Cone with cherry dip and rainbow sprinkles

Custard Time has been my local spot since I was a kid and it never disappoints me. The lines are usually pretty long and can be slow, however the variety of choices available and their new items make the wait well worth it. Though the menu is a little chaotic as there's a plethora of options, once you find your order you won't stop coming back! I wish it was open all year!

Oh custard time, how do I love thee? More than waiting in a long line in the sun, 30 people deep with sweat rolling down my back! We used to live here and this was a family fave so we were not going to miss a chance to enjoy this divine location! It did not disappoint. So much nostalgia, and just like I remembered. This made my day/night/week/year. Love this place!

First time here, came here with someone who came here as a kid. 5 stars for vanilla custard, smooth and creamy. Tastes as good as Costco's. Reasonably priced menu. My soft serve was extra soft for some reason, see my picture. Good thing I got it in a cup.

Parking lot here is pretty crazy, and the lines are always long. Good indication of summer when this place is open. We got the Strawberry shortcake sundae for 475 and the medium caramel and pineapple Sundae for 450. Both of these come with whip cream and cherries we told them to hold the crushed nuts. Refreshing treat for a hot day, but the stop by every once in a while.

I ordered the vanilla custard with cherry dip and it was delicious. The custard is creamy perfection, not too thick or heavy. I happily finished off my cone. It's been a few years since I've ordered cherry dip and it brought back the classic artificial flavor of my childhood in the best way! My partner got the chocolate dip which tasted more like genuine chocolate. The girls behind the counter were friendly and polite, please give them a fat tip if you remember what it's like to spend your summers working a minimum wage job! Thank you ladies, I'll be back soon.

Custard Time has a very good Custard Ice Cream, along with other DQ style items. The storefront faces south so the hot sun of a summer day prepares you for some ice cold treats to help cool you down. The window service moves along pretty quickly so the usual line outside isn't too bad. It's a favorite place for ice cream in Northville and ours as well. I'm giving it 3 stars and I'll be back...

10/10 it was so great for both myself (dairy-ish free) and my husband (custard lover). Don't look past the frozen bananas! They are delish. They have a wide range of options - all so good! From slushes to shakes and flurries and vegan dole whips!

Who doesn't love frozen custard?! The location is "window only" ... no indoor access. The lines are usually pretty long, but the girls get it moving quick enough. Their prices are fair & the serving sizes are LARGE. The vanilla custard is thick & delicious (yay) They also serve Guernsey hard scoop ice cream (double yay) I would also recommend the SUICIDE slushee.

    Dole whip extra large

Went to custard time today and ordered a large dole whip. It is smaller than usually and looks like a medium. I did complain because it is not what I was pay for. The other girl come in to weight it and told me, it is large. Then I looked at the weight. The weight not even on 0 and it is about 2 ounce over. A large is 8 ounce and they steal 2 ounces from customers. My daughter don't want me to make a bigger scene. This business is so dis honest.

Soooo goood! We were in line but 6 feet apart!

Walking in I was hit with an overwhelming sour smell and a load of filthy tables. The young lady behind the counter was on her phone and barely looked up to acknowledge our presence. Roughly 1/3 of the machines were empty so the flavor selection was lacking. Like the tables, the yogurt machines were dirty and could have used a quick wipe down. I chose the "original tart" and a milk chocolate while my daughter mixed and matched a few other flavors. The topping selection looked sad, and was in desperate need of filling and wiping down. I chose waffle cone chips that unfortunately were very stale, and a maraschino cherry. We paid $18 for 2 barely half full cups with minimal topping (due to lack of product availability) The original tart was so sour that it was almost inedible. I've never had it taste so bad and I'm thinking there was something wrong with it. While I will be back because my daughter enjoys the experience, it won't be my first choice

Some of the best hot chocolates I've ever had are from chocolate shops (makes sense) so I had high hopes. The price was quite reasonable I think for a premium hot chocolate, $4.99 for a dark hot chocolate with Mayan spice (cinnamon, cayenne, etc.) added. There was an option to add whipped cream and marshmallows but I opted out. The cocoa was excellent - delightfully chocolatey and definitely spicy - it definitely had a kick. I would order again in a heartbeat - maybe it's a good thing for my body that I don't live that close to Plymouth. They also have a nice array of chocolates, very similar to classic chocolate shops. I bought a couple of dark chocolate covered cherries and dark chocolate honeycomb chips for my mother and she loved them and she can normally be very picky about these type of chocolates. She said they were very fresh and the cherry flavor of the chocolate covered cherries was excellent. These were probably her favorite chocolates she's had in the last ten years or so. Alpine Chocolate Haus was definitely a winner and we'll be back whenever we're in Plymouth.

There's plenty of variety, employees are nice (most are teenagers or young adults), price is "ok" for what you get, but I would rather much visit the ice cream places down the blocks from Dairy King, since they're all close to each other anyway. My problem stems from how when they're busy, they don't want to get customers in/out the door. Some I see are visibly irritated with families with large orders because the family's of four or five have many ice cream requests. Not the biggest deal, which is where I come in. I've seen the countless, 100% Artificial Intelligence created boards that advertise and display their menu. To me, it's awful they can't use some of their employee's handwriting or creativity to make the displays (don't we see that at standard ice cream shops anyway?). It just didn't right that they couldn't pay even a one time fee for someone to create these menu boards, they rely on AI instead. I took a quick Google still on Dairy King's reviews about it, to see if I was the only one. Not surprisingly, I saw one person comment on it and said how it was disappointing. This reviewer wasn't even rude, just said how it's a frustrating experience for an ice cream shop. Rightfully so! It is! My even greater concern, where the one star officially comes in, is how the business owner on Google reviews for Dairy King was egocentric, and very passive aggressive with the reviewer, basically backing down on using AI without taking any kind of feedback for their restaurant. Isn't that what having an ice cream shop or any restraint about, listening and wanting feedback? For similar prices (and ice cream you can get anywhere else), I will not return. This whole experience, even after years of visits, is pretty upsetting and I expect better. 1/5 stars
