I contacted John with Remodeling Work 123, after searching the web and reading reviews for various contractors. I needed to remodel my mom's bathroom. This involved converting the bathtub to a walk-in shower, replacing the old vanity, painting the walls, retiling the floor, replacing the mirror, light fixture, etc. John is very knowledgeable and was helpful in suggesting and adding special features that we discussed to make my mom new walk-in shower more accessible and elder friendly. (Installed grab bars, ensured that the entrance to the shower was a low as possible, recommended non-slip tiles, etc.) John also replaced a section of the drywall behind the old vanity that contained mold at no extra cost. John also picked up all the items that were needed, as I was unable to get them myself. He followed up with me with samples of certain items (Wall and Floor Tiles, etc.) and for others he sent pictures and videos of items from the various locations before purchasing them. This included the Vanity, the quartz vanity countertop, the light fixtures...everything. Overall, I am pleased with the results. John saved us when trying to remodel our daughter's condo in Decatur. We live in Birmingham AL and he managed many items for us as well as performing expert work we couldn't do because of the distance. We had him gut two bathrooms including plumbing, tile shower, paint, flooring, install vanity and faucet in both. The kitchen was worse. All new floor, cabinets, appliances, countertop, sink + faucet, paint and backsplash. We also had extensive drywall repair that needed to be done in many rooms. He responds immediately to text, provides fair pricing and is completely trustworthy. So glad to know John; I will definitely hire him again when we sell the unit in a couple years. read more

John is amazing! He did some work putting down some tile in my laundry room a few years back after my washer flooded my entire upstairs and created major damage to my downstairs. I asked John to come by and give me an estimate and not only that but he started work right away. It turned out amazing. Last week my toilet in my powder room broke and I tried to have my dad fix it but he couldn't . Again I called John and he saved us again! Finding a contractor can be difficult, finding a good one when you need one ASAP is even more trying. I had a master bath remodel that had seen a few contractors come and go. The last one attempted to do a good job but it left me with an almost completely finished bad tile job. This is where John comes in of 'Remodeling Work 123'. I was desperate to get this done and over, but now had to pay someone to demolish what was done and start completely over. I called John on a Saturday and he responded back to my call the same day. Considering he could've been busy or done working for the day he offered to my surprise to meet me at the location the same Saturday. I was beyond excited and impressed. He came around the time he said he would, discussed what needed to be done, and gave me a reasonable estimate for the bathroom. Then I mentioned to him I'd get back with him in a few days after some consideration. Once I decided to go with John, I was very pleased that I did. From start to finish, he worked well at communicating each step, any issues, times and days he'd be there, if he were running late etc. (this was great for my needs considering the remodel was being done on a home I didn't live in and wanted to be there as the work was being done). If I had any concerns John patiently addressed them. He was very neat and clean. He and his crew worked quietly and diligently. I must also add he let us know who any of his other crew were if/when they came and what they'd be doing for the day! What started out as a bathroom remodel nightmare that had gone on for months ended up being completed by John and his crew over about 3 weeks from start to finish (the bathroom was a smaller one about 4'x8' in. size so please don't make this the rule of thumb for any work you might choose for him to do), but nevertheless for this length of time I was extremely grateful and happy for! A big thanks to Daniel, Marco and the other crew too! It's hard to find kind hardworking people to do great work for you. If I could give zero stars, I would. I hired John with Remodeling Work 123, upon a recommendation from someone else who had their kitchen done. I'm sorry I did. He started out great, working on my project daily. That lasted for a few weeks and then he stopped coming. After contacting him several times, asking when he was coming back, John then started showing up once or twice a week, stating he needed more money to buy more supplies, stay for a couple hours and then leave. We ended up paying the full amount of the quote (stupid, I know), hoping to get the job done. At that point, that was when John started adding on additional costs. Be careful of the invoice. John kept it vague enough and not extremely detailed, so he could then say things were happening with the whole project that were not explicitly mentioned in the quote. The extra costs John kept adding on were going into the thousands. Three months later, we were not even halfway done. I would not recommend using this contractor. Not even for a simple job. Unless you have a lot of time and money. I now have to hire a plumber, electrician and handyman to finish the job. Which I just found out, I have to redo some of the plumbing because it was done incorrectly costing even more money. I am writing this review in an attempt to help at least one person save time, money and aggravation. read more

the quality of the work was good. what he quoted me as far as price was reasonable, I thought that since it was just a build up as I had already deconstructed the bathroom that the price would have been lower but it was still a fair price. The work that was quoted to me, that was included in the price was not all completed. There were a few items he didn't complete from the price quote but it was very minor and I finished myself. The work he did perform was very good and it came out very nice. I am big on being on time or being there when you tell me your going to be there and on the first day John was late 2 hours and was 30mins away from being told not to come but on day 2 he was very prompt and on time and when I found there was a couple of spots that needing fixing (grout was missing) John was very attentive and came the next day and didn't keep me waiting. Overall I'm happy with the work performed. read more
