Best coffee place in Ouachita Parish. Prices are fair, menu is varied without being overwhelming, and everything is made consistently so you can count on your usual being perfect every time. The Coffee barn has been open about three weeks at the time of writing this review. Overview: This is a little rural independantly owned coffee shop, with a hint of southern charm. It is a family owned business, and primarily ran by a mother and daughter team, who are both very friendly and always greet you with a big southern smile. The building: It is a simple little building that predominantly is designed to offer drive through service. There is no inside seating, but does offer a small covered back patio if you wish to sit and visit. Ot is easily accessible from the main road. The staff: As previously mentioned this is a family owned business, I beleive with a grandmother, mother and daughter team. Primarily it seems to be the mother and daughter that operate the business, both are charming and friendly. They always greet you with a friendly smile, and are ready to serve you, which they have done swiftly on each of my (now 5 visits). The Coffee: They offer a wide range of hot and cold coffee, as well as energy teas etc. They also have several specialty drinks (The Blondie and Cowboy are amazing). If you want a latte, Americano, frappachino, capuchino or just regular Coffee, its all available, and again so is a range of tea and energy tea. They have a wide range of flavors available, as well as many sugar free options! They also have kid friendly options. Price: Their prices are inline with strarbucks, and other coffee chaines, and depending on the size of the drink range from $2.00 to $6.50. All in all this is a welcome addition to the local business scene, and serves a community that otherwise is a good 20 minutes from any other coffee shop. If I have one critique it would be that too me (my preference), the Hot Coffee could be a little hotter. I like to sip on it all morning long, but do find while you can drink it right from the window, it means it does not stsy hot as long as I would like. I go here every morning! Their coffee is rich with the best aftertaste. The owner is incredibly sweet, welcoming, and very involved in her business. I have Celiac Disease and when I pull up and get my coffee, I can hear the baristas reminding each other to take caution when making my drink to keep me safe. I don't even have to worry which, for a celiac, is a HUGE deal. Thank you to his business. My only complaint would be how badly I wish they were open Sunday mornings so I can enjoy a coffee on the porch! read more
