I used to see Dakota for regular sugaring when she worked at her previous employer in Greenlake, and before I left to live abroad. I always noticed that with her sugaring "technique" (maybe it was her quickness? or maybe magic?) it seemed to hurt less than with other estheticians I'd been to, and it helped that we always chatted throughout the appointments to make it less painful or uncomfortable. Now that I live out of the country I don't see Dakota on a regular basis, but while I was visiting Washington recently for Thanksgiving knew I had to go try a facial at The Clean Esthetics - and it was so worth it! My face was glowing afterwards and my skin felt more nourished than it had before. The space itself is beautiful and clean, and the atmosphere is calming. The receptionist was very friendly and we talked for about ten minutes while I waited. I saw Karen that day and she was AMAZING. She made me feel comfortable, took great care of my sensitive skin, her waxing technique was excellent, and we spent the whole time talking. I've had a lot more bad experiences than good ones and when I found a lady I really liked up north, I went to her for 3 years. However due to COVID, she no longer works there and the anxiety of having to find a new person is extremely nerve wracking. I've gone to a few places and trust me girl, I cried a few times, I ripped them off a few times, I completely understand that I have a tall order asking for it to be extra sharp, narrow, and perfect. I get it. Not everyone wants to spend 2 hours trying to sharpen my claws. So I have a modeling photoshoot coming up (was in hiatus thanks to COVID) and now I'm back behind the camera and needed my nails done! I stayed up all night the last few nights scrolling through photos as well as reviews that date back to 2015 for all I care. I've read some scary stories of people getting cut and bleeding and whatnot. Now I came across Shadow Nails and have never seen so many stiletto shaped nails done so beautifully! I mean you really should take a look at their photos! I was so excited I didn't care if it was 4am, they had a inquiry form so I emailed them immediately asking how much and when I can book an appointment. Pricing is a big deal for me too because I've been charged $100 for crappy work and my go to lady only charged me $30. It's more about the service and how well they take care of you that I care about. When I walked in today, it was a Saturday afternoon, it was empty. There was a cute little dog that greeted me at the door and I'm like "... hello? Anyone there? Looks like the little dog was my nail tech for the day". I had the pleasure of meeting Chin who offered me water, tea, something to drink before getting started! So kind of you, he finished with my full set acrylic, looking extra sharp and am so happy with how it turned out! He constantly asked me to check the shape and style to make sure it was to my liking. I get anxiety asking people to fix something and rather would ignore it because usually they get mean after I say something but Chin just fixed it right away and my mind was at ease. I'm sorry this review is long but then again all my reviews are long! I'm so content with my service today that I'm happy to say I found my new go to spot and it's so close to home! The shaping was just ok and the nail tech got gel on my cuticles. I do gel nails at home and I know the no. 1 rule is to not get gel nails on your cuticles because it will lift. The staff is friendly though but not enough for me to come back. Price is good but not for the quality. I didn't want to say anything when I was there because they were nice but I unfortunately will have to go elsewhere to get my nails done.

She's always super accommodating and respectful of my time- even if I only have 15 minutes, she still gets my nails done perfectly.
