Peachez for brunch almost didn't get the chance to impress me because BABY... $20 to park is insanity. Like... I came for chicken and waffles, not to finance a small construction project. If I wasn't meeting my travel group (who I haven't seen since last June), I would've turned right back around and found somewhere with free parking and peace. BUT... once we got inside, I'll admit it -- Peachez started acting right. First of all, our server Z was amazing. Super cool, attentive, and made sure our table was good the whole time. The breakfast potatoes? Whew. Seasoned perfectly and honestly tasted like somebody back there loves their job. The salmon croquettes were good, but I'm not gonna lie... they could've used a little more seasoning. Just a touch more salt and pepper and they would've been perfect. Thankfully, eating them with them potatoes helped because the potatoes came ready to fight for flavor. Now the ribeye... LISTEN. That ribeye was to die for. Cooked perfectly and as good as medium well can possibly be. We also had the chicken and waffles, and they were definitely a win too. And the drinks? We ordered four mimosa towers and they were crafted really well -- not weak, not watered down, and definitely doing what they were supposed to do. The R&B saxophonist was the cherry on top because the vibe was giving elegant brunch... but still "don't be surprised if I start dancing at the table." So yes... the parking fee hurt my feelings. So I've been here three times and each time has not been memorable reason why I am doing a review now. The first time I went here it was allegedly for brunch when we got there the restaurant was empty. They asked if we had a reservation we did not. They told us they had a lot of reservations, even though the restaurant was almost empty. It was around 3 PM. they said give them a few minutes and then we were seated. we sat down and they showed us the menu which was a brunch menu and when the waiter came over, they told us they weren't having brunch now. Houston is the brunch capital. I feel like not serving brunch on a sunday afternoon is ridiculous. We left. I went back again on Wednesday night for oyster and happy hour night . The oysters were good. The restaurant was empty. The happy hour pricing was decent. The service was nonexistent and there was not even really anyone in the restaurant, which is crazy. Tonight I went back because they had R&B live music and it was steak night. My friend order the steak. It was not cooked to the temperature. A bunch of other crazy things happen and I ordered wings. Wings weren't good. I really hate to give restaurants bad reviews, but I definitely won't be going back here. I went to Peaches on a Thursday night for their steak night special that I saw advertised on Instagram. The meal was about $30, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. First, the seating arrangement was strange and uncomfortable. There was live music, which was actually the only enjoyable part of the night at first, but it ended up being so loud that we couldn't even hear each other talk at the table. The food itself was even worse. I ordered my steak medium, but it came out closer to well done and nearly half of it was fat. The steak was so tough that every time we tried to cut it, the table literally shook. We had to take turns holding the table steady so the other person could cut their food. Service was also questionable. Our waitress dropped our cutlery on the floor, picked it up, and still put it on our table. Yes, it was wrapped in plastic, but it had just been on the floor, which felt really off-putting. The wait time was extremely long. It took about an hour just to get drinks, and the food came roughly 15 minutes after that. When it arrived, it wasn't even hot. The mac and cheese and yams were okay, but the greens smelled burnt and had a strange taste. Overall, this felt like a waste of money. For reference I was wearing a off-white brand crop top, black sheer tights under ripped denim shorts and leather gladiator sandals. Next the security tried to tell me I required a reservation. I'm not exactly sure what the door persons MO was with all the rhetoric but it was a very unserious ridiculous interaction. I definitely will not be back based off that alone. Secondly service is sloooooow as molasses. Once I was seated without a reservation mind you. It took roughly 10 mins for someone to come to the table. The initial experience was so off putting that my friend and I decided to just leave. Also there was music...it was entirely too loud. This was my second time here, although the first time I ubered so I wasn't aware of the $30 valet fee but you can park across the street for $20. I called to make reservations was asked to leave a message, so make reservations online, it's faster. Please keep in mind that what drew us to this restaurant in the first place was an Instagram post of a happy hour they were offering with $1 oysters, $1 shots and other deals that they had posted an hour before on their page. The oysters were the star of the show in all of their cheesy, buttery goodness but they took about 2 hours to arrive to our table. On Instagram, people were asking what time they were offering the oysters in which the business replied and said all day, however about 30-45 minutes into our wait for them to be done, we were told that they weren't being sold until 7pm by another waitress(it was about 5pm and we had already been waiting almost an hour before being told that). They then said that we would be in the last of the next batch. My oysters came and my friend's still took another 20-30 minutes to come out after mine. We both found a few pearls in our oysters too which I didn't mind, actually thought it was cool, lol. Towards the end of the experience, a manager did come over to ask about how our experience was in which we shared with her our qualms with the wait and she offered us free shots which was the most hospitality we received while dining with them. I was invited out Friday night by a friend to the soft opening and first night of the restaurant. We had a reservation for 10pm, so we had just missed the highly requested tasting from 6:30-9:30pm. Our server was so welcoming she got us a sample of the oxtail max and cheese egg rolls. They were so good we each ordered our own. There was a DJ at first then they switched to a play list. Let me start by saying that the service I received was great! Chy was an amazing waitress who was very kind, patient, and helpful for a party of seven. The vibes were great and I love that there was live music on this specific night. If I did return it would solely be for a vibe. Being in Houston the bar for quality food is high, and this place really missed the mark for me. The steak was overcooked for my liking. Outside of the brussel sprouts, which were great, the sides tasted processed and artificial, with a flavor that suggested they came from canned or boxed ingredients. The margarita towers are about half the size of what you'd traditionally expect when you order one so be advised of that if you choose to order. We ended up sending ours back because it had an overwhelming taste of margarita mix over the spirit. Let me start by saying there was a lot of empty parking spaces since other business was closed by 11pm they only have valet which is ridiculous pricing $20 for what we can park on our own. Even though they had lots of places to seat us they sit us at a high table with the most uncomfortable chairs made more for looks and not seating. Customer service was lacking I don't know if it was late but they stay open till 3am. However I will give 5 stars for the food the appetizer oxtail Mac and cheese egg roll with the sauce was so mouthwatering! The Cajun pasta was great too spicy Cajun just the way I like it shrimp cooked to perfection. Only downfall they serve it with plastic utensils which can't pick up pasta for nothing so hard to eat with made it impossible to enjoy the food. Asked for water which the server never came by to ask for refill's or check on us. Place would be nice if they looked at it as a customer service experience POV. We get inside... although a reservation is recommended we didn't have one and was able to be seated right away, so that was a plus. They were only serving their brunch and bites items on the menu. The food was pretty good. Oxtail and Mac Egg Roll was a 10/10. So delicious and flavorful. Non alcoholic beverages are $4 with a $2 refill (not listed on menu). INSANE!!! You can not make it over the phone like regular restaurants they require you to do it online and give your credit card info for a $50 no show fee. I responded to the text and asked how much is the deposit she said she didn't know what i was talking about. I responded and said it's asking me for my credit card info and she responded and basically told me to read it's on the site why they want it.
