This is very sad b/c normally this company is first rate. However, on 11/24 around 1100, I called & left a message w/ Josh (owner) about my 5-ton furnace making a "thumping" sound. It's currently unusable. Like his voicemail says, he called back in less than 45 minutes & said he would see if the schedule could be rearranged to get somebody out sooner than 1700 & call me back to let me know either way. The phone call never came. Service tech Dylan finally came around 1800 to tell me I needed a new blower fan & that'll be a $100, which is applied to the total cost of repair. He had me electronically sign all these forms saying that I agree to the repair & that a tech would be out tomorrow morning or he would be out late afternoon to install; neither happened. 11/25 I call Josh again & leave another message. No return call ever comes. No technician ever comes. Later that evening Daisy calls to see if I got the repair estimate. Time stamp on email is 1707. The email asks me if I "accept" estimate & if so to call & arrange for a tech to come out to install. I thought this was already handled when Dylan came. Now it's HAPPY THANKSGIVING & still no working furnace. Fortunately, it's a very mild day so my 86 year old mother won't be huddled in a corner w/ a space heater. If the company can somehow make this right, I'll be happy to update my review. However, the communication break downs are severe & need to be addressed. UPDATE 12/02/20 A week later & a different tech (Ben) the company got my furnace running again. When Ben came out he diagnosed the furnace needing additional parts. A transformer $368 & a popper fuse $129. As promised, in an effort to make things right the company waived the $368. Through it all the staff maintained a high level of professionalism, even when I got a little pissy. read more

May of 2018 Service 1st Pro installed a new HVAC +compressor. Over the next 4 years we had to call technicians for repair 14 times. In 1/2023, Josh consented to replace that unit with a new unit. Over those years we spent a couple thousand dollars on repairs, upgrades etc. I got tired of every time they came for a normal service, they were constantly trying to upsell this or that. Yesterday we had our new company come out because the unit was running 16 hrs a day and not reaching cooling goal. I told them the unit was only 3 years old and they proved to me that it was actually a builder grade 2017 unit. It was 6 years old when it was installed. Josh was a neighbor and friend and I defended him to neighbors who felt he wasn't above board. He professed to be a good Christain man. We are preparing to install a 4th unit in our 20 year old house, however by a company that guarantees their equipment and labor. read more

Fraudulent practices! Two times! I purchased an A/C unit from them approx 4-5 years ago. Within first year they told me they were no longer providing service for our area. One year ago they practically begged me to allow them to provide service again. They assured me they would not drop service this time. So I purchased a service warranty that prepaid for certain service checkups etc. They scheduled our first prepaid service for Monday of this week. Then they sent me a text Monday morning to cancel. When I called back today to reschedule my prepaid service, they told me once again they no longer provide service in my area. How infuriating and unprofessional! They took my money in advance and now deny service for those advanced payments and offer no solution. They refuse to refund my money. Might have to take this further. This is unacceptable. UPDATE 2/28 - I was promised to have my money returned, the check will "go out today" but here we are 3 weeks later, and no check and no promised return phone call when I called to check on it. UPDATE 4/20 - they have not returned my many calls, always lying and saying "Josh will call you right back" This guy portrays himself as a Christian. Ha. read more

Unbelievable.. Taking advantage of a desperate situation.. and 2 women who had no clue.. They said that our thermostat was fried due the recent storm and the company no longer made our product and we needed a new one that had to be rewired and replaced. Then they recommended duct cleaning for another huge amount.. (we do need that, however they said we had possible mold .. he said "If it looks like a duck..") then selling us another system for air purification.. total $8,000.. LUCKILY we told a friend about the cost and they said NO WAY!!!! you can get an entirely new system for cheaper than that.. (somehow this company got our phone number and pretended that they missed our call in the middle of the night, I had called the service # that our thermostat said to call, I didn't even leave a message) . I immediately stopped the service from proceeding to get a second opinion.. we called the company that actually installed our system and they came out and were able to fix the thermostat that they said was fried due to the storm!!!!!!!!!! Sadly, I cannot give a negative stars here. This company has fraudulent practices! I purchased two A/C units from them a little over a year ago. They only warranty the parts and want to change me $2K for labor on a system that more than likely wasn't installed correctly. They claim it's the manufacturer defect that they send the system with "gunk" in it and it breaks the whole system. Based on dealing in the past, I feel like this practice is a way to milk you out of money by overbilling on the labor. The whole time I have dealt with this company it felt like a bait in switch. They do not hold up to their promises and come back with a reason to charge more money all the time. I am up for renewal and the only way to get the labor at this price is to renew. They won't provide any discount despite the know issue. I got another estimate from a different company and the labor is only around $900. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FIND SOMEONE ELSE. UPDATE : I was supposed to have my unit fixed a weel ago, but they somehow ordered the wrong part and never bothered to call to reschedule or inform me of their error. I eventually called late that afternoon to be greeted by the owner Josh who is a real tool (and not the useful kind). He blamed it again on the manufacture and this time added the government ad who was to blame. I never once raised my voice or belittled anyone, I simply wanted to know why they never called and why everything they touch involves another repair and more labor hours? Right after I hung from talking to Josh, a call with resolved NOTHING. Josh called back to demand an apology from me and threated me with canceling my contact and not perfuming the work. It's now been two weeks without a word from this company. AVOID AT ALL COST. I regrate that I spent over $12 grand in the install of my two units. This doesn't even take into account the repairs before the new units. You can get a better price and service from almost anyone else. read more

The most terrible experience and outcome possible. We looked on line and supposedly found a reputable business. The tech analyzed our issue of no heat and prescribed a new a new Trane Fan and capacitor on our 2018 pro unit. Price quoted 2020. Thinking this was rather high i refused. Then he enrolled me free in a special customer program giving me 400 discount. The owner Josh gave me a five minute phone speech on how the company will honor the reps price quoted. After hanging up with Josh I still had reservations and refused the install.After doing some reasearch the problem was fixed with two batteries in the thermostat. I was only ripped off for a 99 service fee. However then could have scamed me for alot more. I have never written a negative review , hopefully this will enlighten future patrons. If you want an issue fixed the first time, Service 1st Pros may not be the right fit for you. If you know me, you know I don't leave negative reviews if at all possible. However, in this situation, I am very upset at Service 1st Pros. I came into my basement 3 days ago to find water coming from my air conditioning unit. My carpet was wet, so I had to begin the grueling process of drying the carpet. I called Service 1st Pros to come look into the issue. A tech came and said I needed a new condensate pump because that was the issue. He had to send another tech to install the condensate pump. The second tech came late that evening and installed the condensate pump. I was happy that the issue was fixed...except it wasn't. The next day, I came into the basement, only to find the same situation as the day before - more water coming from the AC unit. I called Service 1st Pros again and I was told someone could come back on Monday. Service 1st Pros sent the same tech on Monday who installed the condensate pump (which wasn't the problem and also not inexpensive). The tech checked everything but said he couldn't figure out where the water was coming from. After making a minor adjustment (clearing a bit of rust from a pipe), he said I should be good to go, as far as the water is concerned. Less than 2 hours later, what do I find at my AC unit? More WATER!!! Service 1st Pros has been to my house 3 times and has not fixed the issue. I am VERY disappointed and tired of having to deal with water on my floors. If you want an issue fixed the first time, Service 1st Pros may not be the right fit for you. read more

I just have to say that this company stands behind their word and really do go the extra mile! I would have them back to my house anytime at all! If you have a problem (no one loves when their heat or air isn't working) they are there with you through the whole experience. The follow up and compassion the office staff has for our needs is top notch. If there is a delay in parts they keep in touch and give updates. Requested service on A/C that was making unusual noise. The repairman arrived as indicated and was very nice and knowledgeable concerning the A/C repair. He recommended a relay replacement. As it turned out he did not have the relay that was needed but he indicated he could get it and would return at a later date to replace it. He told me the service charge for this visit would be deducted from the cost of the next visit which was just fine with me. As it turns out the company is not and will not honor the serviceman's statement and deduct the previous visit charge as I was told they would. I now fine it necessary to contact another repair center for the required repair. I would not recommend this company for any type of A/C work. Again WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY read more

I was shocked that even though my system is brand new (installed a year and a half ago by a different company) that there were so many simple things that were not initially done at my install that had caused other issues. On December 27th, 2021, I had appointment with a tech from Service 1st Pros out of Auburn, GA for my heating system. I had a verbal conversation with the tech who informed me the issue was that the computer board needed to be replaced. At end of the diagnostic appointment, I asked the technician if I replaced the computer board will this all I need to do to fix my current problem and the techician verbally said yes. With that verbal communication, I decided to schedule the appointment to replace the computer board. The diagnostic appointment was $99.00 and the cost of the part and labor to replace the computer was $895. The $99 diagnostic fee did go towards the $895. I set the appointment for January 5th, 2022, the technician did his job efficiently. I asked the tech if everything was okay? He verbally said yes, and showed me the heater was working. The same day, I got a invoice and on the receipt it said a combustion test was not performed. That made me concerned in using heating system, but the weather was getting cold and I did used the heat. Trusting the word of the tech that put the computer board in the furnace. Five days later in the middle of the night, heat went out and January 14, 2022 same technician comes out and advised me I need a new furnace and advised me the $895 I paid on January 5th would go towards a new furnace. I was obviously very upset since I just paid $895 for 5 days of heat and part that is useless at this point. I made the technician very aware that I was upset by this finding and found it totally unacceptable for a company not to stand by its work. The technician informed that the manager would reach out to me the same day to see what could be done about the matter. Dean, the manager called promptly pushing for me to replace the furnace. Nevermind I just paid $895 a few days ago. I tried to express to Dean I wasn't interested in replacing the furnace but i wanted an explanation on would this company advised me to spend $895 on something if I needed a brand new furnace. Common sense will say to anyone why would I pay $895 to replace a computer board your tech advised me was the problem and you want me pay over $3000 for a new furnace. I ended with conversation with Dean with him stating that the money that went into computer board could go towards the supposed new furnace I needed and that he will call back later in the day to discuss the matter further. I was so upset with situation and had my sister find the corporate number. Dean calls me back and literally had 3 minute monologue about how this company is giving me a good deal and insinuates that I've talked bad about the 2 technicians work. Then he talked over me the whole conversation and insulted my intelligence. Dean also states that I shouldn't be upset of the money lost but I should be happy I'm getting such a great deal on a new furnace. The new deal was only have the $895 would go towards the furnace. So, after the insults, over talking and lack of professionalism from Dean, I ended the phone call. Josh and his wife (owners of the company) did reach out to me immediately after. Josh stated that he would reach out to Monday to find a resolution (well its Wednesday) and nothing. Mind you, we just had one of the coldest weekends this past weekend. I have never written a negative review and hope this review will be a cautionary tale for future customers. Do your research!!!!! This is the third time that Service First has been out to us. The first two were for our rental property next door. First trip was to FIX what another company from Athens really messed up, the second time to perform preventative maintenance. This time was for our house, preventative maintenance. I can't even begin to explain how professional these guys are. Everything they did was explained before and after, they called to let us know they were 15 to 20 minutes away, were really friendly and we felt completely comfortable with them. Their prices were extremely reasonable, especially considering the top-notch quality that their work seems to be. I had my unit serviced in July. Josh was very professional, knowledgeable, and clean. He suggested some repairs that needed to be done and was able to prolong our unit until we could afford to replace it with a new system. Our house was built in 1997, so it is way overdue.
