. The employee also threw in a little donut hole for free! Which was so nice, not sure if it was because they were closing soon, or he was just being nice, but it was kind of him to do so regardless. Besides donuts, They sell ice cream and viet coffee as well.

Large bread crumb doughnut that is extremely filling!

I've been coming here since my time in high school, and every experience feels like something bites away a piece of the service out. I remember the man behind the counter was friendly and welcoming to the kid in me, but now barely words are uttered. The decor hasn't changed, and it seems as cluttered and simplistic as it was decades ago. This donut shop operates in a stand-alone building with plenty of typical in-door and outdoor seating. Parking is perhaps the most attractive quality of this joint, as an enormous private lot will hold more cars than you'll ever see customers here. The second admirable quality would definitely pinpoint the affordable prices here without the baggage of the trendy, artisan doughnuts popping everywhere. There's a large assortment of doughnuts from your typical cream-filled to the classic fares. Each piece is sized from big to filling, but most items are mostly fraught with too much dough and too little filling. The taste here is a hit-or-miss, always cold and frequently stale. My sweet tooth is all too familiarly vulnerable to a doughnut craze, but there are certainly more competitive doughnut shops offering much tastier doughnuts in the area. Not friendly at all. The donuts were so-so. The coffee was fine. This wouldn't be high on my list of places to get morning sustenance.

I wanted to get some treats for my work's ping pong tournament event. What perfect timing! I pre-ordered a variety of donuts plus some apple fritters. 8 Glazed Apple Fritters 8 Glazed Twists 8 Chocolate Twists 8 Chocolate Rounds 8 Cinnamon Crumbles 1 Coconut, 1 Double Trouble, 1 Dream Cream, 1 Sugar Twist 3 Dozens Glazed Donut Holes I parked on the street near the front of the shop. Donuts are displayed behind the glass window. Ordering is done through a small window opening. There is no customer entrance inside the shop. Upon arrival, Jonathan, the owner, offered me a warm welcome. He was very friendly and nice. He shared his humble beginnings on how Monarch Donuts began. Thank you Jonathan for sharing your loving story about your mom and grandmother. I was the only person in line which worked out for me. A few customers arrived shortly after me. All donuts and apple fritters were carefully boxed. I appreciate the special attention and care in the packaging. Thanks! Overall donuts were good, but dough was a bit dense for my taste though. Apple fritters were a great hit! Huge in size. Light in crisp. Tons of apples. Not super sweet which I appreciate it. However, a few of them fell apart when picking them up from the box. I actually don't know how much each donut and apple fritter costs. I didn't ask which was fine. Total bill was about $90+ which wasn't bad at all especially for all the tasty goodness. Highly recommend! Love to return for more tasty apple fritters and cinnamon crumbles. From what I was informed, donuts and all may be sold out before 9:00 AM most of the time so do get here early before they run out. Happy Donut Always!

It's the way they treat people. You can tell there's real heart behind it. The owner is super genuine and you can see how much he cares, not just about the food but about people. That kind of energy sticks with you. It's a small place, early hours, and they sell out fast, but it makes sense. Everything is fresh and made with intention. Honestly it just feels different coming here. It's one of those spots that reminds you it's not always about the food, it's about how people make you feel too.

(Great prices compared to Starbucks down the street btw). There's a lot of options and I've enjoyed everything I've had here so far. The coffee can be caffeinated or decaf. The creamers are stored to the side with ice packs. There are other drinks in a fridge and snack options to the side of the register. The blueberry donut is really good. I've also enjoyed their custard filled donut which was full of custard. If you order a ham and cheese croissant, they cut it in half and heat it up for you, which is a nice service. The cheese inside is really good. The interior is pretty small, but there's some seats if you want to sit down and have your breakfast. We always get ours to go. On our most recent visit they were having a fundraiser for their friend that perished in the Monterey Park shooting. So glad to have this staple in the neighborhood and to have a small business to support! Highly recommended little breakfast spot :)

I wanted something special that couldnt be found anywhere else which is also very picture-worthy. Luckily other reviews and pictures of donuts from this shop led me to going in person to check out the goods and placing a huge order. I was firstly looking at the online menu, and I couldnt find that giant donut, so i called to ask for help and clarify which one it was so i can get them. The person who answered the phone at the time was super helpful and even saved me a texas donut when i mentioned i was coming by in the next few minutes. When i arrived, i knew it was going to be special for the people im sharing this with. When ordering online, the one i wanted was actually marked as "Out of Stock" (Texas Chocolate), so i made a note that i wanted a different donut using another donut that was still available to order (Texas Glzed). When I received my 14 boxes, it was the correct one that I wanted substituted. They were nicely organized and it presented well. Theyre not stingy with the toppings either. You really get a good value out of it. The staff was really friendly too (why not? it smells wonderful inside). Definitely two thumbs up for me especially with large orders.
