I would suggest ordering the mini version rather than the full size unless you have a huge sweet tooth, and even then it might be too much. Sharing might be caring in this instance. It has a really nice shaded area to sit although it might not be the best during this summer heat. The staff were also very nice but they're more focused on the drive thru when it's not as busy. A big plus is they also have treats for your furry best friend! If you're in the area this might be a sweet spot to stop by.

Let's be honest…read more Ruston isn't exactly the first place that comes to mind when you think of craft coffee, fresh pastries, thoughtful small plates, and palate-forward cocktails. Then there's Common Goods. On a recent trip from New Orleans to North Louisiana, my friend Jacob rounded up a mix of locals and out-of-towners and said, "Trust me." He was right. Where do I even start? I use this word sparingly, but this place is a vibe. I walked in not knowing what to expect and immediately noticed the velvet yellow sectional, the clean design, and a room that was the perfect blend of curated and comfortable. Nothing was working too hard, yet everything felt intentional. Then came the cocktail menu. Whoever put it together understands balance. Sweet. Sour. Spice. Earth. The presentation was superb. I ordered the New Fashioned. Then another. Then...well...let's just say I quit counting after three. The Earl Grey infusion works, it somehow it makes a great Old Fashioned feel lighter, brighter, and completely new. The personal chocolate cake with salted caramel disappeared almost as fast as it hit the table. It was the unanimous favorite. My friends Paul and Racheal loved it so much they got their own, in chocolate and raspberry. The bread service deserves a mention. Fresh bread with balsamic and infused olive oil sounds simple. But there was complexity and finish in both. The bread had crisp edges and a soft middle. By the end of the night I was spellbound by their magic. Common Goods isn't just a great spot for Ruston. It's a place that could hold its own in New Orleans, Nashville, or Austin without anyone batting an eye. This place is a gem. And I'm officially obsessed. If you live in Ruston, this should be a weekly spot.

It's a family-friendly atmosphere, almost like a throwback to years gone by, where everybody knows each other & make strangers (like myself) feel at home. They were extremely busy, and you could tell, but it never phased the staff. I was very impressed with how they maintained their positive demeanor, gave amazing service (appreciative for you coming there), and always made sure I didn't run out of my Coke Zero. If you are lucky enough to have a sweet young lady named Isabella to wait on you, consider yourself lucky. She is an absolute sweetheart! Now, as for the food...WOW!!! I had the Cabin Trio because I've started a carnivore diet, it was (3) grilled shrimps, chicken breast, & a small ribeye...covered in sautéed squash, zucchini, and broccoli...no additional sides for me. Shrimp perfectly cooked, chicken was juicy, the steak (medium) could be cut with a fork, and I may or may not have had some sautéed veggies (perfectly seasoned). Beyond a great dining experience & I greatly appreciated the Coke Zero to go, Isabella!

My quest led me to a rather marvelous establishment known as Log Cabin. The moment I stepped across the threshold, the hospitality was nothing short of exemplary. The staff welcomed me with immense warmth and elegantly showed me around the venue. Now, the tables feature a rather unique collection of stickers a distinct, rustic style choice that instantly transported my imagination straight to Texas. I found the casual, spirited ambiance to be thoroughly delightful. The level of service and the sheer attention to detail in their preparation were absolutely amazing. To complement the afternoon, I opted for a simple, perfectly chilled Coca-Cola to drink. For my main entrée, I selected the pork chops. The kitchen's timing was quite precise; my fare arrived beautifully prepared in about twenty minutes. The entire experience was an absolute triumph honest, flavorful, and delivered with top-tier Southern hospitality. I am completely charmed by this lovely spot, and I shall most certainly be returning the next time my work brings me to Ruston
