A dessert shop that specializes in cobblers? I never imagined such an operation would open this far north. Peach Cobbler Factory has been in business for about a year now in this western suburban Detroit strip mall where parking is never an issue. The inside of the suite was bright and spacious, however there were no seats or tables. Maybe they used to have some stools and high-tops in the past? A faux green wall was on the right, but it seemed out of sorts when nearly all places with such a social media friendly feature also have seating. There were over a dozen cobbler flavors, and each order included ice cream. The surprise was the variety of other desserts that were available. Cinnamon rolls, cookies, banana pudding, pudding shakes, brownies, Belgian waffles, and churro stix were offered. Some of these items were on display in plastic cases at the service counter. By using such a specific business name, it undersold the diversity of sweet treats that you could purchase here. A Mango Peach Cobbler was what I decided to buy. Because everything was packaged to go, the cobbler was served in one takeout container while the cinnamon vanilla ice cream was scooped into its own styrofoam cup. A cobbler is a fruit filling poured into a large baking dish that is covered with a batter/crust before being baked in an oven. It's essentially like a deep dish pie. I didn't detect much mango flavor, but the peaches were very sweet. I wished the cobbler portion size was larger for the $9 price. My husband and I got a peach cobbler with ice cream and a nutella cinnamon roll. The peach cobbler itself was good- and they serve the ice cream on the side in its own cup which was awesome for taking home! It didn't become a big melted mess, so it was nice that they're kept separate. Unfortunately, though, the ice cream itself wasn't great. My husband didn't mind it, and we both enjoyed the cinnamon in it, but to me it was watery and just not something I'd eat again. The cinnamon roll was really bad. It was extremely dry and lacked flavor. The only thing that made me take more bites was the Nutella on top. The employee who took our order was kind, and the store was clean and bright. Everything is made with love. Prices are a bit high BUT ingredients are premium. I went with the choose 4 (of puddings and cobblers), and I loved how all were different despite a couple containing peaches. Each cobbler comes with a scoop of ice cream in a separate container. Look at my pic - receipt shows what we tried (and loved). We also tried the Red Velvet pudding shake, which was tasty and large and thick. I think we were waited on by the owners - they were very friendly and helpful with recommendations. To go only. Good amount of space for waiting, but no place to sit (I waited in the car while Ken stayed inside..,everything's made to order, so our order took maybe 10 minutes). Nothing like it in the area. When I first stepped foot here at Peach Cobbler Factory I had no idea what to expect. It has the words "Peach Cobbler" in its name so naturally you're thinking that's all they offer, but man was I wrong. As you can tell by looking at the menu they have cobblers, cookies, pudding, rolls etc. I got a banana pudding with strawberry and cheesecake. I had been wanting to try the Peach Cobbler factory for some time, and I was excited to learn that there was a location finally opening in Michigan. Although Canton is a bit further from where I live, I was was able to make it out to the Canton area luckily on the way home from a work conference in Ann Arbor, so it worked out for me finally to get to the Peach Cobbler Factory! The staff were very nice as I arrived to order desserts. I ordered both a regular Peach Cobbler and a Strawberry Banana Pudding. The Strawberry Banana Pudding tasted store bought in my opinion, almost like the store bought Patti Labelle pudding you can buy from grocery stores. The pudding had a very bland taste to me. I was expecting a homemade feel for the pudding. On the other hand, I really enjoyed the regular Peach Cobbler dessert, with ice cream. The Peach Cobbler had more of a homemade taste to me, and just the right amount of flavor, not too sweet, but just sweet enough in my opinion. And I liked the crust to peach filling ratio (I love extra crust in cobblers). Overall, I really enjoyed the Peach Cobbler! The ambiance was cute! There is an area where customers can take pictures! I have been wanting to try this place out for awhile since it opened. Tonight we finally did. The young lady taking our order was very nice and patient with us. I love the selfie greenery background they made on the wall. We tried the cherry cobbler and Carmel apple cobbler out.i had high hopes, however when we got home from there I noticed right when I opened the lids up it smelled more like a can of fruit then apple or cherries. They definitely don't use fresh fruit for the cobblers. It was just okay. I don't think it will be something we will crave to go get. They do seem to make the ice cream there which tastes pretty good. I discovered that when I saw boxes in the back labeled "ice cream" in which weren't in a freezer, they were on shelves. The apples were soft which was really nice because most apple desserts, the apples aren't cooked all the way. The can smell and taste was just to overcoming for me. The cherries didn't even have the real "red" look that they usually do. We will go back and try the Belgian waffles next time though. And then see if we will back or not. I am glad they offer many differ desserts and not just the cobblers. Such as: cookies, brownies, banana pudding, and pudding shakes. We will try the other desserts they offer and see how they are before we write this place off. They have two tables inside that have signs on them that say no eating the tables are there for people who are waiting for their order. Also if you like Jazz music you will love it there too! I ordered a large pan of peach cobbler for my birthday last year. We spoke with a person there and asked when they closed and I told her that we would've there at least an hour before they closed. When we got there to pick up the cobbler, an hour and a half before they were supposed to close, they were closed!! No peach cobbler for my birthday. In retrospect I probably should have went with the dessert flight since that seems to be the best value. Instead I got one peach cobbler and one banana pudding and they totaled $19.00 as opposed to with the flight you get to pick any four cobblers/puddings for $23.00. However once I ate my cobbler I was pleasantly surprised to see it was packed with flashy, buttery crust just how I like it. They are super generous with the banana pudding portions. I was a little unsure if i would like the banana pudding as I am a diehard Not yo Mama/chessman cookie banana pudding aficionado, but it was so fire! I wish the others would open. I've seen the one on gratiot and broadway downtown with brown paper and the stencils for like two years now. I had the cinnamon peach praline and my dad had the caramel apple. Both so good. Get them to go is the only option and they separate the cobbler from the vice cream! When I walked, it was clean and the decor was kind of cute. But it was just missing something. Soul maybe? I'm not sure but I just wished it felt more warm and inviting in the side. When I think of peach cobbler, I think of a southern aunt who loves whipping up her famous cobbler for the family. I also wish they had some small tables so one can sit down and enjoy their cobbler while it's nice & warm. I will say, the customer service was good. The cashier was friendly and I got my order very quick. As for the cobbler, I loved that it was a nice crust to filling ratio. However, the flavor was lacking and it left me underwhelmed. I've gone to the Canton Peach Cobbler Factory a number of times since it first opened. For the first few months, it seemed like the owners were doing a lot of the Frontline work (cooking, working the register, etc.) Unsurprisingly, the quality was outstanding. I had to hold myself back from going too often because nothing on that menu tasted bad. Fast forward to present day, they've hired new staff. Since this has happened, there has been a noticeable lack of quality in the food. Just got a cinnamon bun for my girlfriend. Sadly, it was overcooked and they dumped a ton of icing on it. The last time I went a few months ago, the cobblers were lackluster as well. The flavor just seemed off, more like gelatin in texture than an actual Cobbler. It is enough sugar to joke a horse. Why does it need to be this sweet? Out of control. If you care about your customers health please tone down the sugar. We get it. It's a dessert. My mother wanted to try this place so since we were Downtown, we visited the Downtown location first. But, they did not have the sweet potato cobbler. After paying for my order, the workers informed me there was another location in Canton. I came here with the intention of only getting the sweet potato cobbler, but I could not resist the pleasant aroma of freshly baked cobblers and desserts- something I did not notice at the other location.
