Service Tech came out 5/19/19 because AC wasn't cooling. I was told I needed a new compressor & was charged $84 for the service call. The very next day, someone came to my house & quoted $7,600 for a new compressor. Note that Peachtree had already done the Spring "system heating/cooling tune up service" on 3/19/19 at which time all systems were working properly. Before investing in a new unit, I called another company to check my AC. As it turns out, I did NOT need a new compressor. This technician installed the disconnect plug, reset the circuit breaker & my AC immediately clicked on!! I have no idea how Peachtree Service has wound up with so many 5 Star reviews. What I do know is that my service was deplorable. I have already prepaid for the "Plus Maintenance" service plan. I will be requesting a refund for the Fall "heating/cooling tuneup" because I will no longer do business with Peachtree Service Experts. read more

I've used this company for many years but no longer. Last year, they sent a salesman along with their service tech to try to convince my spouse to lease a new A/C system. Why would you send a salesman onto a service call? Then, after telling them not just no, but hell no, they sent another salesman during our next service appoint. I explained that I wouldn't be paying 20k over eight years to LEASE a small 2 ton a/c system, when I could BUY one for under 6k. At the end of the service call The tech advised us we needed a new capacitor for a cost of $499.00 and wanted several hundred dollars to replace my electrostatic filter (I did have a lot of home improvements being done and it was choked with dust) but I was very suspicious of the cost, so I declined. He put in a regular filter instead and left. I just had another company come out and check my system and advised them about the capacitor supposedly needing to be replaced. They checked and there was nothing wrong with my system including the capacitor except that the Peachtree service tech put the paper filter in wrong. read more

I've used Peachtree Service Experts for 2 completely new HVAC installs. The first install went well. The 2nd install is a problem. They charged me 1,000.00 for custom returns. Their tech made a note on the installation documents that they'd be returning to install all returns. I felt the job wasn't complete until this was done. After 30 days, I phoned to check on the returns. I was told the sales rep - Joe Wilson, would return my call. That call never came. I paid 2500.00 in good faith, until the job was complete. I waited another 15 or so days, and realized there's still no correspondence from PSE. I called back. I was more assertive and persistent this time, and Joe Wilson did call back after I phoned multiple times. Joe revealed the "custom" returns were never ordered, and that the person who was supposed to order them has been fired. I stated that I've subsequently found the returns I need online for a much lower cost. I asked that they, deduct the 1,000.00 I'd been quoted for "custom" returns, and send an updated itemized invoice, which I'd not previously received. Joe's response was, "oh, no, it was only 300.00 for the returns". Albeit, I have paperwork that suggests otherwise. It became clear that Joe was going to stick to his story. I decided to go along with it, knowing that it'd be necessary to pursue things through legal channels after the fact. PSE sent a new invoice, which reflected a 300.00 credit for the returns they failed to order, and a 200.00 credit for the service they've never provided. However, they were unable/unwilling to provide an itemized invoice which exhibited cost by item. It was simply a list with a final price. They clearly didn't have the original paperwork, on which we originally agreed; however, I do. I phoned their accounting dept, conveyed my experience and paid the invoice in full. The accounting dept seemed to understand and they were empathetic. The lady stated that she'd have a manager phone me, ASAP. This was 2 weeks ago. A manager hasn't called, nor will they. I am currently weighing options of small claims court, or hiring an attorney to pursue breach of contract. I'm not certain a dispute over 500.00 -700.00 is worth it. Though, this is largely a matter of principle. When it comes to PSE, buyer beware. read more

Called and set an appointment to replace my water heater. They came out and charged me $99 to try to sell me a Water Heater subscription at $28/mo. Said they couldn't replace it and the only option was their monthly "advantage service" option. My old water heater lasted 15 years. So basically they wanted me to pay $5000 for a water heater that only costs $700. A complete waste of my time. read more

Don't call these guys. I wish I hadn't. After spending $800 on repairs that may not have been needed our HVAC is so loud we cannot sleep. Have had techs come out 3 times. First time he replace the defrost board after I repeatedly told him we need the Zone control in the attic needed to be replaced. He ignored me and replaced the defrost board for $545, HVAC still didn't work. Then he said Oh the zone control does need to be replaced $245. Called him back because it is so loud now we cannot sleep and he told me that's just normal noise and I'm not use to it. Another tech came out and they said basically the whole unit has to be replaced. He was guessing since he couldn't hear the noise. Called this morning at 4:45am to try to get a tech to come out and actually listen to the noise since it only happens when its really cold in the morning. Got a call back at 7:30am saying someone could be here between 10-12. So I spent $800 and now we can't stand to have the heat on and have to call someone else. Save your money. read more

A technician was scheduled to come out one day last week between 2pm-4pm. At 3:30, I got a phone call stating that they were running about an hour late. After 1.5 hours and no technician, I called them and was told I was "next on the list." After almost another 2 hours I called back and was told the exact same thing. After waiting for over 7 hours total (until 9:30pm!), I finally told them to cancel my appointment and I would find another company to do business with. I understand that things can happen that cause disruption in schedule, etc.; however, the customer service was terrible. I was given the run-around every time I called, and the only time the company contacted me was the 1 original phone call to inform me they were running an hour late. Posting what I posted to the PSE site just now after a visit. Just had our last "service call" from PSE. I used quotations because using the term "service call" for what happens when someone comes out from PSE is a joke. Every year I tell my husband NOT to bring PSE out, and this year is it. No more. PSE installed our air conditioning unit nine years ago. One year after that, the unit quit working. PSE gave us a "deal" (another joke) on fixing it. After a routine "service call" a year or so ago from PSE, I noticed water leaking from the ceiling. Turns out the water was leaking because the hoses or pipes (installed by PSE) were not connected properly. PSE send another tech out to fix, LOL, but never reimbursed us for the damage to our ceiling. Against my wishes and better judgement, the husband "took advantage" (I'm a regular comedian today) of the $69 service special. What did he get for this $69, you ask? An attempt to upsell us several pounds of freon because we're low. No actual work other than spraying the outside unit with a garden hose took place. I read this: An AC doesn't "use up" refrigerant. So you should never need to recharge your air conditioner with more Freon--unless there's a leak. I asked my husband if the guy discussed fixing a leak. He told me the guy said he would have to fill up with freon (minimum five pounds) to see if there even was a leak. What? I am beyond disgusted at this point. I actually want to put a stop payment on the check, but my husband says let it go. Fine. I'm also letting PSE go permanently. I do not trust you. I think you're at best scammers and at worst actually damaging property to ensure a future malfunction. My husband said he watched the guy the whole time, but he wasn't with him in the attic. If ANYTHING happens related to the air conditioner after this "service call," I'm calling a lawyer. read more

Update. A real technician came out without the truck and uniform and had my air on in less than 10 minutes. Turns out all I needed was to replace the fan capacitor. You should be embarrassed to call yourselves experts. An expert can diagnose a problem and fix it without trying to sell a new unit! Who gives you guys high ratings? My tech was not good at all. Our HVAC unit was making a weird noise, so I decided to call Peachtree Service Experts since they were the installers of the unit in our home. The person who responded to my call scheduled me for the next day between the hours of 4-6 but said that he would try to get someone out that day, and I would receive a call back if they could accommodate that. I didn't receive a call back that day, but since my appointment was confirmed for the next day, it was no big deal. The next day at 4:30, I hadn't received a call from anyone from this company. So I decide to call the office. After I was placed on hold for 15 minutes, I was told that they did not have me down for that time, but they could send someone out between 6 pm and 8:40. I accepted the new window, because I really wasn't comfortable turning the AC on with it making such a weird sound. Suffice it to say, I haven't received a call from them yet. If they cant get something as simple as an appointment scheduled properly, I definitely wont trust them with my AC unit. read more

My husband and I called Service Experts after receiving a timely mailer (first mistake). One of our units wasn't cooling as well as at did in the past and both needed to be serviced. Our units are old, and we were also doing a test run to find a company we like to replace both units (and to take care of them in the future). The tech came and serviced both units in addition to repairing the sluggish a/c unit. He was pleasant and the price seemed reasonable. We thought that we had found our HVAC company! 2 weeks later, the sluggish unit is not running, and the company does not stand behind its 100% satisfaction guarantee. I most certainly am not satisfied! After speaking with a customer service representative, the company agreed to waive a service fee to check out the problem unit. Despite this agreement, the "after hours" tech named Rick called, told me that he did not have time to confirm that our service fee had been waived, and said that "he comes when he wants," not around 9:00 as promised by the company representative. When I insisted that I had been told otherwise and that he needed to spend some time to double check this, he hung up. Rick will never do work in my home. He called back awhile later and left a voicemail explaining how my statements "were not true." Good riddance, Service Experts. read more

YOUR SERVICE WAS ABSOLUTElY TERRIBLE! You need to utilize this comment as a training opportunity for better customer service from your personnel. Between your agent that came to the house, the supervisor I spoke to as well as the supervisor's manager that I also asked to speak to all had nonchalant attitudes about resolving my the AC issue. Your agent proposed a rate of $310 to replace a condenser and when I asked why the cost was that high given that I was looking up the cost of parts and labor with other companies while waiting for your supervisor to get on the phone and later that supervisor's manager that I also requested to speak to because I drove all the way from my office to avail myself for this visit. The part your agent was saying needs to be replaced was nowhere near the ballpark of what other companies were quoting that I was talking to while on hold waiting for ur manager to get on the phone on my other phone. Your Technician and Manager all seemed to have the same message that your company just charges a flat rate of whatever they choose which in my opinion does not make sense when you were looking for competitive rates in your area. If that's the business model employed by your company then please let your customers know before you inconvenience their time and money. You should conduct business and check across-the-board to make sure your rates make sense and is something that's relatively appropriate in order to avoid wasting customers' time. Needless to say I actually got the issue replaced by a company that took 15 minutes to get to the same location once your people left after I asked him to leave and they charged me only $195 total and replaced the same part your company was going to replace and my issue is resolved. Once the other company fixed the issue, I called your office back when I was on the way back to my office and I asked them to specifically note my account that your company should NEVER come to that residence and if anyone accidentally calls you needing to get any work done at that residence , you should politely decline and state that in your notes that I insisted you should add, I as the owner of the residence specifically requested that your company NEVER service that property . I will also be submitting this report further because Business ethics were certainly not applied in this case. I usually don't post negative reviews or reviews in general but this information is always critically significant for people who are desperate to have their issues resolved (which I was not) and will succumb to saying 'yes' to paying con-artistry business rates out of desperation just because the 'problem-fixer' is at your driveway/front door. read more

I am always pleased with their service, they are prompt, on time and work around my schedule. Their techs are knowledgeable. My only gripe, and why I didn't give them 5 stars, is that their prices reflect their size and aren't as competitive as a local small outfit. While you may be able to get a better deal with a local, small company, I suspect the quality of service would be less, which is why I stick with Service Experts. I don't mind paying more to get better service and peace of mind. Still, a deeper discount for repeat business would be welcome :) read more

This outfit sends a out a $50. coupon that says in bold large letters "accept this gift card to use toward any heating or air conditioning product or service we offer." Then in the very small lettering at the bottom they says the coupon excludes filter and Plus Service Plans. The service plan is what I wanted to use the coupon for. I even called them before they came out to do the service and said I had this coupon, could I use it and I was told yes. On the day of the service after I had my bill I was told I could not. I called the manager to complain and all he would say was that he was sorry. It is irritating that they say ANY product or service on the coupon, but this is a lie. read more

After the technician was working on one of the units for a while he asked me "do you want me to look at the other unit? You're at $374 right now." I'm like why didn't you tell me before you did any work that it would be $374? He says "you're right I apologize" and still got out the credit card machine and charged $374. We called for a technician but clearly they sent us a sales rep. The first day he came he wanted us to tell him what was wrong with the units. When my mom could tell him more than it doesn't work he left and said he would come back when my dad was home. ??? The second day he came back (with a "supervisor"), he "look" at the units and said one was completed rusted out, two was leaking refrigerate and all three needed to be replace. He gave us an estimate of $30,000. Yes, that's correct, $30,000. To make a long story short, we got a second opinion, he vacuumed out the systems, recharged the refrigerates and checked for leaks. He found one small valve stem leak which he replace. We ended up paying only $500 and all units work fine. I would never recommend Peachtree Service Experts for repairs. read more

After having my NEW air conditioning and heating unit installed during a rather cool number of weeks and working long hours, I found the unit was really never cooling properly. My neighbor told me the unit never cut off. So after calling for service the tech told me that the unit had been wired incorrectly - wiring attached incorrectly to unit. After the tech spent considerable time in my attic and out side , I asked what was taking so long . Well, I was told the unit outside was frozen up and he was waiting for the ice to thaw . The tech corrected the problem and the unit is now working properly. When I contacted the service manager about replacing a 3 week old unit which had been improperly wired, I was told they would never replace this unit. Never would I recommend the group. I want everyone who is smart enough to read reviews to STAY AWAY from this company. They were very polite on the phone but that's where anything good ends. The technician shows up and hooks up his guages and advises that the Freon is low. He then tells me that they charge $294.00 per pound. I told him that he was absolutely insane and that he could leave. I am fully aware of the EPA restrictions on R22 Freon. However I am also aware of the current retail price. I called Lawson Heating and Air in Gainesville and they quoted $75.00 per pound. Another was at 100 dollars per pound. The technician then asked me how I would like to pay for the $99.00 service fee. I asked him to get his boss on the phone but he refused. I told him to have his owner call me and I would discuss the fee with him. No call. I did however get an invoice today from the Coward. I will be paying his invoice but only after posting this review everywhere I can. I refuse to pay a 1000% mark up for anything. Be aware that this business is BAD. I have exclusively used Peachtree Service Experts (PSE) for my AC maintenance contract since i purchased my newly built home 2 years ago. In summary, I have experienced a very low level of competency in their AC technicians and lack of concern for customers. About 1.5 months ago, a service tech (for annual/routine maintenance contract) told me that he broke his tool trying to remove the C&D refrigerant lock on my AC unit. He also said that he had never seen such a lock and that the original AC installer (from 2 years ago) must have put it on to deter other AC companies from servicing the AC unit. i found that strange since PSE had been the only company servicing the unit for past 2 yrs (since it was new) and they never had an issue removing it before. 2 weeks later my AC went out in the middle of summer with my 86 yr old parents living in the home. PSE came out and said they could not fix the AC since they could not remove one of the C&D locks to check the Freon. I pleaded with the tech to please call a manager or supervisor, and not leave my 86 yr old parents in 90 degree heat, but he said all supervisors/managers were on vacation and best he could do was leave a message for them to call me. No one called. After a few hours of waiting and also calling the PSE customer care center to ask to speak to a manager/supervisor about this situation, but again all on vacation, i called Reliable Heat/air. Reliable came out within an hour and fixed the AC by replacing the capacitor (note that the PSE service tech completely missed such diagnosis and said nothing he could do and just left!). Also, Reliable alerted/showed me immediately that the C&D lock had been broken by a prior service tech (which must be PSE since they have been the only company servicing the unit past 2 years/since new) and PSE would need to try to remove the lock safely or it would cost $1,000 to replace the entire part. Since then, i have spoken to multple PSE customer service employees and each said they would have a manager call me, but no one ever did. I have been very professional and respectful with all PSE employees, but the same courtesy has not been reciprocated: 1) One of the PSE employees called me Sweetie, sweetheart and honey within first 1 min of the call (and i kindly asked them to please call me by my name), 2) another promised if i sent an email of my issues/facts to him (which i did within an hour) he would have the general manager call me the next day, but no one called me - he even said he would call me back to confirm the GM called, but the customer care person did not call back, 3) i have spoken to many other customer care employees and 2 others disconnected the phone when I asked them to please give me the name of a manager or have a manager call me. I still have had no call from a manager, or any response to my lengthy email detailing the facts, including actions & dates. I have never before dealt with a company that has such poor customer service and incompetent service technicians (including completely misdiagnosing why the AC was not working and no concern for my 86 yr old parents - they just left and no one called, and the dishonor of not owning up to breaking a part on the AC unit as well....which still needs to be fixed!!). read more

However, a day after that, the man I was told was the service manager, Wayne, did not respond. Instead, he waited until I contacted the office *again* and finally answered saying he had called. He hadn't. The office took another two days to call for payment. In other words, they were great about answering here, trying to show a professionalism that does not exist in their office. I talked to the owner this morning, who assures me they don't operate this way. They do. At every step of the process, and from management to technicians, they will tell you one thing and not follow through. I would like to let everyone know about how this companies redacted to a service call a few weeks ago. My disabled seiner citizens called for a service call. They sent a service tech out, Hello told my father that someone had installed a part that was to big. Hello installed a new one (at the price of $ 300.00 plus) and told my father that the air was cooling. Hello left and then about 20 minutes later my dad noticed it was still very hot in his house. It was late so the next morning My dad called back. Someone different came out and told him his whole unit was burned up. This man gave dad a hand written estimates for a new heat pump unit and left.My father then called Ragsdale Heating and air. This companies came out give him a printed copy of an estimates that was much more business like and also much more affordable, he went with it. The next day Hello tried to get a refund on the part that Peachtree installed but sad to say. They are refusing to pay him back. Now I understanding he should pay them for a service call, but l think Peachtree should refund him for anything above and beyond what the service call should cost. read more

I don't have anything negative to say about their personnel or service. Everyone I ever dealt with on the phone or in person was very pleasant and most of the techs seemed competent and knowledgeable. My issue with them is their prices on repairs and new equipment quotes. I was recently quoted a possible range of $800 to $1200 to replace a furnace control board. I got quotes from two other companies for under $500. They also quoted me a "great deal" on a new ac and furnace unit for a little over $7000. I ended up getting it done, with slightly upgraded equipment and the same warranty, for $4000 by another established company. If money is no object to you then Peachtree is a decent option. Unfortunately I have to be way more budget conscious at this time. read more

I have been using Peachtree Service Experts for over 10 years. I have the Service Plus Agreement and have my Heating (fall) and AC (spring) checked for my three systems. It is easy to set up an appointment and they call before coming out at the scheduled time. The technicians are friendly, thorough, and professional. They show up on time and respect my home and keep it clean and clean up after their work. The technicians are usually very good about communicating the details of my HVAC systems. On occasion I have had a technician try to sell me every add on item they sell, but for the most part through the years they stick to the maintenance and offer some suggesttions without being pushy. Overall I am very satisfied with the service they provide and would recommend them for your HVAC needs. read more

I have used Peachtree Service Experts for nearly 20 years. Their predecessor installed my current HVAC system, and I have carried an annual maintenance contract with them for that same period. Earlier this year I noticed the insulation on my outside lines was brittle, cracked, and failing, but Peachtree Service Experts technicians never mentioned this during their semi-annual maintenance visits. I wrote Peachtree Service Experts about this. Twice. They never responded to my letters. I called Customer Service and explained my concerns. The Service Manager called me the next day and explained the replacement of the insulation on the outside lines was my responsibility (even though they installed the original equipment). Not part of my semi-annual maintenance. But they were willing to replace the insulation at a discounted cost. That is 20 years of customer loyalty. I am replacing the insulation myself. And looking for a new HVAC maintenance provider. read more
